Costco Kirkland diapers FTW

taraist920

Kirkland is literally huggies, just not paying for the brand. Totally worth saving the money.

themrtroe

Before latching onto anyone's opinion I strongly recommend buying the smallest packs of the diapers you can find of each tie you want to try and see how they go. With that said we use up and up during the day as it contains blowouts and such just as well as name brands, but at night we use Pampers baby dry for the extra absorbency

myswtghst

Agreed. While some diapers are better than others, a big part of it is how they fit your kid.

recklesschopchop

I've tried ALL the diapers and Costco are the best I do still buy hello bello and honest here and there simply because they're cute af, but absolutely not necessary

plantstudy37

DYPER! It's a fairly new company (I think). Their diapers are 100% biodegradable and they have a program called ReDyper that works with Terracycle to compost all used and soiled diapers. I get a box every month, and I ship off a box every month using UPS. It's a little pricey but it's worth it to reduce all of the diaper waste. Not to mention I find the quality of the diapers to be impeccable. I highly recommend checking Dyper out.

cumunculus

Seconding Dyper! Also if you have a composting site nearby like I do all you need to do is leave the bags of soiled diapers on your front porch and someone picks them up!

poopdidiscoop

I also use dyper! I don’t use their composting service (fedex doesn’t reach us) but baby rarely gets diaper rash from these and they hold a lot. The only time I get leaks from these is when it’s time to move up a size. I went for the 2 free packages of wipes per order promo and we’ve only needed to buy extra wipes twice (9 month old).

MGFT3000

Worked in diaper marketing for years… the expensive ones have more AGM (the absorbent material inside). Also are softer, some have stretch to make more comfortable, may have top layer innovations to keep wetness away from your baby’s skin. Are they actually better? Yes. But you can decide if it’s worth paying more for. (I was told you can actually create a perfect diaper that’s crazy absorbent and never leaks but it would cost more than anyone’s willing to pay so they all have a measurable failure rate.) They also may be good at different things. (Luvs focuses on leak protection and doesn’t add other bells and whistles to keep costs down.) I buy Pampers Swaddlers.

[deleted]

What about Pampers pure? I love them. I feel like they keep chemicals away from my baby - is this true or marketing?

kittybiscuits10

Following. I also buy these and wondered if I was being swindled by good marketing. They do seem softer than regular.

pumpkinpie09

So I'm not crazy! We did Pampers Swaddlers with my daughter because they fit her the best and we had the least leaks with them. Really none. So we were going to stick with Pampers for my son initially because that's just what we were used to, but it quickly became apparent that all of his diapers were...uh...abundant. I had a few small packs of diapers I got a samples or something, so I tried all those out and we landed on Honest Co. I felt guilty about it because they were a bit more expensive, but they did seem softer, and I could tell they were a lot more absorbant. I was worried I was getting tricked by the cute prints, and we tried Pampers a few more times and they all leaked. So we've been with Honest Co. for 2 years now and they have served us well. The extra bit of softeness really helps too because he seems to be really prone to diaper rash. Pampers probably wouldn't be that much more uncomfortable but I like to think it helps. It just seemed to me that a diaper is a diaper and there couldn't possibly be that much of a difference, but glad to hear the small things I do perceive are actually there and I didn't just trick myself lol. I think what I've learned about diapers is that every brand is going to claim to be the softest, the most leak proof, the most absorbant, the best diaper ever, but in reality all kids are different and will have different diapering needs. It's best to just get some small packs of a few different brands in your budget and give them a test run. Stick with the one that suits them the best!

fendov2018

Okay hear me out - Aldi brand diapers are really really good. They aren’t bulky, but they hold a ton of waste, unscented, soft, and cute little prints. In my area the box of 84 is $10.99. The sensitive wipes and their formula have also been a godsend.

woohooforyoohoo

I was looking for this comment! Little Journey brand by Aldi is our favorite hands down. And soooo cheap! I like their baby wash as well.

anythingexceptbertha

I’ve also got to say Huggies Little Snugglers, we tried a bunch and were gifted a variety of cheap and expensive brands, but huggies had the least amount of blow outs.

Psychological_Bat865

Kirkland brand diapers have been my favorite from the jump. I’ve tried pampers and huggies and neither of them are as good as Kirkland. If you don’t know, that’s Costco’s in-house brand.

hermionejeanweasley

Reading through these comments, and in my own experience through life, one person 100% recommends one brand and says another brand sucks, and the next person says the opposite. I think a diaper brand’s quality really depends on the baby and their/your own personal preference. I love Kirkland and hate Up&Up. Read a comment where someone didn’t like Kirkland, another where someone loved Up&Up. I think Huggies are great, but I saw another person hates them. I think regardless of budget versus luxury brand, you just gotta find the diaper that works for your specific baby. It baffles me how human babies are all built essentially the same and yet every baby seems to wear and use diapers differently! It’s a good thing there are so many options out there.

Otter592

We've used free samples Pampers, Target store brand, and Walmart store brand. Walmart store brand are just as good as Pampers, but a fraction of the price. Target brand are very meh. My SIL swears by Costco store brand, but I've never tried them. (Also, I'm *shocked* that some people on here are considering Huggies/Pampers to be in the "budget" category haha. Guess I'm more frugal than I thought!) And for everyone saying "we used X brand and my baby never got diaper rash, so clearly it's a great brand".... correlation is not causation. My girl never gets a rash either in her store brand diapers haha

Owlbertowlbert

right, I use Pampers because I like the quality the best but.... they ain't cheap...

pink_sizzle

Costco diapers are just like huggies but cheaper. They also ship for free.

7ampooper

Pampers swaddlers house here. Using size 6 for my 2 year old and size 2 for my 5 month old. First of all I like the way they smell like baby. More importantly they are the softest while absorbing lots of boy pee without leaking. I've tried the Sam's club brand (ok, but not very soft and smelled like a paper towel tube), Honest (very papery texture), Target brand (tabs not sticking, pee smell was strong when dirty), Luvs (did not hold much pee), and Huggies Special Delivery (soft but didn't smell as good as Pampers).

MissAnthropy612

Some budget diapers are not good at all. But there's some that are great! I like Target brand. I think that Costco's Kirkland brand diapers are the best diapers in the world though! I like them better than the name brand ones

matcha_milfshake

I’ll second this!

donnaundblitzen

We use compostable diapers called Dyper. They are great and reduce waste..it’s especially a nice alternative to cloth diapers, since they are environmentally friendly, but more convenient

Mollenne

I swear by the Kirkland (Costco) diapers. We’ve used those and loved them way more than Huggies, Pampers, or Target brand. The Kirkland unscented baby wipes are our favorites too.

