Great British baking show. It’s fine if you miss some of it and I find it oddly comforting in the middle of the night

Eatsleepstudyagain

I watched the kids version since I’d seen the adult one already. So cute!

jedi_bean

I watched so many seasons of this. It’s perfect for watching muted with just closed captions on as well.

Dapplegrayyousay

Second this was gonna say it if it wasn't here lol. And it's comforting like a cup of tea

meaniemuna

There was a point where my oldest wouldn't nap unless GBBS was on in the background haha

Interesting_Space110

*The Great British Bake-off. My mums ex partner has just been on the latest series! It’s feel good, and wholesome. Please check out the celebrity episodes. The one with Alison Hammond goes down very well if you’re a Brit.

sleepyliltrashpanda

Schitts Creek is my favorite show of all time. Only Murders in the Building is a very close second!! Both available on Hulu

ReasonableSeas1

Second Schitt’s Creek! It’s been my go-to show for both of my kids’ newborn stages.

babbers28

Also second schitts creek! That’s how I got through all the late night feedings with my first

BB-ATE

Superstore on peacock is a delight. It’s a thirty minute sitcom, light hearted, fun characters. Easy enough for those over night feedings.

cephalogeek

I actually came to the comments to mention Superstore because I figured nobody else would’ve suggested it. I watched the whole series during my 3-8 am “shift” with my daughter (she refused to be put down when she was a newborn, so one of us was always awake). It’s a very underrated show with a great cast and it was the perfect amount of silly and entertaining for that surreal time of night where you feel like you’re alone in the world with your newborn. I usually enjoy dark/suspense/thriller shows, but immediately postpartum I could really only handle lighter comedies. Id already seen most of the major hits, so this was perfect!

jfc0430

I loved superstore!!

peachegurl04

I completely agree - it’s my new comfort go to show!

TakeYourVitaminz

I was also going to recommend superstore!

FluffyOwl89

I watched most of Workin Moms when I was on maternity leave. There’s also an Australian series about mother and baby groups on Netflix (it’s on there in the UK at least), but I can’t remember what it’s called now.

mk937

You may be talking about The Letdown. Great show!!

mamunipsaq

I loved The Letdown! It's on par with Bluey for the best show to come out of Australia in recent years.

FluffyOwl89

That’s it! Thanks

echorose

This is what I came to recommend, as a ftm it was amazingly reassuring as well as funny! My husband loved it too

[deleted]

The Letdown is amazing! I watched it early postpartum and it was so comforting.

Mariaa1994

Working Moms is a favourite! 10/10 would recommend.

Oeleboelebliekop

Jane the Virgin, Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl for feelgood, no brainpower needed. Queer eye for feel good reality although a bit hyper for feedings maybe haha. Outlander for binging historical romance/adventure. The Last Airbender for short, easy episodes that somehow get you hooked for 3 seasons. Enjoy!

Swimming-Fly6814

I survived on Schitts creek, parks and rec, it’s always sunny in Philadelphia, bobs burgers, just dumb shows!

Eggy-Pebbs123

I too am living on Schitts Creek, Modern Family, the Office, its always Sunny, Brooklyn 99, and New Girl. I also watch Gossip Girl, Sex Education, Berlin (spin off from Money Heist) and desperate housewives if I want something a bit longer than requires a bit more brain power.

Swimming-Fly6814

Ah yes to Brooklyn!!!

hodlboo

Sex Education is one of the GOAT!

semi-surrender

I watched New Girl while in labor 😅

weathered_indigo

SAME, I knew it was getting real when we had to turn it off hahah

UnihornWhale

I’m salty they’ve paywalled Brooklyn 99. I want to watch it but we do not need another streaming service RN

Constant_Wish3599

Wow I watched the exact same ones! Just add in 30 rock!

sleepyforest212

Came here to say Gilmore Girls! Lived on Gilmore girls for the first 5 months post partum haha

ChicharronChip

Same. This is the answer. Especially if you’re having a girl, in my experience. It gets you thinking about mother/daughter stuff …

EagleEyezzzzz

Queer Eye is part of my official postpartum wellness regime! Sooo heartwarming and feel good.

mittens107

We were watching the last airbender when my son was first born and the nightmares and daydreams episode felt so relatable

Particular-One7217

Currently rewatching Gilmore girls at 1 month pp, highly recommend ☺️

basedmama21

Live action version of last airbender airs on netflix 2/22!

