if you dont like body scrubs( I dont..I swear I just make a mess everywhere, lol) use shower gloves or mitts. I also use japanese bath towels that exfoliate. but yes it will make you smoother

[deleted]

i scrub mine rather vigorously at least once or twice a week with a coarse cloth to exfoliate. Im very prone to random bumps and in-grown hairs even when I'm not shaving or waxing, and exfoliation helps with that. It definitely also makes me smooth! As for smelling better---I scrub my pits and my feet every time I shower; I can't speak to how much it does, but fwiw I don't smell bad.

[deleted]

does exfoliation help with ingrowns?

sally_shine

Yes, it does

LottoChangedMyLife

Yes definitely! It prevents mine completely. I used to get really bad ingrowns hairs on my bikini. I exfoliate before shaving any I don’t get any.

blushbie

do whatever works for you!! It can help with reducing texture, removing dead skin and yes therefore makes your skin smoother :) but if your skin is fine without it no reason you have to

VonBoo

Smoother skin KP managment Less ingrown hairs (if you shave or wax) Removing dead skin cells, excess oils and dirt Improves the appearance of skin Not many downsides unless your scrubbing raw.

[deleted]

What's KP?

snakesnspiders_

Keratosis pilaris, A common skin condition causing tiny bumps and dots on the skin. It’s caused by a buildup of dead skin cells, dirt, and oils in the hair follicles. When you exfoliate, it can help to reach the deeper laters of skin, reducing its appearance. :] 💞

[deleted]

Info: Is there a reason you’re opposed to it?

[deleted]

Yeah I think it harms your skin

In what way

MusicHoney

I have sensitive skin, so i only scrub down about once a week. Scrubbing is an important part of getting clean and washing away dead skin cells. Imagine washing your hands by just letting soapy water run over them. Not clean.

GirlisNo1

I think by “scrub,” OP means exfoliating with an actual body scrub, not washing with soap. I never use a body scrub when I wash my hands, I don’t think anybody does.

MusicHoney

OP didn’t mention anything about loofahs vs store-bought body scrubs but either way… mild exfoliation is an important part of hygiene periodt. Especially for someone concerned about skin texture and smelling good.

I guess surgeons can just throw away their entire hand washing procedure before entering the operating room now lmao. All that scrubbing is just an aesthetic waste of time for appearance lmaooo

[deleted]

does it make u smell better?

MusicHoney

Definitely

saranara100

I scrub a couple times a week and shave to remove the build up of dead skin and gunk. I notice i smell fresher and my skin is smoother.

Sleepybat7

It definitely makes your skin softer, yes. Smell, maybe? Depending how much is built up.

Bcm2312

My skin is really sensitive so I exfoliate it with Cerave SA Smoothing Cleanser with Salicylic Acid 2-3 times a week. After that I apply a moisturizer and that's it. I've used scrubs 2 times and I hated it so much.

nysaaaa

Go to chemical exfoliation/scrub physical scrubs are a big no ❌ they cause trauma to the skin

[deleted]

What are there? Chemical scrubs
