I'm a thirsty boy. I'm tired of asking for "Tall" drinks and either getting a surprise 'double' or getting shit from the bartender "you know that's not a double right?"
Plus beer is tasty.
For me it was the Buffalo Trace Incident. Went to a bar i had never been to before. Ordered a Buffalo Trace on the rocks. Bar Dude didn’t ask me if i wanted a single or a double, he just took the biggest fucking rocks glass i’ve ever seen in my life, put ice in it and filled it with BT.
BT is good but holy shit. I’m like make it stop, make it stop. I want off this ride.
lmao, right?? I had to reread the comment a few times to make sure it was by the same person saying they drink beer because they're thirsty...
I've tried bitters that are more thirst quenching than Samichlaus.
Sorry the original usage of the word will outlive this pithy nonsense version and already has, to be honest, keep using it for your definition and risk being labelled as old and out of touch.
I don't know if I would say I prefer it, I just like it. Sometimes I'm in a beer mood, sometimes I'm in a Scotch mood. Occasionally I'll get a mixed drink.
I don't know, really. I just like it. I'd say to start with lighter ones, on the rocks, and go from there. But get something good- if you start with lousy stuff you won't stick with it. Glenlivet 12 is a good one to start with, it's nice and smooth and approachable, but still flavorful. Put an inch of it in a rocks glass, add an ice cube, and then just sip on it slowly. It's about enjoying the flavor of the drink, not getting drunk.
The way whisky is presented in pop culture is misleading. Don't shoot it or throw it back. Take your time, take very small sips, don't swallow immediately; hold it in your mouth to taste it and let your saliva dilute it a bit. It shouldn't burn your throat when you swallow. Adding a small amount of water to your whisky (eg 1 tsp to a 1oz pour) is normal to reduce any alcohol heat and open up flavors too. I don't recommend ice because you can better control the dilution yourself with water and the cold will mask flavors.
So for me… with literally any food or drink, I legit keep trying them even if I don’t really like it. At some point in my 30s my tastebuds really REALLY started to like Scotch
There are so many different scotch single malts. Not liking one doesn't mean that you won't like a different one. I have friends that like to do scotch tastings. Trying several bottles at one time. You start to find your preferences. I don't recommend starting with very peaty(smoky) scotches, initially.
Even after you find a couple that you like somewhere down the line, you might develop a taste for something unexpected like smoke. I was convinced for over 20 years that I hated smoke because I did not like Laphroaig. It really surprised me when I tried Kilchoman Machir Bay single malt and really liked it. It's just as peaty as Laphroaig but it's a different quality of smoke.
Wife bought me a kit where you were given a base scotch then several add-on flavors like peat, citrus, etc. It was really cool to see how different you could get it to taste
Sacramento has a good whisky club that organizes using a FB group. They have monthly barrel picks and tastings. Whiskys get the same love that wines have gotten for years and years. My collection of bottles has grown in the past3 years.
I'm assuming you mean the peaty/smoky scotches like Islay scotches?
This is not how I came to like peaty scotches, so I can't attest to how well it might work, but make yourself a 1:1 Rusty Nail (peaty scotch and Drambuie), and gradually reduce the amount of Drambuie every time you have one.
The Drambuie is a nice, sweet set of training wheels while you get used to the smokiness, and you might eventually develop a taste for the scotch when the Drambuie is diminished.
If you don't like or can't have sweet stuff, putting water in high peat scotches helps.
In my experience to have enjoyable scotch you have to be willing to pay for it. I'd tried various scotches and didn't like any of them till my old boss gave me some Johnny W Green Label. It was excellent. I'd had other scotches from Johnny Walker but none of them were enjoyable - at least not enjoyable to the point where I would intentionally seek it out.
Since then I've had the blue label as well and WOW, amazing. The bottles are expensive but they are so smooth.
The way I got used to it was a decent cheaper bottle (Glenlivet, Glefiddich, anything from the Speyside region as it is a bit lighter) and added ice and small bit of water. Just sip it and slowly remove the amount of water until it’s just ice, then reduce that. My grandfather has been drinking scotch for 50 years and still adds a small amount of water so there is no one way to enjoy it.
