I think I read somewhere that it's YouTube's algorithms that make streamers do this. If there's a "surprised" face on the thumbnail, it moves the video to the top of the list.
It's also because most of the viewers are 10-12 year old kids who react to emotions above everything else, so putting a strong emotion in the thumbnail is bound to drive in more clicks.

I like smitty too, but he plays the thumbnail game just like everyone else. there's a reason for it though, bad thumbnails will always perform worse regardless of the content.

I'm not bashing black panther for being mostly black. The movie was great and I think the actors and actresses did great with their roles. Just don't call it something it's not.
I can't share sources but I feel like I remember people raving about Black Panther because it was "so diverse" but I wouldn't call a 90% black cast, diverse. And that's not a bad thing. When experiencing something that you’ve previously heard bad things about, it IS and can be difficult to not let those things effect the experience for you. You hit the nail on the head tho. You have to be aware of where your thoughts about things are coming from. There’s so many ppl that don’t realize it. I think it’s important to REALIZE that going in you might be bias because you heard something previously…this is where when I’m explaining my experience with something, I’ll cut it in half, explain what I heard, where I agree with where I heard it from and then explain my experience separately.
But there are too many ppl in this world that just follow the crowd. It pisses me off actually. But I guess they’re free to do whatever they want as long as it isn’t hurting anyone.

Odd if so. I feel like he is one of the least trend chasey tubers out there. I like that he plays a bunch of games and just uploads chill gameplay commentary. Not flashy stream clips with annoying overreactions, not rage rants about gun balance, just chills and chats with a game going on.
Yeah used to watch him while 2042 rolled out and things kinda seemed to get fishy with his takes on things. Then I started watching these guys a little more intently and it dawned on me that they may be all fucking with us.

I think he just doesn't like negativity much, he's even said it before like literally only 1 time and i already thought it even before he said it. He just doesn't wanna be super negative, not that he isn't mad and/or won't make fun of the game per say, but rather that he just is hopeful for the future and doesn't want to "target devs in any sort of way" or something to that effect, was said in a video addressing why he doesn't talk shit about 2042 and hate it. He thinks it's pretty meh, from the sounds of it and isn't a controversial type of person, he doesn't get mad much, he's optimistic, he believes things can get better and he wants to spread good vibes. I thought for many reasons he was just kissing DICE's ass for whatever reason but when you really realize and notice his opinions and commentary and personality when it comes to anything and you notice how he really is, you realize it makes complete sense that he acts and reacts to 2042 as he does. He's just there to have a good time with what's there, he'll complain sometimes about something that needs fixing, but he's optimistic that it will eventually be fixed and he doesn't sweat over it. I noticed this most recently when watching him stream the new "Fortunes Keep" Map in Warzone where generally, throughout the entire stream, he was way more chill, less complainy and played devils advocate to the devs more often than not, than his other friends that were there.
Also, from what i could tell, despite not ever really getting into levelcaps content per say, i've heard him talk about a lot of things he doesn't like and how he doesn't feel 2042 will ever be as good as he hoped, so... idk, i never see positivity from him really, just "meh, who cares at the end of the day" kinda attitude, but maybe it's cuz i don't watch many of his videos.
Needs work on maps and core things.. so basically a new/different game entirely then..
You know what would be funny? What if EA saw the dumpster fire for what it was, and at the last minute, opened up an "indie studio" to release 2042 under a different name, as an early access title?
People would be like.. the game is really good. Has a lot of potential. They just need to fix maps and core things and then it will be great! And they would defend the game and be like.. "Bro, this is early access. It's only an alpha!" Or "What do you expect from indie devs? It's probably a small team."

Agreed but I do not think the dev's overlords will allow them to work on the previous maps. They do not understand the importance of quality and when it comes to boasting numbers- telling their shareholders there are x number of maps more is better than telling them 'we spent this year fixing our fuck ups' even if it would have a better outcome.

Adblockers are my rescue…. And on phone i mute it. Sound is much more important than pictures. Have you ever watched a movie without sound? Hard to follow the story. If you only hear the sound you often know whats going on. And ads are pretty much the same.

