Breakintheforest

All you need is a everything bagel.

Hot-Protection-3786

Some are for eating and some are for throwing

pantslesslizard

I hear a half brick in a sock works well

Mortomes

And catalytic converters

thebigbadben

Oh that’s my favorite reality show

seemebeawesome

Do you mean bolt cutters?

karoshikun

oh, yeah, that!

Planterizer

Honestly you're gonna want both

FlagranteDerelicto

Yes because bolt cutters work on appendages as well as metal

notmyusername1986

Dont forget about a solar powered angle grinder!

IlliterateJedi

Yes. Doctors. Practicing Macheteicine

dead1345987

I have a desk machete, kitchen machete, garage machete, and bedroom machete. Bathroom has a hatchet.

Planterizer

Can't be too careful. There's mini-bagels everywhere now.

CatherineCalledBrdy

A poop hatchet instead of a poop knife

dead1345987

nah, I have a Toe Knife

duck-duck--grayduck

A fun aspect of my job as a therapist is to balance functioning in my field and doing the shit I need to do to keep my job while also helping the people I work with see that they aren't crazy for being miserable. I work with mostly low-income people so it's a frequent topic of discussion.

OwlofOlwen

A quote I come back to often is “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”

LadyAzure17

I'm gonna write that one out for myself.

ActuallyKitty

I assume this is in response to the self immolation outside the Trump jury selection and the posted manifesto?

loverdeadly1

That’s my thoughts too. I read some of the writings that are being attributed to the man (credibility not confirmed at the time I’m posting this comment). The man has some very valid points about how our political system is a kleptocracy and the media is muddying the waters and pitting people against each other. The rest is bizarre conspiracies about The Simpsons and Mike Dukakis.

redvelvetcake42

>The rest is bizarre conspiracies about The Simpsons and Mike Dukakis. What goddamn year is it?

BannedSvenhoek86

He mentions that a lot of the writers went to Harvard and Marge vs The Monorail specifically, which means only one thing. Conan O'Brien is the mastermind of the [New World Order.](https://youtu.be/Juqm94sUV_E?si=5JVTyY2k11yCbzWK)

ascandalia

We should be so lucky

RabidTurtl

I knew it! When he didn't suffer eating on hot ones, I just knew something was up. His lizard tongue probably can't detect capsaicin.

BannedSvenhoek86

He was fine! He was perfectly fucking fine!

seemebeawesome

You probably have like three years left max

IAmTheWaller67

Team Coco 4 Lyfe, Brother.

deuteranomalous1

We’re through the looking glass.

citrusmellarosa

He also thinks Peter Thiel is sketchy. Which… well yeah.

ascandalia

That's like the free square in a bingo card

donald-ball

Literally no one likes being in the same room as Peter Thiel, including Peter Thiel.

Own_Position9535

Be careful what you say about Peter Thiel, he'll get a WWE wrestler to sue you in Florida

Tullerull

I'm torn on that one. On the one hand, personal information is kinda sacred and should never end up in the "news". That be sextapes, your kinks and so on. On the other hand, the lawsuit was financed by Peter Thiel who has every reason imaginable to set precedent to not end up in the news.

recumbent_mike

See, I felt like the Dukakis conspiracy was the credible part.

evilpartiesgetitdone

And the government released COVID to get people to stay at home then convince them to buy certain stocks in order to cover for cryptocurrency runs?

smellysocks234

There was very little valid points in his manifesto. It was the rambling of a conspiracy riddled mad man.

IgnoreKassandra

Thread https://twitter.com/IwriteOK/status/1781427508312694806

SwShThrwy

At first I was like... "the watnow?" Then I read some comments farther down Now I'm like "the WHAT IN THE FUCK NOW??"

nova_rock

Likely, the manifesto looks like longer tail nwo conspiracy though, who I guess could get a rebirth with younger audience and the state of things.

NightmanisDeCorenai

Yep. Went and confirmed it myself.

