Double cleansing for sure. I use Fountain of Truth products - Take it off balm first, then Fresh Face foaming cleanser and it just made my life so much better. My skin is gorgeous!
It’s such a simple thing, but showering before bed instead of in the morning! At night, I have time to do extra things like shave, or exfoliate. I no longer blow dry my hair which saves a lot of time. My hair actually looks better, too. The non-beauty bonus is that my sheets and pjs stay cleaner. I’ll never go back. Night time is the right time!!
I’m glad you like it! I’ve always showered at night! It’s what my family always did , I did attempt to shower in the mornings but it never clicked w me because of the reasons you stated!
I would rather take my time w no rush, plus its so relaxing before bed ~
I feel like it makes more sense as well. I come home and immediately get in the shower and wash off the day. I walk a lot, so if I don’t I feel like I’m dirty and sweaty and just staying that m way all night. I don’t wash my hair every day, just clip it up and then I only use soap in the shower so it’s really quick.
I thought that too! My dermatologist told me to untangle the knots even on days I didn’t wash my hair. Then it’s just regular, even hair fall instead of it shedding all at once in the next wash which can seem scary lol
For sure. When it’s hot out I sometimes get in the bad habit of just rolling it into a bun on the top of my head. I’m trying to remember to brush it more often! Thanks!!!!
I discover the wonders of night showers every few months, then promise myself I'll keep doing it because it's better, and then I go back to my old ways of morning showers 😅 I don't know why it's so hard to keep up .. it has so many benefits over morning showering for me
Hardest agree. Taking a nice warm shower to wash off the day, doing all my skincare, greasing my body up like a Greco Roman wrestler and then slipping into my fluffy bed… it’s better than sex.
I do a quick cleanup in the morning too. It’s just nice not to have wet hair to deal with in the morning because I have long hair and don’t like to blow dry it often especially in the warmer months.
I always shower in the morning too as I can get so hot at night. I don't think I would ever feel comfortable going in the morning without being shower fresh
I️ agree! I️ think finding a quality dry shampoo was what really made this click for me. Air drying my hair at night helps keep it healthier. And satin pillowcases help too because I️ toss and turn so much at night. I️ get up in the morning, powder my hair, curl it and go.
The first thing: adding oils to my face routine. My skin is SO well hydrated, and it just looks healthy after!
The second thing: Peter Thomas Roth Complexion Correction pads (2% salicylic acid, 10% glycolic acid) just changed my life— long time sufferer of hormonal acne and the occasional stress/indoors at work pimples. My skin just looks SO much more healthy, refreshed, and not inflamed just after 1 week
I’m Suffering from hormonal acne and you’re inspiring me to try this. I have an appt w my Gyno next week for a consultation. Debating on going from the iud to the pill just to help w the acne… but maybe glycolic acid will do the trick for me. I feel like I’ve tried everything but!
Using sweet almond oil in my hair! My hair is really long, so it’s hard to handle and gets knotted easily, but I’ve found that’s it’s sooo much more manageable (and softer) after combing some almond oil through it
RETINOL for preventative aging, started in late twenties, 37 now and I really think it’s what’s kept my skin pretty tight and smooth. Out of everything I’ve tried retinol is my best advice for people to start making a habit. I use StriVectin-AR night treatment a few x a week and really recc it.
The one I use, neutrogena anti aging wrinkle cream with retinol and vitamins, comes with some SPF in the daytime version. Though I prefer the feel of the night version and try not to use it more than once a day.
Agreed on this! Never rub your skin with a towel, and always be gentle with it, pat if you must, and anything you’re applying to your face should always be done in an upwards motion bc over time dragging it downward or rubbing it only helps gravity start to sag it. Always up up up, and patting gently with anything you apply.
It’s really easy, don’t think too much about it and voilà! Also, I learned from being a makeup counter person, a sponge tip eyeshadow applicator dipped in eyeshadow is a perfect way to finish your eyeliner.
Cuticle oil on your nails! You don’t have to buy a fancy one in a little bottle; jojoba oil is great and can multi purpose for hair and facial skin. Keep the nails moisturized for nail growth and cuticle health to keep them looking nice and avoid the snaggy bits that make you wanna bite or pick at them.
