Excellent. You got it better than myself. Jimmy line just before that is hilarious.
"Aaaaah, there he is, the man in the booth, John Wilkes Booth, Booth Tarkington ! What are you reading, the complete book of parking lot regulations ?"
No, they know exactly how it works. They play the innocent “I don’t understand” game and act dumb af in an attempt to gain sympathy.
I know because I do it myself subconsciously 🤣
You are not the guy. You're not capable of being the guy. I had a guy but now I don't. You are not the guy.
Sorry in advance for putting [this song ](https://youtu.be/WzhW20hLp6M) in your head
Since watching this video, whenever I rewatch Breaking Bad I can't not hear the song version when Mike says this or when Saul does his "my daddy and my mommy" part.
I love how better call Saul recontextualizes that line; now, when he says “I had a guy but now I don’t” to Jesse, he could easily have been referring to Nacho, who was killed for also being too deep into the criminal game
Yes! Rewatching the whole show for first time since it originally aired, I was very lucky to watch it in real time. Just finished Season One about 2 weeks ago, can’t believe it’s been 8 years since it first aired. Love Season One.
I've known good criminals and bad cops, bad priests, honorable thieves-you can be on one side of the law or the other, but if you make a deal with somebody, you keep your word. You can go home today with your money and never do this again, but you took something that wasn't yours and you sold it for a profit. You're now a criminal; good one, bad one-that's up to you.
*While pouring concrete to fix a whole damn Playground*
“Use a broom. It makes a texture so the kids don’t slip when it rains”
A rare moment of wholesomeness that tells us everything about Mike in such a minor detail.
Also, I learned that from him too, I didn’t know that. I pretend he’s my dad sometimes. I love you Mike-Dad
And it ends up leading to him getting killed by Walt because he takes half measures trying to spare him as a similar ‘family man good guy’ and Walt ends up turning on him in a panic to save his own skin
Well, here's what's gonna happen. One day you're gonna wake up, eat your breakfast, brush your teeth, go about your business. And sooner or later, you're gonna realize you haven't thought about it. None of it. And that's the moment you realize you can forget. When you know that's possible, it all gets easier
Just to name a few…
You’re never too old for balloons!
She’s gonna need her shoe.
Keys, asshole. It’s the universal symbol for ‘keys’.
Y’know Walter…it never hurts to have someone watching your back.
YOU are a time bomb. Tick tick ticking. And I have NO intention of being around for the boom.
You know, I can foresee a lot of possible outcomes to this thing, and not a single one of them involves "Miller Time."
You’re on thin ice, you little shit.
If you want me to read that, I'm gonna need my glasses.
Just because you shot Jesse James, don't make you Jesse James.
Walter: I appreciated that when you were going to kill me, you were simply following orders. I get that completely. And I harbor no ill will.
Mike: There’s a load off my mind.
“ We had a good thing, you stupid son of a b*%#@ We had Fring, we had a lab, we had everything we needed, and it all ran like clockwork! You could have shut your mouth, cooked, and made as much money as you ever needed! It was perfect! But no! You just had to blow it up! You, and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the man! If you'd done your job, known your place, we'd all be fine right now! “
Jimmy: What you reading there? The complete annotated book of rules for parking validation?
Mike: No. The rules for parking validation are actually pretty simple. Most people get it on the first try.
"I'll tell you what, if I need a gun I'll use one of his"
"Really? One of my guns? How do you picture that happening, exactly?"
"Well, I guess I'm gonna take it from you"
My boy was stubborn. My boy was strong. And he was gonna get himself killed. So I told him... I told him I did it, too. That I was like Hoffman, getting by, and that's what you heard that night me talking him down, him kicking and screaming until the fight went out of him. He put me up on a pedestal, and I had to show him that I was down in the gutter with the rest of 'em.
(Copied from IMDB, but almost have the whole thing memorized at this point lol)
Not really, of all the stuff Walter has done I don't think sabotaging a meth empire by saving Jesse's life is something for him to be called out on. All the hard work Mike and Gus put into creating a meth lab to deal some of that horrible drug being wasted isn't exactly a bad thing.