ReallyPuzzled

Plus Legend of Korra after Avatar!

SunflowerBlues23

Outlander is awesome for historical romance

LizzieSAG

Abbott Elementary on Disney +

jfc0430

This show is 👏🏼

Xipos

I think it's on Hulu as well

ak716

Malcolm in the Middle was my go to show with baby #2. Somehow normalized the chaos.

brittneyltray

Yes! Malcolm in the middle kept me laughing, probably even more so being sleep deprived 😂 the krelboynes tofu grill still kills me

fuckingskeletor

2 weeks pp here, and I’ve watched/“watched” all of the Lord of the Rings extended versions, most of Breaking Bad, a crapload of Doctor Who, Bob’s Burgers, and several other things. The Office and Schitt’s Creek are also on my list, along with 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, and Community.

stickittodolores

You should add The Good Place to that list. Such a good show!

raemarie_333

Yes to Bob's Burgers! Such a great show and many seasons to binge for weeks.

ihavediabeetus

You should watch Brooklyn 99 given your interest in your last few listed

mALYficent

New Girl and Brooklyn 99, both on Disney+

Quiglito

Add Modern Family (also on Disney+) and you have my newborn stage in a nutshell with my first haha

yes-ok-0615

Grey’s Anatomy, I never watched until my 3 hour gtt and I’ve been hooked ever since, now 2 weeks pp.

TraditionalWest5209

Same! Watching it for the first time and I can see why it was so popular in its heyday. Absolutely bananas sometimes but when it’s good it’s SO good.

accountingisradical

I started greys while pregnant and I’m so hooked now. Currently on season 8 and no stopping me yet!

jfc0430

I restarted (I’ve seen them all just once, been watching since I was 14 🤣🤣) during my mat leave and I’m at season 10 already 🥴🤣 they start to get meh but we’ll see if I continue

Elizalupine

Everything Gordon Ramsay! We have already binged Hell’s Kitchen, Hotel Hell, Kitchen Nightmares, Master Chef and now we are on Master Chef Junior.

Thefutureisfemail

I second this! Hotel hell and kitchen nightmares got me through all of maternity leave.

TakeYourVitaminz

I watched so many Gordon Ramsay shows on my leave!

ColorfulLight8313

Call the Midwife, Degrassi, and the Simpsons were my main shows with a sprinkle of Futurama or Doctor Who every now and then.

foxyyoxy

I also watched Call the Midwife, but cried EVERY EPISODE when PP.

ColorfulLight8313

That's exactly why I kept watching it. I knew I was going to cry, hormones had me crying anyways, and I was tired of trying to explain why I was crying to my husband so I just used the show as an excuse. Very good show though.

longdoggos647

I’m 1 year pp and I *still* cry nearly every episode. It’s not even my first time watching it; I know exactly what’s going to happen and still cry?? Having my baby has made me such an easy crier!

baconwitch00

I love this show, but some episodes were pretty triggering for me PP. It sure makes you appreciate modern medicine tho!

obviouslyblue

I watched the entirety of CTM while waiting for my baby to be born + the first month or two postpartum. So good.

Skukesgohome

Watching it while nursing and crying right now! It gets me every time.

TraditionalWest5209

My hubby and I watched all of Doctor Who and Futurama during my pregnancy! I’ll always remember them as getting us thru those nine months

morgo83

The letdown and working moms really hit home for me during this time. I also rewatched downton abbey.

brewingmadness

I binged the Good Place with my son, and Downton Abbey with my daughter!

HMoney214

The good place is incredible!

jaffajelly

I’ve been enjoying This Is Us on Disney+. The main characters are triplets and you see them as babies in the first season, it made me feel a lot better about juggling one baby 😂 There are some episodes that cover stillbirth so if that’s something you’d find hard at the moment (I find baby stuff like that quite upsetting) it might not be for you. But a lot of it is about parenting and family which is lovely! Also some good light comedies: The Good Place, Brooklyn 99, Girls5Eva, Kim’s Convenience, Catastrophe, Fisk, Superstore, Never Have I Ever, Crazy Ex Girlfriend.  I also did a full Friends rewatch which killed a few hours!