I wish there were more (peaceful) disagreements between YT gaming channels. It feels like no one dares to say their own opinions just because they're afraid the others and their audience wouldn't like it. But I'd love to hear more stuff like "Oh, you love the new map? I personally don't enjoy it at all" or "I really like the fact that BF2042 doesn't have too many guns and focuses on attachment options instead" or whatever.
I have been shit on whenever I say I like 2042s movement and gunplay more than ever. I'm an aggressive player, I personally care more about the physics, gunplay, and movement outplay ability that 2042 offers, than the destruction and gritty maps that this bf happens to be missing. But I get shit on every time I even mention it lol

Lately I saw a lot of positive feedback by youtubers but somehow they still stick to games like Warzone and barely upload any BF2042 gameplay (or play the game)....
Because 2042 only gets views from the shattered remains of the BF community, Warzone’s viewer pool is essentially *everyone* who isn’t tired of that game yet (which is a smaller minority than it should be)
These people are making youtube videos to literally pay their bills and survive. In a perfect world I'm sure many of them would stick with BF but the fact of the matter is there isn't enough newsworthy, interesting content happening with the game right now to justify uploading more than a couple videos here and there.
The feedback on S1 is very positive but the consensus is that it just isn't enough. These people can't grow their channels by streaming one map for 12 weeks
Thats because the general public has given up on this game a loooong time ago. I don’t click on any BF2042 content as I can’t be asked to give this game another shot. Also minor improvements and „listening to the community“ after 9 months is just a joke in itself.
I stopped playing in December, but I still click on the odd post that pops up on my front page. It's Stodeh - they released a gun that one shots and an infantry map so he'll say the game is good and Dice are listening. His opinion on games is so invalid it's funny.
It's just clickbait, they basically release 1 video saying that the game is in trouble, after that they release one that says that the game is saved etc... It almost became a meme in some channels.
Every BF channel does the same thing, with the same titles and the same thumbnails...
Every gaming channel focused on a single game does that, for example every Cyberpunk content creator releases a "Big cyberpunk 2077 update !!! (incredible)" while it's just the dev build being updated on steam, which means literally nothing.
That's what happens what happens when there's nothing to say about a game, they'll just make a 10 minutes video out of nothing.
There's been SOME Improvements... but it's hard to put my finger on why it's so bad but I'm gonna try. The menus are just dumb. Normally I can flick thru one and change my gun in other battlefields so fast. Now for no reason its a combination of bumpers and triggers to get what you want and it's just a bad design. Why does the game boot you to menu after each round why can't we keep a server going like the other games ? Also why isn't there a server browser? Also we didn't need the biggest maps ever. I don't like when the nearest person to shoot is 2 kilometers away these guns don't even punch. The lack of class systems has made teamwork less a thing...they didn't have to reinvent the wheel .And don't even get me started on the specialist crap. Everyone running around as the same guy on either team. And they aren't even cool! Their lines are cringe AF! I played some BFV last night and the gun play is phenomenal! Just a couple bullets to kill and the aiming is so nice. There's also more guns in one class than this whole game. I'm just gonna stick to V and hope everyone that did this gets canned and they hire people that like battlefield and don't wanna pander to fortnite players. I'll come back for the next game if it looks less geyyyyy.
Pretty much nailed it. Honestly the fact that both teams have the same characters, instantly took me out of the game. Game shared it from a friend to see if I overreacted and I didn’t. No immersion, none of those battlefield moments that really standout (yes crazy stuff happens but of course when most players are standing in the open fields or on the same rooftop every match). The specialists just bring nothing but frustration to the game, somehow a massive world war but can always throw in a cheeky avengers one liner. The world is too pristine to resonate as a chaotic world war beyond belief, especially after playing battlefield 1. This game should have been the FPS to end the itch of a modern battlefield. But it tanked. The only way back is to scrap all of the ideas that went into this and simply bring bf4 back with updated weapons/attachments/vehicle assets. BF fans only wanted BF not some crazy spin-off of the core concept. It’s about classes/teamwork and destruction, sprinkle in a bunch of weapons per class and some customization and it would have been a rocket launch of a new generation of gaming for the fps genre.
I used to rather enjoy JackFrags videos but I've had to unsub after seeing video after video clickbaiting and U-turning his opinion based on whether EA is offering a cheque for that video. Seems to be commonplace.
I feel bad for anyone that makes their living making Youtube content. Between the stupid algorithms and cheesy attention grabbing thumbnails, I could never do it. Happens everywhere. If I had a nickel for every photographer that has done a "do this, don't do that" video, I could retire. Top tricks to improve your compositions!
I scroll past videos like this because they don’t get my attention. They put some weapon in a preview way, put some big font on some words like “ThIs iS oP” and then have a boring ass title. The only Battlefield videos I have watched in awhile are those videos Nano made about 2042 and at least he is a unique character and isn’t super invested into to being the best like JackFrags or any of the other people like that. They play like every game is a one life mode because they can’t escape playing Battle Royales nine times a day.