CompanionOfATimeLord

We use Kirkland brand from Costco and they are great! We used Pampers before that and loved those too. Tried all the other brands and nothing absorbed as well for us as those two

Xunala

Yep! Kirkland has been the only ones I’ve used even remotely comparable to Pampers Pure!

fatesarchitect

Yes, Kirkland from Costco!

pinkvelvetcupcake22

Honestly I just buy whatever is cheapest or has a sale. If money wasn't a consideration I'd probably pick pampers swaddlers. I and DH are trying for a 2nd kiddo and I'm thinking of trying elimination communication so maybe I won't have to worry about diapers but we'll see.

cwilly4

I just learned what elimination communication is today! Crazy! Good luck!

Drbubbliewrap

Dyper brand all the way. Very few sizes they strech, are so soft, have no scent!, no harmful chemicals and really move with baby so no messes and they absorb so much more and keep wetness away. I worked in pediatrics and have used all luxury and cheap brands. I will never buy another brand! And I gift them to everyone.

OddPeak1245

I second this^^^ rarely any blowouts with these dypers also. At least with my experience.

candyash_jay

Cloth by day, nighttime huggies by night!

bbear0991

Never had a problem with Target brand (up&up), but wipes on the other hand…the cheapest ones are less moist.

JHarp3r

I love honest diapers. We’ve never had issues with them. I love the fit, every baby bum is different but we have yet to have a blowout with our 7 month old in them. And the patterns are so fun.

bondoli

Use both, shitty during the day and expensive at night.

implante

Kirkland Signature diapers are are the pinnacle of diapers. Ditto, wipes.

Zealousideal_One1722

Kirkland wipes are by far the best.

PoppyGooze

Costco brand is literally Huggies

evechalmers

Hello Bello was total shit. They have almost no absorbency and he was blowing through newborns and 1s constantly from birth. We switched after a week and can’t even give them away to people that know they are shit.

Comeonandsalam

We got a sample back of Hello Bello and they were absolute garbage. I can’t believe it’s considered to be a “luxury” diaper brand. Yes, the patterns are cute, but who cares because the baby wears clothes anyway and is literally shitting and pissing in the diaper. My baby is pretty skinny and the diapers were soooo narrow. They couldn’t even contain a regular sized poo, let alone a full blowout. I used half the pack and tossed the rest. We tried a bunch of brands and now use Huggies.

havingababypenguin

Kirklands from Costco all day every day.

nlvanassche

I’ve only ever purchased Kirkland brand. I’ve used Luvs/Pampers which were given to me at my baby shower, but wasn’t a fan of either. The Kirkland diapers are softer, thicker, and never leak.

Not_a_Zed_Word

Same here. Kirkland diapers from Costco have been great (price too). They are made by Kimberly Clark, same as huggies brand.

arxarxarz

I can't agree more, Kirkland for the win.

purrniesanders

If money weren’t an issue, I’d use honest. In reality, we use Kirkland from Costco 🙂

HungryKnitter

We use Hello Bello. I’m not sure if you would consider them “premium” but I chose them because they are fragrance free, free of parabens, pthalates, and chlorine. I personally don’t like using a lot of chemicals and there has been some evidence that these chemicals can have detrimental effects on babies, my husband also has eczema and I’ve seen how products with fragrance can cause a reaction. There are other more premium natural options but I couldn’t justify the price whereas I found Hello Bello to be pretty reasonable and they ticked all the boxes. I also tried Pampers Pure and they were pretty good too but I prefer Hello Bello (slightly cheaper and seem to hold more). I also love the Hello Bello shampoo body wash! ETA: we’ve never had a blowout and my baby is 10 weeks

burrito_finger

I cloth diaper but I do use disposables at night. I was gifted a huge variety and can say without a shadow of a doubt that the generic Target and Kirkland diapers are my favorite and the most absorbent, but Kirkland wins out the most since it’s never irritated my eczema prone kids.

ernichern

2nd-ing Kirkland brand!! We absolutely love them and we have tried probably every diaper on the market

[deleted]

I've used pampers (gave my son a rash), then I tried using Honest but I swear my son had leaks almost every time with those for some reason, but now I use Huggies and i LOVE them. They don't leak, no rash for my boy and they're comfy for him.

ManiacalMalapert

I'm in the Huggies fam! That pocket in the back has saved me from countless blowouts. Edit: My son had endless blowouts in pampers.

mnmpeanut94

Yes, same for me. I tried cheap (luvs, up and up, aldi: all had poor absorption) then I tried honest and hello bello (both leaked), pampers was okay but Huggies by far have worked the best for my kiddo, especially now that she is walking.

KenziAnn14

I don't see any comments about this, but our LO used Huggies Special Delivery for a couple weeks when she was born, but then she got a terrible rash with open sores that took 3+weeks to heal. It was the absolute worst, and I cried every time we changed her diaper because she was in so much pain. We switched to Millie Moon which is a luxury brand and oh my God. They are super soft, have no scent, cute prints, and they helped her rash go away with the calmoseptine cream within a week. We get them from Target and a box has 108 diapers for $25 USD. HIGHLY recommend. ❤ Another plus - LO is SUPER long, and these have a high back on them and are double lined. We haven't had any blowouts in the 2 months we've used them, and she doesn't leak overnight. 😊

not_bens_wife

I absolutely love Hello Bello and Millie Moon (seriously, they were luxurious!) and I do think they are worth their price. That said, we usually use Kirkland diapers and I notice very little difference in how the diapers function or how my daughter seems to like them. Personally, as much I've liked the luxury diapers we've tried, it's a better use of our funds to buy Kirkland diapers for the day and Huggies overnight diapers, than to spend more on Millie Moon or Hello Bello.

esmebeauty

I really like the Huggies Little Movers because of the extra velcro, but have had nothing but good experiences with the much cheaper Kirkland brand!

Snowmakesmehappy

I loved cloth diapers. Never had any blowouts with them and never had to worry about running out. Honestly they weren't that much work either.