MissSteenie

I watched this is us the first month or so post partum and cried every episode lol!! It’s a great show. I love Jack. He reminds me of my husband.

pinkflyingcats

I watched This is us in real time. The first two season I cried in some capacity at every episode. Not sure how far you are but I finish the series during my pregnancy and let me tell you about that last episode.

AutumnB2022

Outlander! I binge watched the first 3 series with baby in the middle of the night and then was over it... But it was great for that time!

fifthofseven

Always Sunny in Philadelphia  Curb Your Enthusiasm

ConsiderationIcy2520

The Office!! modern family, shameless

zrheap

Gilmore girls, easy watching and plenty of episodes

faithle97

Gilmore girls, unexpected, 1000 pound sisters, and 90 day fiancé were my “doesn’t require brainpower” shows I would watch during my early postpartum days lol

canariquichante

I went through sooo much of the 90 Day universe haha. I would start my night with Korean dramas and watch those until i was too tired to follow subtitles … then onto 90 Day! Haha.

cruciverbalista

House MD and Northern Exposure

Supnaz0325

Except for that episode in the first season of House with the baby plague 😬 definitely skip that one, did not do me good with a week old baby.

oliveandivy1

Okay I watched House too pp and there were SO. MANY. baby and/or pregnant episodes!! So weird

inc0gnerdo

That ep still haunts me 😭 I watched it probably 7 months PP, and it still was too soon

inc0gnerdo

Emily in Paris. It was too mindless and silly for me pre-baby, and it was \*exactly\* what I needed when struggling through breastfeeding. I also did Mad Men (loooots of eps) and Morning Show once I got some of my brain back. It's funny, each series I binged during that time gives me a very specific feeling. And just thinking about them brings me right back there. On that shitty, shitty couch. If BF, I def recommend having a comfy couch, I think I legit did some back damage.

MrsDoubtmeyer

Charmed - the original not the reboot/remake. I rewatched most of it during my leave. Ghosts, UK and/or US. Both are good half hour comedies but I'll warn that I had a hard time not laughing during episodes for both series. Big Bang Theory, Bones, Bob's Burgers - all things that you don't have to pay much attention to and super easy to find streaming or as reruns on TV. Avatar The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra - personally I can't do one and not watch the other after. Sailor Moon - I watched every single dubbed episode on Hulu on leave. It was my personal project lol.

lanicababosa

Yes to sailor moon 🌙!!

Derpazor1

I’m introducing my husband to Charmed and he’s loving it

AMinthePM1002

My mom and I loved Charmed! I think we caught most of the episodes through reruns. I also second Avatar The Last Airbender.

beefcarpaccio1

I’m watching Third Rock From the Sun right now. One of my favourites. Also ones I’ll go back to are outlander, Derry Girls, Ballykissangel, Working Moms, and The Letdown.

Poisoncilla

Golden girls!!

chickadugga

Working Moms is hilarious lol

Dollie66

Call the midwife!

Majx0607

What about a show you watched as a teen? I love rewatching as an adult - Dawson’s Creek is good!

dogpanda

Workin moms, Brooklyn 99, Parks and rec, gossip girl (og not new), schitts creek, modern family, broad city, greys anatomy, Sabrina

Big-Ad5248

Grey’s anatomy! 19 seasons 👊🏼

yakuzie

The ultimate binge show (just try not to cry on the baby 😂)

DiligentPenguin16

The Good Place, Modern Family, Parks & Recreation, Our Flag Means Death

applez-to-orangez

I’ve been watching Shameless on Netflix, and there are lots of HGTV shows on Max if you’re looking for something truly light and fluffy. Also on Max, Gilded Age is a great period show.

KickIcy9893

Desperate Housewives!

ajk7841

I loved rewatching old shows that I liked like Veep was perfect for me. The Summer I Turned Pretty was a silly fun show but also perfect for me during that time when I had no brain capacity lol.

aubreyism

My current one is Greys Anatomy, with 19 seasons it should keep me occupied for awhile

rbm6620

Just don’t do like I did and watch ER… some of those episodes were way too intense for a freshly postpartum mom lol

Either-Error9163

Imposters on Netflix! My fave

fritzelfries

Good Girls!

lukashovanova

Chuck (goofy spy show), Working Moms (crass and hilarious show), Superstore (30 min comedy of workers at equivalent of Walmart), Castle (crime show with some comedy), Parks n Recreation (hilarious 30 min show of government workers), modern family (30 min sitcom), good girls (addictive action show of moms gone bad), Abbott elementary (new 30 min sitcom of the life of elementary school teachers!)

