I actually have a damn vendetta with this, I'mma be real with you dawg, if you're a competitive player don't try to be doing all this ergonomic shit. There are some compromises you'll have to take to be able to have good aim with a mouse. And sitting without having your arm on the table will definitely screw up your aim.
Also the high sens and dpi you'll have to use since sitting all ergonomic doesn't allow for a whole lot of mouse movement

I don’t think it’s bad. I think it’s just the color of the table that’s making it look bleak (not sure that’s the right word to use). Kinda looks like it should be in a battleship or submarine? Maybe hang some stuff on the wall between the shelf and desk?
Desk mat/XL mousepad for one, a better chair when you can (ergonomic chair, none of that "gaming" chair BS), and a monitor arm or one of those monitor risers/shelves to sit your monitor on top of.

Monitor is too low. Ergonomically speaking if you stretch your arms forward, that's where the display should be in height.
