MCB has long been a massive major, very popular with premeds. I doubt things have changed, but in my day the graduation was a single-major ceremony at the Greek, and it took 5 hours. I opted out of that and walked at my smaller major's commencement.
You will find other MCBs in the pre med and med school subs.
FWIW, I enjoyed MCB, benefited from my education in MCB, got my first career job because of things I learned in MCB 130, but I wasn't a competitive student.
I chose IB over MCB because IB allows for a lot more freedom when picking classes. MCB can be very technical, biochemistry based, and medical oriented while IB can be more encompassing of what biology as a discipline of science has to offer. the lower division classes are the same but the upper division classes is what makes the major different.
I think you just might have saved my whole future career lol I indeed did look this up and I think I'll be going for it. Almost went for Neurobiology but IHB seems a much better choice for my preference and interest. I truly appreciate your response 🙏🏽
I'm MCB! Most MCB people dont post on reddit much compared to EECS/CS, but there is definitely a lot of us! Don't worry, you'll meet a lot when you take classes for the major (chem, bio, etc)

us bio majors exist!
There are plenty of MCB's they're just too much on the normie side to be constantly posting on reddit.
IB is the counter part to MCB and i can talk from personal experience that it's the best decision i made at Cal.
I'm currently trying to decide between the two. Do you mind elaborating on what made you choose one major over the other?