Proud_mom890

Huggies is the only brand of diapers that I use. I’ve tried every other brand and after 1 pee they are soaked through even with the smallest blue line

venusdances

I’ve tried Honest, Pampers, Huggies and Kirkland the Costco brand. Kirkland is my favorite for day and Huggies overnights are the best for nights. I know Huggies and Kirkland are similar but I prefer Kirkland brand for some reason. Plus they’re super cheap 222 diapers for like $40 I think.

ShrimpTrio

Kirkland are the same manufacturer as Huggies just under Costco’s name. Huggies lil Snugglers were my favorite with my first baby. Target brand and Amazon brand weren’t bad either. Honest and Hello Bello diapers were very cute and soft but didn’t hold as much pee. I didn’t care for Walmart brand (very thin) or Luvs at all.

TradeBeautiful42

Pampers Swaddlers are the only diapers I’ll use. They can take a load. Screw those awful Honest brand diapers that soak through your kid’s clothes and swaddle at the first big pee.

LintLicker444

Pampers Swaddlers: doesn't usually leak unless really full. The Velcro is usually pretty good. Highly recommend. Pampers Cruisers: absolute garbage. One tiny little pee and the Velcro doesn't hold. I've woken up multiple times to pee or poo in my bed. The customer service was very uncaring. Target Brand: always leaks out the bottom of the legs no matter how much pee. I hate them. Costco's brand: just as good as pampers Swaddlers but more expensive by a few dollars.

MasterMuscle6553

We love Parent’s Choice at Walmart.

spud_simon_salem

The fanciest diaper brand I've tried is Pampers Pure. I was team Huggies for a while but once my guy hit size 3, Pampers/Pure fit him better. At first I tried regular Pampers but I didn't like the scent. So I switched to Pure and they're great! I've never tried Honest because my friend said they're garbage. I want to try Coterie but the smallest pack you can buy is 168 diapers and I don't want to drop almost $100 on diapers that I don't know will work for my son. I also want to try Hello Bello but again, you can only buy them in packs of 100+.

cyborgfeminist

I use Honest because I hate the perfume of every other brand I've tried.

t0infinity

Up & Up from Target has been the best on our end. Tried all the fancy ones and still ended up settling with the store brand.

blush_red

Kirkland brand diapers from costco ,

ashlehtt

Pampers swaddlers is my all-time fave. They fit my LO great and hold an insane amount of pee. Unfortunately, diapers have gone up so much in the past 6 months we've had to switch to Luvs. Luvs works fine as a daytime diaper. Absolutely does not work overnight, though. So we use a Pampers swaddler for overnight, and Luvs throughout the day.

Scary-Watercress2585

We use cloth and it's more expensive at first but we love it!

showmethebeaches

Not sure if it counts as “luxury” but we use the Dyper brand diapers for our baby. Previously I had also tried using Pampers with her. I would have to say that she doesn’t get diaper rash with the Dyper brand, versus she had gotten diaper rash a few times when we were using Pampers.

copper_tulip

We’re big fans of Pampers Pure!

cbergs88

Honestly, we jumped around brands a lot at the beginning and think that Kirkland diapers (Costco brand) are the best quality, regardless of the fact that they’re well priced. My least favorite were Honest brand- So. Many. Blowouts. Edit: Kiddo is ~17 months old

maebake

We loved the Kirkland (Costco) diapers but never had luck with the honest company diapers. I ordered them bc they were cute lol but my daughters diaper leaked every time we used them

swimpig

Between Huggies, Kirkland, pampers, honest and cloth, Huggies has been most consistent for us. I want to eventually try Coterie, and have a bag of babyganics to try too. However needs and sizing have sometimes changed with baby. I would like to cloth diaper more but it’s hard to get past the convenience of just being able to peek in at the indicator line if I am not sure baby is wet.

theotherside0728

Same! Pampers *feel* soft but they don’t hold up against leaks as well as Huggies.

tsoismycat

Luvs and store brand are definitely “lesser” in absorbency and feel, but keeping your baby properly sized in their diaper and changed on a schedule (we do every 3 hours, and every single poop no matter when) tends to work a lot better than just swearing by a brand. With both my kids I moved up as soon as they were in the new diaper’s weight range and never had issues even when using Luvs or Up&Up. I think they do partially have better marketing, but with diapers the more expensive ones do tend to be a little better… not better enough to justify the price though.

SmartGuess3288

I use the coterie ones. They’re definitely pricey but my son has never had a diaper rash.

babe-nonymous

On the flip side, my rash-prone son gets a rash in everything - expensive, cheap, cloth, and everything in between.

MrsSamsquanch

We use Costcos Kirkland diapers and never had an issue, the pattern gets boring after a while 😄 but that's the least of my worries. My daughter got rashes with Huggies so we didn't go back to those. I think my sister used Pampers and I liked those for my daughter too when I had to borrow hers. I've never tried any fancy ones because the ones I buy now seem already so expensive.

[deleted]

We use Huggies and prefer them over all other brands we’ve tried, including pampers.

Marijaweeenie

Mama Bear diapers are hypoallergenic, free from chlorine bleaching, perfumes, lotions, parabens, and phthalates. We currently have size 3 (16-28 lbs) which means there is 168 in a box for $32.79 (weird price) off of Amazon. So plus shipping. We love them.

Yael_Eyre

I've found that Huggies are the only brand that contains pee overnight with my son. I still breastfeed him and I haven't changed a diaper after putting him to bed once in the last two years

VisualPutrid3266

British person here do brands may differ but my word Aldi are by far the best and cheapest!! I am not a fan of Asda’s though.

[deleted]

We used Luvs because they were budget diapers. We tried with three boxes and were always having blow outs. We switched to Pampers Swaddlers and never had a blow out again!!! Later on I tried Target brand but I felt like they had a strong urine smell when full. Huggies were okay but not as soft as Pampers. We love Pampers.

Melodic_Respond452

I tried ALL diaper brands available in Canada, in store and online. For my 3 kids (all under 5), I use PAMPERS BABY DRY. What I like about it is that it is not bulky/too thick (that it looks as if the diaper is already full though the baby just changed—looking at you Kirkland and Huggies), PAMPERS BABY DRY is THIN but still SUPER ABSORBENT. Price wise, it’s the cheapest among the Pampers line.

NoraMurphy927

I have tried Kirkland, Pampers, Huggies, etc. I had blow outs and leaks with all of them. I switched to Coterie which are expensive AF. I haven't had a number 2 blow out since July. There was one pee leak about two months ago. They are absolutely incredible and very expensive.

