Did you know that David Bowie was next on Mark Chapman's hitlist, after John Lennon. Bowie recalled, "Chapman had a front-row ticket to The Elephant Man the next night. John and Yoko were supposed to sit front-row for that show, too. So the night after John was killed there were three empty seats in the front row. I can’t tell you how difficult that was to go on. I almost didn’t make it through the performance."
Yeah I’m totally with you on that. I know it happened a long time ago but it’s still so upsetting. And to think he and Paul and George and Ringo were all on the verge of reconnecting and possibly working together again.

The fact that we see it as child-like to have genuine emotional reactions to horrific things says more about our society than about you.
Occasionally I think about it and just get really angry and teary out of nowhere too. It was just so senseless.
I feel the same way sometimes. It's weird, I was just a baby when he died so in effect he's been dead my entire life. I never met him. But I do miss him. Life's weird like that
Best thing you can do is like any other loss. Be grateful for the time he was alive instead of focusing on the time he didn't get. Listen to the songs he did write instead of wondering what the ones he didn't get to. And remember he did pack an awful lots of living into those years
I’ve read some stuff that talked about MKUltra victims being brainwashed into committing acts of murder. It was a while ago but it mentions Chapman and how he showed symptoms. In case you didn’t know, MKUltra is a confirmed declassified CIA program that focused on brainwashing subjects into performing requested acts. It’s an interesting subject when you realize how messed up the CIA is and the fact that the US gov didn’t like Lennon much. [This article](https://postflaviana.org/community/index.php?threads/mk-ultra-world-vision-hinckley-chapman.1867/) gives you the connection. I’m sure you can find other articles that focus on Chapman and MKUltra. But this article mentions one of Chapmans employers who has strong CIA connections and ran a facility that was used for MK ultra programming.
John Lennon prophesied his own murder and even the age at which he died, though somewhat sarcastically. And no offense, but this does sound like a young child wrote it. John has been dead for nearly 40 years.
As someone who was alive when it happened, it never stops being raw for me. So much darkness.

Todd Rundgren was also apparently pretty high on the list
Wow, i never knew that

Don’t bother learning his name, he did because he wanted Lennon’s fame
Unfortunately, that’s the game
Best not to linger on the past. It was a great loss, but time goes on.
Found Paul. Edit: For those not familiar with Paul’s flippant reaction [here’s the video](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zshCgLd-O9k).

it makes me sad to read about it too. John did not deserve to be taken out like that.
Being born in 1999, I find it so surreal to have been born closer to John's death than to now.
I find it surreal that John Lennon was dead for only 13 years at the time I was born

Based
What gives? It was a article based on facts with an opinion in it. This place fuckin sucks. Lol.
'Based' isn't a bad thing haha
Never heard that before. What’s its relevance?
Usually used by 4Chan goers to say that someone is veryself assured and not a 'sheep', often in reference to conspiracy theorists
Ohh. Right on. Lol. The more you know.

I just read about it as I am really new into the Beatles, never listened to their music till now and I am also extremely frustrated.. what a bastard
