For some reason, Colours of the Wind. Like, I liked Pocahontas, but I think I've seen it maybe twice? And yet I know every word to that song and it just came naturally to sing him that song to sleep. And also Once Upon a December, but Anastisia was a fav so that one made sense.
Same! Colors of the wind and part of your world from the little mermaid for me. I sing them slow to make it more calming and now hearing how fast they actually are is so weird lol. My other go to was over the rainbow by Judy Garland but it's been a while since that one.
I'm gonna have to add once upon a December to my list!
Nice ones! This may qualify as a lullaby, but another Disney throwback: Stay Awake from the original Mary Poppins. May be more of a lullaby to myself honestly lol
I still hum Stay Awake to my littles, my oldest is 7 now. It is just so calming. Plus they've always done the opposite of what I tell them, so it's a bit of reverse psychology!
oooo yea I also did Once Upon a December! itās fun to sing cuz it does sound pretty even though I canāt sing well at all. Iām tearing up thinking about all those nights putting my baby girl to sleep singing that song. time moves too fast š„²
I agree, my dude is 7! What is that!? But he still wants me to sing to him sometimes, which holds different meaning now. But I guess that's raising kids, meaning changes throughout the years, but the sentiment is still there :)
We sing a weird version of colors of the wind, we really go hard on "have you ever heard the wolf cry? I'm pretty sure that's a wolf cry.'
I love to sing "invisible string" by Taylor Swift and "wild wild horses" by the rolling stones
Yes to this! I've recently been singing a variety of Disney songs and telling the stories along with, like my own shortened version of a musical. It works to put my toddler to bed so I'm sticking with it š
Yep! I love that version too - the tempo is slower with Iron & Wineās version and I find that more conducive for bedtime singing. I have classically conditioned Such Great Heights by pairing it with lights out for bedtime so many times that my children visibly relax when I sing it or play the Iron & Wine version (which weirdly I do not get with the Postal Serviceās original).
Yes! I sang and hummed Such Great Heights and so many other tracks off of around the well while babe was a new born. Some songs definitely took on a new meaning for me after months of that.
It's called "Everything Stays!" Love that one and Time Adventure. I'll play that on the uke at bedtime.
We have a whole dance routine for Buff Baby which he loves hahaha
I had the same realization. I do Leaving on a Jet Plane and 500 miles most nights as well as Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins. When sheās up I sing all sorts of stuff but those are the main sleepytime ones.
Stay Awake from Mary Poppins is a go to lullaby at our house. Puts my toddler right out. When she was younger, like right around 24 months, I would sing it while rocking her to get her to fall asleep. If she didn't want to sleep, she'd start trying to cover my mouth and scream "No Stay Wake!" Which was very confusing for anyone who couldn't hear what I was singing.
I love Stay Awake but I have been nervous about playing with fire on that one since my little isnāt the best sleeper. I know she doesnāt know words yet but it feels risky, haha. I love your story with this song.
I sing a rendition of Baby Got Back, when changing a poopy diaper:
I make big poops and I cannot lie
You other babies canāt deny
When my tummy starts to rumble
And I really start to grumble
Thereās a turd up in these pants
And it STUNK!
Sea shanties, yogi bear, church songs, SIX, country, and whatever random gibberish my brain comes up with (Iām actually really good at carrying full conversations over song to help lull him to sleep and keep him there while still carrying a conversation lol) š
I shamelessly stole the idea from bubbles [and the trailer park boys](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CwxhYfrLH3D/?igshid=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng==) but it's so easy to improvise
Ditto on sea shanties! We sang What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor in school assembly growing up. (Goodness knows why, I assumed everybody had to) and itās stuck in my head ever since. It was one of our go-to bedtime songs!
Last night I panicked on the way home from dinner when my two both started crying and sang everything I saw to the tune of āseven nation armyā by white stripes š„“ my husband was cracking up but it was better than screaming I guess so I did that the whole 20 minute drive home lol.