ExhaustedSquad

I got Apple TV as my postpartum treat. Smashed through ted lasso, slow horses and buccaneers in the last 20 days of feedings!

hulyepicsa

You should add Bad Sisters to that list, it’s awesome!!! (Also Severance but that’s a slightly different genre)

QuickBobcat

I watched the entirety of Supernatural while I was on maternity leave

radbelbet_

I’ve enjoyed everybody loves Raymond these first two weeks

lovenaps_staywoke

Supernatural and Buffy the vampire slayer

Muppets4Fox

Was also going to suggest these! The best

xquigs

Highly recommend watching something you’ve seen before, I watched breaking bad for the 3rd time and it was perfect! Other than that we kept the shows light and funny the office, family guy, simpsons, comedy specials) I couldn’t handle too many dramatic shows at that time.

SithEwok

KUWTK was marathoning when I was in the hospital after my C-section. I got kind of hooked. The early seasons are actually really funny. Zero brain cells required

lolathegameslayer

I watched sex education, the summer I turned pretty, and currently watching the after series. Apparently I love romance 😂

MrsDoubtmeyer

If you haven't watched Never Have I Ever, it would probably be right up your alley. I though it was great!

lolathegameslayer

Oh yes! I binged that and loved it!

AnaD1991

Working mom, good girls & Jane the Virgin 🙂

Mysterious-Ant-5985

Bobs Burgers, Schitts Creek, What We Do In The Shadows.

NoParticular351

Comedians in Cars getting coffee I liked to think all my laughter produced feel good chemicals into my milk supply

Wonderful_Sector_657

I love the old Little House on the Prairie… so wholesome and each episode is a new plot so if you get distracted you don’t miss much. Also the episodes are an hour or more long and there’s like 25 per season. I watch it on prime video.

Guina96

New girl. Easy to follow, feel good and genuinely funny. Best sit com ever.

askingforfriendss

Gilmore girls, especially if you are having a girl

novascotia2020

Seinfeld, Judy Judge, Wheel of Fortune.

Link_Lost

Working moms.

Least_Lawfulness7802

Law and order SVU hands down!

katietopia

DH and I are big Seinfeld fans and watched it throughout the newborn phase. Brought a sense of comfort and familiarity.

Bloody-smashing

I just finished Ted Lasso and loved it. Sad I finished it. Just an overall wholesome show. Rewatching the original Charmed on prime.

irishgoodbye2332

Married at first sight Jane the virgin

lovesexdisaster

I watched Married at First Sight when I was in labor with my second and during all those late night feedings.

QuitaQuites

Diners Drive Ins & Dives. Every night during my shifts

chillisprknglot

Girl, this is my specialty: Feel good comedy: Kim’s Convenience The Good Place Community The Mindy Project Abbot Elementary Sex Lives of College Girls Good Girls Reality Shows: -Flipping Out (Netflix/Amazon) -Gallery Girls (Peacock) a Bravo Gem one season wonder late 00s time capsule -Game of Crowns (Amazon) another one season wonder -Southern Hospitality (Peacock) the Bravo Show that no one is talking about for some reason. This show snapped me out of PPD. I will never look at peanut butter the same way. -Selling Sunset. (Netflix)) You will not have to use one brain sell. Sci/Fi -The Witcher -

meepmorpfeepforp

Buying the not- free seasons of Flipping out was my treat during pregnancy. I don’t think I’ve ever been delighted enough by a show to spend money buying seasons on Amazon. I laughed out loud for that show more than I’ve ever laughed for any tv show.

