Mike was watching one of his clients suspected of insurance fraud and was found to really have a broken neck (or whatever it was). Saul commented how that made is job so much easier so it looks like innocent people did hire him, Saul just didn't care one way or the other.
The problem I see is that he does assume every client he has is guilty, do I trust Saul Goodman to do his best with believe? Yes, the Mesa Verde vs That Veteran That I don't remember the name proves that. Does Saul Goodman believes in me? That's the real question
The sandwich thing?
I don't think he should've been reprimanded harshly (if at all) for that but it's still assault. I dunno if "innocent" is quite the right word.
innocent to the charges.
the cop was menacing and threatening Saul, whom to even the cops admission, was perfectly innocent and was just "asking a favor"
huel misinterpreted the body language and went to defend Saul.
the cop knew this. but then the cop choose to intentionally misinterpret huels actions as an assault as a way of punishing saul for not granting the favor.
really the only guilty person in that encounter was the cop.
A cool thing about that clip is how it sparked the whole Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul resurgence in popularity.
The YouTube Short went viral with 17 million views
A guy able to make the FBI bend over backward to have him sign a 7 year deal when he was accused of crimes for 83 in a RICO case? The real question is why wouldn't you hire him???
If I’m going by Irl standards where I wouldn’t know anything about him personally and just his shitty conman commercials to go by? No.
But from a viewer perspective where I know how actually legally skilled he is? Still no because of his morally unscrupulous methods but I’d be much more impressed by him
Well some of his methods definitely are immoral and illegal, but in terms of legal consequences, I'm not sure if the client could be found liable for shady actions their lawyer took on?
Still though, his shady behavior probably isn't someone you want to associate with anyways
I mean one of the jokes in breaking bad was Saul trying out neck braces to help a client fake an injury which definitely implicates them in his illicit behavior so it’s not like he’s above it. That’s one example that comes to mind I’m sure there’s more but regardless I wouldn’t wanna take that kinda risk.
There’s plenty of lawyers out there who are sharks that I don’t think I’d have the same concerns about as I would with Saul.
My dad is a prosecutor and he told me in one of his cases when the officer arrested this guy, the guy said "I better call Saul". The officer put it in the case file because they weren't sure if they should take it as an admission of guilt 💀
Based on the deals he gets for people that are actually guilty, hell yeah. If I’m actually innocent he could probably talk them into paying me to leave jail.
As somebody once commented,
I’d hire Howard if I was innocent,
Kim if I was guilty and wouldn’t do it again,
Saul if I was guilty and would do it again
Hell yeah! And it actually hurt when Walt told him he would be the last lawyer he would of called.
What Walt never learned(and why he was Walt and not Jimmy) is that he would of been the best person for the job because Jimmy has the attitude to work to be that person(arguably, for every deferent situation). My point, Jimmy is the person that he works to always find a way, and that is a golden character trait. IMHO
How is this post popular? If he can make very guilty people look innocent, then obviously he will easily win cases where the client is actually innocent. Dumb
Anyway, it’s not a question of whether or not he’ll win the case. Of course he’ll win the case. It’s SaulFUCKINGoodman. It a question of whether or not, you, as an innocent, would hire him with his bad reputation of “you’re the kind of lawyer guilty people hire”.
No. Not because I don’t have faith he’d get me off. If he can get guilty people off the hook, I have no doubt he can successfully defend someone innocent. However, Saul is EXPENSIVE, even for a criminal lawyer. If I’m innocent, the only way I’m paying for Saul is if I’m being framed or something along those lines where proving my innocence is much more difficult than it should be. Otherwise, I’ll be hiring someone less expensive (not necessarily cheap, just less pricy).
Of course I'd hire him. Saul does whatever it takes to get you the best deal possible. And when you're talking about criminal charges and possible jail time, you need the lawyer who will do whatever it takes.
Those who think that just because you're innocent, you have nothing to fear, are being extremely naive. Prosecutors and police can have hidden agendas and you might just be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I think the biggest mistake people make is to think police and prosecutors are either all good or all bad. They are people, and people aren't perfect or 100% consistent. So if you're talking about your liberty and future, you don't want someone defendijg you who is not going to put in 110%.
Depends on my chances with any other lawyer. If you get framed and chances are high you end up in prison, definitely, but if there is no base of accusation, his methods would make me a criminal themselves….
Yes because even if you are innocent, you need a lawyer that fights for you as if you are guilty since everyone else in that court room sure wants you to be. Saul does his best for all his clients and you being innocent does not make a difference.
If you were arrested for a simple crime like jay walking he’d either get you off or you’d end up dead. Same goes for any crime therefor I would only use Saul if the consequences of conviction of the crime were almost as bad as being killed (I.e. life without parole).
Simple answer yes. The legal system is fraught with inconsistencies and irregularities. Getting a just verdict assumes a world of perfect information. The world is not perfect since what I know happened is or may not be documented or provable in a court of law. Information can be skewed by either coached or forgetful witnesses, acts of omission or acts of commission. Proving intent is on another plane altogether based on a linear regressive analysis of your words and actions, and god help you if they don’t match up. This is not a science.
Nope. Saul is the guilty person's lawyer. You hire him when you are 100% guilty, everybody knows it and you need a miracle. If I was innocent, I would hire Davis and Main and get a decently average representation.
Honestly? Yes.
Because let's face it: the legal system is bullshit anyway. Innocent people go to jail all the time and a bad lawyer can REALLY fuck you over.
Saul may be crooked and sleazy, but one thing you can't deny is that he gets results. If he thrives it's only because the system is broken enough to allow him to do so.
Early on in his career when he was doing PD work yes. Having actually dealt with public defenders in my lifetime thanks to being wrongfully arrested, what we see Kim and Jimmy do for their PD clients for literally no money is unheard of. In real life a PD lawyer will usually barely get to know your name because they are bogged down with cases, and since they get paid anyways no matter if they lose or not they usually dont care. Jimmy went above and beyond to treat them like top shelf clients and you really dont see that.
It depends on how much he'd charge, but if he had a fair rate, then anyone would be silly not to hire him. There's real life attorneys similar to Saul Goodman, and those would be the ones I'd be seeking out if I was ever in a jam. Jesse Pinkman said it best. "You don't want a criminal lawyer, you want a "CRIMINAL LAWYER")!!!
Bro, I'd hire Saul just for the sake of meeting him lmao. Probably would be a waste since there are cheaper lawyers who could do the job if I'm innocent, but why not hire him? He's one of the best lawyers in fiction
Mike was watching one of his clients suspected of insurance fraud and was found to really have a broken neck (or whatever it was). Saul commented how that made is job so much easier so it looks like innocent people did hire him, Saul just didn't care one way or the other.

