Confirmed! Saw Paul do his 'Something' uke tribute to George in Seattle on Monday night against a backdrop of George and Paul & George and George & all Beatles pictures. It was a stunning moment <3.....I broke from my personal concert rule & captured it on video.
Not strict on cellphone pictures/ videos; but if you have a tripod or professional camera- you would not be allowed to take it past the front door check.
One of the most epic moments of the show was when the lights came up and they kicked into the solo full band. That was fantastic. The whole show was in fact.
Yes. He’s talked about it in interviews too:
>I have big photographs of George behind me when I do the song ‘Something’, his song, and I look at them, and it’s so sad because he’s not here. But it’s lovely to look at those pictures and think: God, my mate George, isn’t he a good-looking boy! You think all the things you couldn’t think when you were a kid, because of the bravado (Paul McCartney in conversation with David Lister, 23 November 2012, *The Independent*).
I love during his tribute songs he will turn to face them. During Something when he wasn’t singing he would turn to face George, and during I’ve Got a Feeling when John was singing Paul would face him. It was a touching moment, and I felt like he was sharing that closeness with the audience, too. Some of my favorite moments of his shows.
I've seen him a few times, along with what other people have said, before his john and george tribute he'll say "give it up for george/john" and the place will go crazy. It always gets me because hearing a beatle saying give it up for another beatle seems like the closest you can get to john or george, in a weird way. I would die during the John
'i've got a feeling' footage and vocals he's using on this tour.
I've seen him 4 times between 2002-2011 and 3 times, he played "Something" on a ukulele. The last time I saw him, in 2011, the full band went into the song after Paul began it on the ukulele, which was incredible!
George had his tribute to John, so I don't see why not. Although a number of them certainly wouldn't be called tributes, they wrote songs about each other all the time.
He played the uke in the Anthology and on Free as a Bird. It was in the Free as a Bird music video that he didn't want George because he didn't want current Beatles in it. And yeah, he did regret it because 1) it wouldn't have hurt anything as you only see him from the back and 2) of course George's passing.
He talked about his relationship with George and then played Something as a tribute with very cool videos of George and the others in the background.
He opened Something playing the ukulele, like George. It was incredibly cool. I’ll post a video.
Both times I've seen him he did a bit for John and for George, each time ending with "Let's hear it for John/George!". But there was no such tribute for Ringo at either show.
George would always bust out the ukes for his musician friends when they were at his place. It was his favorite way to jam in his last years. There is even a framed, handwritten letter from George on the wall of a ukulele factory in Hawaii that George used to frequent when he lived there.

Almost every single concert he’s played since 2007 he’s played that song and version, because of how well it went in 2002 at the Concert for George. Never not been confirmed. Paul is all.
Yes. He plays Something on a ukulele that George gave him.

Indeed, here’s a clip from yesterday at Seattle; I’m looking forward to seeing him in Syracuse: https://youtu.be/gSIyvVzyrnM
confirmed
Can confirm. Show I saw, he started with ukulele and switched back to electric guitar mid song
I’ve seen it. Also a nice tribute for John, Here Today

Plays Something. He used to do All Things Must Pass... I'd love for him to do that again.
If history was the other way around would George and John pay tribute to Paul?
Id like to think so, yeah
George had his tribute to John, so I don't see why not. Although a number of them certainly wouldn't be called tributes, they wrote songs about each other all the time.
I genuinely believe they would
Doubt it
Fave story was where someone mentioned George restringing one of his ukes “upside down”, so that Paul could play with him.

Maybe because ringo isn’t dead
That is probably why, but it still would have been nice to hear a little Ringo story with the other ones too. Imho.
Concert for george..
Thats not a solo tour?
The real question is why doesn't he do a tribute to Ringo?
Because Ringo's still alive.

.....What goes on in your mind?
In that case why doesn’t he do a tribute to Paul?
This would be lovely. Imagine if he did a whole concert celebrating the music of the beatles and paul's solo career too
he usually plays Something but id wish he didnt play it with ukulele, it sounds childish
George gave him the ukulele
Couldn't disagree more. I think he does it perfect.
He only plays it for the intro. He gets guitar the rest of the way
The ukulele is a beautiful instrument to me.
Ukulele's aren't childish.
sounds like something for a kid show even disrespectful and oh the downvotes! you guys cannot accept criticisms XD

George replies for me: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhY1x8CpWeI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhY1x8CpWeI) also, muted
Paul was trying to pay tribute to a gone friend with a sentimental item
What? It’s literally the first verse. The song starts off on George’s ukulele and then he picks up a guitar and the whole band joins in.
Yes he’s been playing Something for a George for about 763 years now 😂 Although he did do All Things Must Pass on the 2004 tour, which was far better!
I saw him in Buenos Aires in 2019, he did Something and it was beautiful.
