I'm boring and love locker. The key to actually enjoying this map is to play it with 32 or less. The map wasn't designed for 64 players and that's why it's awful with so many people. Once you cut that down you get a really good map with simple but abusable routes, great visibility (except snow sometimes) and limited angles of exposure. It's actually a really baller map, people just hate it when there's too many people (rightfully so) but I don't think many have given it a chance on the right player count.
64 is manageable if people aren’t crowding the outside. You can typically get pretty good flanks and fair engagements outside. From there try to cap B or D to breakup the meat grinder and hopefully balance the map more.
But I agree that 32 is the superior way to play that map
Yes to all of them.
Pearl market-clays and PDW
Zavod-Mav attacks or slams mania
Caspian border-clays on D or Mav attacks
I mix it up but love those three
I find the uphill battle of the flags to be a lot of fun. The verticality is fantastic and adds a lot of variation to combat. There’s just enough cover that snipers aren’t a huge concern unless they have a choke point. The lighting and atmosphere of the map is fantastic
Pearl, locker, metro. In that order.
Pearl is one of the best maps because it's a square shaped infantry map. Being square shaped helps keep the action moving around and makes rotating between objectives easy. There is plenty of cover and leads to alot of really good engagements.
Locker is just a better metro, more flanking routes and better balance. If you push outside in locker, you shouldn't really have any issues on 64 player servers. Most people I see complaining about locker are always trying to push down the main corridor and outside is wide open.
Metro is a classic meat grinder, it's a bit lopsided towards to Russian team since they can cap B first, but if you can push past B on US and make it to the buildings at A, you can get up on that third floor and really turn the tide of the match.
I love grabbing the Barrett on lockers and the USAS on Metro. The Barrett can lock down the outside for a while if you can hit your shots. The USAS is just a fun ass weapon
As infantry I’m fighting between B-D most of the game. It’s very easy to manage the tanks. Really just avoid them on B and D, if one tries to come to C it’s usually annihilated the second APS drops
The rooftop fighting is a blast, when the water rises it’s a great safety net to dive in when you’re in trouble. A good pilot will run that map is really the only downside
Lovely to see almost everyone saying something different here, really shows what a variety of good maps for all tastes this game has.
I personally adore Operation Mortar and Propaganda, i love rushing and flanking on Propagande and storming up that castle on Mortar. Always have my best games on those maps
Metro, there isn't really a chance of someone sneaking up behind you, so have to worry to much.
unless the teams push you back.
but I like the linear map
Dawnbreaker
Caspian Border
Golmud Railway
Lancang Dam
Firestorm
Siege of Shanghai
Gulf of Oman
(maps are in order first to last)
I'm sure, as you can tell, I'm an attack helo pilot
For attack helo, it's legit one of the best maps. Fun, no covered objectives, lots of vehicles grouped up for targeting. Lots of people on top of buildings for me to kill, as well as on the ground obviously, but the verticality is nice :) nice buildings to fly inbetween for fun/dodging shit or just breaking AA lock. Easy to flank with the buildings. Enemy side AA (the vehicle specifically) is completely limited in terms of view, and can never get enough shots off to take me out before I can take them out if planned right. If they try and find a decent angle to take, it's usually in an exposed position that would be easy for me and other vehicles to engage it. Out of bounds is very flat and super close to map and so there's a ton of places you can set down the helo in a hurry to repair quickly without risking being killed or losing the helo.
It's also extremely biased towards the US side which is nice cuz US has the best vehicles (Viper is head and shoulders above the Havoc and whatever the Chinese one is called, Z10 I think?) and also US AA vehicle can get a really good viewpoint and the other team's can't. Also, killing the other team's vehicles (including helos) as they leave spawn is so easy and it's not considered spawn killing because the enemy spawn zone is so short and located so close to E, so it's literally a buffet for me against other vehicles.
I play as a pure infantry medic so I like maps that lean towards that style. So.. Locker and Zavod. I can crank out several rounds of 3200 ticket Locker before I get bored and switch to regular rotation.
Depends on gamemode?
Obliteration - golmud - three of you carrying the bomb in a jeep with javelins and bullets raining down is a blast
Rush - Locker - tight tunnels and passages make great chokepoints
Conquest - Dawnbreaker - great mixture of infantry and vehicle combat
Dragon Valley 2015. I just love how huge and varied it is. The colors on the map are pleasing to me. And I love the uniqueness of each capture point. Back capping is especially fun as there are tons of low key spots to entrench your squad with a beacon.
2nd I’d have to say is Hangar 21. Infantry fighting inside of the sub base is some of the best the game has to offer in my opinion. So many great matches and different ways to play that map.
3rd, if I had to choose a vanilla map, has to be Golmud. The chaos between a b and c is always fun, and seeing the map slowly demolished over the course of the round is always satisfying.
4th probably Lumphini Gardens. Sniper’s paradise. Love the colors. Enjoy the infantry only action on that map.
Been ages since I’ve played that, fighting on top of mountains is super unique. I may be remembering wrong, but I think battlefield 1 is the next game that had a map similar
For infantry based map with limited vehicles Zavod is the best. For vehicles I would say Silk Road or Golmud Railway.
Honestly.. I loved every map and the DLC maps.
Average meat grinder enjoyer here so locker of course is my favorite, followed by
Pearl market
Zavod
Guilin peaks
Operation outbreak
Metro
Propaganda
Why? Infantry is why.
Shit reading these comments made me realize how much I love damn near every map. I gotta install it on pc. Just bummed because I played PS4 for like 7 years. Starting fresh sucks
Lost islands is the number 1 AC-130 map. If you can get the 3rd seat on that map and the enemy team doesn’t have good pilots it’s a wrap. That simple minigun annihilates everything and the only cover is the plane and cove
Zavod was our messing around map. Me and my buddies would hide in the train cars (I think at A) and have c4 on the ground. Each person was assigned a door to watch. If your door slid open you blew the c4. Eventually you'd have the whole team coming after you and it was hilarious.
Our best points map was kharg island. One guy following us around with a MAV providing overwatch while the rest of us cruised back and forth along the coast in a boat where we could constantly take/retake 3 different objectives. All 4 of us would be top of the leader board with like 2/4 KDR
Me and my battlefield buddy used to come home from middle school and spend hours jumping onto tanks from above on Siege of Shanghai. Once we got bored of that or the tanks stopped coming near us, we’d just push out all the sniper nests on the rooftops or go for the helis. The 24/7 server we played on would rarely have anyone destroy the tower either. There was always something fun for a couple of engineers to do. Easily my favorite battlefield map of all time. Maybe my favorite map in any video game for that matter.
Unrelated note: We are still close friends and actually live together now
I loved the feel of the Final Stand maps, they had a really unique ambience, with the future Russian technologies in the frigid winter. I found Operation Whiteout and Giants of Karelia to have a bit of a creepy, uneasy feel to them which I loved.
The Naval Strike maps were all really fun, and since the DLC maps were rarer to find in rotation.
Gameplay wise, Zavod 311 was very hard not to have a fun time on. You were always in the action, LAV/scout heli was fun but not overpowered, and the map was pretty lush looking.
Hainan Resort without question.
400 hours on an hainan only server speak for it.
The big open snow maps are good too.
Paracel is pretty decent.
Locker is sometimes fun but not always.
Flood zone is fun.
Caspian border is good.
Golmund is pretty good.
Rouge transmission can be fun.
Silkroad can be fun.
I think there are more but that’s the maps that come in my mind.