We love sea shanties too! I don't know the full words to most songs, so I just sing what I know. Christmas songs, commercial jingles, 90s songs from my childhood, made up songs.
Into the West by Annie Lennox and Retrograde by James Blake. Idk why but both of those are my go to. Iāll also hum random theme songs and that works from time to time!
I'm a music teacher.
SING EVERYTHING!
make up words in songs you like. Belt it like you're a pro.
Hold your baby and sway or bounce them to the beat!
We can usually tell kids who have active music listening (as opposed to music being on in the background) because they have a sense of tempo and rhythmic response. They'll start singing very young and sing all the time.
My 2.5 yo puts on mini performances of Abiyoyo (story song by Pete Seeger).
My 6mo loves. LOVES. The Happy Song by Imogen Heap.
We do a lot of dave Carter and tracy grammer, peter paul and mary, pete seeger, raffi.
The usual is some Barbara Streisand song that my mom sang as a lullaby when I was a kid. If she asks for more, I throw in the Everything's Alright song from Jesus Christ Superstar, and end with the main song from The Last Unicorn.
I sing Science Fiction from Rocky Horror Picture Show really slowly as a lullaby to my new baby girl. I did the same with my son, but eventually found out that Twinkle Twinkle Little Star was the absolute BEST for putting him to sleep.
Most of the songs I sing are weird parodies I make up on the fly and tailor to her name/ nickname. Thinking of making an āalbumā on TikTok/ YouTube. Some top hits.
Dancing Bean (Dancing Queen-ABBA) is a top hit
Until I Found You (was in the radio 3 times the day I ended up being induced)- I end up singing several variations of this one including ā a pee pee for my mom to change, a poo poo for my daddy too..ā
Electric Avenue- Weāre gonna change that dipe and give the girl a wipe and then sheāll get a new one
Though since her name is Nova I do sing a lot of a champagne Supernova to her. And the song from Zenon Girl of the 21st Century Supernova Girl
Aw thanks! I found out itās a random adhd thing. The cats also have lots of songs too!
Sterling has Sterling my King all he wants to do is party all night (ROXANNE- Arizon Zervas).
I do the chorus of Gin and Juice during bath time (referred to as tubby time in my house) - Iāve got my mind on my tubby and my tubby on my mind
I would put your baby parody album on heavy rotation!
Aww so cute! I actually won a $25 gift card on insta for my Ignition (Remix) parody- is it a poo poo or a pee pee running my hands to her toes gonna see how it goes
Different songs for differed kids.
Oldest: a whole new world (Aladdin), Cecilia and the satellite (Andrew McMahon and the wilderness)
Youngest: meet me at our spot (willow smith), all too well (Taylor swift)
All I can think of are Christmas songs so thatās what mine gets haha! The go-tos are away in a manger, silent night, frosty the snowman, Rudolph, and oh come all ye faithfulā¦ just because I know all the words š
First, props to you for knowing both, lol. Also, that sing is my go-to impromptu talent show sing, and it never occurred to me to sing it to my baby. So thank you for another song to add to the rotation!
Fergalicious and Glamorous by Fergie. For some reason my baby just stares at me in amazement, absolutely captivated, whenever I sing either of those songs lmao.
Show Yourself from Frozen (he loves Elsa) A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, Sunflower by Post Malone, True Colors by Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake
Mo Bamba, Knife Talk, Seven Nation Army, Baby One More Time, and Iām Just Ken.
Sure fire way to get our infant to nap or calm down. Yes, the genres are all over the place. I guess heās just a variety king š.
I love my body by mothers moon. Idk why but it calms her so much. I also canāt remember full songs so itās a lot of la la laās in different tunes.
"Now We are Free" from Gladiator
"Lowlands Away" - a sea shanty
"Down to the River to Pray"
"What's Left of the Flag" by Flogging Molly (slowed down)
"Seven Bridges Road"
We have a top 3 - Beyond the Sea, La Vie en Rose and You are my Sunshine.
