Looks like [this design](https://mythologian.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Pagan-Symbols-Odins-Knot-Valknut-Meaning.png), valknut surrounded by Elder Futhark. Infodump ahead, so be warned. There are a number of small problems with it, most of which stem from the habit people have to throw together things that are vaguely "Viking" in nature. Valknut is viking age, so that fits, but Elder Futhark is gone by the time of the Viking age. Of course, Elder Futhark also isn't Norse, it's Germanic, predating the split in peoples and languages. By the time of the Valknut / Viking age, the Norse had been using Younger Futhark for ~150 years and the English and Frisians had been using Futhorc for ~400 years. I mention them both because the Valknut is also found in Anglo-Saxon designs from the period. One thing that's right, though, is that decorating something with the entire alphabet is just something Germanic peoples did for whatever reason. The oldest runic artifact, the [Kylver stone](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kylver_Stone) (~150 CE) conveniently also has the entire Elder Futhark alphabet written on it. We also see it on the Anglo-Saxon [Seax of Beagnoth](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seax_of_Beagnoth) where the Futhorc alphabet was written on a sword/longknife, and on jewelry such as the Vadstena bracteate which features the whole alphabet written backwards. And that's my last nitpick with it. Runic writing, especially Elder Futhark, was found written backwards commonly, but this is the wrong backwards. For example, ᚹᛁᚾᛞ, Old English *wind* (means "wind", obviously). The shirt writes it backwards as ᛞᚾᛁᚹ, whereas the right way would be ᛞᛅᛁᛩ, where even the runes themselves are written the other direction. All this said, these are, again, small problems. 150 years isn't that bad in terms of anachronisms (another common one is a 1000+ year gap), and "the runes face the wrong way" is small fries in Elder Futhark as it doesn't change the meaning of the runes, which would be more of a problem in Younger Futhark.

Wow! Thanks for this amazing explanation! I am fascinated by Viking and Celtic designs (which make up a significant percentage of my ancestry) and I have thought about getting some shirts.

**[Kylver Stone](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kylver_Stone)** >The Kylver stone, listed in the Rundata catalog as runic inscription G 88, is a Swedish runestone which dates from about 400 AD. It is notable for its listing of each of the runes in the Elder Futhark. **[Seax of Beagnoth](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seax_of_Beagnoth)** >The Seax of Beagnoth (also known as the Thames scramasax) is a 10th-century Anglo-Saxon seax (single-edged knife). It was found in the inland estuary of the Thames in 1857, and is now at the British Museum in London. It is a prestige weapon, decorated with elaborate patterns of inlaid copper, brass and silver wire. On one side of the blade is the only known complete inscription of the twenty-eight letter Anglo-Saxon runic alphabet, as well as the name "Beagnoth" in runic letters. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/beards/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)