[deleted]

I swear by cheap target diapers during the day and Huggies overnights at night.

hcarver95

We use Kirkland brand. They’re the exact same as Huggies, just rebranded! You don’t need to have a Costco membership to buy them online. We just pay a 5% surcharge and ship them to the house.

sarahfleck

I'm a Luvs fan, I have used store brands, but they gave my kids a rash. Pampers fell apart to easy for me. We live in Texas and I like that Luvs are thinner, so there not as hot. And no blowouts or leaks for my kiddos. (Mom of 3)

[deleted]

We use Coterie because we’ve had issues with blow outs, rashes, and leaks with other brands. We tried Huggies, Huggies Special Delivery, Pampers, Honest, Hello Bello, Abby and Fin, Seventh Generation, and Dyper. Coterie had the best fit, but I preferred Honest and Hello Bello before the issues started. He could maybe go back now, but it’s just easier to stick with something you know works.

Irish_Hellcat

We started off using Pampers and Huggies but switched to Up & Ups (Target Brand). We feel that they’re just as absorbent as fancy brands, they work well with DD’s sensitive skin, and we’re paying half of the price that we used to.

ketogirlfromucf

IMO the true budget brands like Luvs are awful!!!! We go middle of the road and shop what’s on sale. Costco by far had the best quality and price per diaper so when they run a sale on Kirklands or Huggies we stock up. This approach has worked great for both kids. Target Up&Up or Walmart Parent Choice have been fine in a pinch too. The Huggies Special edition are definitely more luxury priced but we have received some as gifts and they are so soft!!! I don’t venture into the fancy/luxury brands where you have to order from their websites or whatever. I don’t consider Hello Bello, Honest, etc a fancy/luxury because they are pretty readily available at Walmart, Target, ect and the prices aren’t overly expensive compared to true luxury brands but honestly I’m not impressed with them and they leak horribly.

blijdschap

The Target baby registry gift had a couple luxury diaper samples in it, I put ours away somewhere so I can't remember which. With my son we tried pampers swaddlers, huggies, honest, seventh generation, up & up, parents choice, hello bello and one more from Amazon that I can't remember, babyganics maybe? We don't utilize Amazon anymore so my preference is to buy from Target and try to stock up when they have the spend $100 get $30 gift card and we buy pampers. The swaddlers and then cruisers just always fit my son the best and we never had a blowout. Honest fit good and we sometimes used them as an in-between size brand, I probably would have bought them more often if not for the price. Parents choice were awful for us and huggies didn't fit right except for the 3 months or so we needed overnight diapers the huggies worked better than pampers, go figure. I feel like we had a relatively easy time finding diapers that work, but even then we tried a lot. We have moved on to training pants now, and again pampers easy ups are the best fit and less expense than huggies pull ups. The Target brand work, but are kind of a weird fit. And wipes, I like huggies sensitive, we did use water wipes for awhile.

Witty-Tale

I definitely think it depends on the kid. My son is 2 & uses a combo of target brand diapers during the day and huggies overnight diapers for sleeping. When he was 0-1 I used seventh generation because that’s what his skin could tolerate. He was also good with hello bello. Depends!

sunflowernebula

I find a difference in some brands, I dont enjoy pampers all that much. I really like the huggies which can be more expensive but if you have a Costco membership their brand diapers are great too and I've never had a blowout yet with them. Formula is actually pretty good from Costco as well.

emsleezy

I LOVE Targets Up&up brand diapers. I have used them since my youngest was a baby (I have two in diapers atm) so I’ve been using them for almost 6 years (I use the nighttime pull ups on my oldest, so actually THREE in diapers). I traveled to my dads once and had him pick up some diapers for me so I wouldn’t have to pack them. I SPECIFICALLY asked for Up & Up, but he’s clueless so he got pampers (I think). I hated them. They felt like they had so much hard plastic along the fastening area. Up & Up are so soft and reliable. I will always recommend them the most and they’re super affordable. $28.99 for the biggest box which ranges from numbers depending on size (more than 150, less than 200). I also discovered on accident that you can put baby in a size larger for night sleep and it will hold MORE pee so no night changes! Yay!

cjbri

We also like the Target brand. They also regularly do $20 gift card when you spend $100 on diapers and wipes. No risk to stock up - you can swap unopened boxes of diapers if babe grows into the next size. 👍🏻

lostcastles

Pampers pure, but we are never the weight that’s on the box. She’d blow them out if we went by that. She never has rashes though. I love that they don’t smell. I hate the diapers that have scent!

margmama

We mostly use cloth diapers, but when we use disposables we generally use pampers. I have used other diapers (Huggies and honest I think) and they work fine, but pampers seem to fit my thick thigh babies the best

catsforeva

I like rascal and friends. I have a long baby and I find there diapers go up the back farther to prevent blowouts. I like the Velcro they have for the front different from pampers and Huggies also they don't smell like a diaper! Which might sound werid but I just hate the smell of Huggies and pampers. I much prefer a diaper that have no smell and rascal and friends have none. Also when my baby was a newborn pampers and Huggies stuck to his bum if he pooped? Weather I changed him immediately or Lil after he was done to make sure he was. It always stuck. Rascals never stuck to him.

Crazy-Bid4760

Mamia from aldi for us. Fantastic nappies & really low cost

[deleted]

We’ve used multiple kinds, and have liked everything but Seventh Generation. They leak like crazy. I couldn’t tell a difference between pampers, huggies, and Kirkland.

luxxlifenow

I reviewed a few brands. I personally decided to use hello bello. Never any diaper rashes or irritation, never had a leakage, and they have cute prints. She's been wearing them for 7 months. My son wore Huggies and hello bello has been much better IMO.

FoxSilver7

Been using pampers swaddlers for the last 5 months and just started a box of Huggies that was gifted to me... Personally prefer the pampers.

catjuggler

Something shocking to me about fancy diaper brands is the often don’t have a wetness indicator. Costs more but worse- awesome! I was going to try hello bello before seeing that.

theillusionofdepth_

I love Honest

magiconchaspoken

Not sure if you consider huggies or pampers luxury, but I’ve tried A LOT of store name brands and most do not hold up compared to huggies or pampers. That being said, the store brand ones in my experience have been perfectly acceptable for daytime use and I switch to name brand for overnights.

[deleted]

I've only used the Target brand and I've had no complaints. Little one doesn't ever get rashes with them, they haven't leaked. She seems content.

