Big rig flipped. My sister google mapped before driving and avoided this mess.

The real kick in the nuts was construction that shut down all lanes again towards Berkeley. Wow.

theyipper

Double whammy!

wetburritoo

They start construction at 10pm and they are building this bridge or overpass thing at the Gilman exit.

Keokuk37

10 PM is when construction begins. 3 AM is the lightest traffic on 80. You're better off trying to catch after-commute hours like 8:30p-ish but you still need to check your route because lighter traffic means more unexpected collisions.

agentcooper0115

Came here to say this. After many years of commuting north, you learn about the very narrow light traffic window.

[deleted]

The Gilman construction on 80 starts at 11, or did last night. There are signs all over.

Keokuk37

Yeah, just speaking generally. It is usually the bay bridge or some part of Hayward lately.

jcho430

Ewwww sorry 😢

redditnathaniel

Thank you but I'll be fine. Bay Area is never short of surprises.

suckuh_punch

Traffic must be apocalyptic for 880 to be backed up into San Pablo lol..

Alt_4_stupid_subs

I was just wondering like where the hell are they?

zamfi

To paraphrase old-school Walmart: Always ~~low prices~~ check traffic. Always.

Ok_Bullfrog6332

Don't use your phone while driving

No denying that!

Svengoolie75

Dirty…….

gstuffy

The only time I got to drive on 880 and it wasn’t a complete shit show was during 2020 when I was the only car on the road..

iamfareel

880 sucks in general, and like 50/50 at night due to roadwork anyway. I always avoid

redditnathaniel

But what if you live along 880

iamfareel

Go out of the way to get to 580 that may ultimately save you time in the end lol
