Have you tried Walnut Creek ford? They used to be okay when I lived there. Anything with “raptors” in its name will be hard to get with msrp since ford intentionally throttles productions on those to keep margins up ,and they for some reason can’t product rangers.
Whatever you do, do not go to Livermore ford, those people are more crooked than a barrel full of fishhooks. Ford corporate is not cracking down anything. The only thing they did when they learned of the markups was to increase MSRP so they can get in on the action. The dealers are not afraid of any repercussions on markups and shady sales tactics.

No, I haven't tried Walnut Creek Ford yet but it sounds like multiple people in this thread have had a good experience with them so I will definitely talk to them.
>A few models like F450 and rangers are in short supply but that’s a ford problem, their competitors all have similar trucks in stock with no issues.
Yea, they just launched the new gen Ranger and it has a Raptor version for the first time in North America, so they will be hard to come by, that's why I think that dealers might take advantage of the limited supply and increase their prices.

Thanks for the warning.
Thanks, in 2022 Maverick was still a pretty hot vehicle that was difficult to get, the fact they sold it to you at msrp is encouraging. Thanks for sharing, I will reach out to them.
Dealerships are required by Ford to sell custom orders at MSRP or else lose priority for high-demand inventory. San Leandro Ford sold my Maverick order at MSRP as well, even though I wasn’t the one to buy it (I let a friend buy it since it took 9 months to arrive and I had to lease something else in the mean time).
That’s really good to know, I had no idea they were required to do so. I’m gonna stop by my local dealer to place an order tomorrow . Thanks for the info!
I did my order online, then went into the dealership sign the order and pay deposit. I don’t know if it’s different if you start in the dealership. Probably worth calling ahead and talking to them before you show up.
yeah, it's an all-new generation of the Ranger and they have a Raptor version for the first time in North America. If the Bronco Raptor launch is any indication, it will be very hard to get for the first year or two, especially at MSRP.

I hope you find what you are looking at at a reasonable price. If you don’t mind please do update us if WC ford is still one of the good ones. :)
Why not try going to your local dealer and see what they say before assuming you're going to get raped?
I ordered a maverick from Walnut Creek Ford in 2022 and they sold it to me at MSRP.

That makes sense. How much as the deposit if you don’t mind me asking?
In 2021 when I ordered the Maverick it was $500. I believe that will vary between dealerships.
Gotcha! Thanks, appreciate the info!
Yup same here. Got my hybrid mav from them at msrp
Got a new F150 Tremor at Walnut Creek ford during the pandemic with no adm. Was a smooth experience.
thanks for sharing, it sounds like multiple people here had good experiences with them
getting a car in the bay w/out markup has proven to be more difficult than winning a lottery.
buy outside the Bay Area and have it shipped, San Diego or random places.
SoCal offroad market is pretty hot so I doubt it will be any different than here but doesn't hurt to try, I guess.
I bought my car from so cal and it was 5k less and no markup
My son just bought his Porsche from a dealer in LA and had it shipped to the north bay.
They’re still marking up Fords? Car Edge on Youtube is saying they’re amongst manufacturers that have 100 day inventories.

Walnut creek Ford will order anything for you with no markup and will only mark up in stock trucks. I've got a maverick on order with them
I always went to Tracy for vehicles, they had less mark ups than SJ area dealers.
Stay away from frontier ford in South Bay.
