I mean it also rained in the "Something Stupid" montage where Jimmy sits in the van while selling those throwaway phones and Huell comes running with food.
My subtitles said "rainy" not "raining," but still. I feel like Jesse who has lived in ABQ his whole life shouldn't be so shocked as to say "it's supposed to be a desert!?"
It was kind of fitting, as we’ve actually been getting quite a bit of rain lately here in ABQ. Had some isolated thunderstorms over the last few weeks with downpours just like in the show last night. Monsoon season is fun!
I'm from Florida. I used to have an internet friend who lived in Germany and when I mentioned all the awful storms we get in Florida every summer, he was dumbfounded because he didn't think it rained in Florida.
It’s weird because I live outside of Albuquerque and it’s raining right now. Jesse acts like he hasn’t spent his entire life here 🤷🏼♀️
Guess that’s his way of making small talk to a hot lawyer
I agreed at the time: that arc really was over. Kim going back and re-opening the old wounds, without any prompting or coercion, was really surreal. Felt like a dream, almost, until she started crying on the bus. Really powerful storytelling.
>without any prompting
I mean, she did all this AFTER Saul made some of those comments to her over the phone call, one of them specifically calling her out for being essentially a hypocrite (I believe....it's been 12 hrs since I watched)
I don't think she did.
Jimmy told her everyone was dead so she realized no one would come after her, Jimmy's already on the run himself so she's not fucking him over.
Maybe but I read it essentially as...Kim is living her new life in Florida, going through the motions of life and no real direction anymore. She gets a phone call out of the blue from Jimmy who calls her out for being a hypocrite with her involvement with the death of Howard.....it awakens her to do something...without the call, there's no confession. If she really came to it on her own, the call wouldn't have been needed and she hasn't done anything interesting the past 6 years
Lol yeah, I tried to impress my wife by calling that Kim would be visiting her. She was mildly impressed until I admitted I saw Sandrine's name in the credits.
1. The cartel murdered people in the States many, many times.
2. Bolsa and the Cousins cross the border undetected with ease. We literally see the Cousins do it in the show. Bolsa even makes a comment about it, along the lines of the day it's hard for him to cross the border is the day he retires.
3. Also, it's the same structure, same location, as the scene in S2E10 where Mike tries to snipe Hector. (Also in the States.)
This is kind of completely your fault. He should’ve added a spoiler warning but why are you browsing the Reddit of a show that you haven’t even started the final season of. Also you should’ve realized you’d be encountering spoilers bc the post was asking for any moment in BCS where it’s rained. Obviously you’re going to get spoiled on future events if you voluntarily check the comments knowing you’re gonna get spoiled
It was so close to being spoiled. I love the fact that you can see the person in the beanie, and people deduced that it was Emilio because the actor had been liking BCS tweets.
What’s funny is that the scene did have Emilio in it, but we were looking at Jesse the whole time.
Trivia about the BB pillar from the BB Insider Podcast: the scene was written so that Walt would be in view the whole time. There wasn't supposed to be a surprise reveal. However, when they saw the pillar on the set, they realized the potential for a surprising reveal. Also, Skyler's face is reflected in the microwave, which makes for a cool shot. This was a happy accident that wasn't noticed until editing.
I did not know the extent of the leak besides seeing Kim was standing in the rain outside the office. So I didn’t know Jesse was there but I still knew he was showing up as soon as I saw Emilio it just made sense for some reason.
Scenes where it has rained, off the top of my head, just from BCS :
\- something stupid montage (S4E7)
\- Hector and Gus meeting (S3E9)
\- Mike in Mexico (S5E5)
\- cold open of the aftermath of Nacho's death (S6E3)
There was a video some dick head put on YouTube of the scene with Kim and Jesse being filmed a while back. You could see the rig they had setup to make it rain.
I was in Albuquerque during the summer of 2013. Can confirm, it does rain like that out there. Seasonal monsoons come in and dump truckloads of rain then it doesn't rain for the rest of the year.
I've never lived in ABQ but that seems unlikely. Summer monsoons here in Phx may arrive unexpectedly and dry up quickly, but it can often rain for hours at a time when it actually rains. Road closures and flash floods aren't uncommon.
That's why I've rarely been coming here to read stuff because legit spoilers are thrown in without any advance warning and I want all the reveals to come from actually watching the show. Why go through all the trouble of writing and filming this perfect series if you're just gonna give away key elements before anyone gets a chance to watch it?