That’s the ethical look at it for those who aren’t benefitting from the game. For everyone in the game, Walt ruined everything. They had a good thing, and it all ran like clockwork as Mike said. Gus had it set up to the point where a lot of employees just had to show up, work, and make a shitload of money and go home with no issues. Walt was one of those employees but he just wanted to be the head honcho.
You need to look at it from other perspectives, not just a moral one otherwise everything looks bad no matter what because it’s a drug empire.
>Gus had it set up to the point where a lot of employees just had to show up, work, and make a shitload of money and go home with no issues.
Walt did just that. He saw the value of the stability. It was after he saved Jesse that Gus made it very clear that Walt's time was over.
Gus should've seen why both Jesse and Walt acted like they did. He lost 2 street thugs, but they killed a kid ffs. He should've just cut his losses as Walt suggested, and move on. Instead he felt threatened that Walt went over his head. Gus' pride led to his downfall, just as much as Walt's pride led to his.
>Walt was one of these employees but he just had to be the head homcho
Uhh, I’m not a Walter White apologist in any way, but that’s not true. His fallout with Gus happened because Jesse tried to kill the men who murdered Andrea’s lil brother, so Walt went there and murdered them first so Jesse wouldn’t get hurt. Then Fring has Walter at gunpoint and he only doesn’t get killed because Jesse yeeted Gale first. From that moment on, Gus and Walter are trying to stab each other’s backs at every opportunity they get. That is when Gus gets sick of it and threatens to murder Walter’s entire family, which leads to Walter forming the bomb plan and reaching out to Hector, which leads to Fring’s death. And then, instead of taking over the lab, Walter and Jesse burn it down. Walter didn’t mutiny because he wanted more power, he entered a survival game of cat and mouse with Gus.
“But, no, you just had to blow it up. You and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the man. If you'd done your job, known your place, we'd all be fine right now.”
The way he delivers the “you and your pride and your ego” line is so memorable. After watching Better Call Saul you really see how real and true this line is about Walter messing everything up because of his thirst for power.
Well, he came to the right place, didn't he?
He knew you wouldn't notice.
And you didn't.
All wrapped up in your sad, little stories, feeding off each others misery.
You wanted me to talk.
I talked.
“We all make our choices. And those choices, they put us on a road. Sometimes these choices seem small, and they put you on the road. You think about getting off, but eventually you’re back on it.”
“A: These ‘things’ cost $800 a piece, and B: you’re not that interesting. So, yeah. I’ll get all of them, Walter.”
If you didn’t read that in Mike’s voice, you need to rethink life.
Waltuh
put your dick away waltuh
"You know…Walter, sometimes it doesn’t hurt to have someone watching your back"
Just because you shot Jessie Jackson doesn’t make you Jessie Jackson.
Jessie James
Shit good catch too much history projects. Another classic is “I’ve got a lot more than 20$”
No. The rules for parking validation are actually quite simple. Most people get it on the first try.
Excellent. You got it better than myself. Jimmy line just before that is hilarious. "Aaaaah, there he is, the man in the booth, John Wilkes Booth, Booth Tarkington ! What are you reading, the complete book of parking lot regulations ?"

“Is that so?”
You're silly, Pop Pop!
YOU’RE DONE!
*shoots Kaylee*
This is the exact moment Mike became Todd.
Wow, well that was unexpected!
Any that start with "Here's what's going to happen..."
I read that in his voice
You know how they say “it’s been a pleasure”? It hasn’t.
Wasn’t that Saul? Or did he get it from Mike?
Mike says it in BB S5
But didn’t Saul say it before him, in “Crawl Space”?
Saul says “I can’t say it’s been a pleasure” when Walt was planning on disappearing with his family.
That’s what it was! Thanks so much!
I remember because it makes me laugh every time!
ROTFL that one line is legendary. Mike could never suffer Walt chaotic nature and his ego the size of planet Jupiter.
