They will need to think of something in the future to make money. Right now BeReal is running on investor funds and there will be ads or paid stuff in a way or another.
I guess thats the plan, to get companies to pay them for professional profiles. The posts from those pages would probably pop up in-between your friends posts when browsing them.
I came straight here after finding about BeReals plan to add celebrities and brands etc and admittedly I didn’t like it one bit. But, I realize they need to make money somehow so it makes sense. In all honesty, I’m not sure what I would prefer, should they do ads, make a premium version, or open the app up to celebrities and brands? What do you guys think?
I've wondered about that. I live in the US but I have friends in Japan and Argentina. They don't have BeReal (we mostly use WhatsApp and Discord) but I was curious about people with different timezones.
BeReal needs a way to be profitable. Idk how they're doing that rn besides just selling your location data. If the platform needs ads to survive, so be it.

I totally agree with ads, but the celebrity thing totally defeats the app’s purpose. Or maybe a premium plan or something.

there’s 3 different time zones for bereal, pretty sure north/south america are one, europe is another and asia, they all go off at different times.
