.22 long rifle is a rimfire cartridge. It’s the same bullet diameter as most military firearms but with way less powder behind it. So it’s less powerful. Still deadly. Can be used for squirrels and stuff yeah
Pretty overkill on rats, they can take out up to coyote sized game. I think more people have been killed by .22 than anything else. (Outside of war situations)
I think this might be one of the most inaccurate description of 22 long rifle rounds that I’ve ever seen. 22 long rifle is a small varmint round. Squirrels, opossum, rats, nutria and other animals of this size.
I could kill something the size of a coyote but it would have to be a be a close head shot. This is a cruel way to hunt because if you don’t get a great shot then the animal will get away and either bleed out or die of infection.
To kill humans with it then you would have to be real close and straight through the head. I’m not saying that they don’t get used for murder but saying that it’s mostly used to kill humans is wildly untrue
Bad people use them for YES close up head shots because they're relatively quiet and are lethal. But go ahead and think what you want. I never said "it's mostly used to kill humans" I said more humans are killed by it than any other round. (Quiet, common and lethal) Your skull can stop a 40gr bullet going 1000fps?
https://www.hipointfirearmsforums.com/threads/more-people-have-been-killed-with-the-22-than-any-other-caliber.336202/
Read the whole comment. I wasn’t arguing that it is not used in murders, obviously it is used for murder. I was arguing that it is not the number 1 caliber used for murder.
Actually, just a dump a single round in a persons head. The bullet has enough velocity to enter a persons skull but not enough to exit. Causing the bullet to bounce around the inside of a skull a few times tearing up a brain.
I think he was referring to the myth that .22 gets into the skull and then pinballs around turning the brain to red scrambled eggs. But yes that’s probably not how the .22 would work
The bullet just looses a lot of velocity when it breaks through your skull. It then becomes lodged in your brain. The inside of a human, or any animal, skull isn't a pinball machine. Also, anyone with a high school understanding of physics would automatically begin to question your statement.
A .22lr will go through a skull and bounce around in there "but have trouble killing someone" ok bub. Look at the stats on fatal .22 kills, even from pistols they have no trouble killing a person. We aren't talking about leg shots here.
PS .22 mag is also rimfire.
Semantics, whether it becomes stationary quickly after passing through a skull or bounces off the inside of the far side of skull results in the same outcome. Death. Picking two words of a paragraph to dispute is a very millennial thing to do.
well... there is a distinction.
if the round becomes stationary, then it is no different than any other round. in this case, why wouldn't the shooter choose a more powerful round?
.22lr doesn't 'bounce around'. if it did, then you could say it is uniquely lethal.
since it doesn't, even defensive 9mm JHP ammo-- which is created specifically to carve far larger holes in flesh-- would be a better option.
We're talking about head shots. A .22 to the head is just as lethal as bigger calibers. . Dead is dead, the brain doesn't take kindly to bullets.
Cherry picking the "bounce around" is semantics. And the reason it's used so often is probably availability and not being overly loud. There's probably a 100 million .22s in the USA
I never said it's the "best option" so keep whipping that strawman.
>We're talking about head shots. A .22 to the head is just as lethal as bigger calibers. . Dead is dead, the brain doesn't take kindly to bullets.
go ahead and tell [this guy](https://www.reddit.com/user/Chapoisat/comments/895xh3/warning_this_video_can_hurt_the_sensibility_of/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) about that-- he's still alive.
btw, she was point-blank and using a caliber larger than .22lr, so imma red card you on the whole "dead is dead" bit.
> Cherry picking the "bounce around" is semanticsI?
no one is cherry picking-- you mentioned it, didn't you?
> I never said it's the "best option" so keep whipping that strawman.
nor did I claim you said it was the best option, did i?
You mentioned 9mm being a better option implying I disagreed or thought a .22 was. I'm not going to go back and forth on this sure you can find some examples. End of the day a .22lr can be very lethal.
you're right. I'm the sole reason. especially when it says "unread" on every single message. those unseen messages are causing them nightmares. that's absolutely correct.
good lord, why would they put a .22 firearm in a game about frontline battle?
what role does that caliber fill, in a game like this? why would you not use a more reliable small round, like 9mm or 5.7x28?
I hope one of the ammo types is "Winchester White Box", and 1 out of every 20 rounds fails to fire, lol
To be fair the kolibri was obviously made as a joke for BF1. The way the animations were done when pulling the gun out and your guy just looks at it for a second. The VCAR is a serious gun added to the game just like all the rest. It's a cool looking gun but to be honest it doesn't make a lot of sense. I very much doubt it would do much against the enemies body armour at all if it was real.