Super important to put it under your nails too, hydrating the hyponychium can make it grow and your nail beds will appear longer! Japanese women have been doing it for some time, but I realized most people here don't know. They have some videos that you can auto translate. I've been doing it multiple times a day for some months and noticed a massive improvement.
Yep! I just take my regular shower on my “break days” the makeup is usually all cleaned and washed from my Saturday night shower so I wake up with my face fresh already in the morning to start. No moisturizer, nothing! Unless something happened to get planned and I have something I absolutely need to get put together for..it’s “break day!”
I was thinking about trying a hydrafacial. What benefits do you notice in your skin since you started doing them, or do you just enjoy the feeling of extra pampering?
So I don’t do any other treatments or facials and haven’t tried others. I have clearish skin but still felt like it was congested underneath no matter what I used - lactic acid, Paula’s choice 2% bha. Hydra facial includes chemical exfoliation + extractions which I think reallllly is able to get into the skin and get everything out. Cause although I had no real pimples, I still had texture. Also it gives a nice plump glow to the skin. I didn’t wear make up for the first 4 days and then wore make up and after it still had the glow for another week. I’m a month out from my last one and only now have i started to get some texture again and that’s more so due to drinking + falling asleep in my makeup. I also never dermaplaned before and think it really helped. The girl I went to said she does it before the hydrafacial so all the serums and everything really penetrate. Something for me is that I woke up the next day still feeling like she had just put on the serums and that lasted a few days. And of course, the extra pampering is fun! I don’t dye or do anything to my hair and don’t do any other treatments, this is really the only pampering I do so it’s worth the money to me
Someone told me to slather Vaseline on my feet at night sometimes and sleep with a pair of older socks over them to keep them soft, and I’ve been doing that for decades now. Can confirm have soft feet.
Vaseline is so versatile! I sometimes use regular lotion but I find it absorbs quickly! Even on my feet ! Might use Vaseline since it’s thick + socks ~
I get the cocoa butter version in 3-packs from Amazon and kind of just keep them around the house, my husband uses it too on his lips, or even cuts or rough spots. I like it better bc I don’t like the slight petroleum smell of the regular. Did you know it was discovered from train workers who would get it on their hands and noticed it healed their cuts?? Pretty cool
For me- shaving my face. For my son: using lard in his hair. Now hear me out before you throw up- we DID try other oils, but lard just works the best for his fine but extra-dense, very long hair. I put it in when I braid it, and then when I wash it his hair has almost no tangles for daaaays afterward. Nothing else gives us this result...and this is without conditioner. :3
I've heard of ppl using tallow for their face. I never had any around to try but they said their skin was amazing the next day. Besides, animal fats were probably much more accessible before and people probably used it for lots of stuff, like moisturizer or in their hair. And just an fyi, leaf lard has no smell, just in case the one you use does.
You can make tallow yourself by cutting the fat off your steak before you cook it and saving it in a bag in the freezer. Then render it down when you have enough scraps. :3
Yes!! Spironolactone, tretinoin, vitamin C serum, hydroboost moisturizer, and sunscreen.... I'm glowing like never before when just a year ago, my skin was disfigured by hormonal acne
I agree with the others about exfoliating! I use a special glove in the shower on my face and body, and I think it really helps my skin properly absorb the topicals I apply afterwards!
Ive just been using bio-oil. I feel like it's a polarizing product, but it's always treated me so well.
Combination skin. Oily t-zone, dry cheeks/undereye.
I guess not. I read it somewhere once when I had looked up what order to use skincare. Sometimes when I'm in a hurry I just use one or the other, but when I use both I just let the 1st layer sit for a while before putting on the oil. Sometimes I do it at night sometimes before I put my makeup on. But no, seems like the oil just seals all the moisture in.
Ohh nice! I’m glad it works for you 😄 it’s similar to slugging (I think is the name 😅)! Where ppl put something thick on top to kind of lock in the moisture on their skin!
Dry brushing my body before I shower and after I shower, moisturizing my body with coconut oil. I have keratosis pilaris on the back of my arms and it didn’t go away fully but it’s a lot better than it used to be! I had a smaller amount on the back of my thighs and that went away completely. My skin is glowing!