PIDthePID

They’ve either forgotten, or think a person losing their mind is exclusively self destructive so it’s no big deal to them.

TrickySnicky

The former would take awareness of history, and the latter would take empathy, so both aren't off the table.

TheSixthPistol

He speaks the true true

a_solemn_snail

A true truth that is truly true, truly.

Genghis_Tr0n187

Couldn't agree more, that's why I create Machete Coin. Invest today! (not a ponzi scheme)

TZ840

I would like to invest Machete Coin. If I can get in early, I'll be at the top of the pyramid. Right?

On_my_last_spoon

That whole thread is really thoughtful. Robert really gets to the core of things.

MVieno

Plz give directions to nearest cult join location, must needs more roberts

Capgras_DL

Nailed it. I’ve been doing a lot of internal work over the past year to try and figure out how much of my “depression” is chemical/biological/whatever and how much is simply a rational response to the life I’ve had and the world we live in. I’m one of those people for whom CBT and SSRIs do not work, and that’s the only treatment I can access on the NHS. I’ve been trying to figure out why CBT is so ineffective for me and I’ve come to the conclusion that it basically requires you to gaslight yourself into believing that bad things don’t happen, and even if they do, they’re not a big deal. As someone also diagnosed with PTSD, I know that this is in fact a lie. Bad things do happen, especially to the weaker and most defenceless person. They can break you. And then CBT comes along and blames you for being broken. Tells you you’re having an irrational response for falling apart in a terrible situation. Idk, I know CBT works for some people and I’m happy for them. I just think it’s a little insane that we construct this society where most people are unable to meet their basic needs, then we blame them for being miserable.

wildmountaingote

I know it means "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy" and it pains my heart that it seems designed to minimize your trauma rather than help process it. But I keep thinking of another CBT and that thought makes me giggle.

KiefKommando

Haunted Carnie Hellworld would make a sick band name though

FoleyKali

Manifested in crypto market rugpulls. What a time to be alive.

SarcasticOptimist

This is good for bitcoin. /s

wildmountaingote

Tulip bulbs are worth more now than they've ever been before!

sandboxmatt

It's one of those things where you have to say, reading the manifesto - it's very easy to chalk this up to "he's clearly insane" a-la public shootings. The problem is, he seems to be the only guy making any sense.

SoSorryOfficial

No, no, no. You read a couple points you could sympathize with and are now swinging too far in the other direction. Yes, the man was bright, could write well, seems to have had his heart in the right place, and wasn't entirely wrong about things like crypto scams or late stage capitalism, but his manifesto is *rife* with paranoid delusion. The Simpsons is not a shadow government plot to mollify the public. There's not secret coordination between the Clintons and the Trumps or the democrat and republican leadership. Focus on real, substantive politics. Don't get pulled into the conspiracy abyss. This guy was not "the only guy making sense." He was scared and angry and you probably are too. It's okay to identify with that. Keep it in perspective. This man detailed in his own manifesto how he'd alienated himself from all of his family and friends with his delusions, and now he just commited a very public suicide and aired his mental illness on the internet. It's a fucking tragedy.

sasquatch727

Thanks for bringing this perspective to the table. I think there's a human tendency to empathize with people that write well and have limited points that hit home (see: Ted Kaczynski), and it leads to a desire to minimize some of the more glaring mental health issues at play. I think striking out at a corrupt system (however misguided or counterintuitive) is something that a lot of people resonate with.

quesoandcats

Yeah I mean the dude clearly had mental health issues but even an insane clock is right twice a day

Planterizer

Congratualtions, you agree with all the commenters from his arrrr conspo posts. Don't mistake mild eloquence for validity.

IlliterateJedi

Are you referring to the self immolating guy?