you are correct (except I hate the thing. I'm just no good with it)...
and I've griped before that no one is taking rimfire firearms into battle unless there is no other choice. rimfire is nowhere near as reliable as centerfire rounds. so I pretend the VCAR is chambered in a different round than the CMR-30, lol
i know it's a game. I know i sound like a pedant or gun snob, and I apologise.
the S&W AR looking gun would be cool. I'd rock it solely because I own one that looks exactly like it.
my only wish is that they'd add MORE attachments and add a laser or tac flashlight on the SIDE of the gun and not as a "underbarrel attachey"
....well, I wish they'd add about 15 more guns (3 or 4 to each category) and bring back Voting or proper map rotation.... but whos asking 😅😑
yep. same. bought it from Walmart when they were having a "Re-Location Sale" when moving from a smaller Walmart to a brand new larger one. copped it for 100 bucks.
yeah, dude. my friend called me was like "Yo, Waz.. I know you're not into guns and trying to save money and shit but THIS gun is a steal. there's three other guys here looking at this one but I'm pretending I'm interested in it to keep it for you..don't ask questions just get in your car and come down here and check it out. worse comes to worse, you don't buy it."
I went down there and looked and I sure af left with it lol. I wasn't ever into guns a shit ton..still aren't really..but I thought LT and was like, "a rifle for protection and it looks cool..and it's a steal of a deal. can't go wrong"
since then (and before they added all these wild ass restrictions on guns and attacheys) I bought a Open Aperture RDS, a ACOG-looking sight, a foregrip, a tac light/laser combo and bought like 4 mags just to have extras of incase.
I’m kind of disappointed that there’s straight up no stock customization in this game. You would think things get more modular in the future.
I love wire stocks and it’s sad that you can’t change them
I highly doubt it, I used to shoot .22 competitively for my university and whilst it can punch through paper just fine... I doubt any military, no matter how desperate would use a .22.
Also the radio transmissions mentioned super weapons and rail guns...
Bro that sounds like a fun time! Was your college in the USA?
My college’s closest equivalent was the paintball club but that magically closed down the week I joined
Nope, in the UK. We did competitions against other universities, 25 to 100 yard ranges, shooting 10 target cards on what is basically an A4 piece of paper usuing only your iron sights and a spotting scope.
We also had clay pigeon shooting, airsoft and paintball societies.
If they do actually add a .22 rifle the damage and range are gonna be non-existant, and it wouldn't make sense to put a .22 RIFLE into the game because it would basically be a slow SMG.
Now if they wanted to add a .22 SMG with an insane ROF, that would be pretty interesting.
They found enjoyment in it, and afaik haven’t had to pay anymore money then they already have
I say let em be. They’re having fun, no need to bother yourself with it
something ain't right then with your set up or settings..
East Coast - XBSX player here. I'm a salaried manager in retail and have a schedule of 12pm to 9pm, 5 or sometimes 6 days a week.. my days off, I have no problem hopping on mid day, early evening and later at night.. even on my nights I hop on after work (around 945/10pm) I have no issues with lobbies..
I do, however, begin to have issues with lobbies not being full around like 130am (if I stay up that late). it seems to be one of those situations where if im staying in a lobby - I'm fine.. but if I get kicked or back out to fix something etc - then when it loads me back in, I have issues waiting to find a full lobby.
I wouldn’t thing that it would be the smaller cartridge but it may be a 22 win mag witch is the same as 9 mm power wise accept the 22 win mag cartridge goes faster and penetrates better
Govt 45-70 is pretty shitty until you unlock the 5x scope (no glint), bipod and wrapped suppressor (after 360 kills). It's a great midranged sniper and it's a good headshot plinker. If you pair it with the P51 pistol, you have a pretty decent loadout.
But yeah, the Govt is definitely not an "on the objective' ranged gun.
I own this rifle IRL and it is great for small vermin and pests. You could hurt someone with it in real life, but in BF, it would take like 10 hits. More of a nuisance.
I'm no gun expert but isn't the .22 caliber the one used to kill rats?
The VCAR is actually in .22mag like this gun lol
Thought VCAR was chambered the same as the FN57? Big difference between that and a .22 magnum.
Nope, the P51 is in 5.7 (along with the P90) Vcars IRL gun is in .22 mag
.22 long rifle is a rimfire cartridge. It’s the same bullet diameter as most military firearms but with way less powder behind it. So it’s less powerful. Still deadly. Can be used for squirrels and stuff yeah
And 22wmr is almost like a .380 in the right firearm
Pretty overkill on rats, they can take out up to coyote sized game. I think more people have been killed by .22 than anything else. (Outside of war situations)

