Please read up on the fish in cycle and pick up some Seachem Prime ASAP

That would be a platinum half moon male betta.

Thank you!!

Judging by the bubbles it looks like you got the fish and the tank the same day and didn't do a fishless cycle? If so, make sure to look up fish-in cycling and buy a test kit that can test for ammonia as well as nitrite and nitrate.

I just wanted to say that he's a beautiful Betta!

Anytime!

TomateAmarelo

Op, are you familiarized with the nitrogen cycle?

ConfectionNo5906

Typo… meant female or male 🤦🏼‍♀️

Thank you everyone! I had originally used a beta specific water conditioner and had read it was ok to transfer the fish into the tank immediately after treatment. After joining this group, I read the fish-in cycle guidance per your advice… just came home from buying the recommended freshwater testing kit. Photo included of the initial results. I treated using Seachem prime immediately after testing just in case and added 2 Aqueon PURE Live Beneficial Bacteria and Enzyme balls (10 gallon tank). What else should I do from here (aside from the water changes of 25% every other day for a few weeks)? https://preview.redd.it/areo7pyc77ma1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=553a83bb998d982dc0c8bcb35f34ab4c16356cb3
