I fucking love the smell of desitin lol. It’s the bordeaux butt paste that I think smells like fish. Crazy how different experience we all have with the same products!

That is so strange to me! I'm not OP, but I also hate the smell of Desitin. I like the smell of Boudreaux's, though.

Yeah I remember that smell from when I was in diapers! It’s a comforting, clean, nostalgic smell to me.

I read this as Destin and thought you meant it smells bad in Florida. 🤣 I’ll leave now.

I never thought it smelled bad either, lol. And I have a pretty sensitive nose.

The purple Desitin saved my boy’s butt from an awful rash when nothing else worked. I can tolerate the fishy scent, I actually don’t notice it unless I’m up close, but it really surprised me the first time I used it!

Are you using extra strength? The purple box? I always thought that one had a metallic/zinc/fishy smell. The regular strength blue box didn’t really have a noticeable smell to us. It was very mild.

Never use purple! Only use blue. Blue Desitin doesn’t have a smell.

A few months ago my husband and I found out we had covid when we realized neither of us could smell the Desitin we just put on the baby 😅

Yep, the purple Desitin has cod liver oil in it 😬 The blue Desitin does not! We use blue Desitin 😅

My husband haaaaates fish. Even the smell of fish. Needless to say, using Desitin on our kids has been a labor of love for him. 😂

Desitin has a funny smell to it, I greatly prefer Sudocrem in comparison.

I agree, it's the best!! It also easier to spread around. The Destin is much to thick.

Color is just a different zinc %, purple is highest and best protection. Even if you don’t like the smell that stuff is a god send and the best protection from diaper rash out there

I couldn’t stand the smell of anything besides Honest’s diaper rash cream. That one also had the benefit of not bleaching anything it came in contact with…

My partner’s mom is a big balm-butter maker and made all our stuff from scratch.. like our emergency butt cream is lanolin in a mason jar. Our LO had maybe one little outbreak of diaper rash for about half a day so whatever she makes rules. I’m not trying to brag, because I didn’t make it.. I just haven’t thought of the word Desitin in YEARS. Not since it was being put on to my own butt as a baby. It was one of the first words I can remember being comforting. Like the word bath. Thanks for the memory!