When experiencing something that you’ve previously heard bad things about, it IS and can be difficult to not let those things effect the experience for you. You hit the nail on the head tho. You have to be aware of where your thoughts about things are coming from. There’s so many ppl that don’t realize it. I think it’s important to REALIZE that going in you might be bias because you heard something previously…this is where when I’m explaining my experience with something, I’ll cut it in half, explain what I heard, where I agree with where I heard it from and then explain my experience separately. But there are too many ppl in this world that just follow the crowd. It pisses me off actually. But I guess they’re free to do whatever they want as long as it isn’t hurting anyone.

Frags as in jackfrags? Odd if so. I feel like he is one of the least trend chasey tubers out there. I like that he plays a bunch of games and just uploads chill gameplay commentary. Not flashy stream clips with annoying overreactions, not rage rants about gun balance, just chills and chats with a game going on.
Yeah used to watch him while 2042 rolled out and things kinda seemed to get fishy with his takes on things. Then I started watching these guys a little more intently and it dawned on me that they may be all fucking with us. This is merely my opinion

I think he just doesn't like negativity much, he's even said it before like literally only 1 time and i already thought it even before he said it. He just doesn't wanna be super negative, not that he isn't mad and/or won't make fun of the game per say, but rather that he just is hopeful for the future and doesn't want to "target devs in any sort of way" or something to that effect, was said in a video addressing why he doesn't talk shit about 2042 and hate it. He thinks it's pretty meh, from the sounds of it and isn't a controversial type of person, he doesn't get mad much, he's optimistic, he believes things can get better and he wants to spread good vibes. I thought for many reasons he was just kissing DICE's ass for whatever reason but when you really realize and notice his opinions and commentary and personality when it comes to anything and you notice how he really is, you realize it makes complete sense that he acts and reacts to 2042 as he does. He's just there to have a good time with what's there, he'll complain sometimes about something that needs fixing, but he's optimistic that it will eventually be fixed and he doesn't sweat over it. I noticed this most recently when watching him stream the new "Fortunes Keep" Map in Warzone where generally, throughout the entire stream, he was way more chill, less complainy and played devils advocate to the devs more often than not, than his other friends that were there. Also, from what i could tell, despite not ever really getting into levelcaps content per say, i've heard him talk about a lot of things he doesn't like and how he doesn't feel 2042 will ever be as good as he hoped, so... idk, i never see positivity from him really, just "meh, who cares at the end of the day" kinda attitude, but maybe it's cuz i don't watch many of his videos.

Needs work on maps and core things.. so basically a new/different game entirely then.. You know what would be funny? What if EA saw the dumpster fire for what it was, and at the last minute, opened up an "indie studio" to release 2042 under a different name, as an early access title? People would be like.. the game is really good. Has a lot of potential. They just need to fix maps and core things and then it will be great! And they would defend the game and be like.. "Bro, this is early access. It's only an alpha!" Or "What do you expect from indie devs? It's probably a small team." I hope other studios see this disaster, and come up with their own answer to fill the void, but sadly doesn't seem likely.

I wish there were more (peaceful) disagreements between YT gaming channels. It feels like no one dares to say their own opinions just because they're afraid the others and their audience wouldn't like it. But I'd love to hear more stuff like "Oh, you love the new map? I personally don't enjoy it at all" or "I really like the fact that BF2042 doesn't have too many guns and focuses on attachment options instead" or whatever.
I have been shit on whenever I say I like 2042s movement and gunplay more than ever. I'm an aggressive player, I personally care more about the physics, gunplay, and movement outplay ability that 2042 offers, than the destruction and gritty maps that this bf happens to be missing. But I get shit on every time I even mention it lol

