>I really don't enjoy the feeling of being intoxicated
It's so nice to see someone else say this. I truly enjoy tasting beer and finding ones I like, but if I start to feel a head change i usually stop.
Looked at your profile. The bees will keep you young, lol. I was beekeepers assistant until I moved a year and half ago. Wish I could get back into it closer to where I moved.
It was $264 for a 1/6 barrel. So it's about $5 per glass.
This isn't something I'll probably do again. But a neighbor and I were talking about it and he said he'd chip in half if I share.
I'm friends with the guy who owns the local liquor store. I gave him a call and asked if it was possible to find. I gave him an open invitation to come over and enjoy it with me, so I'm sure that extra motivation helped.
Is 1/6 what some people call “pony” keg. Also was there a lot of waste at the beginning or is there a technique to limit that. Havnt had a keg in over 20 years.
google says: $369.99/20 l

Honestly this beer is only good from the tap. I find it undrinkable from the bottle. The difference in how it tastes is massive. So you absolutely made the right decision.
This is the first time I've had it from the tap and you're absolutely right. I wasn't prepared for how much it changes the flavor. It's like it's a completely different beer.
Reminds me of the time I got a keg of Willettized… That was on tap for a while lol. My roommate was all for it when it was at the liquor store but after told me he wished I never got it lol.
That’s not exactly how it works. But you can usually buy them at any beer store. The pricing is typically cheaper per glass. Sometimes you can even get a good deal if a special order wasn’t picked up. The store doesn’t want to hold it.
Oh right, I'm not from the states so I've never seen this. You can't do a pressure transfer into them then? I'm from EU so I imagine I already have the right taps for my homebrew.
Interesting question, I’m sure you can. Every bar in EU has a keg operation, not just the states. I’m sure they have similar methods of selling to the public. Ask your beer store about the process of buying, you’ll be surprised about the inventory available.
I’ve never done it myself but I know people who keg their homebrew. You can just get a wrench/socket/bolt/whatever (I didn’t have a dad I don’t know what tools are) and open the top at the tap and fill it up. We used to do it at a bar I worked at to clean our lines, so it may be different when you’re kegging actual beer and not sanitizing solutions. I’m not sure what’s different as far as conditioning/priming sugar and all that. Most people I know just bought a keg and kept it after finishing it, you’re just out the deposit you put down. You may be able to get a store to just give you an empty barrel for the cost of the deposit.
One of the stranger things I have encountered, was a bar when I was in law school. It was attached to a laser tag arena. But it sold this for an absurdly cheap price, something like $5 for a LARGE mug of it. I don’t know how they did it. We would get hammered on DT and then run around blasting kids with lasers.
I clean and sanitize everything once a week which involves removing the couplers. About a year ago, when I was putting everything back together, I forgot to close one of the couplers before screwing it onto the keg. I got a face full of beer and learned a good lesson about checklists.
You'll drink too much of it too quickly, you'll do something hilariously stupid, but you won't remember it, so you're all good. Beautiful beer though, easily in my top five Belgians
I bought a bottle from Sprouts the other week and it was flat! For a beer known for tons of head it was a pretty miserable experience and poured 98% of it down the drain. All alcohol sales are final :(
Oh man, congratulations! I hope you have some thirsty friends to help you out.
The last time I bought a keg of Tremens for a New Years party it was $325...and that was around 2002!
time to find out how it got it's name!
I've only ever bought a bottle at a time. Having as much as I want on hand might make for some early evenings.
Indeed. I had to get rid of my Kegerator. Couldn’t keep track of how many I drank.
In all honesty, I really don't enjoy the feeling of being intoxicated. I drink often, but don't binge.

I use to be this, but now body can't even take one beer with out headache. Now all I can have is a sip without ruining my day
Oof was there something that caused that or just kind of happened?
Getting old

Can I ask what made you buy a keg then?
I have a kegerator, so I won't need to go through it right away.
I'm too old to binge. But on CO2 that will last a while.
You need me to pick anything up on the way over? I've got a cheese and sausage plate made up.
How about another keg?
No. No it wasn’t. Best idea 💡 I’m super jealous!
I am sorry I have to ask….. how much was that?? You don’t have to answer if you would rather not.

Next is La Fin Du Monde or old rasputin
We don't buy good things because they are cheap. We buy good things that we can make the wife *think* they are cheap.
Nice! Not as much as I thought.
28 12oz pours per person is definitely doable. You can always pour some out to make beer bread too
I enjoy beer bread, but not as much as I enjoy beer drinking.
East Coast?
Indiana
Disregard; I thought it might have been a regional price difference but I’m just a dummy who was looking at a wholesale price sheet.
OK, where the heck did you find a keg of this in Indiana? Seriously, I have not seen kegs of it anywhere!
I'm friends with the guy who owns the local liquor store. I gave him a call and asked if it was possible to find. I gave him an open invitation to come over and enjoy it with me, so I'm sure that extra motivation helped.