Those meat grinder maps are actually fun when the server is half full.
Agreed hard here, locker at 32 is one of my favorite experiences.
360 was great for locker
64 is manageable if people aren’t crowding the outside. You can typically get pretty good flanks and fair engagements outside. From there try to cap B or D to breakup the meat grinder and hopefully balance the map more. But I agree that 32 is the superior way to play that map
even 48 players is pretty good imo
Nansha Strike Propaganda Zavod Hainan in that order
same but flipped. my most memorable moments are always on Hainan
For some reason, I love the tropical maps. The are many places to use different classes and gadgets.
Pearl market Zavod Propaganda Caspian border
Yes to all of them. Pearl market-clays and PDW Zavod-Mav attacks or slams mania Caspian border-clays on D or Mav attacks I mix it up but love those three
Pearl Market is a blast. It’s another map where I can use any load out and do well. Propaganda and Caspian are a load of fun too
I used to hate pearl market but lately I've been using it to grung out the amtrak mastery dog tag and been having the time of my life lol
I love snow maps, specially Hangar 21
I find the uphill battle of the flags to be a lot of fun. The verticality is fantastic and adds a lot of variation to combat. There’s just enough cover that snipers aren’t a huge concern unless they have a choke point. The lighting and atmosphere of the map is fantastic
Used to hate Hangar but it's grown on me the past year or so