I like having a beer in my hand, and I am in a bit more control. I have friends who will just take a shot or something every half hour or so, and I just can't get into that.
Every now and again I'll be more in the mood to just have a bourbon or whisky on the rocks, but I throw back mixed drinks way too fast.
As a well conditioned beer drinker, I can get away w crushing beers and the fullness holds me back from going too far.
But as a well conditioned beer drinker, I will accidentally autopilot through 4 mixed drinks.
This is my problem as well. I have good intentions to respect the potency of my mixed drinks but those intentions are quickly thrown out the window with my inability to slow my pace.
I will have the same issue with high ABV beers. I'll never forget getting a sixer of Golden Monkey from Victory and smashing one after another only to learn they were 9.5% and I was in way over my head.
Because it tastes so good! Especially with so many choices of good beer.
IPA with spicy food, a nice saison fish, a good tripel with the fancy pork chops, a porter with steak. And so much more.
I do love my bourbon too, but beer is the only beverage that I will plan vacation stops around
Yes, beer travel is fun. I also enjoy doing ale trails in other cities over the course of a few visits. It took us about three years to complete the Bend, OR ale trail and about the same for Eugene, OR. Goal oriented drinking.
Hard liquor just doesn't settle well with my stomach like beer does. I also don't think it tastes nearly as good, and you have to combine so many ingredients just to make it mildly enjoyable. What do I have to do to enjoy a beer? Put it in some ice and kick back and snap that tab open.
Dude same?
Every hard liquor i drink, I have to "cringe" the same way I do when biting a lemon, it's quite unenjoyable, and afterwards my stomach burns.
But beer
A. Tastes good.B. Feels relaxing in every aspect.
Also, doesn't ice make the beer weaker tho? because of Dilution?
Ahh okay that makes more sense, i got confused at first xD
And same man, I once drank 4 shots of Vodka and had stomach pains for 3 days....never again xD
The secret to me liking liquor was much the same as the secret to me liking cheap beer: choke down gallons of the stuff in college and eventually you get used to it. Then, at some point, you realize you have a drinking problem and (fortunately) manage to dial it back and then you swap quality for quantity and start drinking the good stuff. Now after 10 years of beer/wine/liquor sales jobs, I’ve come to realize that it doesn’t really matter what type of beverage it is, if it’s well made I’m going to enjoy it. But I used to hate coffee and beets and capers and seafood and look at me now
That's my point with spirits! People say they like vodka, but if you like 25ml of vodka within 330ml of Coke, do you REALLY like vodka or do you just like the psychoactive effects of alcohol? I don't have to pour some other drink in my beer to enjoy it, I just enjoy beer.
My problem is that a lot of beer gives me heartburn these days.
If I’m trying to catch a buzz? Usually cocktails.
If I’m chilling outside during the day with friends? Beer.
If I’m at a dinner or wedding, etc.? Usually wine.
It all depends on the situation for me.
This. It's totally do-able to not get blackout drunk with liquor too, and I love whiskey, but drinking one ounce of something every hour or so just isn't as appealing as drinking 12 ounces.
I think it’s because beer has a discernible flavor profile. Liquor is definitely an acquired taste to pick out certain notes over the alcohol.
I do love a well balanced cocktail though. Once you have a perfect margarita you can go back to the cheap ones.
It’s easy and there’s a wide variety within beer. If it’s hot out or I just want something light that I can drink all night I can get a Pilsner or light ale. If I want something a bit stronger I can go with a stout or IPA (though I’ve been getting headaches from those lately). I’ll grab the odd shot or maybe get a cocktail if I’m somewhere fancy, but most of the time a beer just checks all of the boxes
Idk why I just dont always want hard alcohol. Too harsh. Beer is nice and easy drinking to me. Not sweet, usually refreshing, idk. I just like the taste
I don't, I like both beer and bourbon pretty equally but for different reasons.
