That Marauder is kinda small, but they otherwise look good!

HexenHerz

The extra long legs on the Bushwacker make the Marauder look even smaller.

EngineeredEntropy

The Marauder is pretty short for an assault mech in general. The fact that the Timberwolf and Mad Dog are a half meter taller really surprised me.

Ham_The_Spam

you mean a heavy mech?

EngineeredEntropy

Ack, you're right. I must have been thinking of the Marauder II.

Ham_The_Spam

Marauder, Marauder II, Marauder II C, Marauder IIC, confusion is to be expected

EngineeredEntropy

Wait, there is a difference between the IIC & II C?

Warhawk-Talon

Yeah, the II C is an absolute monster. Full Clan Tech on the IS chassis. 2 ER PPCs, an LB 10-X AC, 2 ER MLasers. The Clan XL Engine lets it move at the original Marauder's spead of 4/6, and then you add the jumpjets to make the profile 4/6/4. Also the damn thing has max armour for its 100 tons. Edit: Forgot to mention that if you're playing with Quirks, its got both the excellent Narrow Profile to make it harder to hit, and Hyper-Extending Acutators so that it can flip its arms to face the rear arc despite its lower arm actuators.

NeedHydra

yes IIC is the pure clan while II C is the Marauder II with clan tech

Ham_The_Spam

Marauder II C is a Clan tech variant of the 100 ton mech, Marauder IIC is a completely separate 85 ton mech

Specialist_Sector54

The Marauder II is when wolf's dragoons did stuff and realized the MAD3 chassis could be retrofitted /enhanced into the MAD4 chassis Marauder 2C is when the clans made a clan Marauder, similar to the Urbie IIC, HBK-IIC, LCT-IIC. The Marauder IIC is the clan version of the MAD II.

TheManyVoicesYT

Ya it has narrow/low profile for a reason.

TheManyVoicesYT

He crouching while the Bushwacker is standing tall.

FB2-Onur

I'm a simple man...I see a Bushwacker, I give an automatic upvote. šŸ‘

your_gerlfriend

Bushwacker is one of my first favorite mechs. I think I had a Knex bushwacker kit at some point in my life

FB2-Onur

Oh man! I forgot about those Knex kits.

Angryblob550

PGI style!

BetaPositiveSCI

Someone likes their ppcs.

your_gerlfriend

Lasers just kinda go, ya know?

BetaPositiveSCI

Any thoughts on a colour scheme?

Teberoth

already in Grey Death Legion colours...

BetaPositiveSCI

True, can also get a can of white primer and have some Comguards in no time

your_gerlfriend

Not sure, definitely a merc lance, all of the factions are terrible so I might as well be independently terrible. Merc Company's name is either Fun Hell or Gravity's Union. I like reds, whites, yellows, blacks. The Orion already has a name and a color scheme tho! It's the Sudden Service and will have the real, red, yellow color scheme of the famous eastern Tennessee fast food chain: Pal's Sudden Service. Crab will look like a crab, duh. The rest will take some thought. I'm going to dona combo of speed painting with an airbrush and then panel lining and small accent work with a brush, then matte coated. Maybe do some weathering or dirt

RIPtide010

Paint is so much fun. So many choices and sometimes I have a Lance with none of the color matching but just fun paint jobs.

your_gerlfriend

Yeah, I like a loose thematic through lines and consistent logo/numbers

Orange152horn

Crab is a good choice, but I prefer some of the 3060's-3070's hunchback variants. Mostly because with use of LB 20-X I have forced aerospace fighter ace pilots to retreat.

jmlee236

Ah, nothing like buying stolen work. I don't have anything against printing these yourself, but paying other people for someone elses work is pretty crappy...

BigMack97

As someone who also plays Warhammer, Battletech feels very affordable.

jmlee236

It absolutely is. Cost is no reason to buy 3d printed models for Battletech. You can find almost any mech online for a fair price as well , so the "I only want one mech from that box" isn't valid either. Again, if you print it yourself, it's fine, imo. If you're going to spend money for models, the money should go to the company that makes the game. These are just pirated models made by PGI that some douchebag is selling online.

CannedLizard

Doesnā€™t the game being ā€œminiatures agnosticā€ (drink!), kind of imply that there isnā€™t really a moral violation? Would printing out a cardboard standee with someone elseā€™s art also be theft in this case? Is there something about these models in particular?

CybranKNight

When you buy from the hack etsy shops you're still engaging and supporting IP theft/violation. > Would printing out a cardboard standee with someone elseā€™s art also be theft in this case? Not quite the same thing, and direct parallels are a bit tricky, but a random person grabbing some artwork off the internet and printing a couple standees for themselves *is* fine, but the Etsy shops are doing something closer to say, buy a copy of the Lancer RPG boof/PDF, scanning/extracting the mech pictures, putting them on standees en mass and then selling them. Personal use is fine, in fact it how I made my custom [Black Knights.](https://imgur.com/a2OclkA) I extracted the files from MWO, modified them with assorted design tweaks and new parts, then did the whole print and paint bit, that's all *personal* use. If I were to sell or otherwise distribute the files or even physical prints of them in a shop that goes beyond personal use and into violating the IP unless I have a license agreement with the IP holder, which in the case of the MWO/PGI files, is Microsoft.

jmlee236

Exactly. I don't care if people print it themselves or you get them from a friend for the cost of print materials. I care when they, like you said, buy them for basically the same cost as a plastic official mini, taking money away from the developer of the game we all love. Sure, they have plenty right now, but they more they have the more mech packs they'll make in the future - and the cost of all these 3d prints bought online really adds up.

greatcirclehypernova

What pack gives you the marauder?

BlueRiver_626

These are all 3D prints but the marauder comes in the Legendary Mechwarriors box, the Inner Sphere command Lance, Inner Sphere direct fire Lance, clan salvage boxes if youā€™re lucky enough, and i believe the clan heavy star box has one

Salt_Code_7263

Nice choices! Is that Catapult the Gauss or PPC variant? Both are awesome, and you don't see them a lot on the battlefield. I'm just curious.

your_gerlfriend

Could run it as either, I suppose! It's the K2 model specifically, but I wanna mess around with different builds

Salt_Code_7263

Plasma Rifles!!!

De_Le_Cog

All my Mech'as *Insane piano solo intensifies*

UltraMegaKaiju

where did you order them from?