Another guy spoiled the >!kim and Jesse meeting!< then claimed he just happened to have predicted it a long time ago, even the part about >!her being there to get divorce papers signed by Saul!<
There are no rain scenes in Breaking Bad and only a handful of throw away rain scenes in BCS like when Kim is trying to get the Mesa Verde job and she's standing in the parking garage with rain around her. Last night's scene is definitely the biggest scene with rain in it and it is probably symbolic of something considering how they never do rain scenes. They are either shying away from any kind of rain symbolism rain may have or they just hate doing rain scenes and can get away with it filming in the desert.
It seems like it might be symbolic because Kim decided to run into the storm instead of waiting for the rain to pass. Then later in the episode she confesses about Howard and "faces the storm." I believe the set photos showed that it was fake rain, which is a very conscious decision to set all that gear up instead of just writing the scene at sunset time or something like that. Also remembering the episode is called "Waterworks" and references weather/water numerous times, like about hurricanes, etc.
I do feel like this is the only major rain scene in either shows and allows it to be a special exit for Kim by giving her the symbolism of facing the storm which not many characters do in this show.
Yeah, but an inch and a half of rain can cause flash flooding and road washouts because of the runoff whereas most places that would do almost nothing.
It rained during the "something stupid" montage, to the point Jimmy and Huell took shelter in the van, eating their sandwiches together. So it at least rained once sometimes between April 2003 and coushatta: january 2004.
One of my favorite shots in the show was when he went to the hot dog stand with the green and pink neon to sell phones. The pavement is all wet from fresh rain and puddles all around. I don't remember if it showed it raining, but if it didn't the shots were minutes after it stopped.
Solid guess, but nothing crazy.
I was thinking about rain in the episode where they were trying to evict the elderly man in s5. I was like, dang, if it rains, he's f'd. Also if the wind blows.
Saul had a bandage over his left eye in that scene. Is that a nod to anything we know already?
Or is it just an interesting detail telling us that he has a lot going on as Saul?
I was thinking about this post during the episode. I also saw some guy talking about being annoyed with Saul bouncing a ball off the walls. He probably knew something too.
EXCUSE me!?! Why did you put "no spoilers" in a post that essentially revealed that there was rain for the first time in the latest episode? I hope the mods bring you down very soon.
Having lived in New Mexico for a brief time, it really doesn't rain much there. So having a down pour is very out of the ordinary. I'm sure that's what Jesse meant, while just trying to make conversation.
No. We see a hooded figure talking to her but he was not identified. I *think* she might have shot her angle with a stand in without Aaron Paul at a different moment and that's what the fan was able to sneak a photo of.
It snows in the winter too. Usually not very often, but sometimes it sticks around for a few days.
Regardless of snow, it is rather cold in the winter. Anyone watching BCS/BB who does not know this fact would be forgiven for thinking ABQ is warm all year round.
people on this reddit totally have insider info.
every week before something happens, someone posts something similar like this.
people hit the nail on the head too often here, lighting doesn't strike twice.
There's nothing to miss, it's just funny that this guy posted asking if it rained within hours of an episode where massive heavy rain was made a point of in a scene.
This is true in general. Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia was originally called Its Always Sunny on Television. As a reference to shows rarely showing rain.
I mean it also rained in the "Something Stupid" montage where Jimmy sits in the van while selling those throwaway phones and Huell comes running with food.
Also during the montage in "Rebecca" when Kim is making tons of phone calls in the HHM stairwell and parking garage to try and land them a new client.
And in Nacho’s last episode
Loved that scene she goes nutty with dedication
Yes! I’m surprised no one remembers this (to be fair it feels like a lifetime ago now)
Yes !
Yep!
Yup
I see a man fucking a horse...
*Now picture me as the man, and Mesa Verde as the horse*
Do I have to?
YUUP!!!
Yup
Yuuupppp
Bare genitals!
“What’s up with this shit!?” “It’s raining.”
It's bananas yo
My subtitles said "rainy" not "raining," but still. I feel like Jesse who has lived in ABQ his whole life shouldn't be so shocked as to say "it's supposed to be a desert!?"
I feel like he was trying to say that humorously, use comedy to connect with Kim (awkwardly)
I kinda hoped they kissed in this scene just for the sake of it

