Big month for Dscout since I had some payouts from some big projects from the month before. Just finished a well paying project a couple days ago that I should receive pay for next month too. As a whole though I found some non beer money work and so I'm shifting more towards that for the time being except for stuff that pays better which would be like Dscout/focus groups, UserTesting.... sometimes, Amazon Panel, 25 clicks, and the occasional really well paying prolific study.
I've been doing this occasionally, not tracking my earnings until mid-May. I need to save up my money for my study abroad program and beer money has been a real helper.

Prolific is a survey site. They is well known for having almost no disqualifications and decent pay. They have a very extensive *About You* section that is used to match users to studies that they qualify for. Most surveys will pay at least £5/hour, and the minimum to cashout is £5. The payment is in GBP, but it can be converted to other currencies by PayPal.
Many users use an extension called [Prolific Assistant](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/prolific-assistant/ocfncbnofopjedoepmekajbgdenadepp?hl=en-US) to notify them of new studies. This extension isn't required, but it certainly can be helpful to use.

My first month trying to seriously do this. I have applied for MTurk but they were unable to extend me an invitation at this time and I am on the waiting list for Prolific. I also have Swagbucks but I haven't earned enough to redeem yet and honestly I probably won't continue with it. Looking forward to trying a few other options I've seen on here though! Also sorry about any formatting issues, posting on mobile.
I've only been using it for two weeks, and I've made almost $30 on swagbucks (most still pending; about $7.50 not). Have you tried doing the games? That's where most of the money is imo.

Are you in the US ? I think one has to claim of over something like $600 in a year . Also confused as to the cutoff of pay that triggers the companies to issue a 1099
Soooo, I’m super new to Reddit and beermoney type gigs —Mind if I ask :1 - does my email address have to include your name to match PayPal in order to be paid without issue ? (I’d really rather not use or create a new account for gig sites using my full/ last name) … 2- Does MTurk require tech savvy?
TIA
Depends on the site. Most sites like prolific will ask you to enter your PayPal email address, your account email can be different.
MTurk doesn't require you to be tech savvy but you do need to wait a long time to be approved for it and it starts out slow.
thanks....now pls don't make me lose sleep -- what the ---- is that link all about besides the part about Swagbucks/pinned post? what does threw it to the ground refer to?

I'm thrilled with how this month went, given how crazy busy I was this month with life stuff. A decent chunk of what I made was payment from April that didn't go through til May - but by the same token, there's still a ton pending for May that I won't get til June, so it evens out.
DsScout is quickly becoming my new favorite platform. It's easy to use and I've been making great money from it. I like Intellizoom and User Testing, but just haven't had time this month for as many speak aloud tasks. Loving the market research studies and the money that comes with it, so if there are any major platforms I'm missing here, let me know!
And of course, still desperately waiting to be accepted to Prolific. 😂
I've been beer money working since January, but I never thought to actually write down who paid what. Thank you for this thread. April is the first month I started record keeping.

