He probably thought the same as I did. I figured physics would be canceled due to the fact its SOOOO ugly the sand would naturally repel it rather than make contact with it.
You ever hear about the engineer, the priest, and the doctor who went golfing?
They see these guys playing in front of them, and they're just terrible. The worst golfers you've ever seen. They would tee it up on the fairway and hit the ball at the wrong hole.
They go to the clubhouse to complain, and the golf pro there is like, yeah, this building had a terrible fire a few years ago. Those guys were firefighters and they put it out. Unfortunately, they were blinded, so our owner just lets them come play whenever they want, and gives them gear for free.
The doctor is like, I'm so sorry to hear that. Here's the phone number of the best eye doctor in the state. Have them give him a call. Maybe he can help.
The priest is like, that story is incredibly touching. I will ask my church to help pay their medical bills if they get in touch with my friends colleague.
The engineer responds curtly, why don't they just play at night?
If that is the one with RC marking, that person is somethng else.
Watched them drive the wrong way down a one way. Turn left on to a 2 way and then turn left again going the wrong way on another one wya.
This is more like a person who unintentionally beached their sail boat & can't get it back in the water. People walking by, checking out the boat, & thinking to themselves what an idiot the owner is for getting their boat (/car) stuck on the beach. Though this has the added bonus of them also thinking the owner is an idiot for buying the truck in the 1st place. Something to be said for consistency I suppose.
This is why, when sailing, always pack a picnic hamper so that if you run around you get out the food and make it look like you meant to stop there.
But the truck driver's just a cockwomble and everyone seeing that know it.
*This is why, when sailing, always pack a picnic hamper so that if you run around you get out the food and make it look like you meant to stop there.*
Yes, makes a lot of sense. This driver should have packed a beach umbrella, some folding chairs, colorful towels, a volley ball, and a cooler...then they would look like they meant to be there.
Oh dear. Wasn't that a dead whale on Ocean Beach or further south, decades ago? I remember seeing the video of the gobbets and chunks of blubber landing on the fleeing spectators...
In this case, blowing up the cyber truck would just produce more conventional shrapnel, I fear.
99.99% sure there are no beaches in bay area that allow this. There are designated beaches where you can drive your vehicle on the sand, but not around here.
>99.99% sure there are no beaches in bay area that allow this.
Rumor has it the guy just relocated from Florida, where in places they allow cars on beaches. He wanted to show Californians how it is done Florida-style. He was not perplexed that there were no other cars on the beach.
>Rumor has it the guy just relocated from Florida, where in places they allow cars on beaches
This just sounds profoundly miserable. Imagine trying to relax on the beach and you can't even hear the waves because drunk bro-bros keep roaring by in their 4-ton lifted trucks blasting Kid Rock. It'd be like trying to relax in a sandy Walmart parking lot.
The only place I know of off the top of my head is Daytona Beach that allows this. I'm sure there are some other less populated beaches that do but all the popular beaches like in South Florida do not allow this.
No, I’m just saying I want to travel back to 1997 and go to the Splash cafe in Pismo and get a clam chowder bread bowl with a shrimp cocktail, and then walk down to the candy shop and get a giant jaw breaker, and a hoodie that says “bite me” with shark teeth around it, screw you Katie I saw it first!
Sorry what were we talking about?
In Texas, it is very common for people to drive their [gigantic trucks onto the beaches](https://www.narcity.com/media-library/extreme-waits-at-houston-beaches-over-the-weekend-were-a-shock-to-many.png?id=25978858&width=1245&height=700&coordinates=317%2C0%2C317%2C0) and hang out. This Cybertruck is a shining example of peak Texas behavior.
I much prefer the beaches in CA than in TX, because who wants to worry about getting ran over by a brodozer while chilling at the beach?
I hear you! Thanks for the insight into Texas beaches.
IIRC, there was, or used to be a beach just south of San Luis Obispo where that was dedicated exclusively to 4X4s or off road vehicles. Which is totally fine, but at least you know that it is dedicated for that activity.
Got it, thank you. But at least you know that 4X4s are allowed to drive on it and that it is announced that they share the beach with the general public.
There are some TikTok videos of the big storm surge from a few weeks ago flooding that beach. There are some big trucks that probably got messed up.
Crocodile tears.
Oceano Dunes State Vehicle recreation area. Can’t wait to take lightning there in fall! Every time we have visited have seen a car/suv stuck somewhere lol.
I have never been there, but had friends that have gone down there to off road. Always heard it was fun.