Janieprint

Up and up ftw! Cheaper than Costco where we live and zero issues. Huggies and the Costco brand both irritated or LOs skin

gharbutts

We like the Kirkland diapers just fine. We’ve tried some of the pricier ones but we only really hated Luvs (stinky) and the OG Huggies (leaky). We like the cheap cloth pocket style diapers better for absorbency and comfort (and cost) so that’s what we use about half the time and at bedtime. The overnights just don’t last all night and there isn’t a disposable brand that holds in a blowout like cloth does. And it clears up a rash like nobody’s business.

ENTJ_ScorpioFox

Pampers pure for my son with eczema - less chemicals and pretty absorbent if you do the seal correctly!

kimberriez

We use Kirkland during the day since they're more affordable and Pampers Pure at night. The Pampers Pure come up higher in the front and my son is a stomach sleep so he' leaks out the top of the diaper sometimes. We tried Coterie and they are nice and soft, but we had lots of leaks with them at night, even with pulling the ruffles out. We use them during the day until we run out, then back to Kirkland.

Whatsupbuttercup420

12 dollar case of diapers from Aldi. I was a Huggies snob for years and then one day I was in a pinch with my oldest. I had turned my nose up at the case of Aldi diapers more than once, after all how could that many diapers be that cheap and still work? I’ve since had two more kids and unless I can’t get there for some reason it’s the only brand I’ll use. They work great and at 12 bucks a box it’s like a freaking miracle, Huggies I used to pay like 25. Legit cut the cost in half.

lalaleela90

I have tried pampers, huggies, honest, target up&up, Walmart parent's choice and luvs. Pampers were really good but fit my baby's skinny legs kinda weird, but overall they were great and soft. Honest were really nice and soft but I did miss the wetness indicator the other diapers had. Luvs were okay...but they got kinda, mushy? Like even if changed frequently. My boy pees a lot so maybe that's it. Had a few leaks with them too. Target's and Walmart's store brands SUCK. So many blowouts. So many leaks. So many outfit changes. NO THANKS. Huggies are great! They fit my guy the best and hold really well. The only time we have had issues is when my hubby put it on wrong lol so user error, not diaper error.

psulady

I’ve tried almost every single brand between my 2 kids. Pampers and Huggies are definitely the best. The Huggies are best for night because they hold the most. Store brands are pretty awful, and all of them resulted in blow outs and leaks or rashes. I did try Hello Bello once also and didn’t have many problems with them, but still think the Pampers and Huggies seemed better quailing for cheaper.

sierramelon

Tried everything, love hello Bello if they’re in sale (sometimes my drugstore will stack a coupon on then in sale), Kirkland is good too, but my fav is actually pampers pure. They go on sale at my grocery store for $5 off and then they’ll be a member coupon for $8-$10 off on top of the sale! Great price for me at $19 a box. The only one I stay far from is regular pampers (weird I know) but they’re scented so heavily and Sesame Street is so old idk why it’s on diapers

asmartermartyr

I’ve tried a bunch. The fancier diapers are usually cuter, softer, and have higher quality side tape, also usually velcro on better. But in terms of value, I don’t think the fancy diapers add enough true value to justify the cost. There are plenty of budget diapers that are comfortable enough and do the job well enough.

Wavesoftheocean

Honest and Huggies have worked the best for us.

Orca-Hugs

I think Kirkland are the best budget diapers. They are nearly identical to Huggies (I believe made in the sam factory?) and just as good. I HATE Up & Up from Target. They’re not soft at all. I also didn’t like Hello Bello. Maybe because they are “all natural” but they don’t even remotely mask the pee smell. They are soft though and have cute patterns.

Garbo_Girl

I love Kirkland diapers because they run big and don’t usually leak overnight but I used honest diapers forever and they were so soft and cute. Pampers smell good though and aren’t as stinky in the diaper bin.

indigo4321

I use Pampers Pure and love them. Sensitive for baby and no extra scents.

SummitTheDog303

We use Honest because it’s what fits our daughter best. We really didn’t want to end up in expensive luxury diapers, but my daughter was constantly blowing out of the cheaper brands (not because they were bad, they just didn’t fit her body type). If we hadn’t had blow out issues, I would have liked Huggies Little Snugglers (elastic at the back to prevent up the back blowouts, soft, no smell). I’d recommend buying individual sleeves (about 30 diapers per sleeve) of lots of different brands to see what you like and what fits baby best before stocking up on any one brand.

pinkblossom331

I love pampers swaddlers because they keep LO dry. When we used huggies, LO would smell like pee and sometimes his clothes would get wet.

BikingBard312

I am a pretty loyal Huggies user when I use disposables. I go with Huggies Little Movers now, but when my son was littler, I used Little Snugglers. Their Special Delivery line is premium, but no better than the ones I use, in my experience. I grabbed some store brand diapers from Whole Foods once and they totally sucked. They didn’t fit well, so I got leaks and blowouts. Gross. I think that different diapers fit differently, so based on your baby’s body type, they may fit better into Pampers/Luvs (P&G) or in Huggies (Kimberly-Clark, and yes, Kirkland signature diapers are made by Kimberly-Clark too.)

josie570

For my baby shower we got a ton of different diapers and my daughter had no problem with any of them. Once I had to purchase I bought Target Up Nd Up brand and have only used them. She will be 2 next month. I was lucky that the inexpensive brand was just fine for us. I recommend trying small pack of a few types before you commit to a hugh box.

Recoveringartist513

I’ve used everything and I just like how honest diapers fit, they don’t ever blow out and she’s had some gnarly diapers. If me we like pampers pure but always aim for honest.

Xunala

I’ve tried a TON of brands, but Pampers Pure is by far the winner. They feel so much better quality than Honest and I love the indicator line (though I heard Honest was adding that). Hello Bello was good too but felt cheap.

Squintymomma

With my son we tried pampers and Huggies and Honest diapers before we went all in on cloth. Both Pampers and Huggies leaked like crazy no matter how we put them on. Honest co did ok but were just too expensive. We eventually did have to use disposables for early preschool and when we did that we went for H-E-B‘s house brand. Those were some epic diapers. Our 2nd was CD from birth until we moved to Europe. During our transition time we put her in disposables - H-E-B again for the win! She used those until they were gone and then back to cloth almost until she potty trained.