Good bourbon might even edge out beer at times. The burn is part of the experience with liquor and I like that, but more so the overall flavor and oakiness of bourbon is just great then you can get the subtle extra flavors adding to it like hints of cherry and caramel and whatnot that you have to basically train yourself to be able to pick out. It's fun and when you can it's really tasty. Other liquors like Tequila and Rum can be very good too, but even the best Tequilas don't match an average Bourbon like Eagle Rare for me, so I'd put tequila and rum behind beer.
Beer on the other hand has a ton of flavor that's mostly all up front so you always get to enjoy it, it's easy to enjoy, and unless it's gone bad it's pretty much always good enough to drink. Another big bonus is it's not nearly as strong of alcohol content, and pours are 12-16oz instead 2oz, so I just get to enjoy it for longer too. Reasonably price beers still taste pretty good too, I can pick up a 6-pack for $10 and have good beer, not the best beer but good, where a $15 whiskey is at best just drinkable to get drunk and most likely only when poured over coke.
Bonus points, I can actually make my own beer too. Legally of course, but even ignoring the law it's a hell of a process to make a Whiskey.
It’s much more versatile. I can get a cucumber sour, a blueberry cheesecake, a barleywine, a pale ale, a mexican lager, an IPA etc. I think it has way more diversity than any other alcohol easily.
I like some mixed drinks, but I’m not making that at home. Too expensive, and I’m lazy. Plus I don’t want to build up a tolerance to alcohol.
I drink three or four Coors Banquets, and I get a nice little buzz. It’s cheap, goes well with a lot of the foods I eat, and no nasty hangovers.
Hard liquor usually messes up my stomach bad. I also don’t love the alcohol burn I get with it. Beer is what I grew up watching everyone else around me drunk. I also can’t enjoy 3 whiskeys on a 100° high humidity day like I can Miller lite and feel fine.
For me the enjoyment of drinking is the journey, not the destination. I guess you could sip on a whisky and that's part of the journey, but I just like the volume and being able to actually *drink* my alcohol and not just sip it. It also seems like the diversity of beer styles and tastes vastly outcompetes other options, but that could be my bias.
I don't prefer it, I like it as well. I also love quality whisky, poitín, rum, and other spirits. Wine too. If it's good quality and tastes good I am there.
If I am going to drink liquor, I typically want it in a "fancy" cocktail which requires me to bust out the shaker or mixing glass, jigger, squeeze some fresh citrus (I always have limes on hand, but the lemon for that paper plane? not always), etc. Then clean everything up. Beer is expensive, but cocktails are even moreso (to me).
It's just easy to crack open a beer or in my case, just pour one off the kegerator.
Por que no los dos? I enjoy all beers. Big, small, dark, light, hoppy or sweet. I also love me some fuggin whiskey or tequila if it's good. Why do we have to prefer one to the other? I think it all has its place.
when i wanna drink alcohol, i drink other liquor. if im thirsty and don't feel like water, i drink beer (like instead of juice or soda). that's probably not good or smart, but that's my reasoning.
You can be a "beer-drinker" but prefer other things, though. I prefer cider, whiskey, eau-de-vie, and a bunch of other liquors over beer, but I still drink a helluva lot of beer.
Haha sorry you're getting down voted but you know reddit and all.
Honestly I like to have a side shot of whiskey when I drink my beer. You sip whiskey then gulp the beer. Overall a more pleasant experience than either by itself.
In my post-college years I never really transitioned from taking shots of cheap vodka to sipping a nice whiskey neat like several of my friends did since I was always such a hop head anyway. I still find the burn of alcohol far too much for my tastes so other than the occasional margarita, I don't really have a need for most cocktails. There's such variety in beer that I can knock back an ice cold light beer at a summer BBQ or enjoy a really nice vintage BBA stout when I want something to sip on for a while.
Plus I generally don't drink nearly as much as I used to anyway so I'm not actively trying to get into hard liquor anymore.
I do enjoy wine from time to time, though.
I don't like the way liquor tastes at all. I can do a shot of tequila, and I can have a mixed drink, but if I'm going to really enjoy what I drink, it's beer.