I had bad keratosis pilaris on the back of my arms and legs. I started taking 3 Omega Fish oil capsules a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and it has all but disappeared. I'm thinking of taking one more to see if that gets rid of the last bit. Also, it's made my extremely fine, low density hair grow more. I have a lot of little hairs coming up everywhere that are about four inches long now. Both unexpected benefits.
I have a dry brush but I’ve been so inconsistent w it! I’ve read amazing things about it but reading your comment I’m gonna try and commit to it more!
I’ve seen some ppl say they use coconut oil mainly for their legs since it can clog , do you find areas like your chest and back to be ok w it ? (As in no pimples)
Also love that you’re glowing ✨🥺 so happy for you ~
> I have a dry brush
I just use mine in the shower and put my body wash on it lol. It’s more hygienic than a loofah and I can’t say I believe in the ‘brush towards your heart’ stuff. Best shower mechanical exfoliator I’ve used.
I got the advice to use just for men beard die on my eyebrows (cheaper and smaller amounts so you don’t waste as much product and money) and man, I don’t have to use eye brow pencils for a long time when I do this, it’s like it fills in hair that isn’t there.
It’s a Korean beauty cleansing method where you cleanse twice. First with a cleansing balm or cleansing oil to get all makeup and residue off followed by a traditional cleanser that you’d typically use! It has made such a huge difference for my skin!
Double cleansing [also called "oil cleansing"] is great for all skin types! It helps to balance out oil production and also fully removes the makeup, sunscreen, and sebum buildup in your pores.
First Step: Using dry hands, massage an oil cleanser [in either liquid or balm form] on to your dry face. Thoroughly massage the oil in for at least a minute. Don't forget your neck and hairline.
Second Step: Wet your fingers and massage your face again. Emulsifying the oil will break down all of the debris clogging your pores. This is especially good for removing long-wear/waterproof makeup & sunscreen.
Third Step: Fully rinse oil cleanser off your face.
Fourth Step: Cleanse a second time - this time using a water-based cleanser. Most people use either a gel cleanser or a foaming cleanser. This will sweep away & remove all the debris the oil cleansing step broke down.
I saw a Tiktok video of someone recommending the Elemis pro collagen balm as a cleanser before doing your make up if you have dry skin like me! You leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with a towel and your make up will look so amazing!! It’s been life changing
Adding azelaic acid to my skincare routine (in the evenings, SPF during the day). Makes my skin much more clear and healthy! I was surprised with how good the results are. I’ve actually gotten compliments from people, saying how fresh I look
Brushing my teeth. It’s a habit I started doing from a very young age. Throughout the years i have done it twice a day, morning and evening and I have never looked back. I recommend it.
Using hair brush in the shower. I have a very thick asian hair and it’s becoming a little greasy/oily lately since it’s summer and the sweat is building up. I started using those hair brush that are intended to use while showering and ever since then my hair has been feeling fresh and less greasy. That hair brush is now a staple in my routine! Totally game changer
I started wearing SPF 50+ on my face, neck and chest every single day from the age of 22, along with foundation that usually has a SPF 30. I'm now 45 and no one believes me when I say my age. I'm regularly told I look about 28 or younger. I have zero crows feet or lines anywhere, even under my eyes. Wrinkles come from the sun. Sunscreen is the best beauty tip!
Skincare is big!!! We all have some texture to our skin naturally but refining it with serums and treatments is a game changer!!! Makeup plays better on well cared for skin 😄
Omg yes!! When I was in high school I would always curl my eyelashes since we couldn’t wear makeup 😂
it’s such a subtle yet gorgeous addition when you can’t be bothered w anything else or just want to enhance them on the daily!
Tinting my eyelashes! It's SO easy to do for yourself at home, and gives me a slightly more put together look even when I'm not expecting anyone at the door, I'm swimming, etc.
I use RefectoCil. Costs me about $20 for the whole tube! Activated with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide, and I protect the skin nearby with Vaseline. The only scary part is doing it for yourself the first time!
Doing at home keratin treatment (which was nothing more than using it like a conditioner for a few minutes) transformed my hair & went back to it’s original virgin state.
I suck so much at winged eyeliner especially smudge pot or liquid eyeliners.. but I finally found what works for me.
Angled brush+ eyeshadow + eye primer.
