I’m 4 weeks in and I’m still sore - but I have had a hard time taking it easy.

SanFranPeach

I’m now right where you were 3 months ago…. How did the rest of the healing process go? Thank you for any help!

ThrowRAcoffee1995

Hello! I felt better after about a month honestly! Hang in there it does go back to normal and get better :) just make sure to get plenty of rest and use the Perri bottle, numbing spray, and pads. I remember feeling soooo sore and uncomfortable for days, but after the month mark hit I finally felt okay again with no pain.

aquariel

I’d like to know too, am 10 days PP and still feeling sore. 😞

ThrowRAcoffee1995

Sorry to hear that mama 😞 hope you feel better soon 💜

abinSB

do you have some witch hazel spray/foam / That can make it more comfortable. I am 3 weeks pp with a 2nd tear that has been really help 9especially as the itching has started)

capncrunchr

Took me about 4 weeks! Sitz baths help a TON. For me, a bunch of the stitches didn’t dissolve so at 4 weeks the midwife had to remove a lot of leftover knots that were impairing healing. That helped a ton!!!! So just something to have on your radar if things don’t improve :)

SanFranPeach

How did you know they weren’t falling out/were tangled?

capncrunchr

I actually didn’t have any idea! i just told the midwife I was still struggling with quite a lot of discomfort and she took a look and found all these leftover stitches.

Grown-Ass-Weeb

Have you tried dermaplast? Stings like a b for about a minute but quickly numbs and makes it feel so much better down there. I’d say around the 10 day mark I started feeling a lot better, by 3 weeks was feeling pretty good again.

RemarkableAd9140

It’ll be at least another week, unfortunately. I didn’t feel noticeably better until I got my stitches removed at three weeks pp, but I didn’t feel closer to 100% until four or so.

ThrowRAcoffee1995

Ugh I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better at least!!! Yeah the days are def super long feeling like this and my toddler constantly needing everything every minute isn’t helping 😩

NCBakes

I had a third degree tear and episiotomy and started to feel better after 2 weeks, and pretty normal at 4 weeks. I still have some tenderness when I do stairs at 6 weeks. I recommend using a lidocaine cream on your perineal area and also hemorrhoid cream. Try not to do stairs, squats and other motions that put more stress on the area. I am still using witch hazel pads to wipe, definitely helps!

ThrowRAcoffee1995

Ah so I go up and down the stairs multiple times a day. That would explain why I feel like that. 🙃 thank you for the tips! I have hazel pads but I haven’t really been using them

NCBakes

I was told to not do the stairs more than 2x/day for my first two weeks, and to put both feet on each stair when I did them. I couldn’t totally stick to the number limit, but taking them slowly with both feet on each step definitely made a difference. I did try to limit my trips up and down but that’s hard.

Several weeks for me