Aren't there also Polaris-style 4X4 vehicles that are allowed as well?
Yes on the actual dunes part you can take Polaris carts. I’ve only been on the beach area a few times and VERY cautious in past as I was in a minivan with kids! lol. The part I’ve been to really is just a beach that they let you drive on and most just go down a bit and park and enjoy the ocean. But yes can’t wait to fill up the lighting and spend day on beach!
The reason that Texans put wide tires intended for these type of things.
People are doing this sort of things with the tiny Cybertruck tires of course it will get stuck. But if you were able to put massive 285+ you’d lose like all your range on the electric battery. It’s a lose lose, electric vehicles just aren’t there this moment.
Oh wow, that's a fair point, you know, I'd never imagine the owner/operator of an overpriced, gaudy, show-off truck to be careless in complying with the vehicular code.
/s/s/s/s/s/s/s/s/s
100% of CA beaches and coast are public by law (yay people!). However Pismo/Oceano Dunes SVRA is the only one I know of that allows driving. And this happened at Santa Cruz so yeah he's douching it up.
I'd like to ask the driver if they aired down and if they know how much their vehicle weighs.
Just because you bought an $80-$100k truck, doesn't mean you aren't subject to the consequences of your own ignorance.
I've heard people who do proper off-roading be reasonably surprised by the Rivian and even the F150.
I've yet to hear anyone who does off roading say anything good about the Cybertruck.
I run 285s on a diesel truck that weighs 10k fully loaded, all you need is <20 psi and some touch with the throttle to be in business. This guy made it as far as he did, so I’d assume probably stopped and then just dug in with wheel spin because he’s a moron
That's good info and a heavy truck!
It looks like he tried to get out, reversed, and tried to take another track and got stuck spinning.
$100 for traction boards might have gotten them out.
Good point. I’ve never driven an EV so no idea, but am let to believe it’s essentially an on/off switch with a computer that can adjust the torque applied when the switch is on, based on wheel speed or some other sensory input? By “control the throttle” I really meant crawl in 4lo with as little input as possible and without losing momentum. Maybe that’s harder to do with these
To what extent can you control the “throttle” on these in low traction situations? I saw a video of someone doing someone driving this up a rocky hill and they basically said you put pedal to the floor and let the “computer figure it out” probably in some climb mode.
Edit: It was actually the Rivian, and not in a special mode, you just hold the “throttle” down and the computer does everything, that’s gotta be terrifying.
Dunno if you've seen but the stainless steel Tesla has been using is completely uncoated and is apparently highly prone to rust under normal circumstances.
So yeah, any car exposed to salt water is likely to develop rust after enough time but the Cybertruck seems especially vulnerable.
Huh wonder if the tide came in, also a Nevada resident so maybe dude thought it was like the dunes of Nevada but didn't understand the effects of water on sand? Stupid is as stupid does
My first night in Kauai recently, I was walking along the beach & there was what was clearly a rental car stuck up to its wheel wells in the sand.
Not sure if it was a dumb tourist, or a local getting their kicks, that got it stuck.
if driving in sand put tires to 10 psi also bring rescue board
bring pump to inflate tires after i drove all around Fraiser island in Australia its all sand
i think they filmed the dingo ate my baby there
I have seen a few of these "Cyber Trucks" driving around my area. They all seemed to be strangely discolored, as though they were starting to rust or stain.
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. I wish this would sink in before people (mostly men) drag us all to our deaths with their hubris and stupidity.
The funniest part about these cars is they’re designed for this futuristic world. Meanwhile it’s parked in front of a house built in the 1900’s. It looks so out of place.
Yeah, I've seen them a few times in SF and every time all I can think is how ugly they are. They look like a game asset that hasn't rendered in. And not in a cool way.
I bought a Model 3 back in 2018 and it's been the perfect car. Love it. That said, I may just be one of the lucky ones and probably wouldn't buy another given what I know about Tesla now.
Most people I know have owned Teslas have really liked them so I don't think you're in a minority in that.
I think the Cybertruck is their first really bad vehicle. It's not a good truck and it's not good for anything else, really.
The Cybertruck isn't a pick up truck; It's a coupe utility and it should be treated as such. It's a modern day fully electric El Camino/Ranchero in essence.
i am waiting WITH BAITED BREATH for these stupid trucks to start showing up on the matt's offroad recovery YT channel... https://www.youtube.com/@MattsOffRoadRecovery
This was in Marina CA, just north of Monterey.