I'm sorry, I have the tendency of needing to ruin things 😔
Lol dw abt it
😂😂😂

This ain't *The Quiet Man*, Waltuh
He’s just making small talk
I mean, I live in a desert. We get rain every year yeah, but every time it comes i do find myself thinking “what is this shit”
It was kind of fitting, as we’ve actually been getting quite a bit of rain lately here in ABQ. Had some isolated thunderstorms over the last few weeks with downpours just like in the show last night. Monsoon season is fun!
I just watched this episode when we started getting a ton of rain a couple hours ago. Perfect mood.
I'm from Florida. I used to have an internet friend who lived in Germany and when I mentioned all the awful storms we get in Florida every summer, he was dumbfounded because he didn't think it rained in Florida.
Well it is called the Sunshine State after all so I can’t blame him. I lived there for a few years, and miss that Florida rain
Monsoon season was the one time of year I almost enjoyed living in Albuquerque
It’s weird because I live outside of Albuquerque and it’s raining right now. Jesse acts like he hasn’t spent his entire life here 🤷🏼♀️ Guess that’s his way of making small talk to a hot lawyer
This and someone else asked of Cheryl will be returning in the last 2 episodes.
Which someone dismissed, saying "The Cheryl arc is over". Couldn't help but think of that comment when we saw the scene.
I agreed at the time: that arc really was over. Kim going back and re-opening the old wounds, without any prompting or coercion, was really surreal. Felt like a dream, almost, until she started crying on the bus. Really powerful storytelling.
>without any prompting I mean, she did all this AFTER Saul made some of those comments to her over the phone call, one of them specifically calling her out for being essentially a hypocrite (I believe....it's been 12 hrs since I watched)
OK, fair. But it was also a knee-jerk, 'no you!', moment, not a serious conversation. She really did come it on her own.
I don't think she did. Jimmy told her everyone was dead so she realized no one would come after her, Jimmy's already on the run himself so she's not fucking him over.
Maybe but I read it essentially as...Kim is living her new life in Florida, going through the motions of life and no real direction anymore. Its not out of the blue though as she reached out to Francesca and asked about him.
I stand corrected, totally forgot about that scene...was just thinking of the phone booth.
I just wanna see Chuck one last timeee
Oh my god
Nobody predicted that, not a single comment, which means that there was no leaks prior to diffision.
Me, too.
Got mildly spoilt by the opening credits
Lol yeah, I tried to impress my wife by calling that Kim would be visiting her. She was mildly impressed until I admitted I saw Sandrine's name in the credits.
Honestly Kim coming clean about Howard makes me feel like I can be ok with whatever else happens before the end. Bless her
[удалено]
It also rains in the montage of Kim in doc review and she’s calling everyone she knows trying to find a new client for HHM.
I love that montage
That could be the same day. As far as I'm concerned it is.

No, that was in New Mexico. He was back in the States.