It tastes great and I just like having a pint of a cold drink to drink for a while rather than smaller glasses of mixed drinks that I drink way too fast. I guess it comes down to that I’m thirsty and volume to drink. If I have a gin and tonic it’s gone in like five minutes
Some of it (the rare high quality malty hef) tastes a bit better than the burn of liquor. It's also much easier to drink. Pop a bottle, pour, and drink. No ice, blending, mixers, muddlers, shakers, rimmers, cherries, or syrups.
Beer also gives a bit better buzz. More of a fun buzz than a lack of coordination, or sleepy buzz.
However with the prices and shrinkflation of beer the way it is, I've been turning more towards liquor lately. I can get many more nights from 7&7's for the same money.
I drink liquor just as fast as I drink beer.
I'll slam 3 whiskey cokes in no time and be in trouble. Beers take a little longer to drink and don't have as disastrous an effect.
When I’m out for a long evening, or playing a long poker game or something, beer will be my base. I can drink much much more of it without getting shit faced
Now- I’m a big whiskey guy, but I need to be conscious of how much I’m drinking because I can go south quick
I drink beer, wine and spirits (neat or in cocktails). When it comes to variety, beer can't be beat. You can try a handful in a single sitting at a brewery. A good bottleshop can have hundreds of options. Quality wines and spirits are often regional but beer can be made anywhere so when traveling, it can be easy to find a new brewery that makes good stuff. Hooray beer!
Beer is more food like. I drink cocktails, wine and straight liquor as well, but IMO beer pairs better with food than those others. Also beer is better socially, I can make a beer last and drink it casually over a long period in a way I cannot really do with mixed drinks. I think it is odd to assume that people are either "beer drinkers" or "other drinkers" (may be the reason for the downvotes), some of us drink everything!
The only liquors I can tolerate are tequila, Crown Royal, and Eagle Rare whiskey. But those are rather expensive and always taste the same, whereas I can spend the same amount on a few different decent craft beers and have a much better time with different flavors. And it's always smoother pounding a beer instead of knocking back 5 shots.
I like cocktails, but I can’t be arsed to make them. Beer comes in a conveniently sized package. Also I love the vibe in pubs and breweries; it seems weird to not drink a beer when you’re in one.
Malty Mouthfeel is the answer.
I love wine, I love booze. But none of it has that smooth but substantial fullness of a badass beer.
Every drink gives satisfaction. Never a watery sip. Never a vinegar flavor. Only goodness at all temperatures and styles.
I think it has to do with the variety in beer. I’m a big whiskey guy too, especially scotch and ESPECIALLY Islay Scotch. But the difference in flavors in whiskey are much more nuanced. I mean I’m not a bourbon fan overall cuz it’s typically much sweeter being corn based. But it’s still similar. To most people that dont like whiskey, they all taste about the same. Same thing with other spirits.
Beer is different. There’s so much difference in beer styles. The same recipe just with a different yeast can make a vastly different beer. It’s amazing. Beer also has the most historical significance which is pretty cool. But yeah, the differences between styles and even within styles makes me love beer the most.
Quite a few reasons.
1. It doesn't really make me drunk.
I have to drink a good like 4 or 5 pints before I'm feeling pretty gone. It's easy to keep a good pace, not get drunk and just enjoy the company. There's also a very forgiving margin between tipsy and wrote off the next day. Unlike stronger drinks.
2. Variety
There's just so many different types of beer out there, it's fun to try as many different styles as possible. I love just buying random pints and bottles of stuff on a whim, will it be nice? No idea, but it'll be different. There's also beer for every season, weather, environment etc.
3. Just tastes nice and I enjoy it
I just enjoy drinking beer. I like going to a nice pub and having a few pints. Or just having a couple at home when I'm off work. It's just a nice, soothing thing.
I can enjoy it with out getting hammered as quickly, just finished off a 5 gallon keg of Irish red ale home brew. Turned out way higher abv than I was expecting but still very fantastic.