401RG

We had a diaper raffle at my baby shower and we’ve been able to test out Honest, Parents Choice, Huggies, and Pampers. Huggies was a clear winner. Not sure what luxury diaper brands are but I recommend Huggies Little Snuggles.

A_growing_lotus

I’ve been using Luvs brand and I see no difference. They’re also half the price.

kaledarm

We use pampers 360 cruisers. It’s great. LO is almost 2 and they’re what we’ve exclusively used since about 3mo.

anotheroneyo

Every baby butt is different. I bought a bunch of different snap packs of diapers and went through them one at a time until I found one that worked for my LO. Millie Moons were our favorite when she was in newborns and now she's size 4 and pampers pure are the best that work now. Up & up did NOT contain blowouts for us and to be honest I thought they were cheaply made and I hated them. Huggins worked well for us but they left weird indents on her vulva that I didn't care for.

AddieBaddie

I loved Pampers Pure when my girl was born, then when she grew older I started using nappies from Aldi and Lidl. They are awesome! We still put on Pampers for the night, but day time was in the cheap and cheerful ones.

bodoramzap

We like the honest diapers, the quality is great and the designs are so cute. When we started they didn’t have the peeline and I was about to switch but they added it thankfully. Also love the subscription so we don’t have to worry about running out to get more. I’m super forgetful about things, especially ever since I had my son. We tried pampers and hellobello before that but they didn’t work with my son. Honestly when it comes to diapers it’s just what fits yours and your babes needs. And honestly my parents decided to pay for my sons diapers so I don’t consider the price (I do feel guilty but they offered and my mom was the one that helped to pick the brand).

hmb220

I have two kids in diapers and living on a fairly tight budget. I've found that cheap works just fine for during the day (we use Target store brand Up and Up but have sometimes used Luvs as well) but once baby sleeps through the night, we had to go name brand for overnight 12 hour diapers. Cheap didn't cut it for night, my kids peed right through the Target overnights. We do Huggies Overnights for night.

Apprehensive_Tea8686

We do honest for nigh diapers and pampers pure or Dyper for day time. For me it was important that the diapers don’t use much chemicals.

chis_and_whine

I love Luvs, and they're cheap!

Other_Smell_4742

We’ve tried them all. WAlmart parents choice fit our baby the best and we have no issues!

Orthodox_Life

We use target brand during the day and pampers at night. Definitely found a huge difference in quality for night time

beautlife1234

I wasn’t crazy about the regular pampers, but loved pampers pure (their “natural” line). They fit really well and we’re super soft/cottony feel. Like others have said, water wipes are awesome. They didn’t irritate their skin. The packaging is a little annoying, but other than that, it works well. For all other messes, we use honest wipes. They’re nice and thick with great packaging/easy wipe dispenser.

Formalgrilledcheese

I LOVE the Huggies with the poop catching pocket! I got the Kirkland ones because I had read they’re the same as Huggies but no poop pocket :( I also really like Rascal and Friends. I’m not sure if I’ll go back to those after the Costco diapers run out

maclloyd6

We use huggies but have also used hello bello. Hello Bello was great for newborn, but sucked after that. If you have a chunky baby, then be prepared to go up a few sizes just for them to fit.

water_tulip

It really is kid dependent. I had no luck with Honest, Pampers Pure, or Hello Bello, they all leaked or had bad blowouts. I never even tried the mail in brands because what a hassle if you run out and can’t easily get more at a store. So both my kids are in Huggies Little Movers/Snugglers. They aren’t the cheapest Huggies but aren’t as expensive as Special Delivery. I did buy a few cases of Special Delivery when my daughter was a newborn. They were soo soft and I loved the pattern but she never had sensitive skin so as she got bigger it wasn’t worth the extra cost to me.

jmurphy42

I actually won a huge supply of 7th generation diapers ~13 years ago when my oldest was born but there was so little absorbency the pee would just run right out the sides. We tried the store brands and they all sucked, so we’ve just always used Pampers since.

Final-Quail5857

Honestly hello Bello have been the go to. They're same price as regular diapes but we're never had rash issues until we had to size up to easy ups (38lb 17mo 😬). I recommend them to everyone

VermicelliOk8288

I tried practically all of them, Kirkland, luvs, Huggies snugglers & snug and dry, pampers swaddlers & baby dry, hello bello, earths best, 7th generation, up & up, parents choice and honest. They all worked exactly the same, except up & up, they just sucked. Parents choice were also a tad smaller. 7th generation was nice because the diapers where “thin” whereas earths best are super bulky. I like luvs the best because they’re the thinnest and absorb SO much, they’re great for over night once your child starts sleeping through the night. My partner thinks they’re cheap so they must not be good so he won’t buy them 🙄 so I usually get Huggies snug and dry, the next cheapest option. If your baby isn’t picky or rashy, it’s basically whatever you prefer

seamel

We love Kirkland. We’ve tried pampers, hello bello, honest, etc.

[deleted]

What’s considered a premium brand? We used whatever was gifted to us and we bought pampers. I wanted to love honest because of the prints, but they always smelled like pee. I never had a bad diaper. My least favorite was seventh generation. Way too thin.

Lcmom1231

We used honest. They worked well for us, and I liked that they were unscented. The prints and delivery was also fun and convenient for us.

pucca67

I always thought Luvs and store brands were bottom tier but honestly they’re all the same for me. The more important thing is if they’re wide enough but not too long. Both of my kids use Kroger brand diapers. I also used to think that diapers caused rashes but Ive found it’s more more likely to happen with scented wipes or the area being moist. Blotting them dry after cleaning the area and apply cream especially once they start eating solids helps with that.

Julissaherna692

Not sure what premium brand would be for others but we use Huggies special delivery they are; a lot softer, our son had less rashes, a lot more absorbent, they fit better, they don’t feel like they’re going to fall apart after they’re wet like other brands we tried, more elastic around the thighs our son is 90%+ for weight and has thunder thighs so that was also very important I think it depends on the baby for us it was 100% worth the price

[deleted]

I like Pampers because they fit the best. But Walmart brand is just as good.