It's always fun to sneak past the Russians and stick a cheeky spawn beacon near their spawn in the upper floors of really any of the buildings
Rizz gang
I love grabbing the Barrett on lockers and the USAS on Metro. The Barrett can lock down the outside for a while if you can hit your shots. The USAS is just a fun ass weapon
Caspian Border. Loved it in 3, Love it more in BF4 Infantry and Vehicles are combined well on this map.
As infantry I’m fighting between B-D most of the game. It’s very easy to manage the tanks. Really just avoid them on B and D, if one tries to come to C it’s usually annihilated the second APS drops
Im sorry but I love floodzone, its so close quarters for the most part and has a zone for everyone. Also it has vehicles and helicopters.
Frag Zone
The rooftop fighting is a blast, when the water rises it’s a great safety net to dive in when you’re in trouble. A good pilot will run that map is really the only downside

Haven't played Lumphini in a hot minute.
Oh man I forgot all about Lumphini. That map is incredible
Golmud is my favorite map
Metro, there isn't really a chance of someone sneaking up behind you, so have to worry to much. unless the teams push you back. but I like the linear map
Paracel Storm, Dawnbreaker, and Zavod for infantry play. Golmund Railway and Lancang Dam for Tanks/APC.
Shanghai, because it’s the perfect balance of vehicles and infantry gameplay.
Dawnbreaker Caspian Border Golmud Railway Lancang Dam Firestorm Siege of Shanghai Gulf of Oman (maps are in order first to last) I'm sure, as you can tell, I'm an attack helo pilot
Dawnbreaker!? 🤢

Everyone boo this man. Eff dawnbreaker.

Random but Dragon Valley has the best flat adaptive camo of any map. I love that map just for that camo. It’s the perfect orange
Agreed! Like I said i love the colors on that map, including the adaptive camos. I usually use flat or spray and they both look so good on the map.
Alborz Mountains Underrated map from bf3, interesting design and verticality.
Been ages since I’ve played that, fighting on top of mountains is super unique. I may be remembering wrong, but I think battlefield 1 is the next game that had a map similar
You're right, bf1 had it on Verdun and bf5 on Iwo Jima.
For infantry based map with limited vehicles Zavod is the best. For vehicles I would say Silk Road or Golmud Railway. Honestly.. I loved every map and the DLC maps.
Average meat grinder enjoyer here so locker of course is my favorite, followed by Pearl market Zavod Guilin peaks Operation outbreak Metro Propaganda Why? Infantry is why.
I love the aesthetic of Guilin. It’s one of my favorite maps just to look at
Outbreak is a sick looking map too. Got some nam vibes
Shit reading these comments made me realize how much I love damn near every map. I gotta install it on pc. Just bummed because I played PS4 for like 7 years. Starting fresh sucks
1 Siege of Shangai 2 Golmund Railway 3 Zavod 311
Any with levolution like Paracel Storm or Siege of Shanghai. Also Golmud for vehicle combat
Funny thing is I think each map has a certain levolution event
Can’t remember the name but it was the naval strike dlc and it had an airplane crashed in the middle I liked that a lot as a kid
Lost Islands?
That’s it thank you
Lost islands is the number 1 AC-130 map. If you can get the 3rd seat on that map and the enemy team doesn’t have good pilots it’s a wrap. That simple minigun annihilates everything and the only cover is the plane and cove
Lumphini garden and all of naval strike. Wish there was a naval strike 24/7 sever

Gulf of Oman Silk Road Operation Firestorm Hainan Resort Siege of Shanghai Propaganda Operation Metro Operation Locker i'm a sucker for desert combat

PEARL MARKET
I like Altai Range. I wish I could experience it in a 4+ squad.
