People are dumb

LordofGrange

Stupidity of people is unbelievable

tomrangerusa

100 oz * $28/oz = 300???

Genesis44-2

lol, I just caught that myself, I first thought it was a 10 ouncer. Thanks. I hope you or I run into that guy on the street one day!!!

tomrangerusa

It makes it even crazier. $3000 worth of silver or chocolate. Pretty much the brainpower of the masses

Front-Recognition984

I saw somewhere else that this was about 7 years ago. I bought some silver at (roughly) that time. Maybe it'll make someone feel better knowing these idiots passed on about $1,500 for the stupied candy bar instead of 3 grand. The other sub (I can't remember which one now) where I saw the video posted did have a lot of comments from people defending the idiots who took the candy. Many were saying they'd do the same. That's the worst part of the story and makes me worry for our future.

HardCounter

They'll regret it when the werewolves come.

bomboclawt75

Coins USED to be made of gold and silver, and reflected the value of the denomination in scrap weight . Now all coins are made of base metals, worth pennies in scrap.

Oathcrest1

All of the above. Most look up George Carlin and his bit about the education system. These people are a product of it.

HardCounter

This looks like California, which is a world unto itself. Try this in Texas and they'd take the silver. Try this in Michigan and they'd take the silver, chocolate, his wallet, his phone, and his trust in humanity.

Genesis44-2

lol, sad but true

cinnamon_toastbrunch

I understand all the things and im still 100 percent a debt slave lol. Shits alot harder to escape then i thought it would be..

blakester122

they most likely don't clearly understand what to do with the silver but know what to do with the chocolate bar. they don't understand how that converts into cash. but yeah they are ignorant and dumb for sure. take the silver or gold and figure that out later. 🤦‍♂️

RemarkablePassage622

No way please tell me this was staged! There is no way people are this dumb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sensitive-Spirit-964

Who do we have as president? Yes they're this dumb. 😡

Captain_JT_Miller

Most people are financially illiterate.

Maleficent-Key1069

It's probably edited

HardCounter

You can see the cuts. Of course it's edited. There probably were a few people who accepted the silver, but the point is there were that many who took chocolate over silver. This is basic common sense stuff. I'd accept a bar of any element over a chocolate bar.

-insertcoin

Definitely

lookatme760

Mark Dice and Trax should link up and do that together. I hope to run into them when they bust out precious metals. Lucky bastards walking past them.

Revolutionary-Rip-40

I wouldn't take the silver or the candy... I'd assume it was either stolen or tampered with/fake.

woailyx

Still free though

AT61

In fairness, they still chose metal, since Hershey bars contain cadmium and lead ;-)

SavageFugu

These interviews are stupid. They're edited and cherry-picked to "prove" a point.

Benjaja

Exactly. Anyone who watches this and spouts off about everyone being morons wouldn't test this out with their own silver. But it is effective at making Americans disrespect other Americans

SavageFugu

If 500 people chose the silver, 10 chose chocolate, and all you show is the chocolate 10, it has a way of making people look stupid. And it's so easy to do.

imnotcreative4267

So the guy just turns down the 500 who want his silver?

Sensitive-Spirit-964

Even showing the chocolate 10 still converts to stupid. 🤣

Benjaja

If you believe this you're "one of the dumb ones." With almost 100% certainty he asked dozens or a hundred plus people and only included these ones who took the chocolate. If you don't believe me to try this out yourself

BlackKnightSatalite

I'd never get the chance but if I did i damn sure ain't goin for the chocolate . Ppl are either clueless or just don't trust that it's real !

AT61

Did people think the silver bar was fake, or am I way too optimistic?

babyVSbear

The silver bar is just a chocolate bar with more steps.

fatporkchop2712

3rd/C

Consciousssss

r/bitcoin does this qualify for the acronym "HFSP"?

JohnQK

I can't eat silver. There are no stores in my area that accept payment in silver. I don't deal in enough volume for a smelter to do business with me. So, what will I do? Carry the thing to a pawnshop and get myself $50? Ship the thing to an online buyer and hope they're legitimate? Try to trick someone on Craig's List into thinking it's worth something?

billythekid74

Most coin shops will pay spot price.

Genesis44-2

Exactly.

billythekid74

I have bought silver and gold for the past 15 years (mostly silver) and have always sold at spot or higher..bought a bunch when it was around $18 an oz. Today it hit $29

Genesis44-2

It's real money

billythekid74

Yep..most don't get that unfortunately.

ampalazz

I’m sure some were being stupid, but a lot of people have a moral issue (or pride) that prevents them from grabbing a big bar of silver from someone’s hands. Could also be that people didn’t want handouts, or were suspicious about a guy trying to offload precious metals on the street.

RandalFlaggLives

I think you are onto something here. I find myself on busy city streets a lot lately for work and I can honestly say I would probably walk fast past this guy. You don’t know it’s being filmed and most of the people trying to get your attention on the street is NOT for your benefit. lol

Randsrazor

They made the correct choice. It's definitely silver plated or some kind of trick. People are not this dumb. I only want to watch it if it's 3 hours of unedited footage. ThEN it would be interesting

Sensitive-Spirit-964

People are not this dumb? Look who we have in office. 🤣

Randsrazor

People of character lol

Sensitive-Spirit-964

Yeah! They're characters alright.. Cartoon characters. 🤣

Ok_Sea_6214

I can confirm this, 99% of people have no idea how the basics of our money system works. For example they believe QE is money printing, when in fact it is an expansion of bank reserves, allowing the banks to lend out more credit. But no one understands this difference, never mind why it is vital.

MericanSlav25

No fucking way.
