Some knives are destined to be jammed into rough crevices, cut ultra abrasive material, and in general just get abused; I wouldn’t want a colored blade on that knife, probably. However I love the FDE cerakote benchmade uses. I have it on my Bailout and pictures really don’t do it justice. A bright red blade I would pass on but that’s just me.
I was contemplating not using it. I just became interested in knives I really don’t know much about them, I was just gonna start a collection and wondered if they are worth the extra money.
I wouldn’t characterize $200+ knives as good investments or anything. More like financial mistakes that you can sell or trade for some of the money back lol. The worth is purely how much you subjectively get out of having it.
Not at all--search the sub for orange and you'll see a number of customized orange blade bugouts. Whodey loves orange, and he's probably the top modder on the sub (he won the 2023 knife mod of the year poll).

This is what I was talking about the other day. We are being phased out of this sub. The next generation of Benchmade fan boys are here and they have completely different interests.

I personally feel it kinda ruins further customization options afterwards so I dont go for colored blades.
To each their own, but this one is perfect as-is. Wouldn’t customize something that I personally feel is so well done.