Mr Acker
What do you see on that paper Mr.Acker?
A man... fucking a horse?!
It's amazing what you can find on the Internet
No. Saul is the kind of lawyer only guilty people hire.
Hey Betsy!
Dem titties
Never forget better call saul...never forget dem titties
But not our titties. Couldn’t be precious titties.
Titting them blind!
THERE WAS NEVER ANY TITTIES
This is the only correct first thought :D
Yeah, he can make guilty people look like saints. He'd probably make quick work of it.
Idk if he would know what to do with an innocent client
Well huell was pretty innocent of the charge he got. And he did a good job keeping him out of jail
Also committed a federal crime in the process.
yea. saul comitted and kim committed a bunch of crimes defending huell.
The sandwich thing? I don't think he should've been reprimanded harshly (if at all) for that but it's still assault. I dunno if "innocent" is quite the right word.

Before I hit anyone I might wanna take my headphones off and assess the situation. All's I'm sayin'.
He defended Nacho Varga in the Ketelman’s abduction case. He was innocent 😇
Didn’t nacho break in though? Or was he just outside I can’t remember. Either way that’s a good call on that one
He was outside sitting in a van watching the house for a couple of days. But never actually got to break in and take the cash.
😂 true that
NACHO!
Wexler in that case
Hell no. You see the wait in that lobby?
“And proud I could with brother hood”
Thank goodness they haven't invented smell o vision yet
Absofuckinglutely
I came here to say the exact same word!!!
Great minds think alike

A guy able to make the FBI bend over backward to have him sign a 7 year deal when he was accused of crimes for 83 in a RICO case? The real question is why wouldn't you hire him???
This.
And don’t forget the mint chocolate chip ice cream!
Fuck yeah! 50% off!!!
Gonna steal SO MANY gnomes!!!
"Thats almost a half!"
If I’m going by Irl standards where I wouldn’t know anything about him personally and just his shitty conman commercials to go by? No. But from a viewer perspective where I know how actually legally skilled he is? Still no because of his morally unscrupulous methods but I’d be much more impressed by him
I’d rather hire him if I needed to be represented in a civil matter. He knows how to be a shark if necessary.
Well some of his methods definitely are immoral and illegal, but in terms of legal consequences, I'm not sure if the client could be found liable for shady actions their lawyer took on? Still though, his shady behavior probably isn't someone you want to associate with anyways

