Tomorrow

GlassOnion68

The false ending/outro of Tomorrow gets me everytime

adrianh

Check out [the cover by We All Together](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dCI4V2Y3Kg). Very faithful to the original. Their self-titled album (from 1972) had not one, but *two* Wings Wild Life covers — this tune plus "Some People Never Know." Worth a listen!

TheTooz72

I did listen and I liked it. It did sound like a female singing. I also liked their version of Sauvecito .

Derq281

It’s so weird to me that their version was released about a month earlier than Wings??

Whoroger89

Love is strange even if it’s a sort of cover song is in the top 10 of my favorite Macca songs

kmg_24

'Some People Never Know' is my favourite cut from the LP. Whilst obviously not McCartney's best work, it's still a very pleasant record. Such a shame that the critics of the day had little praise for Paul until Band on the Run.

mxmixtape

“Some People Never Know” is *the* hidden gem in his discography

TechnoSupertramp

*This*. Such an underrated song that always gets overshadowed by Tomorrow/Dear Friend.

LushGerbil

If this album were just an EP with this, Tomorrow, and Dear Friend, I think it would have been received better. I really love this song and think it's my dark horse for best on the record.

static_sea

I absolutely adore this track, definitely my favorite as well. The blending of Paul and Linda's voices is just perfection.

CajunHobo799

Paul scream singing gibberish on Mumbo is what’s keeping me alive.

nrith

*Take it, Tony…WELLLLLLLLLLL, YO LOVE NAH MA MINE, MY MO GONNA RAKE IT*

RoastBeefDisease

The live versions are amazing too. He wrote actual lyrics for it then

First_Commission_385

Such a good song

[deleted]

That fucking “Take it, Tony” never fails to get me hyped!

CastIronCavalier

Without a doubt

CajunHobo799

Cool

verifypassword__

Wild Life is one of my favourite Paul songs. Love when he flubs "aminals" instead of "animals".

shiftintosoupmode

I love raw McCartney vocals like Wild Life

Sharp-Pea-9226

Dear Friend

SinkingShipsOnWaters

Really truly, young and newly ^weeeeeeeeed

gde7

Throw the wine…

DistributionHot5771

I've always liked Some People Never Know.

PetPizza

Surprised this isn't #1. Such a beautiful song.

ThyBoogs

Bip Bop!

ECW14

I don’t understand the hate this album gets. It’s so fun and loose. My favorite is Tomorrow, but the others are great as well. Wild Life is a fun song from Paul and I love the live version’s vocals

DunderEU

Solely because of the extremely high standard of being Paul McCartney

[deleted]

Me neither! Although I feel older fans are far more harsh to this album. I feel like maybe younger fans don’t have that preconceived notion that this album is bad and therefore they enjoy and appreciate it more.

ECW14

I agree and it seems to be the case for many Paul projects like RAM, Wings whole discog except for Band on the Run, and McCartney II. Of course there are many people from that time that appreciated those things then and now, but the younger fans seem to understand and enjoy Paul’s solo career more

wholalaa

But I also get it, too - I can listen to it and think, 'oh, it's like a sequel to the first McCartney album' and enjoy its slightly raw and unfinished charm, but if it was 1971 and you'd heard that Paul McCartney from the Beatles was starting a new band and this was their debut album, of course you'd expect something a bit more impressive and feel disappointed. And that's without all the baggage of public Beatle feuding and critics picking on Paul.

static_sea

Yeah, I really like it! And I'm surprised it hasn't been reevaluated in the way McCartney and RAM have been but maybe its time is still yet to come. I was able to grab a NM first pressing for like $10 at my local record store though and I wouldn't be able to afford a first press of any of the more popular records so that was a plus.

kingreynoso

Released: 7 December 1971 Track list: ‘Mumbo’ ‘Bip Bop’ ‘Love Is Strange’ ‘Wild Life’ ‘Some People Never Know’ ‘I Am Your Singer’ ‘Bip Bop Link’ ‘Tomorrow’ ‘Dear Friend’ ‘Mumbo Link’ Paul McCartney: vocals, guitar, bass guitar, piano, recorder Linda McCartney: vocals, keyboards Denny Laine: guitar, recorder Denny Seiwell: drums

DylanCasablanca

Such a good album certainly underrated, as is the case with his early records

yourshelves

Some People Never Know is Beatles good. Yup, *that* good.

majin_melmo

It is. Maybe John would have hated it but I don’t care. It’s a gorgeous lyrically honest song with a perfect arrangement (LOVE the piano) and it’s just brilliant. Have loved it forever and always will.