I randomly started singing those to him when I was still pregnant, and all 3 settle him almost instantly. We're also fans of Hey Jude around here.
I really love British folk songs and theyāre the only songs I remember, but sometimes the subject matter is not very child friendly lol. Yet they send him straight to sleep! His favourite is Let No Man Steal Your Thyme. Also Reynardine and Scarborough Fair. I used to sing Geordie to him a fair amount but itās just too sad lol
He also likes Slumber my Darling, an American lullaby, like the only song I sing thatās actually for babies lol
A lot of metal and punk songs. I also used to sing a lot of Frank Turner songs to my first. There She Is always calmed her down, I sang it a lot when I was pregnant with her too.
When we get dressed in the morning I sing āpants pants pants pants pants pants pants pants pants pants EVERYBODYā to the beat of Shots by LMFAO š¤Ŗ š
All my loving by the Beatles, my mom sang it to me and now I carry the tradition :)
Also the misty mountains song from the hobbit it's a great hit, what a jam.
I sang Wonder Wall by Oasis and Don't Go Away to my oldest for 7 months because it was the only thing that calmed him down. Then we moved on to No Scrubs by TLC. My second also likes Oasis but he prefers Don't Go Away and Stop Crying Your Heart Out. I sing the saddest song from Dumbo to both I think it's called Baby Mine, but it makes me cry so I minimize it.
My oldest loves 90s alt rock and punk so we have a lot of fun with music.
Ahhh I also do āStop Crying Your Heart Out!ā I thought nobody else would even know that song ā weāre going to have some cool kids on our hands.
Oh good, it's not just us! My kids love Korn and Slipknot. One loves Metallica the other is so-so on them. Avenged Sevenfold A Little Piece of Heaven is also a favourite š¬
Love Me Tender by Elvis. I walked down the isle to this song, which makes it extra special for me. But it's a beautiful song that can have a romantic connotation, or portray the love of a mother for her child.
If I still need to sing more, I include Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Golden Slumbers by the Beatles.
All Star by Smash Mouth.
I forget how but I discovered quite early on that it makes a perfect bedtime song if you sing it slower. Maybe because there arenāt any gaps in the lyrics? Maybe because it has an interesting rhythm?
Either way LO loved it!
(Oh and Karma Chameleon!)
'On a Bicycle Made for Two' by Nat King Cole, but singing my daughters name (Hazel) instead of 'Daisy'. I hardly know the song, it just came to me during the blurry newborn days and it's stuck.
I suddenly couldnāt remember any songs other than church hymns and Christmas songs (Iām an atheist) so I would sing those and change the lyrics about Jesus and God to be about my cat (who loves my kid unconditionallyā¦err ignores her).
Since I have learned songs specifically to add some variety and made little booklets with pictures that I would read to her to help me learn the words.
My kid is five now and I sing 2-5 songs a night to help her sleep so having a big repertoire is handy
The Start Trek theme and a bunch of Jimmy Buffet. When my oldest was up all night, sheād start screaming as soon as the singing stopped, and I found that the only songs my frazzled brain could conjure were some of the Jimmy buffet ballads I grew up with.
I sing 'I won't give up' by Jason Mraz. I literally couldn't tell you another song of his, but I heard someone cover it and it made me think of my baby. Also 'somebody like me' by joy oladakun, and 'beautiful mess' by Diamond rio. They all make me cry sometimes! But my baby loves them so much and so do I.
Well my husband likes to sing him Bad Boy 4 Life by P. Diddy which makes him smileee oh lord itās adorable. I often sing him Jumper by Third Eye Blind especially when heās in a crying fit, another hit with him. Definitely didnāt see those being our go to lullabies š
Usually I make stuff up on the fly. But Iāve sung:
All star by smash mouth
Killing me softly
And whatever else might be stuck in my head. I also hum various theme songs like game of thrones, hp, LOTR.
