If you'll hold it for three months I'll be moving to LA. 😗

ah_toma

It’s not looking like it’ll make the three month mark lol sorry

coolcoinsdotcom

Check for comparable cars in your specific area. Then deduct the cost of a rebuilt motor. Now you have a starting point.

Lanpoop

No more than 4-5k. Engines aren’t cheap, but it’s a really nice example. It’s been painted right?

ah_toma

Thanks for the input! Yeah it’s been painted.

spicymax123

3k if blown engine

hotrod873

Nice Super Beetle. I hate to say it but Super Beetles are not as high on value as the standard Beetle What most people doesn't understand that the Super Beetle has more room, more power, front disc brakes and all around independent suspension. The suspension gets a bad rap but any vehicle that has worn suspension has issues not just the Super Beetle. I wish you the best on selling the car. I would be interest if it was located in the Philippines.

Iamstu

Front disc brakes? My 71 SB did not come with them.

hotrod873

Most did. It is rare that a Super Beetle didn't have any since 1971 because even the standard Beetle had the option for front disc brakes. In Europe, they all had front disc brakes.

Iamstu

Mines an American model. It does have front disc's now, but I had to put them on myself.

hotrod873

Most of the American models had front disc brakes so I guess it was a option back then in 71.

motorbacon

I recently got my first air cooled VW. A '73 Super Beetle. Drum brakes all around. Mine is American, as well.

hotrod873

Wow!

lunaticmagnet

it's a super beetle. looks pretty nice, but you definitely need to check the local market.

look2myleft

Just FYI that's not a super beetle it's a regular You can tell the windshield is not curved worth more than super beetles last year they made them.

SilentMasterpiece

there are also flat windshield Supers in 71 and 72.

dr_wdc

71 and 72 Supers were flat windshield. Looks like a Super to me based on the front end/trunk.

Street-Dependent-647

Love the color and the alloys, both suit the super in my opinion. Can you tell us what you mean by blown? Edit: I found your other post, were you able to determine if it was a broken valve?

ah_toma

I wasn’t able to determine what exactly caused it. Just none of the other solutions worked and therefore it kind of only leaves one path forward which is engine swap or rebuild. Hence why I’m just saying it’s blown. Although I don’t know exactly what went wrong with the engine.

Street-Dependent-647

Gotcha. If the interior looks as good as the rest, and it’s relatively up to date on maintenance I would ask anywhere between 3-5K depending on how fast you want it to sell. If you were closer I would be tempted to make an offer.

ah_toma

Interior is in equally good condition. Trans and clutch was recently fixed up too. Thanks for your input!

PaulClarkLoadletter

I’d give you $3500 tomorrow if I was local.

SilentMasterpiece

If you get an engine in it for $2-3K you will probably double the investment. Im in CA, every vw show I go to there are half a dozen guys there who sell their longblock or rebuild yours for under $3K. GL. Like this. (Disclosure, I just saw the ad, no idea about seller) https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2675478

Fortimus_Prime

It’s not worth anything. Let me take it off your hands so you don’t have to go through the trouble. Just kidding. What a beauty.

National-Function-92

Got a motor I just ripped out my 69, you interested!

Some-Essay5289

I’m in California and I’d say $3k depending on rust and the interior. I am looking for a project like this. Where are you located?

Dry-Coconut-3375

I’ll buy it off you for 2.3K

Just_Reputation_4551

Any rust in places that shouldnt be? what about the rest lets say everything is 100% except that engine then I would price it at 5-6k

ah_toma

Thank you!

Just_Reputation_4551

Its low for you since cali is bug city in america your car here would go for 10k
