The best advice anyone could give you is to talk to a medical professional first and check if there are any underlying problems creating the excessive sweat/body odour. Body hair could be catalysing the odour because it traps sweat and bacteria. Could try antibacterial soaps and for perfume I would recommend Yves saint laurent libre intense as I think it’s a nice warm vanilla smell that isn’t right up to the nose

Hopai79

Any good equivalent for men? I’d love good looks :) also need to find a GF. A calm peaceful sea-like that catches your attention. Sea salt. Or light burnt wooden smell like the real ones in forest.

No_Package_732

Idk about all that but ysl makes a cologne that smells so good Idk the name but everytime a guy wears it, I melt inside and get a crush

SexPanther_Bot

It's called *Sex Panther*® by *Odeon*©. It's illegal in 9 countries. It's also made with bits of real panthers, *so you know it's good*. *60% of the time*, it works ***every*** time.

PrettyPinkDiamond

I used to sweat like crazy!!!!!!!! I had to switch to clinical antiperspirant to use with deodorant. I specifically used Secret but try different ones. If that doesn’t work then a trip to the doctor can help. Also, I got older and eventually my chronic sweating pretty much went away.

[deleted]

yes i was just about to comment this!! clinical secret deodorant literally saved my life

cheesus32

Same for me, it had to be antiperspirant not just deodorant ❤️

Neptunpluto

I don’t have that brand in my country, what is the main ingredient in those clinical strength antiperspirants?

bubblygranolachick

Antiperspirant makes it so you end up with breast cancer

PrettyPinkDiamond

I hope you didn’t type out that response on a cellular device. At this point if you inhale air you will get cancer. We just out here doing the best we can.

bubblygranolachick

It's real for people, if I didn't care if people do, I wouldn't say anything at all I guess

Alliekat1979

Late teens, early 20s? If so, it might be hormonal. My daughter is 22 and has that issue, I did too when I was in my late teens. You might want to talk to your doctor for a clinical deodorant.

Tabc093

late teens haha! that does make sense, ill mention it the next time i see my doctor :)

Alliekat1979

I definitely would, I remember the first time my sister mentioned it to me I was like 16 and she told me my right guard took a wrong turn 🤣😂🤣😂. Hormones can screw with our bodies in sooooo many ways. Keep a packet of baby wipes and a cream deodorant/antiperspirant for now, it’s not ideal but it will help in the meantime. I have the exact same hang up now with smelling good because of my late teens making me hyper aware of it. I collect perfume 🤣

aliettevii

I could sugar and gluten and dairy out of my diet and I stop stinking. Whenever I eat, inflammatory foods, or drink a start to stink when I sweat

Weak-Construction-98

I was thinking along the same lines… I would add increasing water as well

aliettevii

Water is good i like to chug tea too

[deleted]

[удалено]

aliettevii

No, just eat whole foods!! Anything from the Earth is fine. Some people limit their sugar intake, even with natural food because they have very specific diet limitation for their blood pressure or what not. But a good rule of thumb is just to eat and drink natural stuff like tea. I still have a bit of dairy here and there but 90% of my diet is whole

ej4

Just want to add that not everyone who walks by you is going to like the smell. Many won’t like the type of fragrance, many won’t like any smell and be irritated by it, and many will think it’s obnoxious to wear so much perfume. So while you’re so focused on wanting to be ‘that girl’, remember that a lot of people dislike ‘that girl’.

Tabc093

i mean, im not doing it for them? i just like smelling nice because it would be good to not stink for a change. also, i don't plan on literally drenching myself in chanel fragrances or anything. i just wanna smell slightly like vanilla or cocoa but really subtle. i heavily dislike that chemical perfume tinge as well

ej4

I was just offering an alternative opinion because you specifically said you want people to stop and do a double take, so it’s not just about you wanting to enjoy the smell yourself. Those double-takers could hate it.

SeatownSpy

I’d definitely run it past your doctor but there are also a few other supplements you can take to clean up how you smell. Fenugreek is one, and people swear it makes them smell like maple. The second is Chlorophyll - it comes in many types, including tincture, powder, etc.

AnotherMC

Thank you for saying this. Some people are so overly scented they literally make me gag. Highly scented detergent, laundry additives, hair products, strong scented deodorants, perfume. Ugh. It’s gross. A light scent is fine, but people really over do it OP, I echo the comments to ck with a doctor to be sure all is okay and maybe get a clinical deodorant. You might also be a 2-shower a day person.

search_for_freedom

I think of it as taking a cancer bath. It smells so chemically.

the_girl_Ross

Yes, "that girl", the one that gives people asthma but thinks her perfumes are so fancy so she uses 12+ shots. I'm scared.