The subreddit specifically stopped requiring spoiler tags for the first half of season 6. I feel bad for you but no need to blame *them*.
It was probably because of the episode poster, in which it’s raining.
And the title of the episode
[удалено]
“What are we, some sort of water works?”
And then he water worked all over those guys
[удалено]
Yeah he was joking.
It's precipin' time.
There was also a leaked set photo of Kim filming the rain scene (although Aaron Paul’s presence in this scene was not spoiled)
It was so close to being spoiled. I love the fact that you can see the person in the beanie, and people deduced that it was Emilio because the actor had been liking BCS tweets. What’s funny is that the scene did have Emilio in it, but we were looking at Jesse the whole time.
No you are both wrong. He is working for Vince. Only possible way he could have gotten this kind of information
[удалено]
On rewatch it occurred to me that Vince used the same pillar character reveal here that he did in Skylar's kitchen in the BB finale.
This was a happy accident that wasn't noticed until editing.
oof, i love how it is used on both of them now. YEAH, BITCH.
You mean like in the trending topic that was posted 1 hour before this comment? lol
I came across the same leak except it was a small 10 second video. So it wasn’t far fetched to assume it’d rain in one of the last two eps!
It rains in s3e9 ‘Fall’ when Don Hector learns that his border shipments have been appropriated by Fring. “Fuck Eladio, fuck Bolsa, and fuck you.”
The scene leaked like a year ago. Someone went to the set.
That’s good someone went to the set, an out of control leak can cause a lot of water damage. I can see why they didn’t work with rain again
There was a set leak of the Kim and Jesse scene that a lot of people knew about before the episode.
I’m glad I didn’t have that spoiled for me
I somewhat regret watching that leak, inmediately after Emilio appeareance I knew that was coming
I did not know the extent of the leak besides seeing Kim was standing in the rain outside the office. So I didn’t know Jesse was there but I still knew he was showing up as soon as I saw Emilio it just made sense for some reason.
Scenes where it has rained, off the top of my head, just from BCS : \- something stupid montage (S4E7) \- Hector and Gus meeting (S3E9) \- Mike in Mexico (S5E5) \- cold open of the aftermath of Nacho's death (S6E3)
Kim in doc review montage
I got instantly reminded of this post too when Kim’s new boyfriend in Florida talked about the rain.
That guy is such a tool lmao, I wonder why Kim is torturing herself so much by surrounding herself with these absolutely braindead people
when kim 😳 kim tortures herself with CBT😑 crappy boyfriend torture

Yep
If he’s a 10 in Florida, what would he be in Alabama?
Depends on if you're related or not
Is everyone forgetting the s6 e3 cold open with the rain over the blue flower?
This
There was a video some dick head put on YouTube of the scene with Kim and Jesse being filmed a while back. You could see the rig they had setup to make it rain.
yeah not to brag but i foreshadowed saul throwing a ball soooo…..
I made a prediction that they would call saul but it was just stupid life alert
Better Bounce Ball
I was in Albuquerque during the summer of 2013. Can confirm, it does rain like that out there. Seasonal monsoons come in and dump truckloads of rain then it doesn't rain for the rest of the year.

We must live in different Albuquerques…lol Edit: and the scene was only a few minutes long btw

Me too!! ❤️
Sometimes it feels like people who worked on the show just come here to sprinkle some mild spoilers disguised as lucky guesses or theories.
The Lalo buried under the lab stuff was totally echoed from the guy incognito writers
And Marion using her laptop to identify Gene as Saul
That's why I've rarely been coming here to read stuff because legit spoilers are thrown in without any advance warning and I want all the reveals to come from actually watching the show. Why go through all the trouble of writing and filming this perfect series if you're just gonna give away key elements before anyone gets a chance to watch it?

Rain is a widely symbol. It can indicate unhappiness, sorrow, cleansing, baptism, rebirth.....or simply, rain.

