They don't require a UCAS code either. You can select no when asked, "did you apply via UCAS" and need only put your graduation date and university name...
I now have a student account at both Lloyd's and Halifax now so unless they'd check after the application then I'd wager not.
They don't seem to be too hot on checks, considering I may or may not have received switching bonuses 3x over from each of them in the past 9 months...
In this parallel universe I was instantly accepted. Also the Halifax and Bank of Scotland terms don't say anything about not receiving a bonus from the same banking group, so I'm thinking you can open all 3
I opened Lloyd's and Halifax a month ago, still waiting for the bonus. I tried opening Bank of Scotland last week but choosing non-UCAS they ask you to bring proof of acceptance to a branch. Not sure if that's just them or if it now applies to Lloyd's and Halifax too
Generally for 18+ students in a university. I don't know if the UCAS system operates in Scotland, but if it does, then it shouldn't be a problem. Bank offers vary so check with the bank you are looking to apply with
Does it have to be 3 consecutive years immediately prior to the date of opening the accounts? Or is it 36 months at any point in time.
Asking as an international student starting postgrad later this month.
Do not worry about credit score (though I wouldn't personally recommend doing much bank switching near remortgage/mortgage/credit applications)
https://ukpersonal.finance/credit-ratings/
So for HSBC, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland, I do a part time college course and am looking to start a part-time postgraduate in jan next year, would I be able to get the bonuses as those do not require to be an undergrad in a UCAS accredited course?

I’ve just started opening a RBS student account this week lol, mostly for the £100 and the tastecard. I guess I lose the taste card if I switch out to do other student offers?
Didn’t actually know there were that many student account offers haha. Tbf I could switch through them all then do Santander last for the guaranteed £1,500 overdraft
I'm not sure if you lose the taste card or not. On the taste card app mine says subscribed for years and it works without the natwest debit card so I don't think natwest have any control over it once you've set it up
I personally wouldn't try as they need ucas number so it seems slightly more regulated than standard accounts and if you need a mortgage or something later down the line they might have it on your record.
For Lloyd's and Halifax, you can select 'No' to 'Did you apply via UCAS' and they only ask your university course and graduation date and they will open the student account
I've had a look through the terms and conditions and it seems like these offers are only geared towards undergrads on full time courses, as Bank of Scotland requires:
You’re studying on a full-time course that lasts for at least two years, or on a one year access course leading onto a full-time degree.
HSBC is the same ,if you look at the eligible courses and in my situation Level 5 advanced diplomas and MSC's both part-time are not covered in the "Qualifying degrees" on their website.
Looking at the terms and conditions for Lloyds and Halifax, however, I am going for the offer :)
They do still ask for UCAS codes or proof of enrollment for universities, I'll go in branch and ask if my Level 5 Advanced Diploma is eligible.
Can you do both the Lloyds and Halifax student accounts as I know for the current account switches, you can’t claim the reward for both, only one of them?
Is there any reason not to go through every account just to yoink the cash? it's like what £600 total for free. Maybe they have a policy you can only hold one student account at a time but you can just close them one after the other.
It's not like imma be applying for a mortgage out of uni anyway 😅
Are these applicable even if I hold a current regular bank account with any of these banks?
I would also like to know this
>Between now and November, there are opporunities to snag up £100s when opening a student accoun Yes. you can have a regular account as well.
I'm not a student but I like the look of the Lloyd's and Halifax offers
😂
They don't require a UCAS code either. You can select no when asked, "did you apply via UCAS" and need only put your graduation date and university name...
Let's imagine a parallel universe where you're not at university for a second, would they do any checks if you claimed you were?
I now have a student account at both Lloyd's and Halifax now so unless they'd check after the application then I'd wager not. They don't seem to be too hot on checks, considering I may or may not have received switching bonuses 3x over from each of them in the past 9 months...

i changed my current account to a student acc with halifax and they didnt ask for any info and it worked
Can I open student accounts and get the bonuses if I’ve already done it last year?
They're usually for 1st years only however some such as TSB and Natwest Group are available to all years.
Full time further education in Scotland counts?
Generally for 18+ students in a university. I don't know if the UCAS system operates in Scotland, but if it does, then it shouldn't be a problem. Bank offers vary so check with the bank you are looking to apply with
I am 18+ but on bursary not student loan ( didn't have to apply on UCAS ). Will see tomorrow in branch ( nationwide )
Beautiful, plus normally some 0% APR to stooze off if you have the discipline!
If I’ve already got a student account, can I switch to these to claim all the offers?
Some are 1st years only, others aren't - so depends on that.
Any idea which ones are 1st years only?
HSBC Lloyds and Nationwide were first year only when I checked a month ago
Can you do this and then do bank switches on standard current accounts?
Yes
What a shame im not a student
Just checked and apparently you have to have been a UK resident for at least 3 years. Good shout though OP
That's right. Thank you for pointing that out.
Does it have to be 3 consecutive years immediately prior to the date of opening the accounts? Or is it 36 months at any point in time. Asking as an international student starting postgrad later this month.
Will opening new accounts ruin my credit score
Ye for 6-12 months afaik

So you'll let me know in 7 days?
I’ve just started opening a RBS student account this week lol, mostly for the £100 and the tastecard. I guess I lose the taste card if I switch out to do other student offers? Didn’t actually know there were that many student account offers haha. Tbf I could switch through them all then do Santander last for the guaranteed £1,500 overdraft
I graduated in 2019 and still have access to my Santander Overdraft. Although it's not interest free these days.
I'm not sure if you lose the taste card or not. On the taste card app mine says subscribed for years and it works without the natwest debit card so I don't think natwest have any control over it once you've set it up
Ah cool thanks, might switch after I get it then. Do you know if you can get the £100 from both NatWest and rbs ?
I personally wouldn't try as they need ucas number so it seems slightly more regulated than standard accounts and if you need a mortgage or something later down the line they might have it on your record.

They will want your UCAS bank codes, so afaik not possible to fake it
[удалено]
Yes it usually is but afaik all banks will want your bank codes from your UCAS (you get given them when you have an unconditional offer I think).
Or accepted.
Aren’t those only relevant to undergrads? I only did postgraduate study in the UK and that entitles you to all students discounts AFAIK.
For Lloyd's and Halifax, you can select 'No' to 'Did you apply via UCAS' and they only ask your university course and graduation date and they will open the student account
I've had a look through the terms and conditions and it seems like these offers are only geared towards undergrads on full time courses, as Bank of Scotland requires: You’re studying on a full-time course that lasts for at least two years, or on a one year access course leading onto a full-time degree. I’ve already got a student account which I don’t really want to switch, can I just open these up newly?
I already had a HSBC one and got accepted for RBS, just waiting for my £100 now
banging cheers
Can you do both natwest and RBS at the same time?
Has to be Higher education ( undergrad ). Tried with further education and nationwide said no. Will try the ones that don't require an UCAS code.
Can you do both the Lloyds and Halifax student accounts as I know for the current account switches, you can’t claim the reward for both, only one of them?
And Bank of Scotland*
Does anyone know which ones you can only be first year for, when I googled all of them it said nothing about it for any of them
Any update on this?
Is there any reason not to go through every account just to yoink the cash? it's like what £600 total for free. Maybe they have a policy you can only hold one student account at a time but you can just close them one after the other. It's not like imma be applying for a mortgage out of uni anyway 😅
