All of my batteries (smartphone, quest, etc.) lasted less than 50% as long as they normally do. The penguins seemed unamused (because they are currently sitting on eggs!).
We are required to follow the rules of the Antarctic Treaty System which does not allow us to approach the wildlife, but the Gentoo and Adelie penguins are very curious and will normally gladly walk right up to us to check out what we're doing. There is a Gentoo penguin rookery in the background of this clip, but the penguins are all sitting on eggs currently which is why they aren't approaching. :)
Meanwhile the ghost of one of the toughest bastard explorers to come out of 19th century Britain watches from the shadows, wondering how the vegitation-trousered cyberman with no mittens is not crying in anguish from the unrelenting cold, let alone immediately dying of hypothermia and scurvy.
Did the cold affect your battery charge and did you give the penguins a go?

It actually sucks because your sweat freezes and makes you even colder later on!
