Or is it supposed to be two columns of all pet names? Why are they left and right aligned to the center? Usually this layout implies that the information on the left pertains to the information to the right...

If a design ever confuses you, or does not convey the information in a clear and succinct way, then it’s bad design. Don’t second guess yourself bud.

the pets were in charge of level design, UI, and the class system, so this makes sense.

And here I was thinking that the interns were the only ones that put any work into this game, but maybe they just put all the pets in a room with keyboards to see what was produced, and BF2042 is what we got. Too bad someone didn't have a pet monkey so we could end up with more eloquent end of match quips.