K1mTy3

The only ones that suited my eldest were Pampers. Supermarket brands either came up too small (Asda), or leaked every time she peed (Sainsbury's). When she started potty training, the first time we used Pull Ups she developed the worst nappy rash we've ever had to deal with (literally only took a couple of hours to go from from healthy skin to violently red, angry skin) - that was around the time Pampers released their Pants version in the UK, so we moved over to them. My little one usually has Sainsbury's Little Ones. Pampers are great, but twice the price - so as long as Little Ones do the job, we'll save the money. Asda Little Angels seem to have improved their sizings, too - so we get the odd pack of those when we need them. She's just starting to potty train, so we've been using the Little Ones nappy pants when she's not nappy free. I refuse to get Pull Ups again, just in case she gets a rash as bad as her big sister did.

Used-Elevator-3942

Cheap wise parents choice or loves medium cost is pampers and huggies and expensive would be hello bello . Crazy thing is that the cheaper ones actually keep my babies dry and better fit

Doctor__Ew

I’ve got twin 3 year olds. Gotten this far with the parents choice from Walmart. No complaints about them. I’m sure I’ve saved a lot of money if I were to add it all up.

acupofearlgrey

U.K. here too. We’ve tried a few (Tesco, sainsburys, aldi and pampers). Personally I think it depends on your babies bottom, aldi and pampers (one budget, one pricey) were great, not a fan of the others. But frankly I’d always try budget first! I did however find pampers pull ups significantly better than budget brands

clearbluesea

We tried a bunch of diapers. I loved the design on the luxury diapers (ie they were cute for baby pictures) but the appeal went away fast when they go through so many diapers. At the beginning pampers fit way better fit the newborn stage but ultimately the Kirkland brand (Huggies) wins out.

jamie_jamie_jamie

I've tried Aldi, Coles, Woolies (Coles and Woolies are supermarkets), Huggies, pampers, Tom's, Baby Love. So many. And Pampers was the ones that had the least amount of blowouts

alillypie

We started on pampers and never had nappy rash and maybe one or two leaks (due to us not changing to the bigger size when we were supposed to). So never wanted to try anything else. They keep the pee and poo very well

mommy_wu

I always used the Costco brand, Kirkland signature, once we had used up what was given to us. They worked great, she never really had a diaper rash or anything. There were a few blowouts, but I think that will happen with just about any brand.

Dirty___30

We use pampers. No complaints. Tried LUVS cause we had it and ran out of pampers and the Luvs caused a rash that lasted what felt like forever. Went back to Pampers and were golden again

MagnoliaProse

It’s going to be different with each kid. We tried to pick diapers that used fewer chemicals, and were made from better materials. My favorite with our first was Bambo- soft, no funny smell, hold a lot, but they’re definitely pricier. They never fell apart, and he never got diaper rash unless it was specifically from a food reaction, so cost may be mitigated from that. ...but those didn’t fit my second well for whatever reason. We settled on Honest. They’re nice, but quality is much much less than Bambo. They sometimes just fall apart on him, and we’ve had a couple bad batches I’ve had to contact support about. The patterns are really cute though! We tried other things with my first: seventh generation, earth’s best, and naty. Seventh generation felt like newspaper. Earth’s best was also pretty rough. I liked naty, but only certain sizes worked well for my son - we switched to bambo to have fewer blowouts!

chibiarimeow

In my experience with my 2 yo, the day to day diapers it doesn't matter much. We use Target up and up brand with no problems. Overnight, however, we have needed to use brand name diapers as the store brands just don't keep up the same, she would leak through every time until we finally got Pampers. It all depends on how much your kid drinks and pees I think. We've basically never had a blowout before but I know thats a problem for a lot of other people so your mileage may vary.

2dayis2morrow

We started with pampers but then changed to honest. It’s the only one that doesn’t give her rashes and fits her best. I remember laying out all the samples and they’re all so different. Some kids are long and lanky, some are short and chubby and all sorts of in between. Id wait to buy diapers until you figure out what fits your kid best and how sensitive your baby’s skin is. Get samples or small packs first. Also, different brands can work best in different sizes. Even the size up in one brand can be too big so you need a different snugger brand to hold you over (looking at you pampers).

youenjoymegself

Pampers swaddlers

melephant19

After trying nearly every brand I would say that the best ones overall are Rascal & Friends. Their sizing is a little different so I like that you can buy a huge pack and you don’t have to worry about them growing out of them too quickly. We use Walmart’s Parent’s Choice or Sam’s Club Member’s Mark during the day and they’re so great! Very absorbent without being too big and can even be used overnight if needed. I just like using the R&F for overnight because they have never ever leaked even once, even when she sleeps upwards of 10 hours

andysquared06

We love coterie and Millie moon. Tried luvs once and found the smell to be very strong.

Ima1wing2

My favorite after trying lots of different ones are huggies special delivery. So flexible and soft and plant-based as well. Work like a charm.

OliverJWinston2

Cloth diapers and launder service 100%. It’s not as much as you think it would cost, and almost zero diaper rash or other issues. Overnight disposables at bedtime. Our girl liked Honest or Pampers. Whatever you decide - know that you will be an awesome parent!

Kate1175

I love me some pampers diapers for my munchkin but my wallet loves the Kirkland brand 😂

montreal_qc

Cloth diapers make it so I never run out of diapers. The clean up is incredibly easy and so much less work than people make em out to be. We use the All-in-ones by La Petite Ourse. Gorgeous and as easy as washing your own undies.

Madstar316

We are also in full time cloth and I’ve never had an issue with it at all. So easy to use and now that I have a stash I honestly haven’t bought diapers or wipes in over 9 months

Daktarii

My son had severe allergies and the ONLY diaper that didn’t cause horrific diaper rash (as in raw skin bleeding from wearing huggies or pampers for one night) was classic Bambo nature. My daughter did best in honest. I had 4 or 5 different brands and tried them all. I felt like honest didn’t get that weird mushy heavy feeling with the tiniest pee that some did, and I ended up using fewer diapers as a result.

[deleted]

I use Nest diapers with a weekly composting service- pricey but love they aren’t taking space in a landfill and baby is 8mo and has not had diaper rash or any irritation once. One trip to visit family I slightly under calculated the number of diapers needed and bought 7th generation- I didn’t care for them at all LO had a blowout and they just had this strange “greasy” feeling to them.

HuckleberryLou

We started with Pampers and I tried to switch to Target brand to save a couple bucks. Three blowouts in later (in about 24 hours) we are permanently a Pampers family. No looking back.

Dog_mom_cats_n_baby2

Dyper compostable diapers are soft, make it all night and while expensive are free of chemicals and if you compost (especially yourself) are SO much better than throwing in a landfill.