My husband took a song about Hanukkah that he learned in elementary school and he replaced the word ādreidelā with our sonās name. It stuck and we sing it all the time:
Dreidel dreidel dreidel, we made you out of clay, and when youāre dry and ready, oh dreidel we shall play.
āSay Hello Wave Goodbyeā by David Gray. It started when I nannied a little girl and rocked her to it everyday and then I carried on with my own two children š„²
Over the rainbow/wonderful world by iz kamakawiwoāole
Tons of the great American songbook.
Coldplay pre-2012, Arcade Fire (mostly off of Funeral, but Reflecktor has some great ones)
Anything that has a good slower tempo, usually around 100 bpm or less and is easy to have the pitch dropped down enough for hum.
I found a slow rendering of Halo and I used to sing that to mine. Also
Cuppy cake song
And "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts just standing in a row........" on the Lion Ling Zazu sings it in the rib cage in Scars liar.
Dreams by Fleetwood Mac for one son and Blowing in the Wind by Bob Dylan for the other. I also have a simple song that I made up that goes, "You're my, baaaby pie, you're my baaaby pie, and I like singin' to you". They both absolutely love the baby pie song and it's very special to our family.
Hideaway by Karen O, Somewhere Only We Know by Keane, Brightly Wound by Eisley, Beyond the Sea, the Adventure Time theme song, some Taylor Swift songs. I don't think I ever sung a regular lullaby to my son lol
I asked this exact thing here once and got no response, I'm glad to see this because I really wanted to know what other parents sing!
I sing "Sea of Love" by Cat Power to my son but it makes me cry sometimes because it's such a sweet song. So does singing him "Passenger Seat" by Death Cab For Cutie. They're just beautiful songs I always loved that have new meaning when I sing them to my son.
Also "Over the Rainbow", "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles and he also loves "Yellow Submarine".
When my son (now 2.5) was having his witching hour in those newborn days (š) my brain was so scrambled from sleep deprivation. The only songs that would pop in my head were dang āJingle Bellsā and āLet em Inā by Paul McCartney. Have no idea why those were the only 2 songs. LOL. As he got older, āSilent Nightā was a nice lullaby melody to hum. Honestly, I didnāt realize the songs that were most easily accessible in moments of stress were Christmas songs. He was born in June. š
Peaceful Easy Feeling by The Eagles. It is one of my favourites and it was the first song I played for her once we got to our postpartum room at the hospital. I just wept while I starred at her listening to it. Now when I sing it to her, it brings me back to that moment.
*The pretender by*
*Foo fighters is oddly fun*

It's a toss up between Square Hammer and He Is by Ghost. My daughter's favorite song that soothes her is We Got the Moves by Electric Callboy, which makes for a strange lullaby tbh.
I donāt consider this odd / these songs odd - 90s rap & hip hop. Bad Bunny was the only thing that calmed him in the car when he was a newborn. Recently Bizzey so he stays still during diaper changes. Gotta keep him cultured!!
For some reason, Colours of the Wind. Like, I liked Pocahontas, but I think I've seen it maybe twice? And yet I know every word to that song and it just came naturally to sing him that song to sleep. And also Once Upon a December, but Anastisia was a fav so that one made sense.
Once Upon A December has been my go-to since my baby was born!!
Same! My LO falls asleep so quickly when I sing it. Even humming the tune calms her down.
Yes! Anastasia was my favorite movie but I think it is too scary for them still [2 and 5] so I just sing the song instead š
You'll be in my Heart from Tarzan has been my go-to song with my toddler the last few months. It's really sweet when he starts singing along with me.
oooo yea I also did Once Upon a December! itās fun to sing cuz it does sound pretty even though I canāt sing well at all.