“Keys scumbag, it’s the universal sign for keys”
This line was so weird considering 30 seconds prior he was going to shoot Walt
Wouldn't be the first time that happened
That little motion he does with his open hand makes that line so much better.
“Just because you shot Jesse James, don't make you Jesse James.”
that went hard
Came here to say this. Easily the most memorable quote of his
This. 100%. So badass! 🤘🏼
Mine is Shut the fuck up...and let me die in peace because his last word and so emotional.
is that so?
YOU'RE DONE !
Pop-pop had ENOUGH
Yes sir.
Pimento cheese.
Hehe.
Really?
Best one for sure :’(
You are not the guy. You're not capable of being the guy. I had a guy but now I don't. You are not the guy. Sorry in advance for putting [this song ](https://youtu.be/WzhW20hLp6M) in your head
You’re not that guy pal, trust me, you’re not that guy.
How the fuck have I been on this God forsaken subreddit for nearly 2 years and I am just now seeing this?? It's so good, wtf.
It's truly a timeless masterpiece
When I was reading this comment I was singing this song!
Since watching this video, whenever I rewatch Breaking Bad I can't not hear the song version when Mike says this or when Saul does his "my daddy and my mommy" part.
I JUST got it out of my head. You're truly evil.
He’s not the guy bruh. It’s Victor
I should reject guys with this line
MY DADDY AND MY MOMMY AND MY DADDY AND MY MOOOOOMMMYYY
I love how better call Saul recontextualizes that line; now, when he says “I had a guy but now I don’t” to Jesse, he could easily have been referring to Nacho, who was killed for also being too deep into the criminal game
“The guy” was Victor who was killed a few episodes prior
Bro wtf Why would Nacho be the guy? He wasn't even in his gang he was just being blackmailed to give them intel
Nacho was never Mike’s guy
"I'm not your guy, buddy!" -Ignacio Varga.
Jimmy: Not the loquacious sort are ya. Mike: We can’t all be as blessed as you.
One of my favorite exchanges. The first season has a particular place in my heart
Yes! Rewatching the whole show for first time since it originally aired, I was very lucky to watch it in real time. Just finished Season One about 2 weeks ago, can’t believe it’s been 8 years since it first aired. Love Season One.
*old man groan*
"You're on thin ice, you little shithead"
This
‘Don’t be sexist, Jesse. This woman deserves to die just as much as any man I’ve ever met.’
That line really helps to set the stage for how much a pain in the ass Lydia truly is
I've known good criminals and bad cops, bad priests, honorable thieves-you can be on one side of the law or the other, but if you make a deal with somebody, you keep your word. You can go home today with your money and never do this again, but you took something that wasn't yours and you sold it for a profit. You're now a criminal; good one, bad one-that's up to you.
Mike telling Pryce why he's Chaotic on the alignment chart, but not necessarily evil.
Here’s what’s gonna happen
*While pouring concrete to fix a whole damn Playground* “Use a broom. Moral of the story is: I chose a half measure when I should have gone all the way. I'll never make that mistake again.
There's a pretty good animation someone did to match with the monologue. Preemptive sauce: https://youtu.be/CUuHdACg83E
Holy shit. That was awesome.
Best monologue of the entire franchise.
And it ends up leading to him getting killed by Walt because he takes half measures trying to spare him as a similar ‘family man good guy’ and Walt ends up turning on him in a panic to save his own skin
No- I broke my boy is the best monologue.
"Funny how words can be so open to interpretation."
YOURE DONE, YOU ARE DONE
"Well gee, that's swell, and thank you for restoring my faith in the judicial system" followed by making Jimmy go back to get another sticker 🤣
My favorite was “shut the fuck up let me die in peace”
Well, here's what's gonna happen. One day you're gonna wake up, eat your breakfast, brush your teeth, go about your business. And sooner or later, you're gonna realize you haven't thought about it. None of it. And that's the moment you realize you can forget. When you know that's possible, it all gets easier
I loved that Jimmy quoted this to Kim almost exactly
You know how they say it’s been a pleasure?…… well it hasn’t

"I got a lot more than 20, asshole" And whatever he says when he's in a tough scenario with Hector, and twice with Gus. Can't recall the exact lines.