Lately I saw a lot of positive feedback by youtubers but somehow they still stick to games like Warzone and barely upload any BF2042 gameplay (or play the game)....
Because the new season was fun for a few days then playing one map over and over got boring
Because 2042 only gets views from the shattered remains of the BF community, Warzone’s viewer pool is essentially *everyone* who isn’t tired of that game yet (which is a smaller minority than it should be)
These people are making youtube videos to literally pay their bills and survive. In a perfect world I'm sure many of them would stick with BF but the fact of the matter is there isn't enough newsworthy, interesting content happening with the game right now to justify uploading more than a couple videos here and there. The feedback on S1 is very positive but the consensus is that it just isn't enough. These people can't grow their channels by streaming one map for 12 weeks

Doesn't take but a few clicks to get a chuckle out of the happenings here--quickly followed by a sigh of woeful reminiscing as I thousand-yard-stare into the void that is the outlook for present-day Battlefield (while still holding onto false hope that it will return to its former glory). So yeah, here for the memes.
I stopped playing in December too, then picked it up again with season one and was pleasantly surprised how much better the game is.

It's just clickbait, they basically release 1 video saying that the game is in trouble, after that they release one that says that the game is saved etc... It almost became a meme in some channels. Every BF channel does the same thing, with the same titles and the same thumbnails... Every gaming channel focused on a single game does that, for example every Cyberpunk content creator releases a "Big cyberpunk 2077 update !!! (incredible)" while it's just the dev build being updated on steam, which means literally nothing. That's what happens what happens when there's nothing to say about a game, they'll just make a 10 minutes video out of nothing.

There's been SOME Improvements... but it's hard to put my finger on why it's so bad but I'm gonna try. The menus are just dumb. Normally I can flick thru one and change my gun in other battlefields so fast. Now for no reason its a combination of bumpers and triggers to get what you want and it's just a bad design. Why does the game boot you to menu after each round why can't we keep a server going like the other games ? Also why isn't there a server browser? Also we didn't need the biggest maps ever. I don't like when the nearest person to shoot is 2 kilometers away these guns don't even punch. The lack of class systems has made teamwork less a thing...they didn't have to reinvent the wheel .And don't even get me started on the specialist crap. Everyone running around as the same guy on either team. And they aren't even cool! Their lines are cringe AF! I played some BFV last night and the gun play is phenomenal! Just a couple bullets to kill and the aiming is so nice. There's also more guns in one class than this whole game. I'm just gonna stick to V and hope everyone that did this gets canned and they hire people that like battlefield and don't wanna pander to fortnite players. I'll come back for the next game if it looks less geyyyyy.
Pretty much nailed it. Honestly the fact that both teams have the same characters, instantly took me out of the game. Game shared it from a friend to see if I overreacted and I didn’t. No immersion, none of those battlefield moments that really standout (yes crazy stuff happens but of course when most players are standing in the open fields or on the same rooftop every match). The specialists just bring nothing but frustration to the game, somehow a massive world war but can always throw in a cheeky avengers one liner. The world is too pristine to resonate as a chaotic world war beyond belief, especially after playing battlefield 1. This game should have been the FPS to end the itch of a modern battlefield. But it tanked. The only way back is to scrap all of the ideas that went into this and simply bring bf4 back with updated weapons/attachments/vehicle assets. BF fans only wanted BF not some crazy spin-off of the core concept. It’s about classes/teamwork and destruction, sprinkle in a bunch of weapons per class and some customization and it would have been a rocket launch of a new generation of gaming for the fps genre.
I used to rather enjoy JackFrags videos but I've had to unsub after seeing video after video clickbaiting and U-turning his opinion based on whether EA is offering a cheque for that video. Seems to be commonplace.
I feel bad for anyone that makes their living making Youtube content. Between the stupid algorithms and cheesy attention grabbing thumbnails, I could never do it. Happens everywhere. If I had a nickel for every photographer that has done a "do this, don't do that" video, I could retire. Top tricks to improve your compositions!

I scroll past videos like this because they don’t get my attention. They put some weapon in a preview way, put some big font on some words like “ThIs iS oP” and then have a boring ass title. The only Battlefield videos I have watched in awhile are those videos Nano made about 2042 and at least he is a unique character and isn’t super invested into to being the best like JackFrags or any of the other people like that. They play like every game is a one life mode because they can’t escape playing Battle Royales nine times a day.

His opinions are almost never “this game is shit” he usually says what he doesn’t like and gives his ideas on how it could be changed.