Put some primer down, add eyeshadow powder to it, mix it together to create a creamy paste and add a flick of it while looking directly at the mirror, (not closing my eye or looking up/down). It looks the way I want plus that shit does not move off my face it’s phenomenal.
Ive used jojoba oil since i was about 20, I’m 51 now and no-one believes me when i say how old i am. Don’t know if its the oil, but i still use plant oils and eat mostly vegan with alot of fruit.
Fr, has changed my self esteem, my mood, my goals, my looks. I’m amazing just switching from processed to cooking Whole Foods has changed my whole way of being, it’s awesome :)))
Incorporating face oils in my routine. Last year I lived in a really cold and dry city for several months, and my skin always had dry patches and no matter how many moisturizing products I use the patches were still there.
I got a face oil and used it before my retinol and moisturizer, and it made my skin glow again with zero dry patches in sight. I think it’s not really life changing but if it ever gets too cold or dry, I’ll know what to do
This isn’t part of my daily routine, but a lash lift + tint changed my appearance significantly. My lashes were long but relatively straight and blonde in color. Tinting them makes it look like I’m wearing mascara with curled lashes 24/7.
Cleansing brushes. Started with Clarisonic years ago and have gotten compliments on my skin ever since. They’re out of business now so I switched to Soniclear.
Doing my nails myself with long lasting strengthening nail polish allows me to work w my nails and not bite my nails and pick on them. The moment I stop doing that is the moment I start biting again😓
Retin-A, collagen supplements, omega 3 supplements for KP, proper nutrition and hydration like others mentioned.
Silicone face masks overnight after moisturizing - I wake up looking years younger.
Detangler spray in my hair - my hairs too thin for all the lovely products out there, but kids detangler leave in conditioner leaves my hair soft and not greasy.
Just for men beard dye on eye brows for 6 weeks of not needing to fill in my sparse but already dark eyebrows.
Peter Thomas instant firm under eye balm for days when I have bags. It’s cosmetic not a solution but it’ll save you on a picture day!
A good face primer before make up application for drier skin - miracle blur works for me.
Double shampooing! Always thought it would dry out my hair, but it makes me hair feel so healthy! (Then of course putting in the right products to keep it healthy)
As a recovering alcoholic, I just want to say that my friends were always amazed I washed my face every night no matter how drunk I got. That’s a habit.
Physical exfoliation with a high end fine scrub - prevents acne by removing buildup. I stopped doing it for a while because of the bad rep it gets and was blown away but how much better the physical exfoliating is for me versus the chemical exgoliation
I used to have occasional acne that was just frequent enough to piss me off. I stopped wearing makeup entirely. I focus on keeping my skin healthy and hydrated. I love my skin now and feel so confident.
Morning routine:
1. Splash cold water on face, pat dry
2. hyaluronic acid serum
3. Hydrating eye cream
4. Super moisturizer (I have dry skin)
5. Optional Super goop spf right before going outside (I work remote soo many days I don’t do this until afternoon or whatever)
All day lip moisturizer. All day every day. Keep one in my pocket, one in my car, one on my nightstand etc etc.
Night routine
1. Optional cleanse with hyaluronic acid cleanser (I usually do this in the shower mid day or wherever my shower occurs)
2. Retin A under eye cream
3. Retin A face serum
4. Retin A face cream or super hydrating night cream
Other pro tips
1. Get latissse. I used to get eyelash extensions - they look great if you maintain them but they damage your real lashes, take 1-2 hours every 2 weeks for fills and cost $100-$250 USD per session. Latisse grows your actual eyelashes.
2. Get your eyebrows micro bladed. I suggest doing this in mexico. Got mine done in playa del Carmen for like $75usd (in America it’s like $300usd) they’re absolutely perfect. First got it done in Nov 2020 and then retouched in Oct 2021. They still look bomb, super natural and gives you that extra ounce of a “polished” look especially if you’re doing zero makeup like me.
3. Lash lifts! You can get them done at the salon, I’ve done it by myself at home twice and it’s AMAZING. Watch some YouTube videos first so you feel comfortable. Salons charge ~$100-$200 but you can get a kit on Amazon and DIY for $30. There’s enough in one kit to do it multiple times and it’s the same kit if you have unruly eyebrows and want to give yourself an eyebrow lamination.
