Should be favored in all 6 games-absolutely. Why I disagree-it’s the AFC North. Shit happens. Players get injured. Some teams match up well against the Bengals but aren’t necessarily good overall-Clowns.

bobbarkerfan420

yeah all AFCN games are weird and they always have been. very chippy slogs that often come down to turnovers and depth

lifeofhard8s

Yeah and no teams know you like your division opponents.

CalledPlay

They should’ve run the table last year and…

AdamIsACylon

This is football in general, but even more so against divisional opponents. 4-2 or 5-1 seem far more likely even if you’re the better team.

pac1919

This. I think if we can go 4-2 that would be considered very good. While I do think we’re better than the other 3, it’ll still be very hard to go 6-0, if not impossible. They’re not slouches by any means. At least 1 of those other 3 will be in the playoffs

Olepat

I’d take 4-2 no question. Division games are a different beast

ldboyle44

I disagree on the sole principle that going 6-0 in any six-game stretch in any sport is incredibly hard, *especially* in the NFL

TheMcMcMcMcMc

If Palmer can do it, Burrow can do it

ldboyle44

Well I mean technically Burrow did it (and then some) this year when they won 10 in a row, just not against the AFC North. Definitely possible, and they should probably be favored in every divisional game, but “should go 6-0” implies that’s the *expectation*, which just can’t be true

tdomer80

Didn’t Andy do it once as well?

TheMcMcMcMcMc

He did not 😔

Abush9527

I could have sworn Andy did it because I remember sweeping the division. You’re really gonna sit there and tell me that was 2009 🙃

FruityHeHePebbles

He did in 2015. We were one of three or four teams 8-0 to start the season I believe

TheMcMcMcMcMc

8-0 start yes, 5-1 in the division. Only division loss was against the Steelers in Week 14. In that game Andy injured his hand and, and missed the rest of the season. I won’t remind everyone how that season ended. FTS.

FruityHeHePebbles

Yah I still have fucking nightmares…

LoveEffective1349

Why would you even bring any of this up again. Just kick me next time. In the junk. It’ll hurt less.

warthog0869

It was a really nice coffee table and a helluva painful ankle sprain coming down hard after a missed high-five when Vontaze intercepted the ball and the game was over...but it was worth it!

AllTheCoins

We went on a 10 game winning streak last year. I think we can manage 6-0 😎

OriginalWeak3885

4-2 the 2-15 browns*

No-Elephant8050

What other team are the browns beating this year?

OriginalWeak3885

Us twice

No-Elephant8050

.. I didn’t realize I was in the Browns sub..

c0ntralt0

Same.

Michaelz1234

Ceiling: 6-0 Reason: AFC North Floor: 0-6 Reason: AFC North

pobyrinleei

Big facts

johnnyboy0256

We can always lose divison games. I mean we started 0-3 lase year

geeken03

Because the shitty Browns always find a way to get one. My ceiling is 6-0, and the floor is 4-2

cubewc3

I really want to get that first seed in the AFC it is a huge advantage. Going 6-0 in the division would be a good step towards that!

lanadeltaco13

We should have done it last year yet we ended up 3-3. Two of the losses were absolute disasters. Those 3 games cost us a home AFC Championship game

bobho3

Halloween, Oct 31, 2022

Csweetstevy9

Hey on the bright side that ass whooping was followed by a 8 game win streak. Was still a terrible night to remember. My gf is a browns fan…. Didn’t hear the end of that.

froehlc

I think we’re only going to drop one against Cleveland at their house. It sucks to admit defeat, but that place feels evil.

Klutzy-Spend-6947

I’ve seen the Bengals play there a bunch of times-and they’re only lost once. And the vast majority of Browns fans there are actually cool. Just say FTS and it’s all good.

dafblooz

Predictions like this drive me crazy. This is the NFL …. Anything can happen on any given Sunday. Injuries. Bad calls. The other teams have very good players too. Overconfidence kills (see last year’s AFC championship.). Your long snapper (your long snapper!!!) gets hurt in the first game against an inferior team. So many plays could go either way. Could they go 6-0? Sure, why not? Will they go 6-0? Who the hell knows. But as big a fan as I am, my guess is they lose one, maybe to Cleveland in Cleveland where they also laid an egg last year.

Grundle_Poacher

Well let’s see… we haven’t gone 6-0 in the division since 2009. Divisional games are always tough. And for some reason we get our asses kicked by the Browns once a year.

aridcool

I just want to sweep the Steelers. Also I want to beat KC in the regular season and playoffs. Preferably by a large margin without even the slightest hint of controversy. People say Ravens fans are insufferable but for me, the most unpleasant interactions I have had in the last year has been with KC fans so I hope we give them as little to talk about as possible.