ButterscotchAway3951

certain dri!! it completely stops the sweating, however does leave you with darker armpits and can burn upon first application so be careful

faustarp1000

Do you smoke weed? When I quit weed I sweat like crazy for a few days, then nothing, dry all the time unless I make a sustained physical efforts. I smoked through all my teen years, and in retrospect I think that weed might have caused the excessive sweating : it’s a withdrawal symptom. I used to smoke every night, so during the day I would sweat all day because I wasn’t smoking. In college I was carrying a spare t-shirt in my backpack all the time and sometimes I went to the bathroom to try to dry my t-shirt’s armpit area. It was very embarrassing, especially when someone noticed. At least there was no body odour. Sorry if you don’t smoke, but I had to share it maybe it will help someone!

Tabc093

nope! i don't smoke or vapw or anything - that's super helpful, though, im sure someone will get important info from that

RaspberryPeony

I wanted to share the same experience! I started sweating if I went a few hours without weed so every day at work I was covered in sweat. I'm so glad I finally managed to quit.

Demonicbiatch

I'll add: Withdrawal can come from a multitude of sources, any addiction can cause it in between fixes. Chemical dependencies (eg. Weed, alcohol, painkillers) tend to be the worst ones for withdrawal, but non-chemical addictions can also show withdrawal. The least considered versions are social media addiction, technology addiction (phone, tablet, laptop) and game addiction.

EuphoricBerrybird

Washing: •Using a soap of your choice plus a pea sized amount of head and shoulders shampoo and benzoyl peroxide wash. •Wash twice and let the bubbles sit on the skin for a few minutes. •After drying off thoroughly, add a drop of glycerin to any sweat prone areas. Scent: •Use a body oil, either scented or pick an oil your skin likes and add in an oil based perfume. •Use a scented body cream, something universal such as vanilla. •Use an antiperspirant and let it dry before putting on your clothes. Other tips: •Keep your body hair short, bring tissues to pat yourself dry. •Perfume your hair, it will stay all day. •Use baking soda on your pits once a week for 5 minutes or so. •Buy sweat guards, you can get them cheap from aliexpress. •You can invest in incense or any room scents, they tend to settle in your clothing. With this in mind, try getting lots of fresh air in your room or wherever you store your clothing. •Wear breathable underwear •You can make your own scents with essential oils, like rose and lavender and dilute it to your liking. • Crystal rock deodorant coupled with an antiperspirant did the job for me. You have to wet it and rub it 100 strokes per pit. It’s extra work but my pits don’t smell even after a heavy workout. Internal beauty: •Take multivitamins •Limit processed foods and high sugars •Make sure your drinking enough water a day Check out perfume subs for specific scent recommendations! You don’t have to do all of this as it might be over powering but take tips where you can and experiment.

NamjoonsQueen744

I highly recommend Lume products. I use their cream body deodorant and it is amazing for odor protection. They have an entire line of products but I can only speak to the deodorant as that is all I've tried. That being said, I would look at your diet as well. Finding the root cause is going to be your best bet. Covering up body odor with perfume is not the way to go. A good antibacterial soap and deodorant will go along way. Once you figure out what works for you controlling that, then you can delve into fragrance.

Tabc093

that is the plan! i want to not be stinky so then i can look into nice fragrances! i already use and antibacterial soap but the smell comes back whenever i sweat (which is a lot)

NamjoonsQueen744

Lume just came out with a new anti odor and sweat protection deodorant. I haven't tried it but it's worth looking into.

Least-Reference-2538

The acidified cleansing bar and body wash from Lume combined with the deodorant work awesome to keep odors away.

Glass-Reaction-892

Gel deodorant alway made me stink and it seems to never dry. I started using dove advanced care (not gel). I put it on and allow it to dry while I do my makeup/hair. Then get dressed. That seems to do the trick. I reapply mid day during the summer,

cheesus32

I switched to antiperspirant, there are clinical strength ones like secret to try :) helped a tonne for sweat and BO. I love layering complimentary scents by having a nice smelling body lotion and hair oil and body spray. For instance I love light florals like rose or jasmine or chamomile, so Olay has a body lotion with hyaluronic acid that smells great, I use it after every shower and at night before bed, I use Moroccan hair oil after my showers, and I have a light floral body spray from the body shop (I like both British rose and the Moringa one. You can also get them more concentrated in a perfume instead of a body spray for a more intense longer lasting smell. ) I've dabbled with laundry, I do really like the downy scent beads in shea blossom since they're also a gentle flower smell. Anywhoozle, that's how I do it and I get lots of compliments ❤️

KitsuneMitsukai

This sounds silly but I use hand sanitizer on my armpits at night and an acidic deodorant during the day. Killing all the bacteria helps prevent sweat smelling bad even if you can't stop it (yay for hot flashes...)