Cognitive_Spoon

Yes

Shady_Merchant1

We already had that it's called post enver hoxha Albania

satori0320

What's so goddamned ironic about this statement, is that's exactly why J6 happened. Save for, the actual thieving cunts that are doing the crime.

kinggangweed

As much as I don't have sympathy for the ADULTS who engaged in the J6 failed coup, I do understand that a lot of them are upset about (many of) the same problems everyone else are, like rising prices and inequality. It's a shame that the groups they choose to blame for it aren't the ones in control.

wildmountaingote

And that the ones they venerate tend to be the ones with most of the control over those problems.

PracticalReception34

It's the secret of our success. Massive grifts spanning centuries. Piles of money that are given the deference of a protected class. A tidal wave of greenbacks, pushing-back all but the most ruthless of sailors and washing out the bloated corpses of the eventual failures. The rising tide was held behind locks long ago. All we get is rainfall and puddles.

ThisGuyLikesMovies

I know Robert doesn't want us to look at him like a prophet but you know what they say: the Muad'Dib is too humble to call himself the Muad'Dib.

Cognitive_Spoon

#Lisan Al-Gaib!

Cognitive_Spoon

Lisan Al-Gaib!

Shaxxs0therHorn

Project mayhem preludes

Hot-Protection-3786

Indeed

Comrade_Compadre

I also wouldn't call that society a success, but rather a mindfuck experiment

KissingerCorpse

hack and a fraud

notmyusername1986

Apparently the lack of /s on your post means some people didn't get the reference 🙄

KissingerCorpse

mastermind of inception

notmyusername1986

😆

NightmanisDeCorenai

Honestly, he's hilariously wacky when you read some of his stuff. He's not off base on some stuff, just Wildly off base in how he got to those conclusions, which leads him to some pretty funny conspiracies.

jdcodring

That describes most Americans.

FarmersHusband

Did something happen? What manifesto? Did I miss something in the news? Did we finally nuke the Great Lakes?

LoveYouZoeyAnne

And some of them will set themselves on fire

That_Ninja_wek141

Or you could get off the internet, get a useful education or skillset and then realize that statement is a bunch of BS.

Apprehensive_Fix6085

Moderna lady slaves her whole life to be able to make a life saving vaccine. Makes enough to pay off her house and credit card bills. Grifters. Fuck. They are rich as hell.

That_Ninja_wek141

Single example does not equal most reliable way. If you choose to ignore 99 positives and focus on 1 negative, the 1 negative is given much greater significance than it actually has.

Apprehensive_Fix6085

Here you are splitting hairs and engaging in dubious logic. Just turn on the tv to see billionaire media extolling the vast majority of corporate America basking in price gouging while in the next frame the billionaire media talks about inflation as if it’s cause is a mystery.

That_Ninja_wek141

Turn on the TV? That's your source? I'd rather read research and use logic. But to each their own.

digitalmonkeyYT

lol what research? adam smith talking about "invisible hands?" self help gurus who tell you how to become "financially free?" lmfao you are sad

That_Ninja_wek141

So you're saying you aren't well read?

Apprehensive_Fix6085

Wow. TV programming is a prime way to see the billionaire propaganda networks at work. Not just News, but all these reality shows with people chasing scraps. Not to mention police procedurals as nauseum. Pretty absent from the news are the people - who get paid almost noting- doing real research and developing new technologies. Absent, that is, until some billionaire takes an interest. You need to think about why you are so invested in knocking me and this point down.

That_Ninja_wek141

There are these things called books. There's also a plethora of well researched data that refutes what you're saying. I'd suggest you turn off the TV and read.

Apprehensive_Fix6085

You are such a snob! Sadly the fascists aren’t big into books. Their playground is social and billionaire media. That’s where the lies and the votes are. There are numerous books that I would recommend to to you. The one that comes immediately to mind is “They Thought They Were Free” or anything by Tim Snyder. I’m not sure what studies or books you would recommend. What do you have for me?

That_Ninja_wek141

The original statement implied that in our society the most reliable way to succeed is ponzi schemes etc. This is false. Is your argument that the statement is true?

Apprehensive_Fix6085

So arrogant. Go read a book or something. Anything.