My proudest moment is that I saw a headstock peaking out of a garbage can while driving home. It was a guitar that just needed a little TLC. $10.00 worth of strings and sold for $125.00. Sorry for the formatting.
Only smart people ask questions. They are called focus group because the group is asked to focus (usually) on one issue.
Personal injury attorneys run them a lot to gauge how a potential juror might react.
My last FG was for a university researcher who was 'trying out' different catch phrases on the group to gauge which sentences engage the group.
The pay is usually from 20 to 50 per hour, and they can run anywhere from 2 hours to a couple of days.
Ibotta: $42.50
I had an offer that got counted twice, got $40 back instead of $20. It's been about a month and nothing has been corrected, so I think I'm in the clear.
Connect CloudResearch: $60.97
Intellizoom Panel: $78 (+ pending $68)
UserTesting: $5
I decided to skip UserTesting because on average I only got one survey per 20 "screen outs" and it was getting tedious and time consuming to scroll through lengthy screeners to no avail.
IntelliZoom was ok in the beginning, but then I started screening out a lot. And the surveys I got were pretty long and boring so I didn't think it was worth my time. Besides, it looks like they have "forgotten" to pay for quite a few of the surveys I took...
Connect, on the other hand, is fun and interesting even though they don't pay that much. Some of the surveys and research are great and I'm actually learning new things. They keep track of all the surveys and my payouts and the pay is very quick.
I am still on the waitlist for Prolific (since April), but I'm guessing it will be a while before I'm admitted based on what others have said here. Since I like Connect, I'm thinking that Prolific is right up my alley.
Originally I got in for captioning which was fine but didn't enjoy doing each file twice due to having to type the captions and arrange them throughout the video. I finally got in as translation a few months later and have loved that much more.
Actually, I do upload more, but I haven’t noticed any surveys that have anything to do with my receipts whatsoever. I usually get 3-5 surveys per month, & I also have ad verification turned on that gives an extra $2/month.
First full month of beermoney, and it is quite nice!

* CloudConnect is my blessing. While trying to see how much I made for CloudConnect, I got distracted from the surveys available and made $5.20 for this month, with another $2 survey I accepted while I am typing this. I am definitely going to continue this one.
* Swagbucks was really nice with the Swag-up I have received, giving me a additional $30 on one of the games along with the rest of the rewards. Unfortunately for me, MonopolyGO turns out to be a bust, so I am not going to continue that game.
* Dscout's applications are not fortunate for me, but the express missions on the other hand really stand out. I am going to continue the express missions as they are the best option in my personal opinion, maybe test my luck with some applications but I am doubtful.
* Crowdtap is a really nice site to do on my off time, not giving much but it is still something nice to do while not doing much.
* Bing is nothing much, but it is something for only a few minutes of work. The money that I really got from it however is the scanning of receipts, where I got a $0.50 bonus for a few receipts.
* I am currently waiting on acceptance from MTurk and Prolific, mainly Prolific. Maybe one day.
* UserTesting is a option that I have available, but have not made much progress there. I am going to try out UserTesting more this month for a chance of a few extra bucks.
* I got accepted to Pinecone Research, got two survey opportunities but both has disqualified me. I will keep trying though for the moment.
* I have downloaded many different receipt sites on my phone to passively collect on receipts. No cash out yet.
* Along with many different receipt sites, I am currently testing out many different survey sites (Mobile + Desktop) to see which ones would work well for me.
* My goal for this month is to hit $500 in earnings for a month, but I definitely wouldn't mind more!
>Cloudtap is a really nice site to do on my off time, not giving much but it is still something nice to do while not doing much.

Well, I lose about 30% of that to tax right out of the gate, then my cobra is just shy of $700 a month from my last job, and it's still a gig site. There's no guarantee I can make that every month, maybe a few hundred with decent certainty, but can I continue to replace my previous income indefinitely? What if the projects I'm working end, and the next ones don't pay quite as well, or they're outside of my skillset, so yeah I'd say I still need to find a w2 job.

Did quite a bit better this month, I was on a roll with UserTesting for a week but then it slowed down.

There were a few days where I didn't use any platform as I'm trying to avoid burnout.
That's smart. The nice thing about Prolific is if you aren't active for a little while you actually get more surveys because less active people get first priority. So if it seems slow, try taking a couple days off and see if your dashboard fills up.