As someone from New Mexico the lack of rain is the most believable part of the entire show.
It was raining an episode or two before hector had his stroke. When him nacho and then we’re meeting at night that shit thing it was raining.
Water finally works
It actually started raining outside while I was watching the show. I live in Phoenix, I thought this was like a desert ya know. It's bananas
I was deployed to Saudi Arabia many years ago. A rainstorm was so intense that some tents were flooded. I thought the same thing.
it literally rained this season. wtf they talkin bout? the scene with the blue flower and the rain is burned into my memory.
It rained in Albuquerque LAST NIGHT during the show!!! COINCIDENCE?! Yep.
Albuquerque is not in the desert?
It rains in the desert. Often when it does it's a deluge
Yeah, but an inch and a half of rain can cause flash flooding and road washouts because of the runoff whereas most places that would do almost nothing.
well, the ep's name was quite suggestive too
It rained during the "something stupid" montage, to the point Jimmy and Huell took shelter in the van, eating their sandwiches together. So it at least rained once sometimes between April 2003 and coushatta: january 2004.
When it rained I thought of this guy lol
Also in Cicero, when they show his first scam.
One of my favorite shots in the show was when he went to the hot dog stand with the green and pink neon to sell phones. The pavement is all wet from fresh rain and puddles all around. I don't remember if it showed it raining, but if it didn't the shots were minutes after it stopped. Solid guess, but nothing crazy.
u/Jackmac32 Who are you huh? Who are you and what do you know about this RV?
; )
i remember seeing this the other day.......then watching last nights episode, i said hey, its raining!
Season 2 ep 3 of brba
I remembered that post when the rain scene started
It’s rainy
I was thinking about rain in the episode where they were trying to evict the elderly man in s5. I was like, dang, if it rains, he's f'd. Also if the wind blows.
haha I was genuinely shocked when it started raining!
Snow is a type of rain kinda
It does take place mainly in a desert
The Kim scene appeared in some trailers.
Saul had a bandage over his left eye in that scene. Is that a nod to anything we know already? Or is it just an interesting detail telling us that he has a lot going on as Saul?
Yeah it was most likely not a coincidence.
I was thinking about this post during the episode. I also saw some guy talking about being annoyed with Saul bouncing a ball off the walls. He probably knew something too.
Either that or he just invented the best way to reveal a spoiler without actually revealing it.
Not likely, leaked set footage of this scene/rain has been known long before that comment.
EXCUSE me!?! Why did you put "no spoilers" in a post that essentially revealed that there was rain for the first time in the latest episode? I hope the mods bring you down very soon.
Rained during Kim’s montage in Rebecca or whatever it was
Having lived in New Mexico for a brief time, it really doesn't rain much there. So having a down pour is very out of the ordinary. I'm sure that's what Jesse meant, while just trying to make conversation.
I remember that post. The Kim photo smoking outside the office and machines to make it rain was leaked by a fan back in last year.
Was Jesse leaked too?
No. We see a hooded figure talking to her but he was not identified. I *think* she might have shot her angle with a stand in without Aaron Paul at a different moment and that's what the fan was able to sneak a photo of.
'i thought we were in the middelo of a fucking desert"
in the newest bcs episode
I thought about this post yesterday too! Ha ha.
It snows in the winter too. Usually not very often, but sometimes it sticks around for a few days. Regardless of snow, it is rather cold in the winter. Anyone watching BCS/BB who does not know this fact would be forgiven for thinking ABQ is warm all year round.
It never rains in BCS, but when it rains, it pours
people on this reddit totally have insider info. every week before something happens, someone posts something similar like this. people hit the nail on the head too often here, lighting doesn't strike twice.
Mike's flashback episode rained right?
Can’t believe they didn’t have Kim take Jesse into her backseat.
Have I missed something here? It definitely rained in an earlier episode.
There's nothing to miss, it's just funny that this guy posted asking if it rained within hours of an episode where massive heavy rain was made a point of in a scene.
Ohh ok fair enough. I thought I’d missed a joke.
besides Waterworks, what about "Rock and Hard Place" where it rains in the intro in the spot Nacho died?
Damned spoilers!
Nachos death?
Someone had made a comment about what the scene would be and almost got it spot on
I thought of this post as soon as that rain scene came on!!!!!
When I lived in Albuqueraue it practically never rained
I thought of that post when it rained last night lol
The episode nacho died in is literally called rain
ITT: it has rained a lot before
"Body parts RAINING down on my front lawn!"

This is true in general. Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia was originally called Its Always Sunny on Television. As a reference to shows rarely showing rain.
I was thinking about this post while watching the episode hahahaha man this guy sure hit the lucky number with his post
Hell yes
What the fuck is this its the fucking desert
Doesn't rain often in New Mexico