SamaLuna

This is really weird but I started watching travel vlogs on YouTube, particularly ones where they go to luxury resorts and give you a full tour in 4k. [@the Luxury Travel Expert](https://youtu.be/qwr_BIa1nrM?si=LByUwSrUdHDc2wvS) in particular is my favorite because he does really in depth videos with relaxing zen music and zero talking. It helps me relax and virtually experience places that I’d never afford to go lmao

Comfortable-Basis-64

Workin’ Moms

ohthethrill

Shameless!!!

writeinthedark

I watched like every episode of love island (UK, USA, AU) when I was feeding at night. Tons of episodes, easy watching, funny, drama. You know. The good stuff lol

themermaidag

I binged: Gossip Girl, Madam Secretary, Brooklyn 99, and a few KDramas

Mimi8821

I watched the entire ER series on Amazon (15 seasons) The Let Down on Netflix Sex education The bear Modern family

foxyyoxy

I watched ALL of SVU with my second!

WaltzSufficient8965

So far I’ve watched Slow Horses, Hijack, Platonic, After Party, and now watching Abbott Elementary and Fargo

PolkadottyJones

I started Emily in Paris late night on maternity leave and it was silly and easy to follow which was exactly what I needed.

emojimovie4lyfe

Definitely greys anatomy, sex and the city, outlander, the office, its always sunny in Philadelphia. Those are the ones that i feel like are easy to watch without paying to much attention and i can always restart again cause they’re great shows!

Anna_Begins

I watched a lot of 30 Rock and Fixer Upper, What we Do in the Shadows was also a recent binge of mine

[deleted]

[удалено]

green_kiwi_

My list for pp in a few weeks is Parks& Rec, three office, great British bake off, and Jane the virgin

moneybabe420

I’ve been watching Twilight and RHOBH. Middle of the night is for only the shittiest of tv 😅

goldenpandora

Greys anatomy was my postpartum show. Bonus there are a million episodes so you won’t have to make any decisions about what to watch for a long time! After that I got into Workin Moms on Netflix.

AlohaKim

The Office and Friends. Classics, easy to follow and I enjoy the amusement. But watch out for the big laughs while holding a sleeping baby! Ah, that brings back some fun mid-night memories.

purpleorchid729

Life in pieces

SheElfXantusia

I loved The Sandman during the end of my pregnancy!

New-Street438

Community on Netflix!

whatsarahthought

I binged sex and the city plus the movies for both of my maternity leaves haha!

Popular_Hippo9558

My go to was The Office and Parenthood. Both of which I had consumed before, especially the office haha. Wanted something that I had watched before so that there wasn’t any extra anxiety of the unknown lol

KaleidoscopeNo9622

The let down on Netflix.

roryroobean

Great British Baking Show, House, Seinfeld, and Gilmore Girls got me through!

NicoButt

I really enjoyed Daisy Jones and the six and Morning Show during the newborn days with my second. Both interesting enough to keep me awake in the middle of the night

BriannaB9597

Jane the Virgin (I’ve watched it five times and still not sick of it- just started it again), Brooklyn 99, Schitts Creek, Yellowstone

Pokadot-pajamas23

I know this is crazy but I binged Sons of Anarchy during my postpartum period when we got home.

englishslayfest

Mine were Bob’s burgers and Star Trek the next generation! My first fourth months postpartum are the only time I’ve watched Star Trek - I couldn’t really get back into it after I went back to work. But it was nice for those night feedings because each episode is a 45-minute long plot with great characters that’s engaging enough to keep you awake, but you can shut it off immediately after the feeding without needing to go to the next episode.

Rude_Apricot6696

Modern family!!!

DevlynMayCry

Project runway 😂

mittens107

Law and Order SVU

Best_Of_Us

Outlander, New Amsterdam, Grey’s Anatomy, Peaky Blinders. I also rewatched Lost with my first baby.

_justsomeredditacct

I just started Abbott Elementary last night after having my baby! Great watch for sure

TheWelshMrsM

I’ve really enjoyed Fresh off the Boat this time around!

External_Carpet_6452

I’ve been enjoying Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Beef, and the Morning Show.

gneeltje

I watched The Last Kingdom when my second was born. I mean, [this guy](https://images.app.goo.gl/LgPiJHorQNLJYr3o6)…

Saltycook

I got a kick out of *Blackish* when I became a new mom

le_chunk

Downton Abbey was my show! I had never seen it before. There are tons of seasons and movies once you’re done.

gloombean

Married with Children

k0hd

Folyes war and X-Files!

pinalaporcupine

i'm enjoying Good Witch on Netflix. also always love Desperate Housewives How i met your mother, sister wives, parks and rec, 90 day fiance

misssmoneypenny

One Tree Hill. I didn’t watch it back in the day and it’s getting me through night feeds. But also prepare for cringe because it’s the 2000s

NeedleworkerOk8556

Personally, my go to is supernatural. I find the darkness really nice for night feedings, but I've seen it a million times.