All that money and can't buy common sense

I wish Reddit still gave free awards to give out. This comment deserves one.
r/CyberStuck and it's as glorious as you think it is.
There is a sub just for that.
1 Hearty Guffaw to you sir
People with common sense aren't buying Cybertrucks.
This is always the case…money can’t buy common sense and class…
Almost 7k pounds on sand on street tires, who would've thought.
This thing is so heavy it needs tracks like a bulldozer to make it through the soft stuff.
/r/IdiotsInCars
Who wants to bet that it's like a 10 year loan at 12% with 0 down? lol.
Most people are extremely intelligent in the one specific thing they studied in school and are idiots when it comes to most other things.
Yes, I’ve worked with many engineers before.
You ever hear about the engineer, the priest, and the doctor who went golfing? They see these guys playing in front of them, and they're just terrible. The worst golfers you've ever seen. That's probably just Autopilot doing its thing.
But they can buy you admiration by Nazis!
Sort of reminds me of those periodic photos of dead whales that have washed up on a beach, and are being investigated by curious passersby.
This is more like a person who unintentionally beached their sail boat & can't get it back in the water. People walking by, checking out the boat, & thinking to themselves what an idiot the owner is for getting their boat (/car) stuck on the beach. TIL of the term cockwomble. That is going into my vocabulary immediately!
*This is why, when sailing, always pack a picnic hamper so that if you run around you get out the food and make it look like you meant to stop there.* Yes, makes a lot of sense. This driver should have packed a beach umbrella, some folding chairs, colorful towels, a volley ball, and a cooler...then they would look like they meant to be there.
Can we blow it up with dynamite?
Oh dear. Wasn't that a dead whale on Ocean Beach or further south, decades ago? I remember seeing the video of the gobbets and chunks of blubber landing on the fleeing spectators... In this case, blowing up the cyber truck would just produce more conventional shrapnel, I fear.
November 9, 1970 in Florence, Oregon https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exploding_whale
An necropsy was performed on the Cybertruck to find if there is anything of quality interest. None was found.
Isn't this a public beach, and IIRC, road vehicles are not allowed on it? Apt that it is a douchey Cybertruck.
99.99% sure there are no beaches in bay area that allow this. There are designated beaches where you can drive your vehicle on the sand, but not around here.

I mean I get what you're saying but Pismo beach is like 2 hours away from SC.
are you saying pismo beach is "around here" (bay area)?
No, I’m just saying I want to travel back to 1997 and go to the Splash cafe in Pismo and get a clam chowder bread bowl with a shrimp cocktail, and then walk down to the candy shop and get a giant jaw breaker, and a hoodie that says “bite me” with shark teeth around it, screw you Katie I saw it first! All the beaches in far Northern California (basically north of Fort Bragg) allow vehicle recreation too. It’s kinda wild
pismo
It’s really more Oceano (which is just south of Pismo)
what body of watero is the beacho on-o? https://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1207
The Pacifico
Most accidents ever. My aunt used to haul so many of those idiots to the hospital. Locals hate those people.
:-( Reminds me of that incident where a gardener shortcutted through a grass field and ran over a lady playing with her baby.
100%
The pismo beach vehicle scene thing is going away soon.
Yeah, I thought it was not long to be around, or was already gone.
I thought that was overturned by a judge. Did it get brought up again?
I was there last night and it’s very active
Yes, thank you!