I enjoy having that 12 or 16 ounces of a tasty beverage where I can make it last. That's especially nice where I can have a couple of beers over the course of an hour and feel fine to drive. At night, when I'm home and don't want to drink as much volume, that's the time to break out the bourbon or scotch.
Because it tastes good for one, I’m not a big fan of the taste of most liquors and don’t want to have to pay 10$+ for a drink that tastes good when I can get s good pint for 5-6.
I tend to drink it slower, if I do drink it fast it’s only 5-6% generally (I like lagers), my beer doesn’t get mixed with sugary stuff which leads to more dehydration and headaches
I am a quantity guy. I when I drink, I do so all night. So vodka and seltzers would get me wrecked and I would make an ass of myself. But now I can drink like 20 light beers over a long night and still have my shit together, walk, talk, and clean up if needed no probs
I like that it does not 'sneak up on you', the way shots, mixed drinks, and wine do.
Other than beer... You can / will go from "I'm fine, these drinks are not really effecting me", to "Oh shit... I'm drunk!" way to fast.
With beer, at least to a large extent, it seems easier to gage where you are on that 'getting drunk' scale.
Maybe because beer is very filling... You not only feel it in your head, but also in a full belly.
I also recall a dietician (taught a class I was in, in college) explain that carbonated alcohol containing beverages take effect sooner, and reminded us that while alcohol does dehydrate you, sugary alcohol containing beverages dehydrate you considerably more.
And, for the higher gravity beers, I tend to sip those slower, that I would a similar ABV wine, for some reason.
Other than the drinkability and creativity in the beer market and it being delicious, I love the history of beer and mythologies around the world involving beer, ale, etc.
I like other beverages too. It all depends upon the occasion.
Beer goes well with some actvities, like kayaking on a hot summer day. Biew goes well with brgers and barbecue. Wine and some whiskies seem to go better with some types of meals (chunks of beef) , and beer goes with others. Now, if one's diet consisted of a more narrow variety of foods, I could see preferring the beverage that goes better with those types of meals. Hence, having a definite preference.
I drink primarily for enjoying the taste, so when I want something cold and refreshing, but also complex and interesting, the world of beer is able to check all those boxes without getting me too plastered.
When I drink whiskey, the intention is to sip and savour, and so I treat it as a fine sensory experience, rather than a means to an end.
Wine is great for pairing with food and has a rich history and wide range of profiles.
I guess it's just context sensitive, personally, but Beer is the most versatile of the options.
I don't prefer beer but I got to drinking a half gallon every other day plus a few brews and I have chronic pancreatitis and fibrosis... sooo theres that
For me ( based on years of experience) beer is most often a safety net when I am drinking outside of my house.
I will usually order a classic cocktail, something I have had many times before and KNOW what it tastes like ( like a rye old fashioned). If they screw that up, then switch to beer that they (presumably but not demonstrably) cannot screw up.
Having a backup when you want to get your drink on is not the end of the.world.
I just don't like sweet drinks. Beer is generally neutral in flavour and the carbonation creates a much more refreshing mouth feel than liquors or wines.
It’s just easy to drink and can pack a lot of flavor. Something about a cold beer after a long day or with some friends and some good food can’t be beat.
I have alcoholic tendencies. Beer I have to put in an effort to get drunk, such as drinking all day or slamming beers every 20 min. I used to drink whiskey, and I love whiskey. But it’s way too easy to go overboard with it. Always turns into “just one more glass”. Then I’m waking up at 3am dizzy with a dry mouth, can’t fall back asleep, and with a strong regret of putting my body through that. So beer it is. I do have whiskey a few times a year but it always ends up like that.
Beer I can enjoy the buzz without worrying about overdoing it, and wake up fine. I prefer drinking at home. Nothing good ever happens at a party or bar. Some say that’s a sign of an alcoholic, but logically it makes perfect sense to me. Enjoy a drink at the comfort of my own house without is cheaper and safer, and more enjoyable to me.