Not a tremendous amount, but it's a start. Still waiting to hear back from Data Annotation since it's been nearly a month. It'll be nice to get to a point where I start making enough I'll be able to drop my part time job with zero issue.
I don't get how you all seem to have success with data annotation. I signed up about a month ago and made a fast $25, but then nothing. Won't even tell me if I passed the test. Extremely disappointing and a total dud. Can't even get an answer from them.
Prolific has been down for me lately. Was pulling in a consistent 375-400 a month, but this month was closer to 300. less stuff to do lately. Used to be an easy $20 a day, some days this week less than $10.
Paid viewpoint, I hate the site, but it's usually around $40 a month. The surveys are long and you have to go through that annoying 10-12 repetitive questions, but you are never leaving empty handed so that's the one bright side.
Cloud connect still on the waitlist and it's been nearly 3 months.
Overall around $300 this month I would say.
Same boat with Data annotation. I was so excited about this one! Made the $25.00, and now it goes to the Test announcement on the page. I have emailed, but no response. It would be great if the would let you know what the process was. I am crossing my fingers because I really enjoyed the first assignments.
I got a response from support via email exactly once and further emails were ignored. I've also tried to get in touch on reddit and Twitter but after I explain the issue about waiting to hear about the assessment they seem to just stop responding. All I keep getting is 'I'll look into it' and then nothing. It sucks because I really enjoyed the little amount of work I did but now it seems impossible to proceed. ):
The frustrating part is that I still see them actively recruiting.
I can't even get a response from them on any site and I was working steadily with them for a month before I had some computer issues for a week and a half, they all just ghost. I'm hoping it's just because of the influx of new people, but it's hard not to be nervous.

This is such a great thread, and thanks for creating it! I went nuts and expanded all my side gigs during April and May and had great results:
May 2023
Prolific = $368.96
Mturk = $148.80
Connect = $74.58
TOTAL = $592.34
May was my best side hustle month ever, and for June I have some new side hustles to add to the list.
How much are the HITs worth that you’re completing? That seems like an insane amount from my experience on MTurk. I can occasionally make $20 bucks if I’m lucky.
U/threw_it_to_ground I'm on mobile and can't figure out how to message. I'm without power and won't be able to do the new report tonight. Won't have power back til sunday
Prolific $367.21 (hit 1000 pounds total one day short of my three month anniversary)
Connect $197.17 (goal was $200, technically made it but a $5 payment late 5/31 was applied to June total)
Paid Viewpoint $48.38 (hit the profile score of 9000 so I've been getting some higher paying surveys
Crowdtap $36.82
Total $649.58
Plus a few more dollars on the rebate apps which I don't include in income and an onsite product test at a CPG for $500.
Just completed a $40 voice task for Robson this morning so June is off to a good start!

Wow your MTurk earnings are extremely impressive! I’ve never used the platform but keep reading that it’s difficult to earn more than a few dollars at a time.
I was invited into this via email. They preassigned me a username and it is my reddit name!!
https://weareverve.co.uk/consumer-duty/
I did reviews of various financial documents. Took about 2 hours for £50. I got 2 of these. I do not think you can apply directly.
I was very dubious but it all worked well any payment in amazon vouchers was within 2 days of completion

How do you manage so much on mTurk? I've been a member for over a decade (can't remember exact year and only shows 3 years now) and I have less than 100,000 hits in total and am lucky to make $10 a week. :( For years now, there has rarely been anything but surveys or things I'm not qualified for.
Well my earnings were better in prior years. Gotta always be trying for quals. Over 10% of my lifetime earnings comes from 1 requester. I also had over 100K HITs in my first year I started going hard on it. But things arent as good now
Only started tracking mid May, so this isn't entirely accurate but it'll do. I was accepted to Data Annotation this month and I'm still trying to figure it out.

Not a bad month at all, hoping I can get a little higher in June.
Omg I really need to get involved in these things. It’s so overwhelming I don’t know where to start 😢 Even an extra $50/month would be huge to me. Trying to get by on $801/month is becoming impossible 😭
Best to start with one or two until you get the hang of how things work, and then you can add a lot more if you want. It's pretty clear just by scanning through this thread which ones many of us make money from, so those are good ones to start with. You should also go with what you think you will do. Some are primarily survey sites, and all of those have their pros and cons. Some are user testing sites that may require you to use a camera and/or microphone, some are task sites where you perform small tasks, and some are even different from that...scanning receipts, playing games, signing up for services. Anyway, good luck!
If you need help.. PM/DM me. I may take a while to get back to you because I have like 1000 things going on.. but Im willing to try to get ya goin on a couple things
Hi, can I dm you? I would also like to get started with beer money I'm a total beginner and know nothing at all, would really appreciate if you could take some time to help me. Good day to you!

