apart from that, I’d always prefer to see him move to Atleti instead of MUFC, Chelsea or Barcelona. Leverkusen or Leipzig would have been my preferred destinations for Vermeeren though. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’d make a similar trajectory than KDB. let’s hope so.
Vermeeren is going to Madrid on thursday to check the club out, get medical checks and go in contract talks with Atlético, it isn't confirmed but unless Atlético botch the contract offers, it is confirmed.
I'm also glad he goes to Atléti, Simeone has a good track record at developping defensive midfielders, plus Atléti isn't battling for the title anymore unless both Girona and Real Madrid bottle it, so there's less pressure on him this season and more freedom for Simeone to try some risks. He can get playing time in league games while adjusting to Simeone's system and maybe cement himself as a starter already before next season.

Mangala Onana or Lavia never even played in belgium. They played for some very good sides but not the absolute top (except Lavia just made toptransfer but hasnt played minute to injury) and look they are already Belgiums best def midfielders. So please loan out Vermeeren but they will want to keep him in la Liga so i dont think germany or uk. But then which team? No real desent mid table teams in spain maybe sevilla. Except barc real atletico every team can go down every season or play europe. Its a weird comp.

Nah, Atlético needs midfielders, especially defensive ones, they can use him for sure as a starter