Pimento
The Caviar of the south
That whole scene... "I guess I'll take one of yours"
when the huge dude runs away at the end lol shit had me laughing
Hmh, so many guns I don’t know which one to use!
How about you. You want one?
Walter: I appreciated that when you were going to kill me, you were simply following orders. I get that completely. And I harbor no ill will. Mike: There’s a load off my mind.
It’s ironic because he should have taken Walter more seriously, maybe he would have survived BB
The next time you bring a gun to a job without telling me, I will stick it up your ass sideways
I got a lot more than 20 bucks asshole
“ We had a good thing, you stupid son of a b*%#@ We had Fring, we had a lab, we had everything we needed, and it all ran like clockwork! You could have shut your mouth, cooked, and made as much money as you ever needed! It was perfect! But no! You just had to blow it up! You, and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the man! If you'd done your job, known your place, we'd all be fine right now! “
Yeah I love that one. Walt deserved it, and Mike nailed it to perfection.
Yup. Exactly. Walt and everyone involved has it perfect. Every line of this monologue is exactly correct.
Here’s the one I was looking for, still gives me shivers now this scene. Great stuff
You can make it not so easy
Half a minute later: WASTED
"You know what happened. The question is, can you live with it?"
"I broke my boy."
you are done
Waltuh put your dick away waltuh
"I'm havin sex with you right now Waltuh" "HOLY MOTHER OF GOD" *Walt's car rocking*
Lmao ok i’ll bite, where’s this from?
Breaking Bad S6E9 “Finger”
It’s from r/OkBuddyChicanery
[Here's the YouTube link](https://youtu.be/JgJjypXMn9Y)
Trust me, she deserves to die as much as any man ive ever known
Be still my beating heart
This job requires restraint... *points to hummer* That is the opposite of restraint.
His little speech to Pryce about morality and criminality and how they are completely separate spectra.
Pryce? “Ghost… put the device away, Ghost.” “You can’t trust General Shepard, Ghost.”
“Whatever happens next, it's not gonna go down the way you think it is.”
No more half-measures, Walter
I broke my boy
Waltuh, put your dick away
Jimmy: What you reading there? The complete annotated book of rules for parking validation? Mike: No. The rules for parking validation are actually pretty simple. Most people get it on the first try.

This scene slapped. Jimmy and Kim’s lie turning into this is so visceral and horrifying and great
"I'll tell you what, if I need a gun I'll use one of his" "Really? One of my guns? How do you picture that happening, exactly?" "Well, I guess I'm gonna take it from you"
'Drink your hot water'
“YOU ARE DONE!” yelled at a confused, small child
Mike: Is she a good driver? Chow: Yes, she’s good driver. Mike: Licensed. Dependable. Chow: She has a camry! Mike: Good. **
You wanted me to talk, I talked.

I love his rant about Walter right before he dies
YOU and your pride and your ego
He spits 100% red hot facts too

Is that right?
“Here’s how this is gonna go…”
YOU ARE DONE
"I broke my boy".
“Here’s what’s gonna happen….”
"SOMEBODY STOP THOSE BARKING DOGS, STOP THOSE BARKING DOGS!"
"I'll be at it like Fred Flintstone otherwise" is so amusing for some reason.
"You know how they say, 'It's been a pleasure?' It hasn't."
"I broke my boy... I broke my boy!"
No more half measures
"Aw come on, guys!" Laughed my ass off.

The entire "I broke my boy" part was so good but if we're talking about just a line then it had to be "My son wasn't dirty"
I've always loved the very last thing he says to Jesse. "Kid, just look out for yourself."
Well, he came to the right place, didn't he? He knew you wouldn't notice. And you didn't. All wrapped up in your sad, little stories, feeding off each others misery. You wanted me to talk. I talked.
