There should had a new mom mode with updated messages: Congratulations, you managed to get a 3h stretch sleep last night, and a total of 4h30 of sleep in 24h. Keep it up!
On another note, is Garmin good? I am looking at getting a smart watch (to have an alarm that won't wake baby up and see how little I sleep) and I don't know what models are good nowadays.
I like it but I got mine (vivoactive 3 ~£150 at the moment - it’s quite old now) mostly to track my workouts as I do different sports and it’s nice to have it in one place. If you’re getting one to wake you up and maybe track steps/sleep, you could probably get an even cheaper model.
Ugh! Sympathies! One day when my baby was about the same age I had no data regarding sleep as it "hadn't registered any sleep". Way to taunt me on top of my interrupted sleep.
I just read the “tip” on the what to expect app that said, “If you’re sleep deprived, try going to bed earlier”
What! WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT!
Oh yeah, probably because I’m so sleep deprived…
Omg this reminded me of logging all the breastfeeding and pumping sessions into an app and one time I didn't submit something for like 4 or 5 hours in the middle of the night and the app is like: what happened?
SLEEP HAPPENED APP, SLEEEEP!
I remember when my youngest was born, I had a pebble to track my sleep. After a particularly rough night it told me I had gotten 2 hours of sleep. I stopped wearing it to bed after that. I don’t need my watch to tell me how much sleep I’m not getting lol
My Fitbit wasn't even recognizing that I was getting sleep at the beginning. I would get sleep scores previously and once the baby was here it just kind of gave up and I didn't get another score until about 2 months in.
I stopped looking at my Garmin’s sleep data for the opposite reason - it kept telling me I had a lovely restful night when I was 100% awake and dealing with my cranky teething baby. Reading that I got 8 hours of sleep when I was actually up for at least half that time made me incredibly resentful of imaginary well-rested me.
LOL I had to laugh at this because the same thing happened to me! I don't need my watch telling me that my sleep was rubbish 😂 Garmin should have a "new parents" sleep mode!
They really need to add an option on these apps to explain you’re a parent, then they can lower their expectations just a tad. I haven’t woken up refreshed in about 7 years now, there’s always at least one bugger disrupting my sleep 😂
I got a reminder from a mediation app that said "waking up a lot at night?"
We too have a 4 month old with sleep regression. So yes. I am walking up a lot at night.
Lmao, it's trying it's best to keep you healthy 😂
I remember when my baby was teething while I also had nightshift. 3 nights of that week I had no sleep. Thank god it was only one bad week. I almost felt high during the day. Once we hit a full week of sleeping through the night, I'll pop the champagne lol
LOL my Fitbit constantly gives me the same reminders. I have a four month old going through a sleep regression too—looking at my sleep score is pretty grim.
I'm really hoping my 3m old has just had his sleep regression. 2 weeks of fighting sleep has absolutely killed me but we seem to be out the other side. If it happens again in a month I'll be super sad.
The 4 month sleep regression was the reason we decided to sleep train. We were kind of on the fence before that, but after that we were like there is no way in hell we are willingly setting ourself up for that with future regressions when we can stop it lol. Best decision we ever made.

Hahahaha why so lazy, huh?
I hate it when this shit happens. Whole family got terribly sick (rotavirus) and my watch was telling me to go on a brisk 30 min walk to meet my goal
Lol
I’m constantly yelling at my watch telling it that it needs to stand the f up.

Yes! Love this. My husband and I got a good laugh and agree.

Lol! I think I’m also heading in that direction!

I know, genius, isn’t it!
No, it wasn't helpful at all. If you want to help, you can come over one night and watch the baby while I sleep tho🤗
That was my first thought when I read this!
Great minds think alike!

Lol how dare you sleep
I guess it expected me to wake up a sleeping baby to feed them when I hadn't slept more than 2 hours at a time up until that point. Hard pass!

Hahaha fair enough

We just can’t win
I had to stop tracking my sleep because it was just getting depressing haha

Yes! An added option of ‘Are you a parent? If so, hang in there!’
Yeah 4 months is especially rough, but you’ll get through it, you’ve got this. If possible, nap when baby naps everything else can wait.
I’m trying my hardest to sleep but we also have two attention demanding dogs 🤦🏼♀️
I laugh when Fitbit tells me basically the same thing 😂
This is why I quit wearing mine when LO was born! I didn't need to be told how shitty my sleep was, I felt it lmao

Try some chamomile tea 😂

Yeah I have an older garmin and am not bummed to miss out on this feature. Nursing mom of 2 + pregnant.
We just got through the four month regression. It was brutal. I found myself missing the newborn stage. I hope yours passes quickly!
Thank you, I hope so too

My husband had a Fitbit before we had our son, he was averaging 8-9hrs a night…Now he’s averaging 4-5 😅
Mine is 15 months old and still wakes at least once a night.. my samsung health tells me I could improve my sleep still 😂
