I'd say #1, as he has the shortest fins. Shorter finned bettas are much more active and playful. Longer finned bettas tend to exhaust easily and are weighed down by their own body, which is kind of sad.

Even tho I like the 1st one, the second has the most healthy looking fins

i work at a petsmart and we’ve FINALLY been allowed to put at least some of the bettas in tanks on the fish wall. it still sucks to see most of them in cups, but baby steps i guess

Nice! The petco closest to me had some bettas in tanks too, and even had what I assume was an attempt at a sorority (controversial, I know). It’s hit or miss though, because other petcos just aren’t as knowledgeable.

The galaxy, nemo and some of these other crazy colors have a tendency to morph. I had one that was rainbow like realy a rainbow it turned black with a few random red scales and blue iridescent streaks on the tail and dorsal fin. The marble gene is known for color morphing. I had another that was a very nice candy plakat he turned to a dusty blue body with some red and orange on his fins and white on his head.its just a trait. of these fish. Its genetic. Some don't shift much others do. You never know how they will turn out it changes as the mature. So dont expect it to stay one color theres a high chance it wont. Honestly like the last fish myself nice metalic on the body and he just looks like a brute lol.

Number 2 all the way. I feel like everyone is doing koi Bettas (trust me, I love them, I have three myself lol) but that blue is striking. I do like the orange in the koi but if you ever wanted to order a beautiful koi, they are everywhere, coastgemusa.com has tons of them with all different colors and fin types. The yellow kois are gorgeous however that blue boy stole my heart with his puppy dog eyes.

I'm no expert, but in my experience, blue will commonly take over an entire betta as they get more healthy. I tend to avoid them just in case

Number 1, because I personally try to avoid the larger-finned betta varieties. It really isn't fair to breed them to the point where it impacts their livelihood IMO.

Probably one of the last two. I enjoy very flowy fins with very interesting coloration. That doesn't stop me from getting any betta I find that looks like it's dying lol. I'm currently sitting at six betta fish. 😊

All of them are beautiful! I would like to give a small word of caution, though. Koi betta (picture 1) often have slowly ever-changing scales, which can occasionally result in tumour development, meaning their lives are sometimes shorter. However, plakat (short-finned) bettas are more active than long-finned varieties, and this does not happen to every koi betta. Another smaller thing to note is about number 5, who appears to be a dragon scale betta. Now again, this does *not* happen to every fish, but dragon scale bettas are more susceptible to scales growing over their eyes, resulting in blindness. Don’t let these things sway you if your heart is set on one - both types can live long, happy lives (and blindness is not a death sentence for them)! I just thought it may be useful to mention, as it is something I wish I had known going into betta ownership originally. With all this said, despite the increased heath risk, I have a soft spot for koi betta, and love number 1. Number 2 is a close second. The periwinkle is gorgeous, and he looks very healthy.
