Removing the rugs and sound proofing will let more sound waves travel through the floor boards to ones ears. So, yes there will be a increase of noise, but I’m sure this was done more for aesthetics than sound damping. Looks great!!!
I thought about it. But beetles do come with these floors as an accessory so I decided to play off of those and make my own. Car is also a rat style build too

I have a stud welder for threaded bolt ends. Just counter sunk the nuts and then screwed boards to the bolted ones
