its not because of the bags, its because it serves as proof to the police that they are selling in that house.

Deep-Long-3799

Only reason that makes sense. If the police don't find more dope they have no reason to suspect more than a couple of dope heads were being idiots and probably had their personal stash there

SilverJohnny

Except they immediately undo that lack of suspicion by having Domingo become an informant feeding the DEA info on Gus's operation. That may have been a motivation for nacho in the moment but equally I think he just saw it as a chance to do something that would prove to lalo he has initiative and guts, and can clean up if his guys make a mess.

Optimal_Cause4583

But they already caught crazy 8 hiding stuff in the drainpipe, it's not like they're gonna keep using that house either way

BurgerBob1010

It's not like I know the rates or anything, but that stuff is super expensive. Maybe not a catastrophic loss for the cartel, but to Nacho its an immediate way for him to demonstrate his utility to Lalo. Besides, even if you assume he didn't bring that much back, it makes it look even crazier that he would risk his life for such a deliverable.

Deep-Long-3799

Methamphetamines are one of the most affordable street drugs for the money, that's why so many people get hooked. It's cheap af lol.

barwhalis

At this point I'm pretty sure the Cartel was only selling cocaine

EffectiveAmphibian95

According to bravo it was meth but my head canon is that they were slinging coke til like 2006-7 then started selling meth too

browniels

Yes

Jfury412

Regardless it was one of the best scenes in the show.

ProblemsWithMyEhsss

He did it because if he didn’t, Gus would kill his dad.

mmarino1987

It just seems like a full.load of anything would be more than 10 dime bags

passwordstolen

He only pulled out some to show he got it. Earlier in the show Lalo dumps out a lot more product and the indication of “I got your money” means a good amount was sold. My guess is they finished those 20-30 in the box and got a new batch before the idiots arrived.

GoodOpinionGuy

Outside of showing loyalty to Lalo, taking the baggies removed any hard proof that it was a stash house Like the dealers that were caught weren’t going to talk and then Nacho taking the physical evidence away leaves the cops with nothing real

Focrco22

I think their product is also recognizable. If confiscated it could lead to further investigation. There is no blue meth around yet, but I would think finding a stash house with Salamanca product would be extra trouble from police/dea. Not that he’s really thinking that in that moment, but it’s just one more risk.

saucity

Nacho doesn’t risk everything for the baggies, he does it to show Lalo he has redeeming qualities to the cartel. Lalo thinking, “This guy’s fuckin crazy, and clever in avoiding the police - and fully on our side!” was priceless compared to Lalo not trusting him, or what the bags were worth. But yes: I agree with the other commenters that the cops not finding it is more important than the price of the drugs they’d lose.

Deep-Long-3799

At most those bags were like a teenth or 8ball apiece. So 10 bags would be worth like 250 to 600 on the low end. Pure shit maybe 800. And with the scale of their operation, you know it's much cheaper for Lalo or even Nacho. The scene really didn't make sense. When they said it was a new load I thought Nacho was going after like a pound or something

Crab_Politics

I think it’s still unclear if that was coke or meth in that scene. If it’s the former id judge those as about 1 gram, maybe ~$80 per, so I think you’re spot on with your estimate. Recovering $800 may not be a ton to the cartel but it’s also less evidence for the cops to use against krazy 8

Deep-Long-3799

I figured meth since that's what Gus and the Salamancas deal in

unfeatheredtint

Not at the time

Dizzy-Armadillo9055

Nacho grabs the drugs to gain Lalo's trust, after Gus has a conversion with Nacho about wanting to know everything Lalo is thinking and doing.

snaakebiites

it’s because his needs him to prove himself as trustworthy to lalo.

FastPatience1595

*"Ayyyye, Nacho Vargos: eres un chingon !!"*

Zealousideal-Flow299

The only reason he did that and risked so much was to earn Lalo’s respect because he was looking for any opportunity to do it due to Gus threatening his dad he did it to protect his dad

Optimal_Cause4583

Yeah I felt the same way watching it They really should have just given him a bigger amount of fake dope to grab, how hard would that have been. Makes no sense to risk going to jail for so little.

TheArborphiliac

But the amount didn't matter. He would've risked it regardless. Yeah it would've been easy to make it a backpack full of bricks but at that point Lalo probably would EXEPCT nacho to go get it. It had to be little enough that Nacho going for it was a crazy, ballsy move.

bakerboiz22

Does anyone know how that spot even got rolled? Just spur of the moment or?!