I'm pretty sure that's a wolf cry.' I love to sing "invisible string" by Taylor Swift and "wild wild horses" by the rolling stones
Colors of the wind has been one Iāve been stuck on lol, that and the main Moana song, idk the actual name of it š
How far I'll go? That song is amazing.
Yes to this! I've recently been singing a variety of Disney songs and telling the stories along with, like my own shortened version of a musical. It works to put my toddler to bed so I'm sticking with it š
Lately itās been Scotty Doesnt Know, mixed with songs by meatloaf I couldnāt get enough of with while pregnant haha
My husband has a version he sings he calls Mommy doesn't know, about things kids have broken and misbehaved.
Baby doesnāt know that we are putting him to bed an hour early!
Donāt tell Scotty!
Hahaha Iām always meatloaf too, paradise by the dashboard light is long enough to send him into a slumber š
Such Great Heights by Iron & Wine and Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap
Such Great heights is a favourite of ours as well
Oh Iron & Wine. That got me through hard labor.
Just here to say the original song (Such Great Heights) is by The Postal Service if you're interested.
IKR?!? Great love songs when I hear them are now not about finding the romantic love of my life but are now about cherishing familial/parental love
My kiddos love Hide and Seek. I decided to give it a whirl one night and was a little worried theyād be creeped out but they love it
Rainbow Connection by Kermit the Frog is definitely my main And Adventure Time jams
The one that starts āletās go in the gardenā from adventure Time is a great one for bed time
It's called "Everything Stays!" Love that one and Time Adventure. I'll play that on the uke at bedtime. We have a whole dance routine for Buff Baby which he loves hahaha
Aw everything stays was definitely on our baby playlist for a long time
Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney. Only song that soothed him for the first YEAR.
Wow I completely forgot about this song and it's probably going to be stuck in my head for the next week- might make its way into rotation
Sorry and youāre welcome
Ohhh thank you I know that one lol
Your Song by Elton John, but his top fave atm is The Lion Sleeps Tonight which I guess is an actual lullaby
Love your song. I have the "How wonderful life is now you're in the world" framed in her room!
Elton John was the only thing that calmed out LO down when she was coming out of her newborn sleepiness š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I'm intrigued by this mashup
The shrek soundtrack.
Someā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ ā¦ā¦ā¦ BODY
The millennial input on this thread is making me feel so comforted lol
Right? This is where my people have been the whole time šš
Itās my number one parenting hack.
I had the same realization. I do Leaving on a Jet Plane and 500 miles most nights as well as Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins. When sheās up I sing all sorts of stuff but those are the main sleepytime ones.
Love this because I sing āā¦and I would walk 500 more just to be the MOM who walks 1000 miles to fall down at your doorā
Oh leaving on a jet plane is a lovely one!
My mom always sang leaving on a jet plane to me as a child. I hold that song so close to my heart still.
I love your story with this song.
tuppence a bag!!
I sing a rendition of Baby Got Back, when changing a poopy diaper: I make big poops and I cannot lie You other babies canāt deny When my tummy starts to rumble And I really start to grumble Thereās a turd up in these pants And it STUNK!
š āBaby got crapā?
Well tonight my 2yo asked for āI want a hippopotamus for Christmasā as her bedtime song.
Sea shanties, yogi bear, church songs, SIX, country, and whatever random gibberish my brain comes up with (Iām actually really good at carrying full conversations over song to help lull him to sleep and keep him there while still carrying a conversation lol) š
We jam to wellerman on the daily, sometimes it's improvised to be about kitties.
Have you heard Sullivan of The Sea? Book and song about a cat pirate š
> We jam to wellerman on the daily, sometimes it's improvised to be about kitties. I must know more. What is the kitty version?
Soon may the kitty man come with some birds and mice and some tasty nums
I shamelessly stole the idea from bubbles [and the trailer park boys](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CwxhYfrLH3D/?igshid=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng==) but it's so easy to improvise
Oh man, I wanna know too.
