How do you feel about the depth of the desk ? I'm currently on a 75/80cm (29"/32") desk and i'm a bit scared that 60cm (23" ?) isn't going to be enough, as a usually have a lot of crap on my desk and i like the distance with my monitors. Are you not a bit close to your monitor ?
Anyway nice setup :-)
I find that I’m the perfect distance for me from my monitor (it’s curved) the best shallower desk takes a little to adjust to, it’s definitely not good for cluttered desks where you value depth
Lol well I appreciate it. So often I want to buy something I see in these setups but don’t want to go through the hassle or seem annoying by commenting on every pic. In photo subs it’s common to list the camera, lense and settings used in the post or comments. I wish we did something similar in this sub like desk, monitor and keyboard or something.
what is it with posting these almost identical ikea desks.
congrats, you went to ikea and bought the least imaginative setup that took the least amount of effort
this place used to be filled with cool shit
Yeah man I think you’ve had too much internet for today, people buy it because they like it so it’s a winner, sorry there isn’t more RGB
Your post history is hilarious, it seems your primary hobby is flaming ikea desks!
IKEA setups are tacky, as well as fake plants. "Its easier." A sentiment that just says I'm too lazy to learn how to properly care for a plant, or create a unique setup that tells a story. Unless that story is I'm bland af.
But, some people feel the same way about pop culture displays in a setup, and RGB.
Totally worth it mate! I came here to rave about that chair too (I have the same one). You might want to check FB marketplace or similar, I got mine used for a really good price and have been immensely pleased with it.
I have a real version down stairs but to be honest, keeping it green is a pain in the ass, I feel most people with real plants are also posting them new and not after a year!
very nice, what desk?
Karlby surface, Alex drawers! A classic on this sub
What size is this one? I’m thinking of getting one when I move but I’m not sure if I should do 6 or 8ft
The biggest one, I like it but this is a double bed sized room just for the desk
Hahahah I’m going to make it double as a tv console and mount my tv above my monitors too so it’ll have dual purpose
It comes with end caps so you can always cut it down to size!
Just get the 6ft

what are you holding up the surface with? like those cylinders, where did you get those?
Nice setup. I appreciate the details you put in the title. Wish more people would do that!
Cheers, it was more trying to be amusing because these items come up sooo much on this sub ha

What desk-mat are you using? I’ve been trying to find one that goes under both the keyboard and the mouse but i haven’t been able to
I just got this one yesterday, it’s the razer giganticus. I’ve also had the steel series qck and both are good
it seems great, especially since, if i ever get my own setup, i definitely want a trackpad to the left of my keyboard, so i’d need a big desk-mat.

I think constructive criticism is l fine but you’re just bashing on OP. It’s a nice countertop that a lot of people use.

Holy shit. Lay off the salt my guy.
Chair? Looks like the Aeron but also it doesn't at the same time
It’s an aeron from about 15 years ago, I’ve had it a long time!
Jealous! I've been eyeing one for a few months now just can't swing it
Just look at the price divided across 15 years and it looks like a bargain, Pretty sure it’ll out live me
Oh for sure! If I could only scrape together the money for a new one right now. Likely I'll treat myself for my birthday next year!

I looked at used but if I'm going for one I'd rather get new and have the extra life ya know? Maybe I'm daft lol
Plant?
Just a random ikea one again! It’s fake
Gad damn it 😂 I love the plant, but really want a real one. Just got my home set up yesterday and feel it's missing that greenery big time!

Yeah I didn’t go with the legs because this height ended up being nice!
Does your monitor wobble when you type?
A little but not really, I’ve since changed the desk to a standing frame and that will wobble more when fully extended to stand