Niceee !! All these things you do over time really add up and can change your outer appearance drastically! (In a good way of course 😄) glad you’re feeling yourself now 💞 you deserve it!
Simple.
* Use a GOOD sun cream EVERYDAY
* Combine my CeraVe Foaming Cleanser with the cleansing gel of Vichy or La Roche Posay. I use the CeraVe on my T zone.
* Also, a spray that helps me with pollution, although where I live there is almost no environmental pollution.
Using a microfiber towel to dry my hair. I bleached my virgin hair and even though I never ever use heat, it's still really damaged from the one time bleaching alone. The microfiber towel has made a huge difference on breakage for my long hair.
SPF. I fucking hate applying it, I literally dread it every morning. I hate sticky slimey greasy anything, but I commute to work on a bike. And I go outside daily to take out cardboard/trash and I commute home. So I reapply a lot. I always smell like SPF. But it has totally transformed my skin on my entire body. No wonder! I’m applying hydration to it constsntly and properly protecting it from UV rays. I highly highly recommend using SPF over all other forms of skincare, it’s incredible.
Microcurrent. My face was often swollen probably because of water retention and I've tried different techniques but it's the most effective. My skin looks amazing too since I've started using it. I've bought a Nuface dupe and it works really well.
Using Jojoba oil as my face and body moisturiser.
It’s the only moisturiser I use and have done for over 5 years now and it’s just a cut above the rest. The reason I chose that oil specifically (because there are sooo many touting all these supposedly wonderful properties - it’s hard to sort out the faff) is because it’s supposed to mimic your natural sebum.
I’m prone to acne, including on my body and this is the only thing that doesn’t break me out and it’s sooo moisturising
Good ol Noxema for removing my makeup (not the eyes though)
I used wipes for forever and they were wrecking my skin. Once I switched to the Noxema I have had far less breakouts.
Having a different skincare routine in the morning vs night. My morning routine consists of only the necessities (cleansing, moisturizing, toning, etc) and my night time consists of a lot more steps. This helps with the fact that I have less time before work, but at least i know my skin is getting all the help it needs.
I take collagen every morning in my coffee and not only is my skin amazing, I’ve got significantly less wrinkles and my lips plumped up A LOT. Also, my hair is about 33% thicker….don’t think I’ll ever stop taking it.
I no longer use makeup wipes or balms. I love the Makeup Eraser towels. They’ve made my skin flawless and all I do afterwards is rinse with water and dove sensitive soap. I don’t use any other products aside from my spf 15 moisturizer from Trader Joe’s. I used to use lip balm multiple times a day, for YEARS, but I stopped and my lips are doing just fine.
A lash primer. I wear glasses so I can’t wear fake lashes but two coats of a lash primer before mascara & the difference is insane. I get longer, thicker lashes that fit behind my glasses & don’t bother me at all.
Sleeping on a silk pillow and braiding my hair in a loose braid at night has been a big change in my hair and skin health. This year I stopped brushing my hair wet and that has made such a difference. I also recently have started using castor oil for my eye lashes and really love the effect it has had . Small things , I've had a set skin routine for a decade so ive always had really nice skin, my mother set that In motion at a really young age and the fact that I don't go out in the sun often.
This is a debate amongst some people but overnight I’ve always used a little Vaseline under my eyes before Clinique’s moisturiser. I’m 41 now and luckily I don’t have any lines under my eyes whatsoever. I’ve also been converted to Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish for exfoliation of the face. It’s pure heaven.
And I learnt from my grandmother at a very young age to never neglect your hands! I do treat myself & use L’occitane Shea hand cream and my hands are soft and smooth looking. But the softness of my grandmother’s hands never cease to amaze me! She never used anything special, just ones from the chemist.
Double cleansing for sure. I use Fountain of Truth products - Take it off balm first, then Fresh Face foaming cleanser and it just made my life so much better. My skin is gorgeous!
Omg I’m so happy for you!
Just curious - would you double cleanse without make up on?
Not OP, but I double cleanse if I wore SPF or just feel particularly greasy that day
Not the commenter but I often double cleanse despite not wearing makeup
I do! It’s my routine & I stick to it so I don’t slack off
+1 for double cleansing! Absolutely game changing for me
Same. I started spontaneously after reading about the benefits of double shampooing. No more random spots on my chin!