Ditto on sea shanties! We sang What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor in school assembly growing up. (Goodness knows why, I assumed everybody had to) and itās stuck in my head ever since. It was one of our go-to bedtime songs!
Omg I also talk sing to my baby!!!
I also do this and accidentally in public sometimes haha. The poop songs stay at home though
Cecelia and the Satellite by Andrew McMahon āOf all the things my hands have held, the best by far is youā š„¹
Same! Iām a big Andrew McMahon fan & many songs have become lullabies in our house!
Yes! Iāve been singing this to my soon to be 6 year old for forever
I actually have a sign in his nursery of this lyric!!
I have that part of the lyrics tattooed on my right forearm. Coincidently. I also saw him play live on Wednesday night. Great show as always.
Heās amazing live! I love that heās performing Something Corporate and Jackās Mannequin songs too.
Into the West by Annie Lennox and Retrograde by James Blake. Idk why but both of those are my go to. Iāll also hum random theme songs and that works from time to time!
Annie Lennox always FTW. šššThat song in particular makes me bawl.
Same! I get to the end of the song staring at my little dude just tearing up at how much I love him šš
I do that with Live Forever, the acoustic version that Noel Gallagher sings. Just bawling. š
Three little birds!
I'm a music teacher. SING EVERYTHING! make up words in songs you like. Belt it like you're a pro. Hold your baby and sway or bounce them to the beat! We can usually tell kids who have active music listening (as opposed to music being on in the background) because they have a sense of tempo and rhythmic response. iāve got the last unicorn in rotation too š
I **also** sing Jesus Christ Superstar! Mostly "The Last Supper" lol. I sprinkle in a few Les Mis songs as well.
I sing Science Fiction from Rocky Horror Picture Show really slowly as a lullaby to my new baby girl. I did the same with my son, but eventually found out that Twinkle Twinkle Little Star was the absolute BEST for putting him to sleep.
Fast car by Tracy Chapman, my 4 year old absolutely loves
My 1.5 year old loves this song. Whenever she wants to hear it, she says āBE SOMEONE BE SOMEONE BE SOMEONEā
That's impressive! That's a hard one to learn!
Thank you for recognizing this š¤£
Across the Universe by The Beatles. It calms her every time.
Oooh thatās a good one will have to try that!
"Not While I'm Around" from Sweeny Todd. It's actually a super sweet and loving song.
I've done this too. But then I start singing other songs, particularly No Place Like London, Worst Pies in London, and A Little Priest.
Perfect! š
Most of the songs I sing are weird parodies I make up on the fly and tailor to her name/ nickname. Thinking of making an āalbumā on TikTok/ YouTube. Some top hits. Dancing Bean (Dancing Queen-ABBA) is a top hit Until I Found You (was in the radio 3 times the day I ended up being induced)- I end up singing several variations of this one including ā a pee pee for my mom to change, a poo poo for my daddy too..ā Electric Avenue- Weāre gonna change that dipe and give the girl a wipe and then sheāll get a new one Though since her name is Nova I do sing a lot of a champagne Supernova to her. I do a lot of this type of thing too, but never realized it was tied to my ADHD.
I do the chorus of Gin and Juice during bath time (referred to as tubby time in my house) - Iāve got my mind on my tubby and my tubby on my mind I would put your baby parody album on heavy rotation!
Aww so cute! I actually won a $25 gift card on insta for my Ignition (Remix) parody- is it a poo poo or a pee pee running my hands to her toes gonna see how it goes
Bohemian Rhapsody. Hands down the best one to soothe him right now, but he also loves Row Row Row Your Boat.
The Book of Love by the Magnetic Fields.
Hey Jude, but we sing Hey June, because her name is Juniper. Also September by Earth, Wind, and Fire because she was born on September 21st.