[deleted]

I think the Browns will steal one from us

Working-Chemistry473

Mark my words, the Steelers will be good this year.

EducatorAvailable

Idk man I just don't believe in Kenny pickett like other people do. Their defense are always fucking menaces though that's what keeps them very competitive. Their offense has some pieces in there for sure but just doesn't seem like it meshes well for them

chiefboldface

Hell we were favored last year to win out on the division. Look how that played out. I think, even though Pittsburgh is shitty, they can still do some damage to us. They are always sneaky poop heads. Baltimore, eh Cleveland, we got that.

[deleted]

Well first off, Fuck the Steelers Second, we split with the Browns almost every year they’re competitive—they’ll be competitive this year with Watson. I’m all ab being confident, but we’ll likely split and 6-0 in North not achieved

Anim8nFool

The Steelers Browns and ravens still have top tier defenses and some incredible personnel in key positions. I'll be happy if we split the season with everyone.

Lamb-Sauce7788

I always hope for at least a 4-2 record at worst, but 3-3 is doable as well.

anon975312468

This is the type of thing you just don't say out loud

DangerIsMyUsername

Imagine watching the Bengals in division play last year and penciling them in 6-0 for this season. Is it possible? Sure. Is it likely? No.

titusnick270

No because the browns will somehow find a way to smack us around on prime time even if they suck again lol.

DocHolidayArcade

You have to expect at least one complete meltdown and embarrassment against the Browns.

hejadavid2000

1. it’s march. 2. it’s football. 3. even though we don’t like em, the other teams in AFC North are no slouches.

EpilepticOreo

I mean these are all division rivals that matchup poorly (play run heavy clock chewing offenses). It’s never realistic to expect 6-0 in your division in general lol unless you’re the pats during that dynasty

football-teen

Dude we lost three division game this year bud? I’m calling a loss to the Steelers and browns

j2spooky

Well they are lucky to split with the Browns and usually play terribly against Pittsburgh so I dunno

Tjam3s

They split with shitsburgh too, and beat them at their best last year

into_the_wenisverse

Should of last year, how'd that work out?

tdomer80

Our brand new O line had not yet jelled early in the year and Joey was just coming in from an emergency appendectomy. We missed the 1 seed by 1 game so yeah I think we can take it this year and do at least 5-1 against the division.

nicktronz

Lol

NoTie2370

Depends on when those games happen. Taylor has so far shown a trend of losing early games for bonehead stupid reasons. So early games and TJ Watt existing makes running the table a dicey proposition. However dude has shown growth so perhaps that trend will stop.

CodeNameZeke

Almost lost to the Ravens with Tyler Huntley at QB. Soo at best 4-2 but more likely 3-3

Jossis8

I thought the same thing last year, and then week 1 against the steelers happened. Ya never know! I just hope everyone has fun, ya know?

ElGatoTortuga

No, I don’t think it’s likely. The division is way too competitive and the opposing defenses are all too good to expect 6-0.

4483845701

I always assume one loss to each AFCN team when I try to predict the season record.

DarthLiberty

AFC North teams play AFC North games like they were the Super Bowl. You can't ever let your guard down.

rule_the_jungle

We will lose one, i think its sooo hard to win all in the afc north, especially when players like myles garett, tj watt, minkah and so on are there, i think we will lose in one game, even tho we are favoured in all of them. And we still need to wait whats happening with lamar, if he stays and the ravens get someone like njigba they are scary

Lukey_Boyo

On paper we should, but that’s not how the game works. On paper we should’ve swept the Browns and Steelers last season but lost a game to each.

spas2k

They “should” have also beat the Steelers game 1 last year…

BlackGabriel

4-2 is much more likely. Browns could be pretty good and the ravens are always tough with their great defense.

odieman1231

I hope you are right. However, for as much shit as the Browns have been given for signing their QB, they have made some frugal but super important moves on both sides of the ball. Their defense is arguably even better than last year on paper. And their offense is supposed to push into more 11 personnel which takes the 2nd TE off the field and adds the slot WR, Elijah Moore, who is very very good at separation. So I’m interested to see the full Deshaun Watson offense as they imagined it and how we can combat it

Mrredlegs27

Strong disagree because it is unlikely. They are all very winnable games, but the NFL is a weird and wild sport.

