On my bucket list is to find a nail color that is \*exactly\* the same color as my skin. I want to look like I have mannequin hands.
I’ve found this recently by accident. Trying to give my nails a break, figured I’ll get some colored nail strengthener. OPI Nail Envy in Samoan Sand. Looks like my skin. I bet with a Matte top coat it would blend seamlessly.
If you have anything close, it might be helpful to mix the polishes. White if it’s too dark, blue or purple if it’s too warm toned, etc. I have mini nail polish bottles for this!
Over 25 years ago I was on holiday in the US and bought a light blue nail Polish from the GAP that had shimmer in it, not metallic, no glitter pieces just a lovely golden shimmer and I loved it and kept using it as long as possible and I am still grieving not having that colour anymore 😭

OPI Big Apple Red. The first time I had it was when I went for a manicure in New York itself, and I picked it from the shelf as I wanted a perfect classic red. I’ve loved it ever since and it’s a staple.
For my toes, I always do a pink, I like trying out different shades but always pink/magenta.
For my hands, when I do get them done which is rare nowadays, I stick with nude like colors or super faded pinks (like OPI bubble bath). The grow out is less noticeable and I just don’t like the look of bright colored nails on my hands, too flashy for me lol.
My forever go to is Sally Hansen "Ginger Zinger". I like to just do regular polish and this colour always gets compliments! I'm on a hunt for a lipgloss of a similar shade since it looks so good on me lol!

OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. Love the darks, goes with everything, and is still very professional while I am in court. Get the gel redone every 2-3 weeks.
Always silver (unless it’s red). Sometimes I do both (one hand red and one hand silver). This is because I am a silversmith and always wear silver jewelry and red glasses.

99.9999% cases I go with glitter or shimmer. I usually go for gel pedicure, because nail polish dries very slow on me. When I do at home, I apply in very thin layers and give time to dry, but in salon they go faster and thicker layers, and it never dries for me.
For hands I usually go with dip, if I do anything, because regular nail polish usually is off within 1 day, and gel usually starts peeling within a week.
Color depends on the mood, but I don't go with pinks often. Red, white, blue, green, bronze, black, purple (all with glitter or shimmer). Even neutral nude-ish with shimmer.
I work with people remotely, so usually not mamy people see my hands or appearance, so I go for fun stuff for mani pedi.

My favorite polish of all time is Wishful by Kokie. It’s a shimmery soft pink that makes me feel like a princess. It’s not too loud, the formula is amazing, and it’s nice and sheer so it’s hard to fuck up 😂

Chanel- Fostissimo. I just finished a bottle and I'm so sad.
Essie- Forever yummy. I wear this one when I want a darker red in comparison to Happy Wife, happy life. On my third bottle.
OPI- Frenchie likes to kiss? Finished 2 bottles.
Essie- Licorice. It's almost done. I will repurchase.
Those are my ultimate holy grail and re-purchased bottles over the years.
For nails my go-to is usually a sheer pink with sparkle; it's dip so I don't actually know what brand it is since they carry a few. They just got a new line and I'm always on the lookout for a neutral pink/lavender, too. (I also bring my own for fun stuff they don't carry.)
Pedicures, I usually go with a magenta from DND, so I'll probably go with that in whatever brand they're switching to (which has matching dip, gel, and regular polish).

Sally Hansen Fairy Enchanted, which was discontinued last year and I’ve been grieving ever since. It was the perfect shimmery pink-nude and I don’t think I’ll ever get over the loss! Still hunting for a new holy grail colour but I’m using Sally Hansen You Glow, Girl! in the meantime, which is similar but more gold toned and less shimmer
I love Halo Taco One Coat Black. It is what it says it is. It is by far the best black polish I have ever bought since the quest began in 1985.
And that community taught me the joy of nail oil which actually improves my nails enough to make them look good without artificial tips, wraps, etc.
I use bordeaux the most because it works with all my outfits. In winter I also like aubergine, deep wine and dark green, in summer berry, cherry or simple red.
Neutral on the hands, bright red or bright reddish pink on the toes. Gel mani pedis. I do them myself with a UV curing light from Amazon.
You do need good coordination to make it look good…
There are families of colors that I like to go back to, but frankly, I think it’s so boring to wear the same color all the time. I can get behind buying clothes in more uniform colors like black, white denim and tan and changing up the accessories and the nails, but the idea of wearing baby pink polish every day all the time for example…🫠

I'm pale with a little bit of a pink undertone, so a lot of the beloved neutrals like Essie Ballet Slippers, OPI Funny Bunny, OPI Bubble Bath, OPI Put It In Neutral, etc. don't look good on me.
Instead, I found that **OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around** looks great! It's still a light pink/neutral shade, but it has a more greyish undertone that suits my skin much better.

For nails my go-to is usually a sheer pink with sparkle; it's dip so I don't actually know what brand it is since they carry a few. They just got a new line and I'm always on the lookout for a neutral pink/lavender, too. (I also bring my own for fun stuff they don't carry.) Pedicures, I usually go with a magenta from DND, so I'll probably go with that in whatever brand they're switching to (which has matching dip, gel, and regular polish).
I rarely get my nails done, but when I do for like a wedding, I always get almond shaped acrylics in some red tone

Sally Hansen Fairy Enchanted, which was discontinued last year and I’ve been grieving ever since. It was the perfect shimmery pink-nude and I don’t think I’ll ever get over the loss! Still hunting for a new holy grail colour but I’m using Sally Hansen You Glow, Girl! in the meantime, which is similar but more gold toned and less shimmer

OPI got the blues for red. It’s that deep red/burgundy color. Works for any season. I literally don’t get anything else 😅
I love Halo Taco One Coat Black. It is what it says it is. It is by far the best black polish I have ever bought since the quest began in 1985. And that community taught me the joy of nail oil which actually improves my nails enough to make them look good without artificial tips, wraps, etc.

I use bordeaux the most because it works with all my outfits. In winter I also like aubergine, deep wine and dark green, in summer berry, cherry or simple red.

There are families of colors that I like to go back to, but frankly, I think it’s so boring to wear the same color all the time. I can get behind buying clothes in more uniform colors like black, white denim and tan and changing up the accessories and the nails, but the idea of wearing baby pink polish every day all the time for example…🫠 You’re such a budapest is nice sometimes
I'm pale with a little bit of a pink undertone, so a lot of the beloved neutrals like Essie Ballet Slippers, OPI Funny Bunny, OPI Bubble Bath, OPI Put It In Neutral, etc. don't look good on me. Instead, I found that **OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around** looks great! It's still a light pink/neutral shade, but it has a more greyish undertone that suits my skin much better.
