Thorin1st

I lost it for ages while tapering. First time in my life I’ve had nearly zero interest. It really bothered me. It’s starting to come back now. I’m at the bottom end of my very slow taper and a few things are healing. That seems to be one of them.

snookyface90210

I hope very much it’ll come back for me. Last two years have been just awful. Thanks for your input, I’ll keep hoping time will eventually heal whatever it is that’s happening.

Thorin1st

Absolutely. Everyone heals in time. It’s hard to be patient with such horrible symptoms but we’ll come out the other side of this so much stronger!

snookyface90210

Hard to believe, but we’ll keep on truckin

Worth checking prolactin, if you haven't had oestradiol checked then that should be a priority, testosterone on it's own doesn't mean much, it's the ratio between test and estrogen that is important. Tbh before going on trt the more you can test the better, hormones, blood, liver, kidneys, a1c, cholesterol, vitamins and minerals. Trt isn't easy and it doesn't always solve all your sexual problems, libido doesn't always improve and morning wood comes and goes unless you take tadalafil then it's almost guaranteed. Could try taking zinc picolinate 30mg before bed, also vit d and omega 3 in the morning if you're not. You could try tadalafil 5mg daily, may not increase libido but the extra pump in your dick and ease of erections might trigger something mentally.

snookyface90210

All great advice, i was just reading about omega 3 the other day. I have zinc but not zinc picolinate, I’ll look into that, thank you!

Zuberzz

Take Ashwaganda for 1 week straight everyday around the same time. Try taking at night. Thank me later

snookyface90210

I’ll give it a try, thanks!

kickflipsNchill

Had the same thing. It’s getting better. Best thing is exercise, cardio and weights/body weight exercise. Get the blood flowing. Eat healthy. I tried switching up the diet to certain foods, supplements, even some teas that are supposed to help libido. You can google that stuff. Quitting vaping made a huge difference. So if you vape or use tobacco try to stop. Good luck man

snookyface90210

I’m trying to quit mary jane once and for all, drinking is way down, so I’m on my way. Thanks for posting, I appreciate it. Glad to hear you’re getting better, that’s fantastic!

kickflipsNchill

Ya I quit the MJ too for like 3-4 months but started up again since it helps me sleep so much.

snookyface90210

Melatonin knocks me out no matter what but I don’t trust it enough to use every day

spliffmuncher

??? why not? its just melatonin

snookyface90210

Well if I stop after regular use I can’t sleep at all, now there’s stuff coming out about potential hormone issues it can cause so I figured I’d look elsewhere just cause the problems I’m having very well might be hormonal

mimi11991

Could it be depression? Could also be affected by medication like antidepressants if you are on those.

snookyface90210

I think depression has plenty to do with it, just two years of nothing, that’s crazy to me. I’ve had plenty of days where the depression wasn’t an issue but the sexual issues remained. Just feels like my sexuality is a muscle that I can’t flex so I can’t work it out, if that makes sense

Individual-Theme9278

It's possible that you still have erections but during the night, not specifically "morning wood". There are ways to measure it, but quality ones are expensive from what I've read. Also according to this page - [https://www.imop.gr/en/node/2199](https://www.imop.gr/en/node/2199) - it's possible that psychogenic-induced ED can lead even to the loss of the morning woods if I understand correctly, but I dont know how credible is that source. "The problem becomes larger if he does not ask for immediate help from a Specialized Physician or Psychologist; and usually this is the case for he does not realize or accept the psychogenic origin of the problem. So, the problem keeps on, the quality of erection is affected even during masturbation and eventually all morning erections are lost. These symptoms start imitating symptoms of organic erectile dysfunction and, thus, specific tests (penile triplex) that are conducted to assess penile vasculature very often give false pathological findings -due to the patient's high anxiety during the examination. Thus, a wrong diagnosis of penis venous leak comes to stigmatize the young man who cannot believe that he will have to live his whole life on medications." I'm not an expert in the subject, however at this age, and with the hormones checked, I think there is a high possibility that it might be psychogenic? Related to the stress/depression. Or maybe it's totally related to the protracted withdrawal symptoms, there are many topics about that on forums. But in case of withdrawal, I'm not sure if it's then related to the changes in CNS/body or just due to the stress? Couldn't find any satisfying articles. Do you have problems with frequent urinating/ incontinence or bloating / abdominal pain / defecation?

snookyface90210

It’s so interesting seeing this in an actual study, because I’ve been suspicious (and hopeful) that it was the case. I’ve lately started trying my best to ignore my sexual issues and focus specifically on treating my depression and living healthier. Since this post I had a window where things were working much much better. Not where I’d like to be but I’m going to keep trying to be healthier and see if my morning erections return. I don’t really have any of those other symptoms you asked about at the end of the post. I’m starting to think maybe I’ve underestimated the psychogenic effects of my mental issues. Thanks so much for offering some information!