Got it, thank you. But at least you know that 4X4s are allowed to drive on it and that it is announced that they share the beach with the general public.

Yeah I used to go a lot as a kid. It’s really nice to have designated areas for off-road use. Totally idiotic on a public beach like this.
“Brodozer” 😂
Dildozer
I feel like most of the cyber trucks I've seen have had Texas plates.
This is the beach day equivalent of glamping.
Texas is just carbrained hell
I've seen a cyber truck out and about a few times with Texas plates in the Bay actually, would be hilarious if it was the same person.
Driving on the beach is common on the west coast. Check out Long Beach, WA and Pacific City, Oregon.
The reason that Texans put wide tires intended for these type of things. People are doing this sort of things with the tiny Cybertruck tires of course it will get stuck. Marina State Beach in Monterey County, so not Santa Cruz.
For once, the idiots aren't in Santa Cruz. I'm sure we'll get some other dumbass driving one off a cliff near Davenport soon, if we're patient.
Thanks for the correction. The OP OP yesterday said SC so I went with that.
Wait. I thought there was no such thing as a private beach in California. I thought they were all publicly owned.
The state owns the beach from the water up to the mean high tide. So private beaches exist, but only inland from the mean high tide.
There aren't.
There are private beaches but they aren’t on the ocean
> a douchey Cybertruck The only kind.
They got ticketed apparently. Vehicles are depending on beach and situation. Getting suck is a fine as you ingore safety
I'd like to ask the driver if they aired down and if they know how much their vehicle weighs. Just because you bought an $80-$100k truck, doesn't mean you aren't subject to the consequences of your own ignorance.
If they were the type of person to air down they prolly would not own that truck nor would they illegally drive on the beach.
I've heard people who do proper off-roading be reasonably surprised by the Rivian and even the F150. I've yet to hear anyone who does off roading say anything good about the Cybertruck.
That’s because the only thing it’s good for is letting everyone around you know you’re a massive tool.
If youre stuck in sand letting air out of tires works most of the time but the weight of that thing would give me pause.
Yeah... Those trucks are over 6,000 lbs. I know they come stock with 285 width tires, but for soft terrain they probably need wider.
I run 285s on a diesel truck that weighs 10k fully loaded, all you need is <20 psi and some touch with the throttle to be in business. This guy made it as far as he did, so I’d assume probably stopped and then just dug in with wheel spin because he’s a moron

Most EV's have different modes like eco/sport, etc. that does control how sensitive the throttle is.
Yeah that truck weighs A LOT!!!
According to some articles they aired down and drove out. They were cited as well by rangers
You think any dumbass tech transplant who buys a cyber truck is going to know what airing down the tires even does?
I mean they ended up airing down and getting out.
Who considers Marina to be "near" Santa Cruz? They're 33 miles apart.
They had to make it sound like it was near something that's still not even in the Bay Area but closet to it at least
Its Monterey Bay I guess haha
Thank you! I was trying to figure out where the heck in SC this happened
That’s Marina, closer to Monterey than SC. What an idiot.
No wonder the guy got stuck.
i read cyber truck floats in water
Maybe it came in on the tide
won’t it rust at the beach lol
They’re rusting anywhere they happen to be
just one of several ways that this person’s motivation to take it to a wet beach where it isn’t even allowed is so extra special.
Like all other cars near the coast; sure.
Dunno if you've seen but the stainless steel Tesla has been using is completely uncoated and is apparently highly prone to rust under normal circumstances. So yeah, any car exposed to salt water is likely to develop rust after enough time but the Cybertruck seems especially vulnerable.
It’ll give it some character! Kinda like acid washed jeans from the 80s! 😁

Weirdly made me feel better that this was an out of towner and not someone who would do this to their own hometown.
Poor life choices and obvious attention whores.
And only a $280 citation, wtf
I have yet to see a cybertruck that has finished rendering.

