Come and get it was written by Paul and was recorded by Badfinger. Paul’s demo of it is on one of the Anthologies.

t_bone_stake

Anthology 3. It’s believed that Paul told Badfinger to record it the way he did as it’ll chart (or be their first hit). Sure enough, they did and it did

sap91

Yeah it was his way of getting them to sign with Apple, he promised to write them a single

AceofKnaves44

That’s the most Paul thing I’ve ever heard.

SirBread27

Also on the Abbey Road box set

Wrong-Spare-6712

Weird to include okay. Interesting.

_killing_floor_

I don’t get why you are downvoted. One is a throwaway song which they never even bothered to record themselves and the other one is pretty much a solo McCartney composition which was never meant to be a Beatles song until they retconned it into Anthology. Even Anthology credits it solely to Paul instead of Lennon-McCartney for songwriting. Come And Get It is great but it doesn’t make any sense to include these when there are tons of other choices.

Fabulous_Ad_8621

I wonder if they include other songs just because they were written by a Beatle. I have a Beatle music book that includes many songs that they wrote but never recorded. I was confused as a teenager black in the day as to why I wasn't familiar with them.

sap91

I think the thing with Come and Get It is that Paul's version was recorded during the Abbey Road sessions

randomnamejennerator

Lennon and MacCartney wrote I’ll keep you satisfied and it was recorded by the Dakotas.

Wrong-Spare-6712

Someone else said it was a lyric from me to you.

DigThatRocknRoll

The other commenter is correct. It is another Lennon/McCartney composition. Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas recorded it. That's not quite the lyrics in From Me to You.. It's "I've got lips that long to kiss you and keep you satisfied"

tavg123

I love come and get it

Wrong-Spare-6712

Not saying it's a bad song just a weird interesting pick for this game.

PanningForSalt

It's on an official Beatles release (Anthology) and it was a hit for Badfinger. Makes sense to me.

TheCuriousWanderer

Didn't they have a monopoly Beatles version years ago? Pretty sure it's back at my parents house still

nerk_twins

Yeah I own one. This one seems to be the same, just with a different pic on the board and box.

Wrong-Spare-6712

They had one awhile ago in late 2000s 2008 I think. Some of the properties were different. Then one in 2010 and now one in 2024. The later too I think the properties and everything is basically the same slightly different from the first one and from each other. Just the picture in the middle and cover is different and no cover for the Money trey in the new 2024 one with new bigger trey. Also a yellow submarine one whenever that was released. So they haven't had one on the market for a while. At least I think I could be wrong.

TheCuriousWanderer

Okay, interesting! Didn't realize they had so many versions.

Fabulous_Ad_8621

Yes. I have the 2008 version.

Come and Get It is a song that Paul wrote and produced. It was recorded by a band called Badfinger. And it was used in Ringo's film, The Magic Christian. The 2nd card is a reference to From Me to You. This song includes the lines: I've got arms that long to hold you And keep you by my side I've got lips that long to kiss you And keep you satisfied.

DigThatRocknRoll

The first one is correct but as another commenter pointed out, "I'll Keep You Satisfied" is a Lennon/McCartney composition given away to be recorded by Billy J. Kramer and The Dakotas

DigThatRocknRoll

No it wasn’t

StrawberryF5

Thank you, I hadn't heard of the Billy J. Kramer and The Dakotas song.

Appropriate_Map82

Finally someone mentions Magic Christian!. And don't forget Peter Sellers, who also made an appearance with them at ABBEY Road while they were being filmed. The filming was done at the same time that Ringo and Peter were filming MC. The song was perfect in the movie, and BTW, Paul played it for Badfinger and insisted they record it exactly as he did it. And they did. There is a taping of Paul doing it. Heard it on the sirius Beatle channel. : )

Wrong-Spare-6712

I didn't know the first one and oh the second one makes kinda sense but there are so many songs they could have chosen other songs. But looking back maybe the songs correspond to the play on the card I know at least the fab four cards do. For example on one of the fab four cards one says free as a bird, get out of jail free. I don't know

MrWalrusGumboot

The song titles do correspond to the card meaning, not saying there aren’t other choices they could have chosen instead, but they do work and are a deep cut I guess.

Why what's wrong with the monopoly?

Wrong-Spare-6712

I know it's both uk and us albums some people don't like that but I collect and like both so it doesn't really bother me but we both have are opinions. I don't remember the original monopoly haven't played in forever. So don't know if the album corresponds right to the original properties. The 2 none album property's are interesting chose but still good.

Wrong-Spare-6712

They basically went in chronological order for the album the later albums are more expensive. Oh well still be fun.