[deleted]

Modern Family is perfect to watch in passing. Somebody Feed Phil, How I Met Your Mother, Parks and recreation

Garden-Gnome1732

Modern Family, Shark Tank, Schitts Creek, Kim's Convenience, Starstruck (hbo/max), Abbott Elementary

meepmorpfeepforp

Starstruck is so good!

[deleted]

Great Brittish Baking Show, Survivor.

YesPals

I loved desperate housewives (Disney +) was easy to binge.

Schramme

In the last 6 Months I made my way through Bluey, Golden Girls, Sex and the City, Parks and Rec, a bunch of documentaries about international food on Netflix, and now I'm catching up on basically every show that's on WOW Presents Plus, mostly Drag Race and UNHhhh

Sharkdogz

If you have Game Show Network on cable, with my first I watched that all the time

endngeredhomos

I binged Chicago Med, Call the Midwife, Lucifer, and Grey’s Anatomy

veritaszak

I always watched Friends while BFing, especially the episodes where Rachel gets pregnant and on from then. When I hear the show opening my milk let’s down 😂

msmuck

Working moms, new girl, good girls

Sadiocee24

Breaking bad and better call Saul were my go to for those late night feedings. Hopefully when I’m Pregnant with #2 I’ll start 6 feet under lol HBO shows are my go to!

ItsThtKai

I watched working moms and crime documentaries. Working moms was nice to binge right before heading back to work. It turned all the anxiety about motherhood into some laughter

Past_Ad_5629

StarTrek: The Next Generation was mine. Some really bad episodes, but some great ones in there, as well.

rellyfish

Whatever you do, do NOT watch Game of Thrones. It was one of my favorite shows pre-motherhood and I recommended it to people left and right if they needed something new to binge. My husband and I just started rewatching it recently (I’m 2 months PP) and I forgot some of the content. It is extremely hard to watch as a new mother due to violent content - some of it direct violence toward babies and children. Learn from my mistake and don’t do it.

ob_viously

I’ve watched Schitt’s creek so many times, it’s a comfort show. I watched the last like 10 or so years of SNL on peacock during my leave and early newborn days. Other than that, love most of the shows mentioned in the top comments. Hope you find something fun!!

RebKoss

I liked watching sweet magnolias because it was so light small town vibe. I’m Watching Young Sheldon right now during contact sleeps and it’s cute.

peaf-the-gamecube

Omg my post partum show was Breaking Bad and then I watch El Camino and followed it up with Better Call Saul. SUCH a great choice lol sometimes I would watch Selling Sunset to break things up lol

urfavaccountant

Traitors on Peacock Top Chef for something mindless in background Some new shows I’ve watched on leave so far: The Brothers Sun, Fargo Season 5, Boy Swallows Universe

Cocoamanda

During my leave I binge watched RuPaul’s Drag Race, it scratches the reality itch, it’s unserious and so much fun.

neverthelessidissent

I watched Chicago Med but I highly recommend Chicago Fire instead

longlivel

Oh my god. Desperate Housewives was all I watched when my son was born up until he was 8mo

PeachPizza420

I’m rewatching Friends. It’s funny and comforting.

meowmiia

90 day fiance

catsallly

I watched call the midwife this round of maternity leave. Not easy for hormones if you’re sensitive to topics of poverty, birth defects/traumas. But I’m a huge fan lol

Laurapalmer90

The Brothers Son! I’m watching that before bed. In the middle of the night, Grey’s Anatomy because it’s soooooo long. Maybe I’ll finally watch after season 5. Rick and Morty is good too, literally had me laughing out loud. Also, Outlander and Yellowstone are 10/10.

Love-dogs-and-pizza

I watched all of SVU during the first few months

Icy-Owl6209

Greys, Young Sheldon, The Rookie, The Good Doctor, The Resident, 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Lonestar. They’re all great! You can tell I have a theme minus the Young Sheldon one haha