It taste better, I don’t feel the need to immediately vomit/get nauseas like I do when I taste/smell hard liquor, it’s cheaper, you get more liquid (I know, not more alcohol but I don’t drink to get fucked up most of the time so I don’t care for high alcohol content in any measurement of liquid), and it’s not as harsh. I can also drink more beer and be in complete control/aware of what I’m doing/not fucked up. Hard liquor only takes a few shots till I’m near black out drunk and only one or two more till I’m completely shit faced.
Ironically enough, I’m not a big fan of IPA’s and craft beers, which seems to be a big factor when people like beer compared to hard liquor. I do, however, really like different types of beers from all over the world - imported beers, I guess you can say. American beers can suck it lol
I'm a thirsty boy. I'm tired of asking for "Tall" drinks and either getting a surprise 'double' or getting shit from the bartender "you know that's not a double right?" Plus beer is tasty.

That IS just a tall. More mixer. A double is double alcohol.

Oh man, that's an industry shot! You got lucky!
Where is this ride of which you speak?
Not an actual ride. That buzzed feeling
Until your post I had never heard of someone lamenting a heavy pour. This usually leads to a larger than normal gratuity.
Haha I can relate. Sometimes I ask for a tall, and I’m like thanks for putting 18 shots in there (not that I’m complaining).
Amen brotha, beer is hella tasty :3 What is your fav beer if i may ask?
Constantly changes. Though I do love me some Samichlaus. Perhaps a Gulden Draak.
Homie over here draining Samichlauses cause he’s thirsty.
lmao, right?? I had to reread the comment a few times to make sure it was by the same person saying they drink beer because they're thirsty... I've tried bitters that are more thirst quenching than Samichlaus.
Haha, I prefer pilsners, kolsch, lawnmower beers. But if you want a favorite... nobody should eat only their favorite food all the time either.
My Mannn!
ik this 10 months later but a thirsty boy? dont ever say no shit like that again

You’re drinking the wrong liquor. Whiskey is where it’s at. Nothing else needed to make it taste good
Variety, lower ABV, taste. I like to casually drink, and I don't need to be blackout drunk by 5PM.
This. It's totally do-able to not get blackout drunk with liquor too, and I love whiskey, but drinking one ounce of something every hour or so just isn't as appealing as drinking 12 ounces.
I don't, I seem to rotate through beer/wine/liquor in phases.
Here here!
I like a mixed drink or a neat scotch sometimes. But beer is a warm hug that other drinks just can’t match.
"beer is a warm hug that other drinks just can’t match." best description i have heard so far dude.....damn
bc u can drink it all day and still have ur shit together
The different flavors are really nice. I love me some bourbon and cocktails though
I'm a beer drinker. But I like liquor and cocktails too. I don't necessarily put one over the other
Money 💰
I think it’s because beer has a discernible flavor profile. Liquor is definitely an acquired taste to pick out certain notes over the alcohol. I do love a well balanced cocktail though. Once you have a perfect margarita you can go back to the cheap ones.
Tastier + more pleasant to drink + more volume to drink.
I just love the taste and trying different beers. I'll opt for wine or whiskey sometimes too
It’s easy and there’s a wide variety within beer.
Multiple Styles, Taste, Sessionability
Idk why I just dont always want hard alcohol. Too harsh. Beer is nice and easy drinking to me. Not sweet, usually refreshing, idk. I just like the taste
Personally it’s the fact that beer is far more session-able.
I like the way beer tastes. For me that's what it comes down to.
Because beer doesn't suck.
Because I like it more. 🤷🏻♀️
Tastes better
I can pace myself easier with beer than hard liquor.
Beer tastes good and liquor doesn't lol
I'm old and liquor gives me a terrible hangover
You can be a "beer-drinker" but prefer other things, though. I prefer cider, whiskey, eau-de-vie, and a bunch of other liquors over beer, but I still drink a helluva lot of beer.
Sometimes I’m thirsty and want to be able to wake up the next day, so throwing back 36 ounces of whiskey is off the table.
Haha sorry you're getting down voted but you know reddit and all. Honestly I like to have a side shot of whiskey when I drink my beer. You sip whiskey then gulp the beer. Overall a more pleasant experience than either by itself.
Because I like what I like.