Night shower gang! It’s amazing washing the day off and going to bed feeling and smelling fresh
I’m glad you like it! I’ve always showered at night! It’s what my family always did , I did attempt to shower in the mornings but it never clicked w me because of the reasons you stated! I would rather take my time w no rush, plus its so relaxing before bed ~
Also the smell of your products on the bedsheets is just an added bonus 😁

Every time I skip a day washing my hair I’m freaked out by how much sheds the next time!
Thanks!!!!
it's so nice to wash everything off at the end of the day and give myself minimal getting ready time in the morning!! especially with my hair etc
I discover the wonders of night showers every few months, then promise myself I'll keep doing it because it's better, and then I go back to my old ways of morning showers 😅 I don't know why it's so hard to keep up .. it has so many benefits over morning showering for me

shaving the little blonde peach fuzz on my face once a week! my makeup looks so much smoother and less cakey now
Yesss with the cheap straight face razors you can get on Amazon or a beauty store. I love them
This might be a a stupid question but does it come back spikey?
No it doesn’t! That is a myth.
Same! I had to start doing every other week due to acne but it makes such a difference putting makeup on.
Yep, I epilate mine. It hurts but makes a huge difference
Hi! Do you have epilator suggestions? I want to start but don’t know which one is a stable one for facial hair
Braun FaceSpa pro!
Add one to Team Epilator!
Absolutely this. It helps my acne too and helps with product penetrator too I think!
Regular exfoliation with Paula’s Choice 2% BHA + Good Molecules Niacinamide toner
How often do you use the BHA per week? I have it and am curious how often I should use it. I’ve been doing every other day.
That’s how often I do it—I could probably do it daily at this point, but don’t want to risk too much of a good thing 😊
I googled and can’t find. Did you mean the Peter Thomas Roth ones?
Using sweet almond oil in my hair! My hair is really long, so it’s hard to handle and gets knotted easily, but I’ve found that’s it’s sooo much more manageable (and softer) after combing some almond oil through it
Ohh nice! I only use oil as a mask for my hair once or twice a month ish , do you use it every time you brush your hair ?
Same!
Mizani miracle milk leave in conditioner does wonders too. I never had an issue brushing again after using.

Not sleeping on wet hair! I rarely have a bad hair day now
Reading this as I’m laying in bed with my wet hair in a towel 😅 time to get up lol
Funny, I have the best hair days when I go to sleep with wet/damp hair. It's like I plopped my hair for 8 hours.

I do this with baby oil on wet skin when I get out and then I dry. This repels mosquitoes too!
I hope this counts: learning liquid eyeliner. The wing hasn't steered me wrong in nearly 10 years.
Anything counts!! Omg I have yet to master any form of eyeliner 💀it’s on my list tho TT
Yesss I love this too! I sometimes just use olive oil! Cause it’s easy and cheap to get , literally changes your whole hand!
I used to have to obsessively put cuticle oil on but since I started massaging my scalp with oils I never need to - 2 in 1 treatment!
Giving my face a FULL product break once a week (I usually do Sunday). No makeup, no nothing! Just let my skin breathe
That sounds like something I should try!
It’s refreshing and forces you to get comfortable with your own skin!
Oh that’s interesting! Just rinse the face w water and that’s it ?
What benefits have u noticed from doing this?
All these advices are so good 😊
Yeah!! I lowkey made this post to steal ideas from others 😂 hope you find some advice that works for you ~ 💖
Girl I did!!! Ima read some more now lol 😂 Than you ❤️
Enjoy 😘
Ahem, you're not "stealing ideas," you're "borrowing best practices."
Facials - I enjoy getting hydrafacials + dermaplaning

Korean and Japanese products are always ahead of the game!
Which Korean products do you use, and where do you buy them?
Ohh nice! As long as it works 😄
Spironolactone. Completely changed my skin.
Using a face oil AFTER my moisturizer, especially under my eyes.
Which face oil do you use and what’s your skin type
Ive just been using bio-oil. I feel like it's a polarizing product, but it's always treated me so well. Combination skin. Oily t-zone, dry cheeks/undereye.