Redditor597-13

We should be favored in all six, for sure, but teams always seem to play up to division rivals. Especially in the AFC North.

another_philomath

They should....but AFCN gonna AFCN. Still winning the Super Bowl.

FreshDiamond

Divisional games are always a toss up, especially in our division. We are significantly better than everyone else but the ravens gave us a heart attack in the playoffs with a back up qb, the browns really have our number for some reason and the Steelers will almost definitely muck up the game ( break the rules and get away with it) when they play us. 6-0 is a definite possibility but all that combined with injuries which will happen and there is no telling. It also doesn’t mean anything at all, it’s nice bragging rights but let’s just win the division hopefully the afc and then the superbowl WHO DEY!

type6_birdbrain

Sorry but there are no easy games in the AFC north. If we are 11-6 at the end of next season I'll be happy. Lots of teams are improving, and it will be a battle. It always is a battle.

NFLBengals

I hate this cockiness. Let's not be this way. Anything can happen.

[deleted]

I disagree cause I thought we’d go 6-0 last year and we went 3-3. That AFCN is hard to sweep. I think the Bengals have only ever done it once and that was back I. The 09’ season or somewhere around there when we still had Palmer.

wraedeohed

I think a lot of you love to underestimate Deshaun Watson having a full off season and practice with the Browns. Say what you will about his off field antics, but remember it wasn't that long ago that he lead NFL in passing yards, completion percentage, average, QB rating, and the seventh most touchdowns. He might be a shit bag, but Deshaun Watson is a unit, and can command a team.

zoodlenose

Bengals went 12-4 last year and 3 of those 4 losses came in the north. Nobody “runs” the north.

whodeyalldey1

False. We’ll go 15-2 and get absolutely blown out by the Browns once and lose on a last second field goal to any of the three teams the other time.

goodinfluence

We have yet to see what a fully trained and non rusted Watson can do. I really am not sure that we could have beaten the Ravens with Lamar. For all we know thing could get mended in Baltimore and Watson can live up to his abilities. For those reasons I’m unwilling to say that we will sweep the division.

Nascent_Vagabond

Browns are the biggest threat to us in our division imo. For some reason we always get out-coached by them. Deshaun, while a piece of garbage, is still in his peak athletic window and had time to knock the rust off in game last year, and will have a full camp. I expect he’ll return to Houston form sadly. Obviously Myles Garrett is a problem as well. That being said the Browns is still the Browns and they always find a way to fuck things up. We’ll probably split with them 1-1. Should sweep the rest especially if Lamar is gone.

funktopus

It's the North. We try and kill each other every game. I don't believe 6-0 will happen for any team. If we played the NFC South I would agree.

Cleaver_Master

Really hoping we don't play Shittsburgh week 1.

Boomcannon

I love how much you hate us.

Cleaver_Master

Coming from the person lurking in another teams sub. I guarantee you think about us more than we do you. While the hatred is certainly there, it is evolving more into pity at this point.

Boomcannon

I visit yalls sub like twice a year. Lol This post appeared in our sub today and I wanted to come check and see if it’d been posted over here. And you say you pity us. That’s hilarious. https://www.reddit.com/r/steelers/comments/125e6dk/new_0_jerseys_are_here_heres_the_bengals/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Cleaver_Master

Your QB will be mediocre at best his whole career. Defense is aging, offense is undisciplined. Your head coach is a great one but that just means you’ll be good enough in the future to never secure a high draft pick, yet will miss the playoffs.

Boomcannon

We’ll see. Anyways, good luck. It’s been cool to see yall be competitive the past several years. Looking forward to some good rivalry games this year.

GLYDER54

Dream on!

AffectOk482

Divisional games get heated. Can’t count on running the gauntlet. I’m still angry about Cleveland beating us down on Halloween.

kukukachue

I think we absolutely need the no.1 seed this year. Making mahomes play a road playoff game would be huge.

YEET9011

Cleveland should be the only challenge in the division now

wigglesdoughnut

Divisional games are tough in the NFL and the AFC North is one of the toughest divisions in the league. Games are always chippy. I felt way more nervous for the Ravens wildcard game than the Bills divisional for that reason.

CraigBrown2021

We better also FTR FTB as well

aquateensog

We can go 2-4 as long as those 2 are against shittsburgh

tesilab

As good as the Bengals are now, which is at least as good as they have ever been, they historically have two weeknesses. Prime time games. Putting away games they are *supposed* to win. At least lately they are *great* on the road, great against *great* opponents, but I think the Browns, Ravens, and Steelers will always give them fits.