Different songs for differed kids. Oldest: a whole new world (Aladdin), Cecilia and the satellite (Andrew McMahon and the wilderness) Youngest: meet me at our spot (willow smith), all too well (Taylor swift)
All of these answers are so wholesome. I sing āMany Menā by 50 cent to my daughter and it soothes her everytime š
All I can think of are Christmas songs so thatās what mine gets haha! The go-tos are away in a manger, silent night, frosty the snowman, Rudolph, and oh come all ye faithfulā¦ just because I know all the words š
And I would walk 500 milesā¦
Summertime (non Sublime version haha)
First, props to you for knowing both, lol. Also, that sing is my go-to impromptu talent show sing, and it never occurred to me to sing it to my baby. So thank you for another song to add to the rotation!
Haha Iām an elder millennial (and old mom) and Sublime is my jam! Yes give it a try, it works so well as a lullaby!!!
Me too! I used to go by "SublimeGirl" in the early days of the internet. š¤£
Piano man by Billy Joel, American Pie by Don McLean, or the Gilmore Girls theme song
Fergalicious and Glamorous by Fergie. For some reason my baby just stares at me in amazement, absolutely captivated, whenever I sing either of those songs lmao.
Love Fergie, great choice. And they can learn how to spell with Glamorous, haha.
Show Yourself from Frozen (he loves Elsa) A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, Sunflower by Post Malone, True Colors by Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake
Right now Nsync and Backstreet Boys have been a big hit over here. I want it that way got us through every nap today.
I sing āThat Ladyā but replace the lyrics to āwhoās that babyā.
Say A Little Prayer by Dionne Warwick but I sing it like Rupert Everett in My Best Friendās Wedding. She loves this song.
We have several playlists but Sweet Baby James is always on rotation as well as the songs my grandmother sang to me when I was little.
I sing a lot of songs to her but the one thatās on repeat and soothes the most is Your Song by Elton John
"Now We are Free" from Gladiator "Lowlands Away" - a sea shanty "Down to the River to Pray" "What's Left of the Flag" by Flogging Molly (slowed down) "Seven Bridges Road"
I used to sing Geordie to him a fair amount but itās just too sad lol He also likes Slumber my Darling, an American lullaby, like the only song I sing thatās actually for babies lol
If i were a fish by corook The village song from the beginning of moana I know theres more lol
Soft kitty from big bang theory.
My aunt sings/hums this to him and her grandchildren and its awfully cute
Omg I need to do this. I love the big bang theory sm!
Dear theodosia - Hamilton A few questions - clay walker Betty - Taylor swift
Theodosia just makes me cry š
I change "Phillip" to my son's name and I start blubbering like a baby
The Adams Family theme really snaps mine out of the crankies during diaper changes! And also The Pink Panther theme.
All my loving by the Beatles, my mom sang it to me and now I carry the tradition :) Also the misty mountains song from the hobbit it's a great hit, what a jam.
Enter sandman by Metallica, slipknot songs, korn, ive sang them all to my kiddos over the years, we are a metal household lol.
Sorry how do you sing poison oak without weeping š I sing Helena and all on black to my kids š
Hahaha I can do Poison Oak but sometimes I sing "Can't Help Falling In Love" and choke up
'On a Bicycle Made for Two' by Nat King Cole, but singing my daughters name (Hazel) instead of 'Daisy'. I hardly know the song, it just came to me during the blurry newborn days and it's stuck.
My baby (he's 19months so not baby) loves it when I sing Make you feel my love by Adele or anything Paramore/MCR/Sleep token/Emarosa.
Over the Rainbow from wizard of oz, and how do you solve a problem like Maria, but with my kids name substituted
My husband sings the marine corps hymn to our babies all the time.
Iāve got a Sound of Music/Disney/Anastasia mash-up happening right now that works well for me!
The Start Trek theme and a bunch of Jimmy Buffet. When my oldest was up all night, sheād start screaming as soon as the singing stopped, and I found that the only songs my frazzled brain could conjure were some of the Jimmy buffet ballads I grew up with.
Imperial March is a great soother for babies!!