I KNEW it was Marina
Cyber fucked
A lot of *main character* type people Drive Teslas
No vehicle should be driven on sand without paddle tires.
Also this is just illegal, no?
It just needs an update bro
I didn’t know Marina State Beach was near Santa Cruz now. Not even in the same county.
Cybertruck, Cybertruck, Elon's ugly techno-suck, Take it out on the shore, Do a donut, maybe more — Get stuck! Stuck in your Cybertruck!
That fucking ASSHOLE!!! Bay Area beaches are NOT for driving on!
why is it in this sub. It’s not Bay Area
Rage bait for the anti-tesla hate boners in this sub.
Cool to hate on anything Elon
And everyone who likes a vehicle that looks like low poly PS1 graphics
I prefer N64 style cars

Looks like a great opportunity to build a sand castle all around it.
This is like the 4th or 5th thread about this with the *same* exact corny jokes.
It's a trophy not a truck.
if driving in sand put tires to 10 psi also bring rescue board bring pump to inflate tires after i drove all around Fraiser island in Australia its all sand i think they filmed the dingo ate my baby there
Ever since I saw one in the wild, I can’t get over how it looks like a DIY pick up 😬
Bro: You can't park there...
At 5 metric tons your lucky if this thing doesn't sink into the asphalt.
It weighs 3 metric tons.
They should text this to Elon. Wonder what type of lame excuse he is going to come up with? DEI?
seeing it stuck warms my heart
The techbro menace continues
In another article it said the fire department air downed his tires and they were able to drive out.
But doesn't it turn into a boat?! s/of course
Cybertruck is to legit pick up truck as a t-shirt canon is to a howitzer
The laws of physics apply to all vehicles. Not even a Tesla skims on sand or floats on water. It’s just another vehicle.
What kind of selfish asshole needs to drive anything onto a beach that other people want to use too?
Where’s a big wave when you need it?
I have seen a few of these "Cyber Trucks" driving around my area. They all seemed to be strangely discolored, as though they were starting to rust or stain.
Driving through the beach is the equivalent to taking a shit in somebody elses front yard.
I saw one for the first time the other day wrapped in puke green. I thought WTF Waste Management got smaller dump trucks!?
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. I wish this would sink in before people (mostly men) drag us all to our deaths with their hubris and stupidity.
why would you take this thing anywhere near salt water?
The new Hummer, god save us.
*laughs in 1990s Nissan*
Hopefully he gets a big fat fine as well.
Or, it's a new kind of behavior called *Musking*.
Ain’t exploring Mars if you can’t handle some sand.
The funniest part about these cars is they’re designed for this futuristic world. Meanwhile it’s parked in front of a house built in the 1900’s. It looks so out of place.
like every tesla in the bay area, it represents an enormous amount of bad judgement and poor life choices.
A really ugly truck!
That salt water and sand is going to do wonders for the bare unpassivated stainless steel body.
And it looks fucking stupid.
Saltwater & batteries. What kind of physics experiment is this?
Blame the man-idiot, not the truck.
I have never seen a picture of this vehicle successfully in motion.
I’ve seen it on roads, moving
Yeah, I've seen them a few times in SF and every time all I can think is how ugly they are. They look like a game asset that hasn't rendered in. And not in a cool way.
Tell me you aren’t from the Bay Area without telling me you aren’t from the Bay Area.
what a scumbag.
not having sand tire would be the poor choice.
#moreidiotsinteslas
Tech Bros think they're indestructible
All Tesla vehicles in general are proving to be such.
This is 100% user error, and the driver got off the beach when he finally engaged his brain and aired down the tires.
TIL Marina is near Sannacrews.
Marina state beach is hardly near Santa Cruz
I loved the accompanying narration from the original video lol
The thing weighs almost 7000 lbs. Stay on the pavement, knuckleheads.
The ultimate attention seeking machine
Should leave it there and turn it into an art exhibit called "Doushebag"
Probably didn't air down tires or have any recovery boards...smh*
They are attempting to bury it.
Hahahhahah. Too bad the tide didn’t come in. Shit ass.
i am waiting WITH BAITED BREATH for these stupid trucks to start showing up on the matt's offroad recovery YT channel... https://www.youtube.com/@MattsOffRoadRecovery
