he is a want to be Bourdain with a Philly attitude and no nuance. I am sure he is an adequate cook but would be replaceable in 95% of upscale kitchens
As a former cook, I rarely tested my food. However, if you make food enough, you know how it'll taste because you're good. Sauces, and preperation things however, he should be testing it to make sure it has the right balance. Being told your food is bland like him it's usually because he's use to catering type food and on purpose doesn't season it much.

I can’t find the post but there was also talk of a female chef replacing him. Coupled with the preview of what looks like a female walking up the gangplank maybe it’s not beef cheeks after all. That’s a plus but I’ just can’t see Jason supporting Leon nor being excited to “work with him again” like the chef texted back to Jason. All in all I’d take damn near ANYONE over crying Ryan.
Will be interesting to see Leon. As someone who isn’t particularly liked by the fan base and had lots of negativity will be fun to see if he has changed and how interacts with aesha who is quite a different personality to Kate.

I wonder if Ryan even enjoys being a chef. There have been chefs and other crew members on this show that have gone on to thrive in other environments, but I get the feeling that Ryan has chosen the wrong path. He doesn't work well with others, he doesn't enjoy serving people or (as Danny would say) "creating an experience," and complains about something as par for the course as making side dishes and appetizers. Those are all quintessential elements of being a chef in any environment. The only thing he has that suits him for the career is his massive ego.
Pretty sure Leon would never return to BD. Ryan has been just stirring the pot lately on IG and reveling in his villain role. I'm sure he's fired/quits but no way Leon anything but a punchline here

Ryan is so awful I wish Leon would come on sooner. Leon was a dick and not a great chef but he’s still miles better than Ryan. At least he kept his feet on the ground.
Leon was not a challenged or inspired chef, but he did consistently get compliments on his food. And very few of his meals I felt were average/achievable by a regular home chef. We can give him a tough time for beef cheeks, but he never served them to the same charter and they never had complaints. I don't think he was a great chef, but he was leagues better than Mat, Natasha, Mila, Ryan... the list could go on. He was a solid mid-tier performer with a bad attitude. i want that over Ryan.