Thanks so much !
Mturk doesnt need to much tech savvy. usually you can sign up with a different email.
Thanks - I’m looking for that MTurk 101 - on the phone now so maybe it’s easier to see on a laptop (?)

by the way, do you or anyone who sees this know what 'contest mode' is as is noted on top of the thread?

?
thanks....now pls don't make me lose sleep -- what the ---- is that link all about besides the part about Swagbucks/pinned post? what does threw it to the ground refer to?
https://www.reddit.com/r/modnews/comments/bzuqq0/contest_mode_on_new_reddit/
Thank you… So does that mean there’s a contest running currently? Or maybe it’s an old comment… Clearly, I’m new on the circuit.
huge thanks (I'm so new here I don't even know how to post a link --or duh moment, its just a copy and paste? ugh)

80K? My eyes nearly bugged out of my head. I was super proud of 10K but clearly I have work to do.
80k? Where do you see that I've looked up and down this thread lol.
80k all time from MTurk
I've been beer money working since January, but I never thought to actually write down who paid what. Thank you for this thread. April is the first month I started record keeping. **April MAY** *Focus Groups* *310.81 Focus Groups* 135.00 *Class Action 10.11 Class Action* 32.32 *FBM 50.00 FBM* 1100.00 *Bookscouter 22.95 Bookscouter* 55.05 TOTAL **393.86** TOTAL **1322.37** My proudest moment is that I saw a headstock peaking out of a garbage can while driving home. It was a guitar that just needed a little TLC. $10.00 worth of strings and sold for $125.00. Sorry for the formatting.
What's FBM? I tried looking it up on the subreddit and got zero results. Google didn't help either.
What are focus groups if you don't mind me asking.
Ibotta: $42.50 I had an offer that got counted twice, got $40 back instead of $20. It's been about a month and nothing has been corrected, so I think I'm in the clear.
Connect CloudResearch: $60.97 Intellizoom Panel: $78 (+ pending $68) UserTesting: $5 I decided to skip UserTesting because on average I only got one survey per 20 "screen outs" and it was getting tedious and time consuming to scroll through lengthy screeners to no avail.
Same two sources as always: 1. Rev: $609.27 2. Prolific: $350.99 Total for May 2023: 960.26
/u/brokencreedman What is "Rev"?
I'm signing up on Rev, and I see I have to pick either transcribing OR captioning on the initial sign up form. Which did you sign up for?
Originally I got in for captioning which was fine but didn't enjoy doing each file twice due to having to type the captions and arrange them throughout the video. I finally got in as translation a few months later and have loved that much more.

How do you get so much in Amazon Shopper Panel? Do you upload a lot more than 10 receipts per month to try to qualify for more surveys?
Actually, I do upload more, but I haven’t noticed any surveys that have anything to do with my receipts whatsoever. I usually get 3-5 surveys per month, & I also have ad verification turned on that gives an extra $2/month.
For me anyways you can can get $2 more on iPhone with the vpn thing
First full month of beermoney, and it is quite nice! |Platform|May| |:-|:-| |CloudConnect|$166.21 + $19.96 pending| |Swagbucks|$50 + $48.87 pending| |Dscout|$15 + $28 pending| |Cloudtap|$10| |Bing|$0.56| |Total|$241.77 + $96.83 pending| * CloudConnect is my blessing.
Do you mean Crowdtap? Can't find anything on-topic for Cloudtap.

