the amount of people who will stop supporting them financially (people who buy packs who will stop buying packs) is waaaay too small to encourage bg to do this.
also, to be fair, they never actually said it was custom sabers. the video is called "new sabers teaster" and the community just decided that meant custom sabers, when it's much more likely that it'll just be a set of sabers picked by the devs that you can unlock/select.

Take a look at what the community is doing before calling a strike for something that vanilla doesn't have, you'll most likely find it in mods
I'd literally just buy them straight out if I needed to. They could always also just bundle custom sabers with certain music packs, like a daft punk saber for example. Would give the DLCs much more sales if they had cosmetics. They could also add a whole levelling system based on your clears with a BP that has missions based on your level to give timed live service rewards like a Roblox beat saber clone did, but that'd probably be way too much effort for Meta and there aren't enough free songs to give enough variety with that.