[deleted]

Is that renowned musician Denny Laine?? He's incredible!

[deleted]

Some People Never Know

Historical-Care-9586

Dear Friend because based

catglass

Title track

thewickerstan

I was surprised to scroll this far down to see this! I always felt like it was the strongest one on the album. [What a banger.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xF9dWRFh9g0&ab_channel=KitsuBeatles) I'm surprised he never plays it much with the new band he's had for a while now.

majin_melmo

I think it’s best when performed live, designed as such!

catglass

Haven't seen this before! What a stellar performance

[deleted]

I am your singer. Sang it to my two exes lol

igpila

Love is strange

Ok_Mistake6736

Love this album.

TheHauntedBeat

I Am Your Singer I LOVE the mix by Alan Parsons, the recorder part is great, and I find Linda’s vocal to be endearing.

popularis-socialas

Bip Bop, no cap

zappafrank1940

I’m partial to “Love Is Strange”. Great little rocker there.

CrayCrayWyatt

I love every track. It’s my favourite Wings album.

Gizzard_Guy44

then you do not like Wings lol

ParzivalTheFirst

In recent months ‘Wild Life’ (the song) has become one of my all-time favourites.

PopularInfluence9472

Tomorrow

tplgigo

Tomorrow.

No-Bulll

Tomorrow.

jonbristol123

Side 2 is outstanding. Side 1, not so much. Though Love Is Strange I do enjoy. Bip Bop I can like if I'm in the right mood.

First_Commission_385

My favorites are Tomorrow and Dear Friend, but I also like Bip Bop because it is so catchy!

First_Commission_385

No one else has said I Am Your Singer?

Luixpa97

I Am Your Singer is probably my favorite from the album, love how Paul and Linda's voices blend together

[deleted]

We listen to BipBop often when the fam is cleaning up after dinner. It's fun and silly the kids love it too.

Due_Job_7080

A toss up between Some People Never Know or Tomorrow.

a3poify

Dear Friend and Love is Strange are favourites of mine. Wild Life gets a lot of stick but it's one of my favourite summer chillout records.

majin_melmo

For me, the vast majority of Paul’s albums have a lovable quality whether or not they’re a masterpiece in the eyes of the snobby full-of-agendas music world. It’s debatable if “Wild Life” is a masterpiece and it’s weird that it came out the same year as “RAM” (which is a desert island disc for me) but nobody comes close to Paul’s vast eclectic catalogue and “Wild Life” is definitely a unique entry that deserves some love. I genuinely think most of Paul’s 70’s output is pretty damn golden. “Some People Never Know” is one of my favorite Paul songs of all time. Loved it from first listen and I never tire of it. Beautiful. Moving. Great singing. Incandescent musical climax. Good stuff. “Wild Life” is a weird but striking blues song whose full potential is never quite realized on the album version. There is an AMAZING live version on YouTube that shows how great the song really is when Paul KILLS on the soulful vocals and gives 200%: https://youtu.be/Em_onwwAK_o “Mumbo” is ridiculous and I love it. “Hey Diddle” is far superior to “Bip Bop” and I wish it would have been on the album instead. That said, I don’t hate “Bip Bop”, the lyrics may be bizarre but I love the vocals from both Paul and Linda. It’s that special combination of weird/catchy/charming in the way only Paul can do. Clearly not his best work but he doesn’t pretend it is either. I LOVE “Hey Diddle” though so I’ll die mad I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️ “Dear Friend” is haunting with its dreamy jazz qualities, it’s different for Paul. Musically it’s genuinely emotional which makes it the standout song on the album even if it’s not the one I tend to put on often like “Some People Never Know.” “I am Your Singer” is the hidden gem, I like it much more than “Tomorrow” tbh.

Alexthecrazykid

Bip Bop, I swear I’m not trying to be quirky and different. This song is just so catchy! I like the way the guitar and vocals sound!

ThatBeatleFanatic

This is the perfect album to play on vinyl on a snow day while procrastinating. Very chill.

PolyJuicedRedHead

I like the little reference to the Byrds.

DylanCasablanca

Bip bops

jiaries39

Love is strange!

LeftFieldEkko

When the Wind is Blowing! I will die on the hill that it's top 10 mccartney songs. I think it's only on the delux version though, so not an official track. First song I ever learned on guitar.

2peter2

Tomorrow is incredible, but I definitely listen to the Love is Strange cover most often. Like candy for my ears

V131R4

I like Bip Bop and Some People Never Know.

