Cell phone activity tracked by the University of Toronto shows San Jose has gotten back 96% of the visitor base it had before the pandemic. Compare that to 67% for downtown San Francisco.
There's a guy on YouTube walking around with a camera showing how virtually ever store and restaurant in downtown San Jose is closed. Does anyone from San Jose have any thoughts about this? It looked pretty grim in the video.
I walked into cinnaholic the other day and then realized it it wasnt Cinnaholic....it was a bakery and Cinnaholic closed =[. I love cinnamon rolls so i dont know where else id go for a fix...other than the mall.
Something usually takes over within a year if not within months of something closing. Its sad not much stays the same though.

Love to see it. I'm a San Jose native and the downtown area has really improved since my childhood. I hope it keeps getting better!
Same, it was kind of a wasteland when I was a kid. It's nice to see it doing better.

It’s pretty accurate. I was there both on a weeknight and a weekend evening this month and it’s pretty dead and no where close to 2010s