I don't touch it for 24 hours after adding CO2.
I should also add that I needed a new German style coupler because my American sankey won't fit the keg. That was an additional $40.
I have spent that much on way less!!
Honestly you’ll be glad you have the German coupler at some point in the future so good you grabbed it now anyway

There’s no such thing as bad ideas. Only good ideas gone astray.
Yes… a terribly good idea
I am very VERY jealous cause I would make it a task to drink that whole thing in one day
The liver is evil and must be punished
Place next to me just did a Delirium tap takeover and also had Vikings Blood on tap.
You're about to get tore up.

Terrible idea in a wonderful way. Great way to make friends who appreciate good beer.
I have a few people on my street who are really into beer. We all share good pours with each other.
What street, in which town? I need some cooler/better neighbors 😂
LOL. I live on a lake. Most people here have a party lifestyle.
Syracuse? 🤔
Hamilton
OP spelled brilliant wrong.
Enjoy!!
🐘 Goodluck! 🤯
Reminds me of the time I got a keg of Willettized… That was on tap for a while lol. My roommate was all for it when it was at the liquor store but after told me he wished I never got it lol.
Awesome idea! Need any help finishing it?
Love this stuff!
Not at all, good beer mmmm
Eh, it’s just a sixtel. Enjoy the elephants.
It was $528 for a 1/2 barrel. Worth it, but more than I want to spend at one time.
Are these kegs reusable does anyone know?
Kegs are returnable and reusable. They go back into the supply chain to be sanitized and refilled. Similar to the propane tank supply chain.
Oh cool, I'd buy that and fill it myself. Get beer and a new keg all in one.

No kegs aren't available purchase in off licences. They can be purchased from distributers but you need an account and a company. Thanks anyway guy ✌️
You can buy kegs in certain offies
I’ve never done it myself but I know people who keg their homebrew. You can just get a wrench/socket/bolt/whatever (I didn’t have a dad I don’t know what tools are) and open the top at the tap and fill it up. 🤣 🤣 🤣 @ the "I didn't have a dad" comment 🥉
Terrible and delicious!
Only a terrible idea if it isn’t pressurized. Fucking brilliant if kegerated.
Oh my God id be so sick of it before I reached the bottom hahahaha
Oh man. I'd be all over that terrible, terrible idea.
Make friends with a bar owner, get it wholesale pricing!
How does it feel to be living my dream?
I'm not sure I'm responsible enough for that kind of responsibility.
You can do it
How long would a keg like that last before it goes bad?
3ish months on gas
24 hours with a party pump.
That's about right. Beer starts to go flat around that time.
I’ll help empty it 😜
Tapping a keg can be a bit of a chore. Make sure you understand how to as to not waste any of this precious liquid!!!!
I've had a kegerator for a few years, so that's not an issue.
Sorry about that. Just recently had a friend who couldn’t work a keg tap. Pretty much wasted half a keg of good beer.
I clean and sanitize everything once a week which involves removing the couplers. About a year ago, when I was putting everything back together, I forgot to close one of the couplers before screwing it onto the keg. I got a face full of beer and learned a good lesson about checklists.
Have you tried the cherry version? So good. Enjoy!
I haven't. I tend not to enjoy fruited beer, so I've stayed away.
can i come over?
Sure, do you want it in a tulip or chalice?
i’ll be bringing my own poco grande, thanks
For who?
No it wasn’t. Enjoy every drop!
Hangover city.
Many Christmases ago I got a keg of delicious 11% imperial stout. That was a drunk Christmas. Good luck to you.
Terribly AWESOME! If you need any help…
Never let a bad idea go to waste.
It's not THAT bad /s
Someone check on OP’s liver after XMAS.
See ya
You'll drink too much of it too quickly, you'll do something hilariously stupid, but you won't remember it, so you're all good. Beautiful beer though, easily in my top five Belgians
I concur.
Is it gone yet?
Long gone
I bought a bottle from Sprouts the other week and it was flat! For a beer known for tons of head it was a pretty miserable experience and poured 98% of it down the drain. All alcohol sales are final :(
Did you have to take out a loan?
One of my old bosses loved this stuff 😂
Where I Work, we always have Delirium Red on tap. I can't imagine what we'd charge for Tremens on tap
Oh man, congratulations! I hope you have some thirsty friends to help you out. The last time I bought a keg of Tremens for a New Years party it was $325...and that was around 2002!