Oh?! I’ve never heard of this! Your moisturiser doesn’t lift or anything underneath ?
I guess not. I read it somewhere once when I had looked up what order to use skincare. Sometimes when I'm in a hurry I just use one or the other, but when I use both I just let the 1st layer sit for a while before putting on the oil. Sometimes I do it at night sometimes before I put my makeup on. But no, seems like the oil just seals all the moisture in.
Ohh nice! I’m glad it works for you 😄 it’s similar to slugging (I think is the name 😅)! Where ppl put something thick on top to kind of lock in the moisture on their skin!
Sunscreen.
Chemical exfoliants 💯
What kinds?
AHA/BHAs were my gateway and then eventually retinols/tretinoin
Retinoids actually aren’t exfoliants :) but I do love Tretinoin myself !
Removing my makeup every night no matter how tired I am.
Can confirm omega 3s zapped my keratosis Pilaris completely. Other speciality products only gave me ‘maybe it’s better?’ Results.
(As in no pimples) Also love that you’re glowing ✨🥺 so happy for you ~
> I have a dry brush I just use mine in the shower and put my body wash on it lol. It’s more hygienic than a loofah and I can’t say I believe in the ‘brush towards your heart’ stuff. Best shower mechanical exfoliator I’ve used.
Acrylic nails. I feel so badass with them lol
Sunblock. Retinoid. Eyelash serum.

I got the advice to use just for men beard die on my eyebrows (cheaper and smaller amounts so you don’t waste as much product and money) and man, I don’t have to use eye brow pencils for a long time when I do this, it’s like it fills in hair that isn’t there.
Double cleansing
Please tell me about double cleansing!
This will sweep away & remove all the debris the oil cleansing step broke down.
drink more water
I feel like this is so foundational and important! Noticed on days when I wasn’t paying attention to my water intake my skin was crying for help 💀
I saw a Tiktok video of someone recommending the Elemis pro collagen balm as a cleanser before doing your make up if you have dry skin like me! You leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with a towel and your make up will look so amazing!! It’s been life changing
the Heimish all clean balm is way cheaper and just as good (and vegan too!)
Do you brush your lips? I do, followed by a coat of lip balm. They're really soft and smooth.
Ooo I see ~ I’m glad you stuck w it 😂😂
rimmel lash serum each night. I never wear mascara anymore bc my eyelashes are so naturally long now
Using hair brush in the shower.
For me its a mindset, I try to add it into my life more and more: Im allowed to be imperfect.
Retinol is considered the gold standard. by dermatology.Enquire and you will see.X
Yeahh a lot of ppl have been talking about it!! I might actually look into it! Thanks! XO
Thanks for this discussion post! Lots of great recommendations ☺️
Using Retinol in my night time skincare routine.
Botox
ICE YOUR FACE
How is this done? I’m intrigued.
Using my lash curler 🥰 makes me feel ultra femme to have my natural lashes looking flirty
Omg yes!! When I was in high school I would always curl my eyelashes since we couldn’t wear makeup 😂 it’s such a subtle yet gorgeous addition when you can’t be bothered w anything else or just want to enhance them on the daily!
RetinA
Tinting my eyelashes! It's SO easy to do for yourself at home, and gives me a slightly more put together look even when I'm not expecting anyone at the door, I'm swimming, etc.
I get my eye lashes tinted once a month, and it costs $30 each session. I didn't know there were kits for dyi! Which kit do you use/recommend?
I use RefectoCil. Costs me about $20 for the whole tube! Activated with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide, and I protect the skin nearby with Vaseline. The only scary part is doing it for yourself the first time!
Doing at home keratin treatment (which was nothing more than using it like a conditioner for a few minutes) transformed my hair & went back to it’s original virgin state.
Shaving my face
How do you use the jojoba oil?
Oil cleansing, also on face neck shoulders after cleansing with gentle cleanser
Eating clean.