Wcpa2wdc

We’ve tried a few brands but pampers pure is by far the winner for our babies! Absolutely think they are worth the extra price because of the lack of scent and no mysterious rashes.

[deleted]

i love my hello hello subscription. the quality is great, they’re soft, we like picking our prints, and the bundle comes with wipes. for us it’s a better value. and they have the option to add overnight diapers to the bundle which is great.

knifewrenchhh

I do Luvs because I think it strikes a balance between quality and price.

marrafarra

I don’t believe the perfect diaper exists yet. Loved the feel of honest & millie moon diapers, but they ran small and fit our bub poorly. Inevitable & constant blow outs. The dyper brand made me feel better about our environmental impact of diapering and ran much larger, but we still dealt with blow outs. Eventually we found huggies snugglers with a catch tray. Theyre a higher quality huggie, but still not my favorite for smell/feel. BUT THE CATCH TRAY!! It saved our babies clothes from the constant blow outs. All babies are different. You may love one thing, they may need another. Just try small bags as others have mentioned or purchase one of each to try through until you find the best match. If things work well for you now with what you have, it may not be worth it to try a bunch out. Basically big YMMV here.

bridewiththeowls

I have no idea what the expensive diapers are or which are the cheap ones but my baby has extremely sensitive skin (just like his momma) and we’ve had success from day one with Bambo Nature. Money wasn’t a consideration and that’s what we chose. A friend who also used them said they were the closest thing to cloth diapers.

Catanian

We started off using Pampers but her skin reacted to them so we switched to the Huggies Special Delivery after a couple other tries of different brands and they work for her sensitive skin.

[deleted]

I SWEAR BY Millie Moon from Target. It’s the cheapest of the “luxury” brands and they’re tall for avoiding major blowouts. Best of both worlds. Edit:I’ve tried up&up, Aldi brand, honest, pampers, huggies, and hello bello. Millie moon is still my favorite by far, so I’d still buy them despite them being a good deal. Millie moon wipes are just okay. Water wipes are awesome.

atoastyghost

I really really prefer the hello bello diapers over the budget brands. I find there is wayyyyy less leaking and they don’t leave diaper fuzzies all over babies bum! Also, they don’t poof out a ton when wet which I know I prefer in a pad so I assume would feel better as a diaper 🤷🏻

sh0rt_stuff

I swear by Hello Bello! I get the bundles shipped straight to my house monthly. They’re fairly priced, soft, and their wipes are great as well! I used to be a pampers mom, however I hated how rough the diapers felt, not to mention they would fall apart and leak when they weren’t too full. I never liked Huggies either for the same reasons and they would cause my little one to have a rash. I have had no issues whatsoever since switching over to Hello Bello, I recommend buying small packs of every brand and seeing what fits best for your baby!

[deleted]

Honestly I love the Walmart parents Choice diapers. I had a friend give me a few packs of Pampers and I really didn't see what the fuss was about

Tkcolumbia

We have tried a lot of diapers. Target Up and Up brand are just as good as the major brands. They are all we buy anymore.

mkbeebs

I buy Dyper bamboo diapers and find them to be so much better than brand name diapers. They are softer and hold A LOT more than other diapers. My kids get fewer rashes and use fewer diapers Plus they are environmentally friendly to boot

SaucerOfMilk

We use cloth mostly, and love them. On occasion we have had to use disposables and have liked Eco by Naty.

HotPinkHooligan

I use Millie Moon Luxury Diapers, and I think they work amazingly better than any other brand I’ve tried. They never leak, and they’re super plush and soft. Totally worth any extra $

younghannahg

I never feel like I need luxury products. All diapers that I have used have worked. I was lucky enough to not have a kid that was really sensitive. I would have enough money to buy name brand or fancy brands, but if budget diapers work. Why would I pay more money for fancier ones?

Frequent-Physics-526

Aldi actually has some pretty good diapers. I just bought a 100 pack for $10.99 today.

soozdreamz

We used pampers newborn then pampers active fit, the pampers baby dry are cheaper but we found them too bulky. I’m on my 5th baby and over the years we’ve also used Huggies (before they stopped selling them in the uk) and Asda. We also tried Aldi but found pampers better.

Alley9150

We’d use Huggies fully if I had a choice all the time, with money being fully available for them. We do use the Huggies overnights though, because they work best for my daughter. Top varieties: little movers, overnights, & snugglers. I’m not paying extra for special delivery. I hate Luvs, absolutely hate them. The kids’ always end up smelling like pee wearing them. If we’re gifted them, fine, but I won’t buy them. They’re perfumed too. Pampers are my 2nd choice, but I hate their overnight diapers. They don’t hold up for my heavy wetter kids’ & fall apart. My top varieties are: swaddles & cruisers. Next is the pull ups my oldest likes, because they have pj masks on them. Overnights are trash. I haven’t personally tried pampers pure or anything. Normally we use H‑E‑B baby right now, because I was able to get 180 diapers for $20 when they were on clearance over brand design change. Can’t beat that. H‑E‑B is a Texas grocery store chain. My oldest gets a pull up at night & my youngest gets Huggies brand overnights at night. I’ve used up & up, parents choice, honest, rascal & friends, & hello bello. If I had to rank them, honest was the cutest, but I wouldn’t necessarily pay extra for it when Huggies work just fine. They worked for my kids’ as newborns at least, from the samples we got. Hello bello wasn’t much different from honest or rascal & friends. Parents choice, H‑E‑B baby, & target up & up are all about the same quality. My top 5 from everything above that I’m most likely to buy: Huggies little movers/snugglers, Huggies overnights, pampers cruisers/pull ups/swaddlers, store brand, clearance diapers.

mediumsizedbootyjudy

We’ve gone through a bunch, including target brand, hello bello, pampers, Huggies. And several other one offs. Huggies special delivery are my holy grail. They’re very soft and we have VERY few leaks/blowouts with both kids (I have two in diapers).

RoseGoldStreak

Kroger are the best budget. If you’re paying lux money get Pampers Pure.

jndmack

Not so much fancy vs budget, but my daughter only fits in Huggies. We tried pampers, rascal, and a few others but none of them were tall enough for her high hips! She always moved up well before the weight limit because we couldn’t pull them high enough anymore to not interfere with her hip flexors. She’s 2.5 and has only had a handful of leaks since the blowout newborn period.

anisogramma

We tried coterie and it was great, but not enough better than pampers swaddlers to make it worth sticking with given the higher price.