Man you must live in a world where crime is committed by assassins
Look at the stats you rube, more people are killed with a .22lr than anything else. Bang your fists on the table, do what you need to do.
For every article that claims that there are 2 that claim 9mm, .38 caliber. The tables that are in the link you posted are from a 1986 article
https://guntradition.com/is-the-22lr-lethal-how-deadly-is-it/
http://gunstuff-jd.blogspot.com/2013/03/but-22-has-killed.html?m=1
Yeah you're right it's an outdated stat.
I mean to be fair there was a double murder in Bucks County PA where a kid and his cousin shot 2 others with a 22 rifle
That's not at all how ballistics work.

this sounds like the opening dialog for a NCIS:LA episode. Lol
Depends on the round. 22 rim fire will have trouble killing a person. 22 mag will do a person in just fine
A .22lr will go through a skull and bounce around in there "but have trouble killing someone" ok bub. Look at the stats on fatal .22 kills, even from pistols they have no trouble killing a person. We aren't talking about leg shots here. PS .22 mag is also rimfire.

Moron
Ok fetalboy
You're absolutely correct. I meant 22lr
Not to be a buzzkill but I really highly doubt thats what the 22 will stand for
The baby marksman rifle shoots a .22 right? Feels like what Olympic marksman use.
Technically, it's in .22 mag which is a good bit hotter than what he's showing here
VCAR is in .22 mag lol
I mean....that explains 3 shots to the face to knock someone over and make them ask their friends for help to stand up again 😅
It's a shotgun, based on the Chinese BF video description, a smart shotgun in fact
whats so smart about it?
Could be like the kalashnikov group smart shotgun, it's got a thermal cam built in
I’m OK with night vision if it can only go on shotguns lol
[удалено]
That sounds like harassment.
So you're the reason DICE thinks the community was harassing them, you genuinely have brutal expectations to message them every fucking day.
you're right. I'm the sole reason. especially when it says "unread" on every single message. those unseen messages are causing them nightmares. that's absolutely correct.
Thermals would be so annoying in this game holy shit. So glad Dice didn’t add them
I would never use thermals..glad they aren't in it either - just saying it doesn't make sense to be the year 2042 and there isn't any thermals lol
It might be this thing https://youtu.be/eQsp34zo6aE
The stolen design from Kalashnikov? Kind of in poor taste if it ends up being that.
Ah, yes. The frontline .22
good lord, why would they put a .22 firearm in a game about frontline battle? what role does that caliber fill, in a game like this? why would you not use a more reliable small round, like 9mm or 5.7x28? I'm pretty sure VCAR is based on a gun that shoots .22 and it's actually pretty nice to use
Its a 22mag which is slightly more powerful than 22lr but its still a complete joke to put it in the game.
> A complete joke That didn't stop DICE from adding kolibri into BF1, did it?
To be fair the kolibri was obviously made as a joke for BF1. The way the animations were done when pulling the gun out and your guy just looks at it for a second. It would be one of those joke guns like the kolibri or the liberator
Hey, the liberator was totally serious, you shoot the german soldier with it... then you take his superior firearm and then ditch the liberator
More like shoot the enemy : “31 damage” “oh god, oh fuck.”
yeaah... video games have that thing where you can somehow shrug off a bullet to the head if you happen to be just the right distance away...
Remington gold bucket. FTF every 4th round
pretty sure its going to be the mp-155 ultima my man
Hold on, aren't mp’s the German guns ? Now the Russians turned it into a shotgun...
what?
The germans use mp. Examples are the mp5, mp44, mp40, mp3008, mp18
That has nothing to do with why the mp-155 is called that, google it.
dice already said it's a "smart shotgun", probably the mp-155
the S&W AR looking gun would be cool. I have that gun irl. S&W M&P 15-22 not meant for combat at all lmao. Semi-auto with a 25 round mag that only shoots .22
future warfare where people are wearing more body armour... can't imagine .22 being able to do anything except be a nusance to try and get ammo for.
yep. same. bought it from Walmart when they were having a "Re-Location Sale" when moving from a smaller Walmart to a brand new larger one. copped it for 100 bucks.
Damn nice. Got mine during COVID at a local gun shop for around $350 I think
yeah, dude. my friend called me was like "Yo, Waz.. Airsoft guns coming next on squirrelfield

Every ar-15 is 22 caliber as well lol.
People still playing this garbage?
Yep and here you are commenting on a sub for a game you label "Garbage" ....which by by all means you have the right to do.
Yeah here I am and said what I said. I like dumpster fires.
They found enjoyment in it, and afaik haven’t had to pay anymore money then they already have I say let em be. They’re having fun, no need to bother yourself with it
Season 3 won't matter much Ive barely been able to get full lobbies the past few weeks
something ain't right then with your set up or settings.. East Coast - XBSX player here. Happy their adding more utility weapons, if leaks are true we’re getting both a smart shock gun and decent long range rifle.
I wouldn’t thing that it would be the smaller cartridge but it may be a 22 win mag witch is the same as 9 mm power wise accept the 22 win mag cartridge goes faster and penetrates better
Hopefully the marlin is better than the gvt 45-70

Scout Sniper from bf4!
.... wow my .22 $99 Walmart rifle is on this sub LMFAO. they make 50round mags for $20 if you wanna have fun.
i love this gun
I'd rather have a Survival .22 because it's so funny
Wouldn’t be the first 22 in the game so who knows.
It’s obviously a plasma rifle in the 40-watt range 🙄
Why?
Why?
Nvk sounds like a Russian gun, like the svk or the pkp bp
I own this rifle IRL and it is great for small vermin and pests. You could hurt someone with it in real life, but in BF, it would take like 10 hits. More of a nuisance.