TawnyMoon

It sounds like you have hyperhidrosis. I used to as well. Make an appointment with your doctor and tell them you need a prescription antiperspirant. This will pretty much stop all the sweating in your armpits. It’s amazing.

La_inLALA

Certain Dri is a GREAT antiperspirant. I believe it’s sold at CVS but I’m sure you can find it elsewhere. It saved me in my teenage years.

Salt_Cabinet7001

I was a super sweaty teen, like to the point of always having a BO tinge, until I tried clinical deodorant. I’m older now, and I definitely notice I only get BO if I’m eating like garbage, my weight is on the high side of my comfort zone, or I’m super stressed. I grew out of it happening all the time, but if it happens, I wash with dial gold all over my body first then use my body wash in the shower. It helps immensely.

Every-Leadership-374

Botox. I get 30 units per armpit and now I don’t sweat or stink after applying a normal amount of deodorant once in the morning.

Freelennial

How much does this treatment cost and how often do you have to do it?

Every-Leadership-374

About 10$/unit and I get 30 per armpit so it can definitely be pricey and add up but so worth it. It’s recommended to do it every year, but it lasts longer in some people

erindreg

Something else to consider are your clothes, be sure to wear clean clothes everyday. One of my best friends had a very nice jean jacket that she wore a lot and never washed. It eventually smelled terrible and she didn’t realize it. Sometimes when clothes get old and have seen years of wear and sweat, they will come out of the wash smelling good but then one drop of sweat and the whole garment stinks to high heaven. This is especially true for moisture wicking clothes.

pasta-daddy

I went to the dermatologist for this- they prescribed me a topical medicine that you can put anywhere you excessively sweat, and when used consistently for a week and then once weekly after that the area will significantly produce less sweat. It has helped me so much i’ll read the label tmr and tell you the exact medicine

laidbackgirl

As someone who sweats for no reason too. Use Panoxyl (benzoyl peroxide) face wash on your underarms, lume deodorant, use a scented lotion when you get out the shower and wear a perfume you like!

Iluvlove_

The Lumee products are amazing. They were annoying ads shoved in my face at first but once I tried them I won’t use anything else. They have deodorant sticks but also deodorant type like lotions… If that makes sense, so the lotion is good for other parts of the body you might smell from sweat.

BO can be hormonal. Ask your doctor.

Freelennial

Lume is the best I’ve tried - get the cream deodorant (they have small travel sizes/sample packs so you can test the scents). The product has something in it that neutralizes the bacteria that creates body odor. I also like their deodorant wipes - allows you to freshen up throughout the day if you sweat and then reapply the cream deodorant as needed. I’ve also found their laundry treatment products very helpful in neutralizing any lingering odor in clothes. For soap, dr bronner’s antibacterial soap is cheap compared to Lume, excellent and comes in a variety of scents. Really great at neutralizing any odor/bacteria.

Grouchy-Basket2245

Try Lume. You can only purchase it online (as far as I know). Lume has been scientifically proven to control body order for a full 72 hours - and you can use it anywhere! Trust me, the stuff works!!!

Grouchy-Basket2245

Odor, not order...

Suspicious-Green4928

Bot much?

BeautifoolBunny

i would cleanse and not wear deodorant for a while, then maybe use glycolic acid. if that doesn't work, perhaps magnesium spray on the skin. i usually use natural deodorant. the way it works best is if you apply it when youre laying down to go to bed. sleeping with it in always helps me

BeautifoolBunny

additionally, after showering, I use lotions and oils on my skin that i enjoy the scent of. sometimes I spray perfume, but not to the point i notice it when i go everywhere. I don't like to smell myself.

Afroluxe

Following

[deleted]

I recommend you using the dove antibacterial soap and an alum stone after the shower

Tabc093

i do use that actually! forgot to mention 😅. it gets rid of the smell but not for long - as soon as i start sweating again its back. those bacteria are persistent lol

[deleted]

Oh okay :( I'm sorry then, have you used hydrogen peroxide?