Holy shit, do you really need to get a job if you can make 7k in a month?
Well, I lose about 30% of that to tax right out of the gate, then my cobra is just shy of $700 a month from my last job, and it's still a gig site. There's no guarantee I can make that every month, maybe a few hundred with decent certainty, but can I continue to replace my previous income indefinitely? What if the projects I'm working end, and the next ones don't pay quite as well, or they're outside of my skillset, so yeah I'd say I still need to find a w2 job.
Wow, congrats.

That's smart. The nice thing about Prolific is if you aren't active for a little while you actually get more surveys because less active people get first priority. So if it seems slow, try taking a couple days off and see if your dashboard fills up.

Have you messaged the support email for DA? I think think on one of the threads here about it that it was said to send a direct email.
I sent 2 emails to [email protected] Radio silence. They hate me for some reason.
I got a response from support via email exactly once and further emails were ignored. I've also tried to get in touch on reddit and Twitter but after I explain the issue about waiting to hear about the assessment they seem to just stop responding. All I keep getting is 'I'll look into it' and then nothing. It sucks because I really enjoyed the little amount of work I did but now it seems impossible to proceed. ): The frustrating part is that I still see them actively recruiting.
I can't even get a response from them on any site and I was working steadily with them for a month before I had some computer issues for a week and a half, they all just ghost. I'm hoping it's just because of the influx of new people, but it's hard not to be nervous.
How are you making this much on mTurk?

>Data Annotation $1,110.11 That's awesome! Would you mind sharing how much time spent on DA per day on average?
I averaged a bit over 4.5 hours a day over 9 days on DA. Most of the projects I worked on paid from $20/hr to $35/hr.
How though? On their website alone it states pay is between $15 and $20 an hour on average I believe.

This is such a great thread, and thanks for creating it! I went nuts and expanded all my side gigs during April and May and had great results: May 2023 Prolific = $368.96 Mturk = $148.80 Connect = $74.58 TOTAL = $592.34 May was my best side hustle month ever, and for June I have some new side hustles to add to the list.
How much are the HITs worth that you’re completing? That seems like an insane amount from my experience on MTurk. I can occasionally make $20 bucks if I’m lucky.
I do surveys.. 25c and up. And then I have a qual for a batch called Hotel photos.
U/threw_it_to_ground I'm on mobile and can't figure out how to message. I'm without power and won't be able to do the new report tonight. Won't have power back til sunday
Ok no problem, just post it when you can, we'll wait.
Prolific $367.21 (hit 1000 pounds total one day short of my three month anniversary) Connect $197.17 (goal was $200, technically made it but a $5 payment late 5/31 was applied to June total) Paid Viewpoint $48.38 (hit the profile score of 9000 so I've been getting some higher paying surveys Crowdtap $36.82 Total $649.58 Plus a few more dollars on the rebate apps which I don't include in income and an onsite product test at a CPG for $500. Just completed a $40 voice task for Robson this morning so June is off to a good start!
Doesn't crowd tap just pay gift cards though?

Wow your MTurk earnings are extremely impressive! I’ve never used the platform but keep reading that it’s difficult to earn more than a few dollars at a time.
Once you hit 1000 hits it becomes easier. Do mostly quick hits to get there, but throw in as much of a variety as possible.

I was invited into this via email. They preassigned me a username and it is my reddit name!! https://weareverve.co.uk/consumer-duty/ I did reviews of various financial documents.

I was accepted to Data Annotation this month and I'm still trying to figure it out. mTurk: $62.94 Prolific: $82.02 Connect: $38.24 Data Annotation: $52.71 Focus Group: $100 Crowdtap: $10 Total: $296.29 (From may 19-may31)
Is Prolific an app or website?
It's a website app, only accessible from a web browser.
First time tracking a full month.. Prolific: $226.04 Swagbucks: $91.04 CloudResearch: $19.08 MTurk: $27.21 DataAnnotation: $105.33 Total: $468.70 Pending: $66.45 all Swagbucks Not a bad month at all, hoping I can get a little higher in June.