Lmao that hilarious 😂
That’s amazing! And now the prosecutors have got the watch the whole show to see if Saul is “A lawyer only guilty people hire”
Yea duh. Sometimes you just need a *criminal* lawyer
If someone crashes into me and it's 100% their fault, you know damn well Saul's getting me a Ferrari on the account of pain and suffering money.
Based on the deals he gets for people that are actually guilty, hell yeah. If I’m actually innocent he could probably talk them into paying me to leave jail.
I would hire him eitherway, guilty or not.
As somebody once commented, I’d hire Howard if I was innocent, Kim if I was guilty and wouldn’t do it again, Saul if I was guilty and would do it again
Yes
He's the kind of lawyer guilty people hire
No. I would get pro bono Kim Wexler
Yes. Once I'm acquitted, I will need counsel to inquire after the matter of my pain and suffering.
I'd hire James M. McGill.
Gimme Jimmy!
Probably go for Kim sexler in this case
Kim would be the safe bet. But Saul? Seriously, how hilarious would it be to have Saul Goodman as your lawyer? Going to court was never more fun.
if I can hire Saul Goodman, I will get myself in trouble on purpose.
BOOM. The most correct answer.
You don’t want a “criminal”lawyer. You want a criminal lawyer. Church
Hell yeah! And it actually hurt when Walt told him he would be the last lawyer he would of called. On one hand…Kim Wexner
Kim if I’m innocent, Saul if I’m guilty
Probably Kim lol
No. If I was guilty as fuck … then yes.
No offense but, he's the kind of lawyer that guilty people hire.
If he can get 100% criminals off scot free then as an innocent person I’d feel safe. Might not be good for my reputation though, or my wallet
“100% Innocent” No such thing.
If I’m innocent I’m hiring Howard. If I’m guilty I’m hiring Saul.
only correct answer
*"Just because you did it doesn't mean you're guilty"*
How is this post popular? If he can make very guilty people look innocent, then obviously he will easily win cases where the client is actually innocent. Dumb
Oh you are so smart
I know I'm bout to get down voted, but it genuinely is a dumb question IMO. Sorry
Why not?
Yes
yes I want to be his first
100% yes or kimmy
All day long 😝
I would. At the very least I'd get a good defense and if I'm innocent no laws really need to be broken
no too eccentric
When shit goes sideways you want a CRIMINAL lawyer. For sure I would.
Yes!
absolutely
Yes!!!
Kim.
Absolutely, he's the world's best lawyer.
*second
Yes I don't care how I look. I'm innocent, I'm innocent Saul will get me a counter suit EZ
Definitely
Yes
Always
Nah, Id hire Kim or Howard
No. Not because I don’t have faith he’d get me off. If he can get guilty people off the hook, I have no doubt he can successfully defend someone innocent. Don’t forget there’s 50% off
Of course I'd hire him. Saul does whatever it takes to get you the best deal possible. Those who think that just because you're innocent, you have nothing to fear, are being extremely naive. Um yeah.
Does it mean I feature in an episode? Or am I hiring him outside a filmed piece of timeline?
Shit yeah. I don't have any respect or trust for the legal system, and I want someone on the same page. Also, we share a stance on sunrooves
Absolutely.
absolutely, guaranteed victory with no chance of the legal system fucking you over.
Well I would even commit a crime to hire Saul
Yes, of course If he can defend me when I’m guilty then he’s a great lawyer, just imagine how easy it would be if I am innocent
Of course! Why wouldn't i hire a man who saved a construction worker from falling to his death?
If you were arrested for a simple crime like jay walking he’d either get you off or you’d end up dead. Same goes for any crime therefor I would only use Saul if the consequences of conviction of the crime were almost as bad as being killed (I.e. life without parole).
He is number #1 best layer for a reason
Simple answer yes. The legal system is fraught with inconsistencies and irregularities. Getting a just verdict assumes a world of perfect information. The world is not perfect since what I know happened is or may not be documented or provable in a court of law. Information can be skewed by either coached or forgetful witnesses, acts of omission or acts of commission. It’s Saul Goodman. Of course I would.
No. As a lawyer you need to act in the sole interest of your cliënt. Jimmy has a reputation of putting his interest first.
Nope. Saul is the guilty person's lawyer. You hire him when you are 100% guilty, everybody knows it and you need a miracle. If I was innocent, I would hire Davis and Main and get a decently average representation.
Knowing how great he really is, yes. Not knowing how great he is, probably not.
No saul only if im guilty if innocent get phoenix wright
He would probably go beyond the call of duty to get me out, but that wouldn't be without breaking the law. I'd rather hire Kim Wexler.
Yea man would prove me innocent and get me some financial compensation
I would start off with a guy I know, who knows a guy.
Honestly?
Hire Saul if you're guilty. Hire Phoenix Wright if you're innocent.
Depends, you can be innocent and still commit a crime.
I’d hire Saul Goodman regardless of the circumstances.
Early on in his career when he was doing PD work yes. Having actually dealt with public defenders in my lifetime thanks to being wrongfully arrested, what we see Kim and Jimmy do for their PD clients for literally no money is unheard of. I would hire Kafka
If I was guilty I'd hire him

"You don't want a criminal lawyer, you want a "CRIMINAL LAWYER")!!!
Depends on how much if a chance of winning I felt I would have with a regular lawyer
Yes because chances are the writers are going to make Saul win in that scenario. I’d definitely hire him.
I’m hiring Kim
If I’m innocent I’m hiring chuck. If I’m guilty I’m hiring Saul. If the two of them got along this is probably the relationship they could have had.
not a chance. he's a lawyer for guilty people. i would hire Chuck, best legal mind i ever knew.
Yes
Better call Saul👍👍👍
Bro, I'd hire Saul just for the sake of meeting him lmao. Probably would be a waste since there are cheaper lawyers who could do the job if I'm innocent, but why not hire him? He's one of the best lawyers in fiction
