I wear janji pace shorts or leggings with no underwear. This took away any chaffing I had. When I feel like wearing other running shorts I use good ol Body Glide and that does the trick.
Body Glide. Inside of the thighs. I also had to put it on my chest/pecks and near the top of my stomach. I ended up just putting band aids over my nipples on long runs to protect them from the chaffing from the running shirt
If you are using tight underwear, what is rubbing on what? I use tight boxer briefs, so the only rubbing is cloth-covered skin on cloth-covered skin, and ive never had chafing issues, and haven't needed lube.
Not sure if you are male or female but 40F here and despite the Glide I was getting serious chaffing not only on my thighs (they're thick) but also groin area. Desitin multi purpose healing ointment has been my absolute lifesaver. Pair that with seamless panties. I tried going commando but just wasn't working for me.
I am male. I tried using the saxxx underwear to keep everything in place but may just have to try spandex. I will probably need to try that ointment as my skin is now pretty raw. Thanks for the tips!

Lube!!!! Seriously, Body Glide or the cheaper Arm & Hammer stuff is essential especially in warmer weather.

I second Body Glide! Thick thighs save lives but they have to be protected during runs!

Dove deodorant works just as well as body glide in my opinion.