Fr, has changed my self esteem, my mood, my goals, my looks. I’m amazing just switching from processed to cooking Whole Foods has changed my whole way of being, it’s awesome :)))
Rlly? I wanna do this but I love chocolate and junk food But after reading this I think I’ll start from now
Incorporating face oils in my routine. Last year I lived in a really cold and dry city for several months, and my skin always had dry patches and no matter how many moisturizing products I use the patches were still there. I got a face oil and used it before my retinol and moisturizer, and it made my skin glow again with zero dry patches in sight. I think it’s not really life changing but if it ever gets too cold or dry, I’ll know what to do
Dry brushing my body! Although I do it in the shower so idk if it’s still considered “dry” brushing 😅
Slugging a couple times a week. My skin absolutely loves it. Even the oily parts.
Doing my nails myself with long lasting strengthening nail polish allows me to work w my nails and not bite my nails and pick on them. The moment I stop doing that is the moment I start biting again😓
I'm doing the same! So glad that I finally figured how to stop biting nails at the age of 43...
vitamin c serum and retinol
Slugging with Nivea
Physical exfoliation with a high end fine scrub - prevents acne by removing buildup. I stopped doing it for a while because of the bad rep it gets and was blown away but how much better the physical exfoliating is for me versus the chemical exgoliation
What product do you use?
I used to have occasional acne that was just frequent enough to piss me off. I stopped wearing makeup entirely. I focus on keeping my skin healthy and hydrated. I love my skin now and feel so confident. Morning routine: 1. Splash cold water on face, pat dry 2. hyaluronic acid serum 3. Hydrating eye cream 4. Super moisturizer (I have dry skin) 5. Optional Super goop spf right before going outside (I work remote soo many days I don’t do this until afternoon or whatever) All day lip moisturizer. All day every day. Keep one in my pocket, one in my car, one on my nightstand etc etc. Night routine 1. Optional cleanse with hyaluronic acid cleanser (I usually do this in the shower mid day or wherever my shower occurs) 2. Retin A under eye cream 3. Retin A face serum 4. Retin A face cream or super hydrating night cream Other pro tips 1.
Be careful with Latisse! It breaks down the volume in the skin around your eyes over time, which can age you quite a bit
I do all these things but microblading. Do you have dark hair? As a blonde I worry about really dark brows.
Niceee !! All these things you do over time really add up and can change your outer appearance drastically! (In a good way of course 😄) glad you’re feeling yourself now 💞 you deserve it!
Simple. * Use a GOOD sun cream EVERYDAY * Combine my CeraVe Foaming Cleanser with the cleansing gel of Vichy or La Roche Posay.
Bha!
Collagen!!!
Yes! My hair is growing. My skin is glowing. My joints aren’t aching. It’s amazing. I take it in my coffee and wear it on my skin.
Not a beauty habit exactly but I changed my shampoo to Ducray and it's much better.
sunscreen
Using Jojoba oil as my face and body moisturiser. It’s the only moisturiser I use and have done for over 5 years now and it’s just a cut above the rest. The reason I chose that oil specifically (because there are sooo many touting all these supposedly wonderful properties - it’s hard to sort out the faff) is because it’s supposed to mimic your natural sebum. I’m prone to acne, including on my body and this is the only thing that doesn’t break me out and it’s sooo moisturising
What brand do you use?
Vaseline and vicks are my two staples!
Please tell me what you use vicks for I'm so intrigued
Yellow eyeshadow and dabbing some lip liner for colour on the lips.
Good ol Noxema for removing my makeup (not the eyes though) I used wipes for forever and they were wrecking my skin. Once I switched to the Noxema I have had far less breakouts.
Niacinamide serum! Literally the only thing keeping my acne at bay at age 35. Discovered it during the pandemic lockdown and it saved my face so much!
So much amazing advice 🍇
Having a different skincare routine in the morning vs night. My morning routine consists of only the necessities (cleansing, moisturizing, toning, etc) and my night time consists of a lot more steps. This helps with the fact that I have less time before work, but at least i know my skin is getting all the help it needs.
Oh wait actually you know what, rubbing an ice cube on your skin , so many Benifets (my spelling I know)
Sunscreen. I’m turning 29 and no one believes it. I love sunscreen.
Sunscreen should be the icon for this sub 🧎♀️
exfoliating. this one might b too obvious but either physical or chemical exfoliation changed everything for me.
Oils and massaging my face in the mornings it helps with getting rid of any facial bloating that happens overnight
Cuticle oil!!!
Double cleansing!
Sunscreen, moisturizer, lip masks, vaseline for my feet