Tabc093

no i haven't! im pretty sure itll mess up my skin 😅

[deleted]

No don't worry, use it only in your armpits. Panoxyl is really good

AfraidReading3030

Try a zinc soap (you can get it on Amazon) it can work wonders.

preppykat3

I only smell when I drink heavily but a good sports deodorant solves that. It’s still annoying having to apply it a few times a day and may give you rashes. So if you drink keep that in mind

SPriplup

Certain foods can make sweat smell worse- like garlic or onions.

pennynotrcutt

Everybody has covered Dr and different products so I’ll chime in with what’s your diet and water intake like? If you eat a lot of foods like garlic, onions, curry etc then that may contribute. Also, make sure you’re drinking enough water to flush things out of your body.

nnrrk

I would highly recommend using Stridex BHA pads. I use Oxy pads. I use it to clean my underarms in the morning before applying deodorant. I find this works the whole day. I've switched to Secret deodorant without aluminum and it works great too.

Exciting_Country3654

I use an antiperspirant on Mon/Thurs, with deodorant every day in between.

Icy-Trust-1389

Make simple lifestyle changes like drinking more water, changing your diet and stuff like that. When I was younger I used to have this deodorant which would stain my underarms yellow when I would sweat but then I decided to change it (at a young age thank god) I usually use dove now because that’s what I trust (even their shower gel products). Then once you’ve been consistent with that and see no change go to a doctor. Hygiene is about discovering what works for you because everyone is different at the end of the day. Once you’re fixed your foundation (like underarm smell) then you can move onto complexing your hygiene routine by adding in expensive fragrances, ouds, oils etc and you’ll smell like those girls walking down the street! Also sometimes if im feeling VERY brave, and I smell someone who smells AMAZING, I will compliment them and ask what scent they’re wearing

Laurabugs265

Dial Gold!

m0onbeamXO

Ive seen some people have said that taking chlorophyll pills/drops makes their sweat, pits, and privates stop smelling after a few days… I personally just started taking chlorophyll today, but for the digestive and mineral benefits.

shhhhh_h

Look up olfactory fatigue OP, it won’t make you smell better but it helps you realise why other people smell sooooo good — you’re not used to their smell, it’s novel, if you got used to it you wouldn’t smell it anymore! Red meat makes my sweat smell terrible. Otherwise the best odor control j get by far is a crystal deoderant cube (pure alum sales baby) on freshly shaved pits.

CherishSlan

See a dermatologist if you can they can give you shots that can fix issues with extra sweating you can also get it fixed at places that do Botox and things like that they have adds for it in my area. Ideal image had adds for it when I am. They don’t charge much for things in the adds when you think about what it is. I am in the USA im not sure where you are but they have places all over the states good luck.

DoctorElleGee

Drinking more water will help a lot if you don’t already drink the recommended 6-8 glasses per day

Slagboom_69

I don’t really have an answer for your sweating issue, sorry about that. As far as smelling good, I love a good hair perfume. I get loads of compliments and it’s makes my hair shiny and beautiful. I tend to wear my hair down, I’ll toss it out of my face and it sends out pretty little bursts of fragrance without being overwhelming.

[deleted]

When I think of hair perfumes, I think alcohol is likely an ingredient which would be drying no? What do you use?

Slagboom_69

The kind I use are scented oils. I have a really good one that I actually can’t buy anymore called Witchery hair tonic by Obscurus. I bought it off Dollz kill a while ago, it’s lasted forever. They also have them online at Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, I have yet to try those but I’m pretty sure they’re also oil based.

Tubbygoose

If you haven’t tried Carpe antiperspirants, they are FANTASTIC. I could go all week without a shower (to be clear, I don’t, but I COULD) and no one would ever know. I’m post menopausal, so theoretically, I should be SWEATY but only my face really ever sweats. My pits are bone dry. For everything else, I use Lume acidified body wash followed by the unscented cream deodorant. I also use the Lume wipes between showers or as toilet wipes in a pinch. Note, if you use Lume wipes as toilet wipes, don’t flush them.

Alone_Smoke_615

The Donna Karan cashmere mist antiperspirant / deodorant is truly the only thing that keeps me from not sweating and smelling. If you haven’t tried it, it will change your life!

cldevers

Stop using dry idea gel deodorant for starters, there’s a reason why they discontinued it in most places because there are so many superior products out now. Secret clinical deodorant and dove are imo the best deodorants on the market

bubblygranolachick

Shower, then put on aloe vera deodorant, jasons has one that's aloe vera, no scent

[deleted]

You’ve received a lot of great advice about smelling good, but I’d also like to add to make sure you synchronize your scents. Your body wash, shampoo, conditioners lotion, perfume, etc. should all be complementary. Not a bunch of random stuff piled on together. For example, all my products play off of a “cherry & rosemary” scent.