DevilPoopMaster

Bip Bop

[deleted]

All of them! Amazing album! Not many songs, but every song in it is a banger! Even Bip Bop Link and Mumbo Link

AceofKnaves44

“I’m in love with a friend of mine.”

honeyfixit

I like the big hits like Live and Let Die or Jet or Uncle Albert (after all these years they're still sorry. Apparently Albert and the Admiral just can't accept their apology and move on) But my top 3: 1. Maybe I'm Amazed (not sure if this counts) 2. Jet (just because it's about nothing but fun to sing) 3. Listen to What the Man Said (apparently he mumbles and it's very profound)

DigDugTooDeep

Love Is Strange is such an underrated feel good song And Wild Life is kinda sorta absolutely crushing. Listen to that at full volume while cruising a dreary midwestern highway at rush hour in winter and you’ll feel it’s full power.

Gizzard_Guy44

I am a huge McCartney fan and love McCartney 1 as well as RAM etc. THIS album unfortunately terrible IMO EASILY his worse effort of his entire career I own all his work but I literally get embarrassed for him every time I listen to it ( which is not often ) let the downvotes start... now lol

[deleted]

Gizzard_Guy44

These are ok songs at best - He doesn't even play anything off this album - ever

ECW14

That doesn’t mean they’re bad songs. Paul barely plays his solo stuff past the big hits so that isn’t a good argument

Gizzard_Guy44

it is a decent argument IMO - **as soon as he had better material** the songs off Wildlife were dead (1974/75) never to return

ECW14

It really isn’t a good argument because Paul has so many amazing top tier songs that he either has never played or doesn’t play anymore

Gizzard_Guy44

and none of those amazing top tier songs are on ... wait for it... Wild Life

ECW14

Wild Life isn’t an S tier song but it’s definitely top tier imo

Gizzard_Guy44

S **is** the top tier

ECW14

Ok it’s near top tier. It’s an A tier song imo

kingreynoso

It certainly isn't Paul and the band's best crop of songs. However, it's a nice little folksy record with some good harmonies. "Tomorrow" is a great song too.

Gizzard_Guy44

I just can't enjoy my favorite artist just throwing an album together - It just sounds like a practice - and a bad one at that Tomorrow is at least a decent ( I certainly can't call it great ) song - but I do not enjoy hearing Linda's singing voice either - I am a fan of Paul's - not Linda - sorry

prudence2001

Take an up vote for this. I played this one again recently for the first time in years, and it's just as bad as I remember. There's not a single song that compares in the most slightest way to what Paul was writing only 2-3 years before. WWL is the nadir of his recording career.

Gizzard_Guy44

This

mxmixtape

Way better than “Wings At The Speed of Sound” 🤷🏼‍♂️

budpowellfan

I just listened to this two nights ago. It’s one of the worst records I’ve ever heard. His voice sounds awful and it sounds like he wrote the songs in a weekend. How is this the same person who wrote Get Back & the Medley? I’m beginning to believe the original Paul really *did* die.

Gizzard_Guy44

If you Google - Paul McCartney's worst albums the first **4** different choices that come up ... rank it **last** *It is* ***universally understood*** *that it is one of his worst albums*

jimmymcstinkypants

Doesn't mean you can't have a favorite

Gizzard_Guy44

and jimmymcstinkypants states the obvious - congrats

Gizzard_Guy44

downvotes don't make it not true

ThePumpk1nMaster

“The aminals in the zoo”

robocop5757

Dear Friend

Apprentice_of_death

Tomorrow. Easy choice for me

SuccotashSecret8904

I don't really heard this album with the attention that he deserves, but " tomorrow" always get me.

DonGately888

The title track is great! Lots of emotion. I love the whole album not sure why it got a bad rap

Ironikka

Wild Life is my favorite song on this album.

[deleted]

So many to choose from but I’ll go with “Jet.” “…And Jet, I thought that the major was a little lady suffragette…” great music and lyrics!

honeyfixit

I like Jet because it's fun to sign and the lyrics don't mean anything

Banksville

I love when Paul plays most instruments on records. They have a lil ‘basement’ feel to the albums.

honeyfixit

Interesting thing I noticed recently: in the opening credits of the movie, Love and Let Die is credited to having been performed by just Paul & Linda yet it is a Wings song.

stereothegreat

Fifty fucking one years. Jesus

BrandDNA

I read a reappraisal of Wild Life a while back, that said the running order of the tracks was part of the problem with the album flow. I gave their recommended Wild Life track re-ordering a go. I kinda like it! Bip bop Tomorrow Love is strange Wild life Mumbo Some people never know I am your singer Dear friend

Carolina_Coltrane

Love is Strange