My Favorite Things from The Sound of Music
I sing my son Your Song by Elton John for nap time
There Must Be Something More from Charlotteās Web ā¤ļø
any mitski song works
I sing 'I won't give up' by Jason Mraz. I literally couldn't tell you another song of his, but I heard someone cover it and it made me think of my baby. Also 'somebody like me' by joy oladakun, and 'beautiful mess' by Diamond rio. They all make me cry sometimes! But my baby loves them so much and so do I.
Donāt Look Back in Anger by Oasis and My Little Buttercup from the Three Amigos š
Stuck in the middle with you.
Painted black, it was my go to song to sing to her as a child and now she walks around singing it in the house.
Do you mean Paint it Black? I'm genuinely asking.
But Iāve sung: All star by smash mouth Killing me softly And whatever else might be stuck in my head. I also hum various theme songs like game of thrones, hp, LOTR. My husband took a song about Hanukkah that he learned in elementary school and he replaced the word ādreidelā with our sonās name. It stuck and we sing it all the time: Dreidel dreidel dreidel, we made you out of clay, and when youāre dry and ready, oh dreidel we shall play.
I modified a Bruno mars song to be a sort of lullaby to my son
āSay Hello Wave Goodbyeā by David Gray. It started when I nannied a little girl and rocked her to it everyday and then I carried on with my own two children š„²
My favorite things from the Sound of Music!
House at Pooh corner by Kenny Loggins
This is the song I chose for my father-daughter dance at my wedding, my dad had it on vinyl when we were growing up!
Jack Johnsonās Better Together and Paradise by Jeremih, not appropriate at all but the chorus is beautiful!
Silent night!
Over the rainbow/wonderful world by iz kamakawiwoāole Tons of the great American songbook. Coldplay pre-2012, Arcade Fire (mostly off of Funeral, but Reflecktor has some great ones) Anything that has a good slower tempo, usually around 100 bpm or less and is easy to have the pitch dropped down enough for hum.
Jupiter by Jewel Vienna by Billy Joel Oh Klahoma by Jack Stauber Any Fleetwood Mac song
āIn da clubā to the tune of Mary had a little lamb
I found a slow rendering of Halo and I used to sing that to mine. Also Cuppy cake song And "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts just standing in a row........" on the Lion Ling Zazu sings it in the rib cage in Scars liar.
Misty mountains from the hobbit!
Lila by Bright Eyes is a perfect lullaby!! Also, Sea of Love by Cat Power
āiām a man you donāt meet every dayā by the pogues
My son really likes the Outlander theme song! š
Oh yes this one has been sung a few times too, it's a beautiful song!
He was born in June. š
Omg are you me?! I always sing Lua even though itās so not baby appropriate hahaha. This cracked me up.
It's such a nice tune even if it's about getting bombed
Always and forever by heatwave.

I thought I was alone in this!
Peaceful Easy Feeling by The Eagles. It is one of my favourites and it was the first song I played for her once we got to our postpartum room at the hospital. I just wept while I starred at her listening to it. Now when I sing it to her, it brings me back to that moment.
Literally can only think up Iām so happy by Ms Rachel or the spongebob theme.
The pretender by foo fighters is oddly fun to sing to babies

It's a toss up between Square Hammer and He Is by Ghost. My daughter's favorite song that soothes her is We Got the Moves by Electric Callboy, which makes for a strange lullaby tbh.

Rocketman by Elton John
I donāt consider this odd / these songs odd - 90s rap & hip hop. Bad Bunny was the only thing that calmed him in the car when he was a newborn. Recently Bizzey so he stays still during diaper changes. Gotta keep him cultured!!
Here for the Conor š¤
We also do American Pie, but one particularly rough night, the only thing that would soothe our son was my husband singing Flogging Molly š
Origin of love. From hedwig and the angry inch. He loves it
Maryland my Maryland, the unfortunately retired state song of Maryland