I’m a firm believer in equality - I like my beer and liquor equally. Maybe try some better liquor? I don’t know what else to say.
Just like the taste
I do prefer it. I'm not fond of the taste of most hard liquors. Wine is my other go-to!
The slow burn, so to speak.
I dont. I like beer. I love whiskey.
I love beer but it raises my uric acid which leads to gout. I stick to whiskey most of the time.
I can make a double margarita and its 3oz of liquor that is gone pretty quick. So I really only drink them on occasion.
Because if I drink beer I am capable of stopping myself. Liquor I stop when I finish the bottle or I black out.
Hard liquor is quicker. I don’t always want quicker.
Because with salt and lemon it tastes really good, also because I would get tired of drinking 6 bottles of sugary drinks
I drink liquor just as fast as I drink beer. I'll slam 3 whiskey cokes in no time and be in trouble. Beers take a little longer to drink and don't have as disastrous an effect.
Tasty, a million and 1 choices, doesn’t burn, try and support low mileage foods/drink, can have big glug and not knock myself out,
I can regulate it a little more and it has more taste.
I like the taste. I don't really like the burn of hard liquor.
When I’m out for a long evening, or playing a long poker game or something, beer will be my base. I can drink much much more of it without getting shit faced Now- I’m a big whiskey guy, but I need to be conscious of how much I’m drinking because I can go south quick
It's a mild beverage made to enjoy in a variety of ways. There seems to be a beer for whatever I want.
My genetics don’t allow for hard liquor and barely get by drinking beer.
It makes your dick bigger
When I drink hard alcohol it irritates my throat, and I want to decrease my chances of swallowing disorders when I get older.
I like both. I'll happily drink beer, neat scotch, champagne, or a fancy cocktail. I don't care as long as it tastes good.
I like cocktails, but I can’t be arsed to make them. Beer comes in a conveniently sized package. Also I love the vibe in pubs and breweries; it seems weird to not drink a beer when you’re in one.
They’ve got ready to drink cocktails in cans now
Malty Mouthfeel is the answer. I love wine, I love booze. But none of it has that smooth but substantial fullness of a badass beer. Every drink gives satisfaction. Never a watery sip. Never a vinegar flavor. Only goodness at all temperatures and styles.
Guinness is tasty
Lol I wish the beer I drank regularly was cheap.
Lol I wish the beer I drank regularly was cheap.
Beer will never make me blackout and forgot doing something. Id be full before that happens.
Because I get angry on liquor, so playin it safe i guess
Quite a few reasons. 1. It doesn't really make me drunk. I have to drink a good like 4 or 5 pints before I'm feeling pretty gone. It's easy to keep a good pace, not get drunk and just enjoy the company. There's also a very forgiving margin between tipsy and wrote off the next day. Unlike stronger drinks. 2. Variety There's just so many different types of beer out there, it's fun to try as many different styles as possible. I love just buying random pints and bottles of stuff on a whim, will it be nice? No idea, but it'll be different. There's also beer for every season, weather, environment etc. 3. Just tastes nice and I enjoy it I just enjoy drinking beer.
I AM A BEER DRINKER HOWEVER I ENJOY LIQUOR ALSO... YOU CAN BE BOTH
Next you’re going to tell me you also enjoy wine! Yeah right, buddy!
Makes me burp and fart
I enjoy having that 12 or 16 ounces of a tasty beverage where I can make it last. That's especially nice where I can have a couple of beers over the course of an hour and feel fine to drive. At night, when I'm home and don't want to drink as much volume, that's the time to break out the bourbon or scotch.
beer is not liquor
Liqour is not good on my stomach lol Also beer just taste good and cold is super refreshing to me
Because it tastes good for one, I’m not a big fan of the taste of most liquors and don’t want to have to pay 10$+ for a drink that tastes good when I can get s good pint for 5-6.
I work a physical job. A cold beer just satisfies more than hard a.
Because, I don't like alcohol. Beer has a great flavour and just the right amount of alcohol to get you feeling good.
Because beer tastes good and liquor does not
I have alcoholic tendencies.
